  • SVN: authz directory identifiers not support

    Without using the authz, all the svn users can login and use the repos without issues. However, I would like to limit the access to some directories - not to be readable or writeable for all users. svnserve --version = 1.6.6 I tried both, granting access to users and groups. I also tried it separate, only group or only user access. [groups] admingroup=i_can_access_anything limitedgroup=i_am_limited [/] #*= @admingroup=rw i_can_access_anything=rw [projectX] #i also tried [repository:/projectX] #*= @limitedgroup=rw i_am_limited=rw Trying to access the / or /projectX at the svn fails. = access denied Without the authz, it works properly, but also grants access to other projects that do not belong to the "limited" user group :-/ Do you see what's wrong there?   • Override app.config settings embedded into a MSI?

    I have a .NET solution with an installer project that generates an MSI. One of the projects installed by the MSI contains an App.Config file. It appears that the values of that config file are embedded into the MSI at compile time. Is there a way to override them at runtime? For instance, the App.Config I'm working with sets the URL of a web service that the installer talks to. Is it possible to override this URL at runtime, so that I don't have to recompile the MSI if the URL changes?

  • How to implement a "hidden" Android app?

    I would like an application which is not readily apparent to casual perusal of the Android. How best to activate it and bring its screen to the fore? Can I detect a special dialing sequence, like *1234#? Or a hotkey combination? When activated, I guess I can pop up an anonymous screen which does not mention the app, but only asks for a password. If password is ok, then show the app. Any suggestions?

  • Remove an apache alias subdirectory

    I'm using Apache 2 on Ubuntu 12.04. I added an alias for a subdirectory, to point to gitweb. I realised I should probably make it accessible only on https - so I removed the alias and restarted Apache. I can still navigate to http://xyz/gitweb - even with no alias in any of my config files. How do I remove it?   • iPhone app launch times and Core Data migration

    I have a Core Data application which I plan to update with a new schema. The lightweight migration seems to work, but it takes time proportional to the amount of data in the database. This occurs in the didFinishLaunchingWithOptions phase of the app. I want to avoid <app> failed to launch in time problems, so I assume I cannot keep the migration in the didFinishLaunchingWithOptions method. I assume the best method would involve performing the migration in a background thread. I assume also that I'd need to defer loading of the main ViewController until the loading completes to avoid using the managedObjectContext until initialization completes. Does this make sense, and is there example code (maybe in Apple sample projects) of this sort of initialization?

  • Embeddable unit testing framework for mixed Windows app

    I want to test portions of a very complex app which includes both a major native Windows component and a substantial WPF GUI. Due to complexities I can't detail, it is impossible to run the native portion independently nor can I isolate the areas I want to test (spare me the lectures, we're talking a huge legacy code base and we do have refactoring plans). I'm looking for a unit test kit I can invoke on the native side but must be able to run with the app launched with the managed portion initialised. That seems to rule out the run executable feature of the cfix Windows unit test kit. I really like their philosophy, like WinUnit, of using DLL compilation as a way to add the reflective capabilities missing in C++ and gain a more NUnit-like experience. Ideally, I want something like WinUnit running within the application code and generating an HTML report. I'm trying to introduce more TDD and having things as lean as possible is important.

    I deployed a windows application in the following website http://StagingServer/MyProgs/MPP/ on my intranet site, using the Publish Wizard of VS 2005... I accepted all defaults (including Offline support). My users were also able to install the same from the path specified. But when I try to find out the exact location of the EXE in the client, it is not pointing anywhere. I also tried a file search but in vain. Initially I thought the application is running from the server itself, but we were able to start the app, even when the server is down (ofcourse it takes more time to search for updates initially). Ps : The app is showing even in control panel... Raja

    I'm planning to develop a city info site. The web pages will display contents from a constantly updating MySQL database- most probably using a CMS. I am planning to share the same database for a Mobile app related to this. In the pages there are options for using geolocation, rate and comment for the user. I think, this mobile app should work while it's offline too. So how should i deal with data for mobile? Should i use a connection between MySQL and IndexedDB? (I'm not quite sure about this part).   • Problem with screen redrawing at DOS app in VmWare Player

    I have very old DOS Application (CadSoft Eagle - PCB Designer) and I want to work with it on my workstation with Windows 7. Then I install Windows 98 and that software into VmWare Player. But that software has serious problem with redrawing screen. It's very slow in comparison with my Intel Celeron 333MHz with Windows 98. I have same problem if I try to use DOSBox. I also trying run this application directly on Windows XP with compatibility mod set to "Windows 98", but I get "(0Dh): General Protection Fault". Can someone give me good advice how I solve that?

  • ASP.Net MVC Web App not running

    Hi, I developed an ASP.Net MVC v1 web application and it ran fine on our server. The client wanted to move to another server, and the site does not run on the new host's server. The new server specs: Windows 2008 ASP.Net Framework v4 ASP.Net MVC 2 (afaik its included with .Net v4) IIS 7.5 (afaik) Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Mvc, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. My understanding is that it should be backwards compatible. Is the app really trying to run in ASP.Net MVC v1 when v2 is available? I have already tried deploying the MVC .dlls to the Bin folder, but it did not work. I also tried changing all the system.Web.Mvc Version values (in the web.config for the web app) from 1.0.0.0 to 2.0.0.0, which also did not work. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    I am playing sounds in loop in my app. So it should continue playing through out the app. but sometimes it stops after playing sound for 3/4 times.I don't understand whats happening. I am using audio-toolbox framework for playing sound. creating audio queue and then playing sounds in loop. I am also playing sound from ipod library using mediaplayer. Same thing happening with song from ipod. I have set [musicPlayer setRepeatMode: MPMusicRepeatModeOne]; but still it stops after 3/4 times.

    I am creating an iPad App that displays data I got from an API in JSON format. My Core Data model has several entities(Countries, Events, Talks, ...). For each entity I have one .json file that contains all instances of the entity and its attributes as well as its relationships. I would like to populate my Core Data data model with these entities before the start of the App (otherwise it takes about 15 minutes for the iPad to create all the instances of the entities from the several JSON files using factory methods).     Ok, so i am having a problem, where i developed an app that uses the webcam, adds an image and then takes a picture, well, i implemented textbook style the printjob, and well everytime after printing my swf goes blank. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3021557/as3-printing-problem-blanks-swf-after-print-or-cancel But now i have been continuing testing, and i found out, that if i print from another application and then comeback, my video stream from the webcam is blank, this has no sense at all, since i am printing from another app. Please i need help with this, i have found one additional case: http://board.flashkit.com/board/showthread.php?t=781089 What is going on here i mean, this must be a flash player issue right.

I would like to: use google's compiler.jar to minify my JS use yahoo's yui-compressor.jar to minify my CSS access a file and change a string so that header files like "global.css?v=21" get served the correct version deploy the app (sftp, mercurial or rsync?) omitting certain directories like "/userfiles" Can you guys put me on the right track to solve this?   • Fullscreen Photo/Video Slideshow App?

    I have a folder that contains a lot of subfolders which include photos and/or videos. Is there any free application that would display them in a random slideshow? It's something I want to run on a PC mounted on a wall. I point it to that folder and it starts displaying it, with some random/nice transitions. No need for anything more fancy, except maybe Previous/Next controls. Edit: Just a quick clarification. Those pictures change all the time, and there are many of them. It's supposed to be in a store to display product pictures, so it's not like someone is actively watching the whole show. Currently, there are around 150,000 pictures or videos.
