• libpng cannot read an image properly

  Here is my function... I don't know why it's not working. The resulting image looks nothing like what the .png looks like. • Why is my GZipStream not writeable?

  I have some GZ compressed resources in my program and I need to be able to write them out to temporary files for use. I wrote the following function to write the files out and return true on success or false on failure. In addition, I've put a try/catch in there which shows a MessageBox in the event of an error: private static bool extractCompressedResource(byte[] resource, string path) { try { using (MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream(resource)) { using (FileStream fs = new FileStream(path, FileMode.Create, FileAccess.ReadWrite)) { using (GZipStream zs = new GZipStream(fs, CompressionMode.Decompress)) { ms.CopyTo(zs); // Throws exception zs.Close(); ms.Close(); } } } } catch (Exception ex) { MessageBox.Show(ex.Message); // Stream is not writeable return false; } return true; } I've put a comment on the line which throws the exception. If I put a breakpoint on that line and take a look inside the GZipStream then I can see that it's not writeable (which is what's causing the problem). Am I doing something wrong, or is this a limitation of the GZipStream class?

• How can I display multiple django modelformset forms in a grouped fieldsets?

  I have a problem with needing to provide multiple model backed forms on the same page. I understand how to do this with single forms, i.e. just create both the forms call them something different then use the appropriate names in the template. Now how exactly do you expand that solution to work with modelformsets? The wrinkle, of course, is that each 'form' must be rendered together in the appropriate fieldset. The problem is that I can't figure out a way to do the same thing with the templating engine. The system does work if I layout all the base models together then all the likes models after wards, but it doesn't meet the layout requirements. EDIT: Updated the problem statement to be more clear about what exactly I'm processing (I'm processing models not forms in the for loop)

The issue is while im listening for a connection if i want to quit listening then the server thread continues running and causes problems. i know i should not use .stop() on a thread so i was wondering what the solution would look like with this in mind? • Count all lists of adjacent nodes stored in an array.

  There are many naive approaches to this problem, but I'm looking for a good solution. Here is the problem (will be implemented in Java): You have a function foo(int a, int b) that returns true if 'a' is "adjacent" to 'b' and false if 'a' is not adjacent to 'b'. You have an array such as this [1,4,5,9,3,2,6,15,89,11,24], but in reality has a very long length, like 120, and will be repeated over and over (its a genetic algorithm fitness function) which is why efficiency is important. I want a function that returns the length of each possible 'list' of adjacencies in the array, but not including the 'lists' which simply subsets of a larger list. For example, if foo(1,4) - true, foo(4,5) - true, foo(5,9)- false, foo(9,3) & foo(3,2) & foo(2,6), foo(6,15) - true, then there are 'lists' (1,4,5) and (9,3,2,6), so length 3 and 4. I don't want it to return (3,2,6), though, because this is simply a subset of 9,3,2,6. Thanks.

• SQL 2008 - db mail issue

  Hello. I have two instances of SQL Server 2008. One was upgraded from SQL Server 2000 and one was a clean, new install. The instances are running on different nodes of the same cluster, although I have tried having them both on the same node with identical results. SQL Mail operates perfectly on both instances. DB Mail operates perfectly on the newly installed instance. On the upgraded instance, DB Mail does not send any mail. Of course, I am not positive that the fact this instance is upgraded has anything to do with the issue, but it might. The configuration of my db mail profile and account looks identical to my functioning instance. In the configuration of the 'alerts' tab in the SQL Agent properties i have tried selecting both DB Mail and SQL Mail to no avail. Both instances use the same SMTP server with the same authentication (domain with db engine account). All messages sent via sp_send_db mail and those sent via the 'test email' option are visible in the sysmail_allitems queue and remain there as 'unsent'. The send_status eventually changes to 'failed'. The only messages in the sysmail_event_log are 'mail queue stopped by login domain\myuser', 'mail queue started by login domain/myuser' and 'activiation successful.'. selecting from the externalmailqueue has the same number of rows as sysmail_allitems. i have tried bouncing the agent, the entire instance and moving the other functioning instance to the other node in the cluster. any thoughts? thx.

• C#: Why am I still getting an RCW error when exiting my application?

  To be specific, the error is: An attempt has been made to free an RCW that is in use. The RCW is in use on the active thread or another thread. Attempting to free an in-use RCW can cause corruption or data loss. The application in question is a small applet that displays the current clock speed of the CPU as a system tray icon. I'm using a System.Timers.Timer object to refresh the systray icon at an interval of 2.5 seconds. There's a single context menu item to exit the application, which uses the following function to unload everything: public void ExitApp(object sender, EventArgs e) { //stop and disable the timer theInterval.Stop(); theInterval.Enabled = false; //unload the system tray icon TheIcon.Visible = false; //exit the application Application.Exit(); } If I take out everything but Application.Exit(); I get an RCW error and the systray icon doesn't go away until I mouse over it. Everything was working perfectly until I changed the window style of the hidden form used to initialize the systray icon and the timer. If it helps any, I'm using C# 2010 Express.

It generates a huge amount of logs in the catalina.out folder, most of these are generated while using the application, but are not generated by the application.   I'm trying to create a sort of "virtual gallery". I'm using Coda Slider 2.0 & jQuery v1.4.2 It behaves perfectly in IE, FF & Safari, but Chrome seems to reload/hang for a second when setting location.hash. It comes back with just the text from the partial view returned in a new page. I dont want to use the jquery form plugin which has .ajaxSubmit(). Is there any other way to force an ajax post from the jquery dialog "approve" button?

• Virtual properties duplicated during serialization when XmlElement attribute used

  The Goal: XML serialize an object that contains a list of objects of that and its derived types. The resulting XML should not use the xsi:type attribute to describe the type, to wit the names of the serialized XML elements would be an assigned name specific to the derived type, not always that of the base class, which is the default behavior. The Attempt: After exploring IXmlSerializable and IXmlSerializable with eerie XmlSchemaProvider methods and voodoo reflection to return specialized schemas and an XmlQualifiedName over the course of days, I found I was able to use the simple [XmlElement] attribute to accomplish the goal... almost. The Problem: Overridden properties appear twice when serializing. The exception reads "The XML element 'overriddenProperty' from namespace '' is already present in the current scope. Use XML attributes to specify another XML name or namespace for the element." I attempted using a *Specified property (see code), but it didn't work. • How do you keep the text selection on a DataGridView?

  I'm running C# 2.0, and I've written an application with a DataGridView in virtualmode and a TreeView in the same form, but in different panels of a SplitContainer. My application has a "find all" function that finds all instances of a certain string, and adds them as the child nodes to a new node to the TreeView (it's a tree view because you can have multiple search results by having different root nodes). That idea is that when you click on one of those search results in the TreeView, that it would select the specific text of that result in the DataGridView (Virtually the same as Notepad++'s find all function) When I click on the TreeView, it does set the selected cell of the DataGridView and highlight the specific text, but it loses that specific text selection instantly (but keeps the cell selection) because by clicking on the TreeView the DataGridView loses focus.   How do you get the length of the text inside a Mojo TextField? I'm trying to set a multiLine TextField with a limit of 150 chars, I tried doing it with a counter, but ran into a issue of not being able to decrement the counter when the text was erased, or adding the right number when pasting text, so my new approach was to get the length of the text each time you press a letter. I've already tried this: (gets called in the charsAllow attribute of the textField) if (this.controller.get("mensaje").mojo.getValue().length &lt;= 150) { return true; } this.controller.get("mensaje").mojo.blur(); return false; but it doesn't work.... I debugged and the function exits just after the line in bold... it doesn't even returns true or false. I also tried assigning the length value to a variable or assigning the text to a variable and then get the length, but nothing. It's the same issue. It returns just after the getValue(). Also, maybe because of this issue, the text scrolls instead of wrapping, but when the textField loses focus it wraps the text.

Is there any workaround for using ReadDirectoryChangesW from a non-administrator user account? It seems that the .NET's FileSystemWatcher can do this. Thanks!

• Buttons OnClick Event not firing when it causes a textboxes onChange event to fire first

  I have a few textboxes and button to save their values on a webpage. The onchange event of the textboxes fires some js which adds the changed text to a js array. The ok button when clicked flushes this to the database via a webservice. This works fine except when the onchange event is caused by clicking the ok button. In this scenario the onchange of the textboxes still fires but the onClick event of the button does not. Any ideas? textboxes look something like <input name="ctrlJPView$tbcTabContainer$Details$JP_Details_Address2Text" type="text" value="test" id="ctrlJPView_tbcTabContainer_Details_JP_Details_Address2Text" onchange="addSaveDetails('Jobs###' + document.getElementById('ctrlJPView_tbcTabContainer_Details_JP_Details_Address2Text').value + ');" style="font-size:8pt;Left:110px;Top:29px;Width:420px;Height:13px;Position:absolute;" /> My save button <input type="button" name="ctrlJPView$btnOk" value="OK" onclick="saveAmendments();refreshJobGrids();return false;__doPostBack('ctrlJPView$btnOk','')" id="ctrlJPView_btnOk" class="ControlText" style="width:60px;" /> UPDATE: I guess this comes down to one of two things. 1) Something is happening before the onClick of the button gets called to surpress that call such as an inadvertent return false; or 2) the onClick event isn't firing at all. Now I've rem'd out everything actually inside the functions that are being called beforehand but the problem persists. But if i remove the call altogether it works (???)
