  • Naudio - putting audio stream into values [-1,1]

    - by denonth
    Hi all I need to put my audio stream into values of [-1,1]. Can someone tell me a good approach. I was reading byte array and float array from stream but I don't know what to do next. Here is my code: float[] bytes=new float[stream.Length]; float biggest= 0; for (int i = 0; i < stream.Length; i++) { bytes[i] = (byte)stream.ReadByte(); if (bytes[i] > biggest) { biggest=bytes[i]; } } and I don't know how to put values into stream. Because byte is only positive values. And I need to have from [-1,1] for (int i = 0; i < bytes.Count(); i++) { bytes[i] = (byte)(bytes[i] * (1 / biggest)); }

  • assistance required, hangman game.

    - by Phillip Gibson
    I am making a hangman game and am having trouble with part of it. I have selected a random word from a file, but I want to display the word as a series of undersocres __ and then match the letter chosen to a position in the undersocres. Can anyone help me? cout <<"1. Select to play the game\n"; cout <<"2. Ask for help\n"; cout <<"3. Select to quit the game\n"; cout << "Enter a selection: "; int number; cin >> number; while(number < 1 || number > 3 || cin.fail()) { if(cin.fail()) { cin.sync(); cin.clear(); cout << "You have not entered a number, please enter a menu selection between 1 and 3\n"; cin >> number; } else { cout << "Your selection must be between 1 and 3!\n"; cin >> number; } } switch (number) { case 1: { string word; string name; cout << " Whats your name? "; cin >> name; Player player(); ifstream FileReader; FileReader.open("words.txt"); if(!FileReader.is_open()) cout << "Error"; //this is for the random selection of words srand(time(0)); int randnum = rand()%10+1; for(int counter = 0; counter < randnum; counter++) { getline(FileReader, word, '\n'); } cout << "my word: " << word << "\n"; // get length of word int length; //create for loop for(int i = 0; i < length; i++) cout << "_"; //_ _ _ _ _ SetCursorPos(2,10); FileReader.close(); break;

  • GCC error with variadic templates: "Sorry, unimplemented: cannot expand 'Identifier...' into a fixe

    - by Dennis
    While doing variadic template programming in C++0x on GCC, once in a while I get an error that says "Sorry, unimplemented: cannot expand 'Identifier...' into a fixed-length arugment list." If I remove the "..." in the code then I get a different error: "error: parameter packs not expanded with '...'". So if I have the "..." in, GCC calls that an error, and if I take the "..." out, GCC calls that an error too. The only way I have been able to deal with this is to completely rewrite the template metaprogram from scratch using a different approach, and (with luck) I eventually come up with code that doesn't cause the error. But I would really like to know what I was doing wrong. Despite Googling for it and despite much experimentation, I can't pin down what it is that I'm doing differently between variadic template code that does produce this error, and code that does not have the error. The wording of the error message seems to imply that the code should work according the C++0x standard, but that GCC doesn't support it yet. Or perhaps it is a compiler bug? Here's some code that produces the error. Note: I don't need you to write a correct implementation for me, but rather just to point out what is about my code that is causing this specific error // Used as a container for a set of types. template <typename... Types> struct TypePack { // Given a TypePack<T1, T2, T3> and T=T4, returns TypePack<T1, T2, T3, T4> template <typename T> struct Add { typedef TypePack<Types..., T> type; }; }; // Takes the set (First, Others...) and, while N > 0, adds (First) to TPack. // TPack is a TypePack containing between 0 and N-1 types. template <int N, typename TPack, typename First, typename... Others> struct TypePackFirstN { // sorry, unimplemented: cannot expand ‘Others ...’ into a fixed-length argument list typedef typename TypePackFirstN<N-1, typename TPack::template Add<First>::type, Others...>::type type; }; // The stop condition for TypePackFirstN: when N is 0, return the TypePack that has been built up. template <typename TPack, typename... Others> struct TypePackFirstN<0, TPack, Others...> //sorry, unimplemented: cannot expand ‘Others ...’ into a fixed-length argument list { typedef TPack type; }; EDIT: I've noticed that while a partial template instantiation that looks like does incur the error: template <typename... T> struct SomeStruct<1, 2, 3, T...> {}; Rewriting it as this does not produce an error: template <typename... T> struct SomeStruct<1, 2, 3, TypePack<T...>> {}; It seems that you can declare parameters to partial specializations to be variadic; i.e. this line is OK: template <typename... T> But you cannot actually use those parameter packs in the specialization, i.e. this part is not OK: SomeStruct<1, 2, 3, T... The fact that you can make it work if you wrap the pack in some other type, i.e. like this: SomeStruct<1, 2, 3, TypePack<T...>> to me implies that the declaration of the variadic parameter to a partial template specialization was successful, and you just can't use it directly. Can anyone confirm this?

  • Sqlite issues with HTC Desire HD

    - by Greg
    Recently I have been getting a lot of complaints about the HTC Desire series and it failing while invoking sql statements. I have received reports from users with log snapshots that contain the following. I/Database( 2348): sqlite returned: error code = 8, msg = statement aborts at 1: [pragma journal_mode = WAL;] E/Database( 2348): sqlite3_exec to set journal_mode of /data/data/my.app.package/files/localized_db_en_uk-1.sqlite to WAL failed followed by my app basically burning in flames because the call to open the database results in a serious runtime error that manifests itself as the cursor being left open. There shouldn't be a cursor at this point as we are trying to open it. This only occurs with the HTC Desire HD and Z. My code basically does the following (changed a little to isolate the problem area). SQLiteDatabase db; String dbName; public SQLiteDatabase loadDb(Context context) throws IOException{ //Close any old db handle if (db != null && db.isOpen()) { db.close(); } // The name of the database to use from the bundled assets. String dbAsset = "/asset_dir/"+dbName+".sqlite"; InputStream myInput = context.getAssets().open(dbAsset, Context.MODE_PRIVATE); // Create a file in the app's file directory since sqlite requires a path // Not ideal but we will copy the file out of our bundled assets and open it // it in another location. FileOutputStream myOutput = context.openFileOutput(dbName, Context.MODE_PRIVATE); byte[] buffer = new byte[1024]; int length; while ((length = myInput.read(buffer)) > 0) { myOutput.write(buffer, 0, length); } // Close the streams myOutput.flush(); // Guarantee Write! myOutput.getFD().sync(); myOutput.close(); myInput.close(); // Not grab the newly written file File fileObj = context.getFileStreamPath(dbName); // and open the database return db = SQLiteDatabase.openDatabase(fileObj.getAbsolutePath(), null, SQLiteDatabase.OPEN_READONLY | SQLiteDatabase.NO_LOCALIZED_COLLATORS); } Sadly this phone is only available in the UK and I don't have one in my inventory. I am only getting reports of this type from the HTC Desire series. I don't know what changed as this code has been working without any problem. Is there something I am missing?

  • GetAcceptExSockaddrs returns garbage! Does anyone know why?

    - by David
    Hello, I'm trying to write a quick/dirty echoserver in Delphi, but I notice that GetAcceptExSockaddrs seems to be writing to only the first 4 bytes of the structure I pass it. USES SysUtils; TYPE BOOL = LongBool; DWORD = Cardinal; LPDWORD = ^DWORD; short = SmallInt; ushort = Word; uint16 = Word; uint = Cardinal; ulong = Cardinal; SOCKET = uint; PVOID = Pointer; _HANDLE = DWORD; _in_addr = packed record s_addr : ulong; end; _sockaddr_in = packed record sin_family : short; sin_port : uint16; sin_addr : _in_addr; sin_zero : array[0..7] of Char; end; P_sockaddr_in = ^_sockaddr_in; _Overlapped = packed record Internal : Int64; Offset : Int64; hEvent : _HANDLE; end; LP_Overlapped = ^_Overlapped; IMPORTS function _AcceptEx (sListenSocket, sAcceptSocket : SOCKET; lpOutputBuffer : PVOID; dwReceiveDataLength, dwLocalAddressLength, dwRemoteAddressLength : DWORD; lpdwBytesReceived : LPDWORD; lpOverlapped : LP_OVERLAPPED) : BOOL; stdcall; external MSWinsock name 'AcceptEx'; procedure _GetAcceptExSockaddrs (lpOutputBuffer : PVOID; dwReceiveDataLength, dwLocalAddressLength, dwRemoteAddressLength : DWORD; LocalSockaddr : P_Sockaddr_in; LocalSockaddrLength : LPINT; RemoteSockaddr : P_Sockaddr_in; RemoteSockaddrLength : LPINT); stdcall; external MSWinsock name 'GetAcceptExSockaddrs'; CONST BufDataSize = 8192; BufAddrSize = SizeOf (_sockaddr_in) + 16; VAR ListenSock, AcceptSock : SOCKET; Addr, LocalAddr, RemoteAddr : _sockaddr_in; LocalAddrSize, RemoteAddrSize : INT; Buf : array[1..BufDataSize + BufAddrSize * 2] of Byte; BytesReceived : DWORD; Ov : _Overlapped; BEGIN //WSAStartup, create listen socket, bind to port 1066 on any interface, listen //Create event for overlapped (autoreset, initally not signalled) //Create accept socket if _AcceptEx (ListenSock, AcceptSock, @Buf, BufDataSize, BufAddrSize, BufAddrSize, @BytesReceived, @Ov) then WinCheck ('SetEvent', _SetEvent (Ov.hEvent)) else if GetLastError <> ERROR_IO_PENDING then WinCheck ('AcceptEx', GetLastError); {do WaitForMultipleObjects} _GetAcceptExSockaddrs (@Buf, BufDataSize, BufAddrSize, BufAddrSize, @LocalAddr, @LocalAddrSize, @RemoteAddr, @RemoteAddrSize); So if I run this, connect to it with Telnet (on same computer, connecting to localhost) and then type a key, WaitForMultipleObjects will unblock and GetAcceptExSockaddrs will run. But the result is garbage! RemoteAddr.sin_family = -13894 RemoteAddr.sin_port = 64 and the rest is zeroes. What gives? Thanks in advance!

  • html5 uploader + jquery drag & drop: how to store file data with FormData?

    - by lauthiamkok
    I am making a html5 drag and drop uploader with jquery, below is my code so far, the problem is that I get an empty array without any data. Is this line incorrect to store the file data - fd.append('file', $thisfile);? $('#div').on( 'dragover', function(e) { e.preventDefault(); e.stopPropagation(); } ); $('#div').on( 'dragenter', function(e) { e.preventDefault(); e.stopPropagation(); } ); $('#div').on( 'drop', function(e){ if(e.originalEvent.dataTransfer){ if(e.originalEvent.dataTransfer.files.length) { e.preventDefault(); e.stopPropagation(); // The file list. var fileList = e.originalEvent.dataTransfer.files; //console.log(fileList); // Loop the ajax post. for (var i = 0; i < fileList.length; i++) { var $thisfile = fileList[i]; console.log($thisfile); // HTML5 form data object. var fd = new FormData(); //console.log(fd); fd.append('file', $thisfile); /* var file = {name: fileList[i].name, type: fileList[i].type, size:fileList[i].size}; $.each(file, function(key, value) { fd.append('file['+key+']', value); }) */ $.ajax({ url: "upload.php", type: "POST", data: fd, processData: false, contentType: false, success: function(response) { // .. do something }, error: function(jqXHR, textStatus, errorMessage) { console.log(errorMessage); // Optional } }); } /*UPLOAD FILES HERE*/ upload(e.originalEvent.dataTransfer.files); } } } ); function upload(files){ console.log('Upload '+files.length+' File(s).'); }; then if I use another method is that to make the file data into an array inside the jquery code, var file = {name: fileList[i].name, type: fileList[i].type, size:fileList[i].size}; $.each(file, function(key, value) { fd.append('file['+key+']', value); }); but where is the tmp_name data inside e.originalEvent.dataTransfer.files[i]? php, print_r($_POST); $uploaddir = './uploads/'; $file = $uploaddir . basename($_POST['file']['name']); if (move_uploaded_file($_POST['file']['tmp_name'], $file)) { echo "success"; } else { echo "error"; } as you can see that tmp_name is needed to upload the file via php... html, <div id="div">Drop here</div>

  • understanding list[i-1] vs list[i]-1

    - by user3720527
    Hopefully this is a simple answer that I am just failing to understand. Full code is public static void mystery(int[] list) { for( int i = list.length - 1; i>1; i --) { if (list[i] > list[i - 1]) { list[i -1] = list[i] - 2; list[i]++; } } } } and lets say we are using a list of [2,3,4]. I know that it will output 2,2,5 but I am unclear how to actually work through it. I understand that the list.length is 3 here, and I understand that the for loop will only run once, but I am very unclear what happens at the list[i - 1] = list[i] - 2; area. Should it be list[2-1] = list[2] - 2? How does the two being outside the bracket effect it differently? Much thanks.

  • help with reflections and annotations in java

    - by Yonatan
    Hello Internet ! I'm having trouble with doubling up on my code for no reason other than my own lack of ability to do it more efficiently... `for (Method curr: all){ if (curr.isAnnotationPresent(anno)){ if (anno == Pre.class){ for (String str : curr.getAnnotation(Pre.class).value()){ if (str.equals(method.getName()) && curr.getReturnType() == boolean.class && curr.getParameterTypes().length == 0){ toRun.add(curr); } } } if (anno == Post.class) { for (String str : curr.getAnnotation(Post.class).value()){ if (str.equals(method.getName()) && curr.getReturnType() == boolean.class && curr.getParameterTypes().length == 0){ toRun.add(curr); } } } } }` anno is a parameter - Class, and Pre and Post are my annotations, both have a value() which is an array of strings. Of course, this is all due to the fact that i let Eclipse auto fill code that i don't understand yet.

  • sending and receiving with sockets in java?

    - by Darksole
    I am working on sending and receiving from clients and servers in java, and am stumped at the moment. the client socket is to contact a server at “localhost” port 4321. The client will receive a string from the server and alternate spelling the contents of this string with the server. For example, given the string “Bye Bye”, the client (which always begins sending the first letter) sends “B”, receives “y”, sends “e”, receives “ ”, sends “B”, receives “y”, sends “e”, and receives “done!”, which is the string that either client or server will send after the last letter from the original string is received. After “done!” is transmitted, both client and server close their communications. How would i go about getting the first string and then going back and forth sending and reciving letters that make the string, and when finished either send or get done!? import java.io.IOException; import java.io.InputStream; import java.io.OutputStream; import java.io.PrintWriter; import java.net.Socket; import java.net.UnknownHostException; import java.util.Scanner; public class Program2 { public static void goClient() throws UnknownHostException, IOException{ String server = "localhost"; int port = 4321; Socket socket = new Socket(server, port); InputStream inStream = socket.getInputStream(); OutputStream outStream = socket.getOutputStream(); Scanner in = new Scanner(inStream); PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(outStream, true); String rec = ""; if(in.hasNext()){ rec = in.nextLine(); } char[] array = new char[rec.length()]; for(int i = 0; i < rec.length(); i++){ array[i] = rec.charAt(i); } while(in.hasNext()){ for(int x = 0; x < array.length + 1; x+=2){ String str = in.nextLine(); str = Character.toString(array[x]); out.println(str); } in.close(); socket.close(); } } }

  • bitshift large strings for encoding QR Codes

    - by icekreaman
    As an example, suppose a QR Code data stream contains 55 data words (each one byte in length) and 15 error correction words (again one byte). The data stream begins with a 12 bit header and ends with four 0 bits. So, 12 + 4 bits of header/footer and 15 bytes of error correction, leaves me 53 bytes to hold 53 alphanumeric characters. The 53 bytes of data and 15 bytes of ec are supplied in a string of length 68 (str68). The problem seems simple enough - concatenate 2 bytes of (right-shifted) header data with str68 and then left shift the entire 70 bytes by 4 bits. This is the first time in many years of programming that I have ever needed to do something like this, I am a c and bit shifting noob, so please be gentle... I have done a little investigation and so far have not been able to figure out how to bitshift 70 bytes of data; any help would be greatly appreciated. Larger QR codes can hold 2000 bytes of data...

  • C# Image.Clone to byte[] causes EDIT.COM to open on Windows XP

    - by JayDial
    It appears that cloning a Image and converting it to a byte array is causing EDIT.COM to open up on Windows XP machines. This does not happen on a Windows 7 machine. The application is a C# .NET 2.0 application. Does anyone have any idea why this may be happening? Here is my Image conversion code: public static byte[] CovertImageToByteArray(Image imageToConvert) { imageToConvert.Clone() as Image; if(clone == null) return null; imageToConvert.Dispose(); byte[] imageByteArray; using (MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream()) { clone.Save(ms, clone.RawFormat); imageByteArray = ms.ToArray(); } return imageByteArray; } public static Image ConvertByteArrayToImage(byte[] imageByteArray, ImageFormat formatOfImage) { Image image; using ( MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream(imageByteArray, 0, imageByteArray.Length)) { ms.Write(imageByteArray, 0, imageByteArray.Length); image = Image.FromStream(ms, true); } return image; } Thanks Justin

  • What really is the purpose of "base" keyword in c#?

    - by Pandiya Chendur
    Thus for used base class for some commom reusable methods in every page of my application... public class BaseClass:System.Web.UI.Page { public string GetRandomPasswordUsingGUID(int length) { string guidResult = System.Guid.NewGuid().ToString(); guidResult = guidResult.Replace("-", string.Empty); return guidResult.Substring(0, length); } } So if i want to use this method i would just do, public partial class forms_age_group : BaseClass { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { //i would just call it like this string pass = GetRandomPasswordUsingGUID(10); } } It does what i want but there is a "Base" keyword that deals with base class in c# ... I really want to know when should use base keyword in my derived class.... Any good example...

  • Get last element of pipeline in powershell

    - by dozacinc
    Hi, This might be weird, but stay with me. I want to get only the last element of a piped result to be assigned to a varaiable. I know how I would do this in "regular" code of course, but since this must be a one-liner. More specifically, I'm interested in getting the file extension when getting the result from an FTP request ListDirectoryDetails. Since this is done within a string expansion, I can't figure out the proper code. Currently I'm getting the last 3 hars, but that is real nasty. New-Object PSObject -Property @{ LastWriteTime = [DateTime]::ParseExact($tempDate, "MMM dd HH:mm",[System.Globalization.CultureInfo]::InvariantCulture) Type = $(if([int]$tempSize -eq 0) { "Directory" } else { $tempName.SubString($tempName.length-3,3) }) Name = $tempName Size = [int]$tempSize } My idea was doing something similar to $tempName.Split(".") | ? {$_ -eq $input[$input.Length-1]} that is, iterate over all, but only take out where the element I'm looking at is the last one of the input-array. What am I missing ? Fire at will /M

  • Why Doesn't This Java Code Skip Lines with #?

    - by Nathan
    I'm trying to allow an external .txt file that is read by a Java script be able to have some comments in the beginning of the file so others can easily edit it and add more to it. But if the file contains # (the sign designated for a line that is a comment) it just returns the error that there is a "Format Error in file" (the IOException - so it is getting past that first "IF"...) Can someone help? Here's the portion of the code that deals with commenting lines out of the .txt file being called earlier in the script: while ((line = br.readLine()) != null) { line = line.trim(); if (line.length() < 1 || line.charAt(0) == '#') { // ignore comments continue; } final String[] parts = line.split("="); if (parts.length != 2) { throw new IOException("Format error in file " + JLanguageTool.getDataBroker().getFromRulesDirAsUrl(getFileName()) + ", line: " + line); }

  • How to solve this problem with lists?

    what i don't understand in my task here what kind of list i can use, and if it should have 2 attributes key and value ? or only value? with pointers to another node ofc the task: "design a function which create a list using input from the keyboard _ the prefered solution. Assume that some magic stops the input; so the length of a list is not known in advance.(alternative solution: a function which creates explicitly a fixed list. However, all other function can not assume any knowledge about the length of lists). Necessary utilities( additional functions to be created): a function which deallocates the memory used for lists and a function which prints the content of the list. let the element of lists contain a letter. Design a function which create a copy of such list. can't also understand the list line !!!!!???

  • Why wouldn't I be able to establish a trust relationship for a SSL/TLS channel?

    - by Abe Miessler
    I have a piece of .NET code that is erroring out when it makes a call to HTTPWebRequest.GetRequestStream. Here is the error message: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel. I've read a few things that suggest that I might need a certificate on the machine running the code, but i'm not sure if that's true or how to do it. If I need to get a certificate, how do I do it? Code: var request = (HttpWebRequest)HttpWebRequest.Create(requestUrl); //my url request.Method = StringUtilities.ConvertToString(httpMethod); // Set the http method GET, POST, etc. if (postData != null) { request.ContentLength = postData.Length; request.ContentType = contentType; using (var dataStream = request.GetRequestStream()) { dataStream.Write(postData, 0, postData.Length); } }

  • Managing StringBuilder Resources in C#

    - by Jim Fell
    Hello. My C# (.NET 2.0) application has a StringBuilder variable with a capacity of 2.5MB. Obviously, I do not want to copy such a large buffer to a larger buffer space every time it fills. By that point, there is so much data in the buffer anyways, removing the older data is a viable option. Can anyone see any obvious problems with how I'm doing this (i.e. am I introducing more performance problems than I'm solving), or does it look okay? tText_c = new StringBuilder(2500000, 2500000); private void AppendToText(string text) { if (tText_c.Length * 100 / tText_c.Capacity > 95) { tText_c.Remove(0, tText_c.Length / 2); } tText_c.Append(text); } Thanks.

  • Regular expression in Ruby

    - by Sainath Mallidi
    Hi, Could anybody help me make a proper regular expression from a bunch of text in Ruby. I tried a lot but I don't know how to handle variable length titles. The string will be of format <sometext>title:"<actual_title>"<sometext>. I want to extract actual_title from this string. I tried /title:"."/ but it doesnt find any matches as it expects a closing quotation after one variable from opening quotation. I couldn't figure how to make it check for variable length of string. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • http authenitcation in xcode

    - by user313100
    I am trying to make twitter work in my app and everything works fine except the code does not seem to recognize an error from twitter. If the username/password are not valid, I get an error message through this function: - (void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveData:(NSData *)data { NSString* strData = [[[NSString alloc] initWithBytes:[data bytes] length:[data length] encoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding] autorelease]; NSLog(@"Received data: %@", strData ) ; return ; } It prints: Received data: Could not authenticate you. . However, the app continues to the post a tweet view I have and ignores the error. Obviously, I do not have something setup right to detect such an error from twitter so my question is how do I get xcode to recognize an error like this? This uses basic http auth btw and don't mention anything about OAuth...just trying to get this to work for now.
