  • Eclipse javascript character encoding

    Hi, I'd like to display some language specific characters from javascript but I can't. My app is a Java webapp and the front end is jQuery. All the characters that are sended from the server - in a JSP or with AJAX - are displayed properly. When I want to display some text hardcoded in to the javascript file it's broken. I'm using Eclipse. In the JSP's header I use: <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="UTF-8"%> I've tried this (charset in the script element) too: <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"><c:import url="/JS/mainJS.js" /></script> In my Eclipse I've set the project properties / text file encoding to UTF-8 AND I've checked the JS files' resource properties / text file encoding that is UTF-8 too.     Without telling everyone too much about my new idea for a website, Pretty much I need help, maybe someone can help write it up, with a site that has a simple map that allows any user to double click the map and make a marker. When the marker comes up I just want Title and Description available for edit(only once, so others cant change it).   • Jquery draggable + toggleClass problem..

  • Video playback with jQuery Mobile and Phonegap

    I'm fairly new to mobile apps, so am trying to knock up a simple video player using Phonegap and jQuery Mobile. The problem is, jQuery mobile appears to be blocking the video playback for some reason. I don't know jQuery mobile at all, but searching in the js for a reference to the video elements doesn't show up, so I've no idea what is blocking it. The code works fine in Chrome and Firefox. There are no console messages in Xcode. I also tried hooking up to http://debug.phonegap.com/ but this gave no error messages either. Any ideas??

    Hi, i want to get the domain extention (at least i hope it is called this way) from the site name the user is currently on. so from www.bbc.co.uk it's co.uk and www.google.com = .com http://stackoverflow.com/questions/ask = .com etc. especially the ones with the double name (like co.uk) gives me headaches.... The mini buffer explorer just automatically opens after I open the second file(press Enter in project plugin window), then Mini Buffer Explorer opens as the third window on the top of my screen. But after I switch back to project plugin window and press Enter to open the third file, a fourth window opened! It seems project plugin can't overwrite the second file's window.     Hi, I am just learning Java EE, I have created a Persistence entity for a User object, which is stored in the database. I am now trying to create a JSP page that will allow a client to enter a new User object into the System. I am unsure of how the JSP page interacts with the User facade, the tutorials are confusing me a little.
