Cannot seem to communicate between views

Hi all I have written a MVVM prototype as a learning exercise and I am struggling to understand how I can communicate between views.Let me explain I have a treeview on the left (leftSideView) ListView on the right (rightSideView) MainWindow (includes the 2 views mentioned above and a splitter) What I have implemented does not work and I would like you if you can point out where I am going wrong or if there is a better way of doing it. you can download the quick prototype from here http://cid-9db5ae91a2948485.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/WpfCommunicationBetweenViews.zip For sure I am doing something wrong with the bindind. checkbox selected value is lost after coming back to the pagei.e., viewstate value is lost with use

In the left navigation i have a series of check boxes and a grid view in the page body.Grid view results changes based on the check box selection,whenever i click on the links in grid view it goes to the second page and there is a link on the page which takes me back to the first page,but the check box selected value is maintained for the first time only and if we repeat the same process for the second time and i see that the first time selection of the check box is maintained.Here the grid view is placed in update panel and the check box in the left is called using .... AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="cphLeftNavigation". I've tried removing the above code referring the cphLeftNavigation and i see the results are coming up correctly and the last selected check box value is being maintained correctly and i want the same functionality to be implemented with/without update panel. Can anyone let me know,what exactly should i change to implement the above mentioned functionality.

Making a row of divs all be the same height using CSS

I have a row of divs that must all be the same height, but I have no way of knowing what that height might be ahead of time (the content comes from an external source). I initially tried placing the divs in an enclosing div and floated them left. I then set their height to be "100%", but this had no perceptible effect. By setting the height on the enclosing div to a fixed-height I could then get the floated divs to expand, but only up to the fixed height of the container. When the content in one of the divs exceeded the fixed height, it spilled over; the floated divs refused to expand. I Googled this floated-divs-of-the-same-height problem and apparently there's no way to do it using CSS. So now I am trying to use a combination of relative and absolute positioning instead of floats. Conceptual inheritance implementation

Hi there, I'm writing a spatial data structure and I have a doubt about what's the best NODE implementation. According to my design I have an abstract node entity and three classes which inherit from it: EMPTYNODE, FULLNODE, INTERNALNODE. The first one has no particular data. The second one has 1 reference to a generic element. The third one has 2 references to other nodes. I have found several ways to implement this situation (that I have already coded) but I can't decide what's the best. The first solution that I have found is to use a single class Node that potentially performs all the operation in this way: private static class Node { private Elem elem = null; private Node left = null, right = null; public Elem getElem() { assert isFull(); return elem; } public boolean isEmpty() { return elem == null && left == null; } public boolean isFull() { return elem != null; } public boolean isInternal() { return elem == null && left != null; } } The second solution is to write an explicit division by classes where every class offers only its methods. I encounter the a problem: I have a view controller like this. TO make tool bar up when the keyboard appear, I move the self.view to up. [self.view setFrame:CGRectMake(self.view.frame.origin.x, self.view.frame.origin.y + keyboardFrame.size.height * (up ? -1 : 1), self.view.frame.size.width, self.view.frame.size.height)]; Now I want to click the left button in the tool bar, and appear the view that frame is same as the this keyboard. But where can I add this view? if add the subview to the self.view, it will move up with the self.view on the top of the keyboard, not cover. I'm a beginner about IOS, I have no idea about it, and have searched, but got nothing about this. another question, IF when the toolbar at the bottom, I aslo want to click the left button on it to show the view(the animation and frame both are the same as the keyboard), how can I do ? i would like to convert the touch location as a world coordinate in my tile game. Generating a beveled edge for a 2D polygon

I'm trying to programmatically generate beveled edges for geometric polygons. For example, given an array of 4 vertices defining a square, I want to generate something like this. But computing the vertices of the inner shape is baffling me. Simply creating a copy of the original shape and then scaling it down will not produce the desired result most of the time. My algorithm so far involves analyzing adjacent edges (triples of vertices; e.g., the bottom-left, top-left, and top-right vertices of a square). From there, I need to find the angle between them, and then create a vertex somewhere along that angle, depending on how deep I want the bevel to be. And because I don't have much of a math background, that's where I'm stuck. How do I find that center angle? Or is there a much simpler way of attacking this problem?

People seem to be easily confused by the right-to-left reading order of types, where char*& is "a reference to a pointer to a character", or a "character-pointer reference"; do any languages with explicit references make use of a left-to-right reading order, such as &*char/ref ptr char? I'm working on a little language project, and legibility is one of my key concerns. It seems to me that this is one of those questions to which it's easy for a person but hard for a search engine to provide an answer. Thanks in advance!

centering ul so that columns will be centered too

In my page I want it so that when you resize the page past the point of the pictures, that the pictures will go into another row, all the way so each picture has it's own row. And then potentially I won't need any media queries. But unfortunaltely I can't find a way to center. I have tried everything I can think of, aside of making hundreds of media queries with different positioning. I can't make it a block because then it won't go into rows, I have tried margin: 0 auto;. I have tried changing the padding, I have even tried using the html align="center". Nothing is working. SELECT SUBSTRING(LEFT('0',4-LEN(CAST(HourMil AS VARCHAR)))+CAST(HourMil AS VARCHAR),1,2)+':'+SUBSTRING(LEFT('0',4-LEN(CAST(HourMil AS VARCHAR)))+CAST(HourMil AS VARCHAR),3,2) FROM MYTABLE but I think this code can be improved.

The extra field in the intent is being left behind. Is this a bug or an intended behavior?
