  • How can I force the text go to the button of the panel?

    - by Roman
At the moment I have the following code which works fine. label = new JLabel(panelLabel,SwingConstants.CENTER); outputPanel.add(label,BorderLayout.CENTER); I get the text in the center of the panel (in terms of the left-right position as well as in terms of the top-bottom). Now I want to set the position to the bottom (and center in terms of "left-right"). I tried to use SOUTH instead of the CENTER in the first line. Compiler does not complains but during the execution i get IllegalArgumentException: HorizontalAlignment. What is that?

  • Chrome Mobile: The Mobile Web Developers Toolkit (Part 1)

Chrome Mobile: The Mobile Web Developers Toolkit (Part 1) Building for mobile web requires a different mindset than desktop web development, and a different set of tools. The tools we're used to using often aren't available or would take up too much screen real estate. And going back to the dark ages of tweak/save/deploy/test/repeat isn't exactly optimal, so what can we do? Thankfully there are a number of great options - from remote debugging to emulation, mobile browsers are offering more and more tools to make our lives easier. We'll take a look at a couple of tools that you can use today to make cross platform mobile web development easier and then peer into the crystal ball to see what tools may bring in the future. Join us for Part 1 - as we take a look at a few boiler plates, frameworks and helpful libraries for building the mobile web. • How to figure out why ssh session does not exit sometimes?

    - by WilliamKF
I have a C++ application that uses ssh to summon a connection to the server. I find that sometimes the ssh session is left lying around long after the command to summon the server has exited. Looking at the Centos4 man page for ssh I see the following: The session terminates when the command or shell on the remote machine exits and all X11 and TCP/IP connections have been closed. The exit status of the remote program is returned as the exit status of ssh. I see that the command has exited, so I imagine not all the X11 and TCP/IP connections have been closed. How can I figure out which of these ssh is waiting for so that I can fix my summon command's C++ application to clean up whatever is being left behind that keeps the ssh open. I wonder why this failure only occurs some of the time and not on every invocation? It seems to occur approximately 50% of the time. What could my C++ application be leaving around to trigger this?

  • Why are items being placed below?

    - by Adam DePolo
This is really confusing and I have never had this occur. For my computer, it is fine. But for anyone else's computer I have tried, it screws up. So on my site, designatease.com , the second bar down, it places the fifth item down below the first four. I am not sure why it is doing this. I want them to span across the bar but the stop at about half way. Help me out SOF. • I always get stuck here... Divs not behaving properly (alignment issues)

    - by user345501
    Hi, I don't know why, after encountering this problem dozens of times, the answer always seems different and I can't seem to work my way through the problem-solving process, but here I am again with misaligned divs. I've got 3rows encasing columns. each row is to have (at least) 3 columns (and probably some nested divs down the line, but I'm not even there yet). I'm trying to make a fluid chunk in the center ultimately, with pretty corners. However, my top row is already showing signs of misbehaving. .O Please help with my silly questions! Cheers and thanks in advance! <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Untitled Document</title> </head> <style type="text/css"> #wrap { margin:auto; width:80%; height:75%; border: solid #066 1px;} #row1 { width:100%; height:10%; background:#F20; } #r1c1 { float:left; width:05%;} #r1c2 { float:left; width:80%} #r1c3 { clear:both; width:05%; } #row2 { float:none; width:100%; background:#0C6; } #r2c1 {} #r2c2 {} #r2c3 {} #row3 { width:100%; height:15%; background:#00F; clear:both; } #r3c1 {} #r3c2 {} #r3c3 {} </style> <body> <div id="wrap"> <div id="row1"> <div id="r1c1">LEFT</div> <div id="r1c2">CENT</div> <div id="r1c3">RIGHT</div> </div> <div id="row2"> MIDDLE </div> <div id="row3"> BOTTOM </div> </div> </body> </html>

  • jQuery offset combined with jQuery UI doesn't update on drag

    - by Constructor
I need to get the offset of the element that is being dragged and I use: $(function(){ $(".draggable").draggable({ stop: function(){ var offset = $("#boxone").offset(); alert(offset.left); } }); }); the element is positioned absolute and has a CSS of: left:100px; that is the value I get on the alert when I drag the element (even multiple times). What I want is to get it to alert the current offset (if I drag in 200px to the right it should say 300)

  • make img height 100% of td

    - by kristina childs
I'm creating an HTML email and since background images can't be used on anything but <body> thought I could get around this by making a border image 100% height within a cell. Perhaps it was wishful thinking? I've searched at the solutions that worked in the past no longer work in modern browsers. Is there any special trick to making this happen without setting a hard height for the cell? Here are the things I've tried so far: <td width="25" style="margin:0; padding:0;"> <img src="http://www.mysite.com/images/side-left.jpg" width="25" height="100%" alt="border" style="margin:0; padding:0; display: block;" /> </td> stretches the image to 100% height of the entire table (even though the table is nested in a <td width="25" height="100%" style="margin:0; padding:0;"> <div style="height:100%; diplay: block;"> <img src="http://www.mysite.com/images/side-left.jpg" width="25" height="100%" alt="border" style="margin:0; padding:0; display: block;" /> </div> </td> ditto <td width="25" height="1" style="margin:0; padding:0;"> <div style="height:100%; diplay: block;"> <img src="http://www.mysite.com/images/side-left.jpg" width="25" height="100%" alt="border" style="margin:0; padding:0; display: block;" /> </div> </td> setting a smaller td size does not force it to strectch as expected. bummer.

  • Shouldn’t GridView’s RowStyle-HorizontalAlign property overwrite CSS’s text-align property?

    - by AspOnMyNet
    a) As far as I know, GridView’s RowStyle-HorizontalAlign property should overwrite CSS’s text-align property, and thus text inside GridView's cells should be located on the left side of the cells, but is instead moved to the right side. Why is that? b) Similarly, RowStyle-Font-Bold should overwrite CSS’s font-weight property and thus fonts shouldn’t be in bold. But again, CSS’s property overwrites RowStyle’s Font-Bold property. Why? <div id="someClass"> <asp:GridView ID="gvwShowUsers" runat="server" > <RowStyle BackColor="#FFFBD6" ForeColor="#333333" Font-Bold="false" HorizontalAlign="Left" /> <Columns> <asp:BoundField DataField="UserName" HeaderText="UserName" /> </Columns> </asp:GridView> </div> CSS file: #someClass td { font-weight:bolder; text-align:right; } thanx

  • Netbeans or Eclipse for C++?

    - by Robert Gould
I'm currently working on a pet project and need to do C++ development on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Solaris, and I've narrowed it down to Netbeans and Eclipse, so I was wonderig which is more solid as a C++ editor. I just need solid editing, good autocompletion for templated code ad external libraries, and project file management, the build tools are external, so thats irrelevant here, for my comparison. Thus which is a better choice? Note: I know I should be using emacs or vim, but the issue is, my theory at least, that I'm left handed, so I use my right side (design, creativity) of the brain more than the left side (logic, memory), so I just simply cannot use emacs or vim, my brain simply isn't compatible, I tried them many times too, even used emacs for a few months but it drove me crazy... Thanks

  • Gone in 60 Seconds: An Insecure Database is an Easy Target

    - by Troy Kitch
According to the recent Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, 98% of breached data originates from database servers and nearly half are compromised in less than a minute! Almost all victims are not even aware of a breach until a third party notifies them and nearly all breaches could have been avoided through the use of basic controls. Join us for this November 28th webcast to learn more about the evolving threats to databases that have resulted in over 1 billion stolen records. Also, hear how organizations can mitigate risks by adopting a defense-in-depth strategy that focuses on basic controls to secure data at the source - the database. There's no turning back the clock on stolen data, but you can put in place controls to ensure your organization won't be the next headline. • Speaking at SharePoint Saturday Cincinnati

    - by Enrique Lima
I will be not only attending SPS Cincinnati, but also speaking. And I am very happy and excited about it! The topic: The difference between learning and training: Creating a SharePoint based Learning Management System The description: Training and learning have been defined as synonyms by many organizations. The difference is, training has focused on a classic and traditional model. Learning on the other hand, refers to achieving something from the receiving side of the story, not just delivery. In focusing on driving adoption it is important to have a strategy where learning is also part of the plan. This session focuses on how to create a SharePoint Learning Plan, and how to deliver the plan through the implementation of a Learning Management System. Come join us! More information about SharePoint Saturday Cincinnati can be found here: http://sharepointsaturday.org/cincinnati/default.aspx

  • What is wrong with these jquery statements?

    - by Pandiya Chendur
    I cant able to get this jquery statement to work on page load but it works once when i refresh F5 the page..... <script type="text/javascript"> var itemsPerPage = 5; $(document).ready(function() { getRecordspage(0, itemsPerPage); var maxvalues = $("#HfId").val(); alert(maxvalues); $(".pager").pagination(maxvalues, { //my syntax }); }); </script> On the initial pageload alert(maxvalues); is nothing... But when i refresh it shows the value of maxvalues which is in the hidden field HfId because it is assigned in the function getRecordspage.... Why this strange behaviour.... Any suggestion... EDIT: function getRecordspage(curPage) { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "Default.aspx/GetRecords", data: "{'currentPage':" + (curPage + 1) + ",'pagesize':5}", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json", success: function(jsonObj) { $("#ResultsDiv").empty(); $("#HfId").val(""); var strarr = jsonObj.d.split('##'); var jsob = jQuery.parseJSON(strarr[0]); var divs = ''; $.each(jsob.Table, function(i, employee) { divs += '<div class="resultsdiv"><br /><span class="resultName">' + employee.Emp_Name + '</span><span class="resultfields" style="padding-left:100px;">Category&nbsp;:</span>&nbsp;<span class="resultfieldvalues">' + employee.Desig_Name + '</span><br /><br /><span id="SalaryBasis" class="resultfields">Salary Basis&nbsp;:</span>&nbsp;<span class="resultfieldvalues">' + employee.SalaryBasis + '</span><span class="resultfields" style="padding-left:25px;">Salary&nbsp;:</span>&nbsp;<span class="resultfieldvalues">' + employee.FixedSalary + '</span><span style="font-size:110%;font-weight:bolder;padding-left:25px;">Address&nbsp;:</span>&nbsp;<span class="resultfieldvalues">' + employee.Address + '</span></div>'; }); $("#ResultsDiv").append(divs); $(".resultsdiv:even").addClass("resultseven"); $(".resultsdiv").hover(function() { $(this).addClass("resultshover"); }, function() { $(this).removeClass("resultshover"); }); $("#HfId").val(strarr[1]); } }); }

  • EXCEL - Locking a Cell from User input whilst allowing a Linked combobox?

    - by Christopher Leach
I have a Protected Worksheet which is a checklist with a series of checkpoints. Each row has Item and Description cells that are locked. Each row has several columns with its contents to be set by a ComboBox and a text input column. Both i have left unlocked. I have Locked the the Item and Description columns and left only the 'Select Unlocked Cells' checked via Sheet Protection. I have one ComboBox on the worksheet that moves around and adjusts its LinkedCell and its Content list using the worksheets SelectionChanged event. When the user selects a cell to bring up the drop down list, the user is able to type into the cell and the Drop Down Box disappears. What is the best way to keep the cell unlocked so it can be selectable(as 'Select Locked Cells" is unchecked) however stop the user from being able to type in the cell and to allow the cells contents to become modifiable only via the ComboBox?

  • Managing tabs and their effects.

    - by VBeginner
I have two separate areas in my form. Left side for radio buttons, combo boxes, etc. Right side for tabs and even tabs within tabs. For each tab selected, I'd like to display different controls on the left side for use in that tab. I've tried using many things, including focus, click, etc. Nothing seems to work the way I intend it to. Especially on the tabs within the tabs. Thank you.
