  • Compact Framework - ListView like control ?

    - by no9
Hello. I have been playing with Compact Framework lately and i need some advice. I have a collection of items. One of the properties on each item is a string type that holds XML. This XML defines image, font, style etc... Im looking for a control (similar to listView) that would replace listBox control. Im not satisfied with listView control, because it is very limited on items level. The control has to be dynamic enough so that my parser could parse the XML and customise the control. For a start i would like to show an image and perhaps some font styles for each row in the control. Here is a sample what im trying to achieve: Any suggestions?

  • Using C# Type as generic

    - by I Clark
    I'm trying to create a generic list from a specific Type that is retrieved from elsewhere: Type listType; // Passed in to function, could be anything var list = _service.GetAll<listType>(); However I get a build error of: The type or namespace name 'listType' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Is this even possible or am I setting foot onto C# 4 Dynamic territory? As a background: I want to automatically load all lists with data from the repository. The code below get's passed a Form Model whose properties are iterated for any IEnum (where T inherits from DomainEntity). I want to fill the list with objects of the Type the list made of from the repository. public void LoadLists(object model) { foreach (var property in model.GetType() .GetProperties(BindingFlags.Public | BindingFlags.Instance | BindingFlags.SetProperty)) { if (IsEnumerableOfNssEntities(property.PropertyType)) { var listType = property.PropertyType.GetGenericArguments()[0]; var list = _repository.Query<listType>().ToList(); property.SetValue(model, list, null); } } }

  • Linking Boost to my C++ project in Eclipse

    - by MahlerFive
I'm trying to get the Boost library working in my C++ projects in Eclipse. I can successfully build when using header-only libraries in Boost such as the example simple program in the "Getting Started" guide using the lambda header. I cannot get my project to successfully link to the regex Boost library as shown later in the guide. Under my project properties - c/c++ build - settings - tool settings tab - libraries, I have added "libboost_regex" to the Libraries box, and "C:\Program Files\boost\boost_1_42_0\bin.v2\libs" to the Library search path box since this is where all the .lib files are. I've even tried adding "libboost_regex-mgw34-mt-d-1_42.lib" to the libraries box instead of "libboost_regex" since that is the exact file name, but this did not work either. I keep getting an error that says "cannot find -llibboost_regex" when I try to build my project. Any ideas as to how I can fix this?

  • Issue with child of custom Decorator class in WPF (c#)

    - by galacticgrug
I need a custom border that renders a little differently than a normal border. I made a class that inherited from Decorator as follows class BetterBorder : Decorator { protected override Size ArrangeOverride(Size arrangeSize) { return arrangeSize; } protected override void OnRender(DrawingContext dc) { //these values are calculated elsewhere dc.DrawGeometry(backgroundBrush, borderPen, pathGeometry); } } //Properties and helper methods below this All of this works fine until I try to add a child to the control, the control can be added but is not visible and seems to be moved off BetterBorders visible client area. If I inherit from Border everything works fine, what am I missing?

  • ASP.NET MVC - Add XHTML into validation error messages

    - by Neil
Hi, Just starting with ASP.Net MVC and have hit a bit of a snag regarding validation messages. I've a custom validation attribute assigned to my class validate several properties on my model. When this validation fails, we'd like the error message to contain XHTML mark-up, including a link to help page, (this was done in the original WebForms project as a ASP:Panel). At the moment the XHTML tags such as "< a ", in the ErrorMessage are being rendered to the screen. Is there any way to get the ValidationSummary to render the XHTML markup correctly? Or is there a better way to handle this kind of validation? Thanks

  • Jquery set defaults for all instances of a plugin

    - by Chris
    Given the following plugin how would you set defaults for all the instances? I would like it to work the same as $.datepicker.setDefaults(). (function ($) { $.fn.borderSwitcher = function (options) { defaults = { borderColor: 'Black', borderWidth: '1px', borderStyle: 'solid' }; return this.each(function () { var settings = $.extend(defaults, options); $(this).focus(function () { //find a better way to set border properties var props = settings.borderStyle + ' ' + settings.borderWidth + ' ' + settings.borderColor; $(this).css('border', props); }); $(this).blur(function () { $(this).css('border', ''); }); }); }; })(jQuery);

  • Get the property, as a string, from an Expression<Func<TModel,TProperty>>

    - by Jaxidian
I use some strongly-typed expressions that get serialized to allow my UI code to have strongly-typed sorting and searching expressions. These are of type Expression<Func<TModel,TProperty>> and are used as such: SortOption.Field = (p => p.FirstName);. I've gotten this working perfectly for this simple case. The code that I'm using for parsing the "FirstName" property out of there is actually reusing some existing functionality in a third-party product that we use and it works great, until we start working with deeply-nested properties(SortOption.Field = (p => p.Address.State.Abbreviation);). This code has some very different assumptions in the need to support deeply-nested properties. As for what this code does, I don't really understand it and rather than changing that code, I figured I should just write from scratch this functionality. However, I don't know of a good way to do this. I suspect we can do something better than doing a ToString() and performing string parsing. So what's a good way to do this to handle the trivial and deeply-nested cases? Requirements: Given the expression p => p.FirstName I need a string of "FirstName". Given the expression p => p.Address.State.Abbreviation I need a string of "Address.State.Abbreviation" While it's not important for an answer to my question, I suspect my serialization/deserialization code could be useful to somebody else who finds this question in the future, so it is below. Again, this code is not important to the question - I just thought it might help somebody. Note that DynamicExpression.ParseLambda comes from the Dynamic LINQ stuff and Property.PropertyToString() is what this question is about. /// <summary> /// This defines a framework to pass, across serialized tiers, sorting logic to be performed. /// </summary> /// <typeparam name="TModel">This is the object type that you are filtering.</typeparam> /// <typeparam name="TProperty">This is the property on the object that you are filtering.</typeparam> [Serializable] public class SortOption<TModel, TProperty> : ISerializable where TModel : class { /// <summary> /// Convenience constructor. /// </summary> /// <param name="property">The property to sort.</param> /// <param name="isAscending">Indicates if the sorting should be ascending or descending</param> /// <param name="priority">Indicates the sorting priority where 0 is a higher priority than 10.</param> public SortOption(Expression<Func<TModel, TProperty>> property, bool isAscending = true, int priority = 0) { Property = property; IsAscending = isAscending; Priority = priority; } /// <summary> /// Default Constructor. /// </summary> public SortOption() : this(null) { } /// <summary> /// This is the field on the object to filter. /// </summary> public Expression<Func<TModel, TProperty>> Property { get; set; } /// <summary> /// This indicates if the sorting should be ascending or descending. /// </summary> public bool IsAscending { get; set; } /// <summary> /// This indicates the sorting priority where 0 is a higher priority than 10. /// </summary> public int Priority { get; set; } #region Implementation of ISerializable /// <summary> /// This is the constructor called when deserializing a SortOption. /// </summary> protected SortOption(SerializationInfo info, StreamingContext context) { IsAscending = info.GetBoolean("IsAscending"); Priority = info.GetInt32("Priority"); // We just persisted this by the PropertyName. • Service injection into Controller (Spring MVC)

    - by ThaSaleni
Hi I have a Spring web application, I have built it up to the controller stage and I could inject my Daos, into my Services fine. Now when I want to inject my Service into my controller i get an error for dependency with the Dao and further down the sessionFactory. I don't want to inject these again cause this will ultimately lead me to eventually create a data source but I have my Daos for data access and they already know about sessionFactory. Am I missing something here? here's the sample code snippets My Service: @Service("productService") @Transactional public class ProductServiceImpl implements ProductService { private ProductDao productDao; @Autowired public void setDao(ProductDao productDao) { this.productDao = productDao; } My Controller @Controller @WebServlet(name="controllerServlet", loadOnStartup= urlPatterns=...}) public class ControllerServlet extends HttpServlet { boolean isUserLogedIn =false; @Autowired private ProductService productService; public void setProductService(ProductService productService){ this.productService = productService; } Servlet-context Stack trace javax.servlet.ServletException: Servlet.init() for servlet mvcServlet threw exception org.apache.catalina.authenticator.AuthenticatorBase.invoke(AuthenticatorBase.java:472) org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:98) org.apache.catalina.valves.AccessLogValve.invoke(AccessLogValve.java:927) org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:407) org.apache.coyote.http11.AbstractHttp11Processor.process(AbstractHttp11Processor.java:999) org.apache.coyote.AbstractProtocol$AbstractConnectionHandler.process(AbstractProtocol.java: 565) org.apache.tomcat.util.net.AprEndpoint$SocketProcessor.run(AprEndpoint.java:1812) java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.runTask(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:886) java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:908) java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:662) root cause org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'controllerServlet': Injection of autowired dependencies failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Could not autowire field: private com.phumzile.acme.services.ProductService com.phumzile.acme.client.web.controller.ControllerServlet.productService; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.NoSuchBeanDefinitionException: No matching bean of type [com.phumzile.acme.services.ProductService] found for dependency: expected at least 1 bean which qualifies as autowire candidate for this dependency. • C# working with decorated members

    - by Ronnie Overby
Take this class for example: public class Applicant : UniClass<Applicant> { [Key] public int Id { get; set; } [Field("X.838.APP.SSN")] public string SSN { get; set; } [Field("APP.SORT.LAST.NAME")] public string FirstName { get; set; } [Field("APP.SORT.FIRST.NAME")] public string LastName { get; set; } [Field("X.838.APP.MOST.RECENT.APPL")] public int MostRecentApplicationId { get; set; } } How would I go about getting all of the properties that are decorated with the field attribute, get their types, and then assign a value to them?

  • Why Is my json-object from AJAX not understood by javascript, even with 'json' dataType?

    - by pete
My js code simply gets a json object from my server, but I think it should be automatically parsed and turned into an object with properties, yet it's not allowing access properly. $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: '/misc/json-sample.js', data: {href: path}, // THIS IS THE POST DATA THAT IS PASSED IN TO THE DRUPAL MENU CALL TO GET THE MENU... dataType: 'json', success: function (datax) { if (datax.debug) { alert('Debug data: ' + datax.debug); } else { alert('No debug data: ' + datax.toSource() ) ; } The /misc/json-sample.js file is: [ { "path": "examplemodule/parent1/child1/grandchild1", "title": "First grandchild option", "children": false } ] (I have also been trying to return that object from drupal as follows, and the same results.) Drupal version of misc/json-sample.js: $items[] = array( 'path' = 'examplemodule/parent1/child1/grandchild1', 'title' = t('First grandchild option'), 'debug' = t('debug me!'), 'children' = FALSE ); print drupal_to_js($items); What happens (in FF, which has the toSource() capability) is the alert with 'No debug data: [ { "path": "examplemodule/parent1/child1/grandchild1", "title": "First grandchild option", "children": false } ] Thanks

  • Pattern for null settings

    - by user21243
Hi, I would like to hear your thoughts and ideas about this one. in my application i have controls that are binded to objects properties. but.. the controls always looks like that: a check box, label that explain the settings and then the edited control (for ex: text box) when unchecking the checkbox i disable the text box (using binding) when the checkbox is unchecked i want the property to contain null, and when it is checked i would like the property to contain the text box's text. Of course text box can be NumericUpDown, ComboBox, DatePicker etc.. Do you have any smart way of doing it using binding or do i have to do everything on code; I really would like to a build a control that supports that and re-use it all over Ideas? Thanks,

  • Is the JavaScript RegExp implicit method deprecated?

    - by Eric
So everyone knows what I mean by "implicit methods"? They're like those default properties from the Windows COM days of yore, where you could type something like val = obj(arguments) and it would be interpreted as val = obj.defaultMethod(arguments) I just found out JavaScript has the same thing: the default method of a RegExp object appears to be 'exec', as in /(\w{4})/('yip jump man')[1] ==> jump This even works when the RegExp object is assigned to a variable, and even when it's created with the RegExp constructor, instead of /.../, which is good news to us fans of referential transparency. Where is this documented, and/or is it deprecated?

  • Updating Silverlight with data. JSON or WCF?

    - by Alastair Pitts
We will be using custom Silverlight 4.0 controls on our ASP.NET MVC web page to display data from our database and was wondering what the most efficient method was? We will be having returned values of up to 100k records (of 2 properties per record). We have a test that uses the HTML Bridge from Javascript to Silverlight. First we perform a post request to a controller action in the MVC web app and return JSON. This JSON is then passed to the Silverlight where it is parsed and the UI updated. This seems to be rather slow, with the stored procedure (the select) taking about 3 seconds and the entire update in the browser about 10-15sec. Having a brief look on the net, it seems that WCF is another option, but not having used it, I wasn't sure of it's capability or suitability. Does anyone have any experiences or recommendations?

  • Do I have to remove VS 2010 beta1 in order to get a web app to work on asp.net 2.0?

    - by Galilyou
I think the title is enough :). I have VS 2010 beta1 installed, and I wish to run an asp.net mvc application on my local IIS. The problem is, the asp.net 4.0 runtime is selected by default for all the web sites, when I try to change it to asp.net 2.0, I get the following error message: I click yes, then ok, and when I get back to the ASP.NET tab of my site's properties, I see the 4.0 version is selected back again! Do I have to remove VS 2010 in order to get this to work? (hopefully not) Ps: I'm using windows XP and IIS 5.1

  • Uri for bitmap in subfolder (c# wpf)

    - by the empirical programmer
I have a wpf app where I'm using an image. To reference the image I use: Uri uri = new Uri("pack://application:,,,/assemblyName;Component/myIcon.png"); BitmapImage(uri) If I add the png directly under the csproj file (with its properties BuildAction=Resource) then it works fine. But I want to move it to a subfolder under the csproj. Another SO question asked about bitmaps\uri's (857732) and an answer linked to this msdn. So I tried : Uri uri = new Uri("pack://application:,,,/assemblyName;Component/Icons/myIcon.png"); But that did not work. Any ideas?

  • Enumerating all combinations of lists of different types

    - by jball
Given two IEnumberables of different types, what is the best practice (considering readability and maintainability) for iterating over both lists to perform an action on all possible combinations? My initial solution was to use nested foreach loops, iterating over the first IEnumerable, and then within that loop, iterating over the second IEnumerable and passing the value from the outer and the current loop into the target method. Eg.: enum ParamOne { First, Second, Etc } List<int> paramTwo = new List<int>() { 1, 2, 3 }; void LoopExample() { foreach (ParamOne alpha in Enum.GetValues(typeof(ParamOne))) { foreach (int beta in paramTwo) { DoSomething(alpha, beta); } } } I tried to restructure it with LINQ, but ended up with something that had no obvious advantages and seemed less intuitive. A search here shows lots of questions about nesting foreachs to iterate over child properties, but I couldn't find anything about iterating over two distinct lists.

  • SOS: AudioFormat when writing to file in FreeTTS

    - by user330793
Very annoying problem. I have developed a freeTTS application of the freetts class that write captured audio to file however I am having some very annoying problems. When setting the audio player to singlefileaudio player I try to also set the audioformat with my own default values for sampleRate, sampleSizeInBits, channels, signed and bigEndian. Now I access AudioPlayer.get methods to show these values in runtime just to ensure they are set to what I set them and they match those values. However when file writing completes and I check the properties of the resulting wave file, they are set to the audioPlayer default settings. Normally this will be fine except I have to read the files into another application which has fixed audio property settings so I always get a resulting output that sounds like am fast forwarding the sound and listening to it at the same time. Obviously because of the different sampling rates. I need help please. Thanx, Henry

  • Scala model-view-presenter, traits

    - by Ralph
I am a fan of Martin Fowler's (deprecated) model-view-presenter pattern. I am writing a Scala view class containing several button classes. I would like to include methods to set the action properties of the buttons, to be called by the presenter. A typical code fragment looks like this: private val aButton = new JButton def setAButtonAction(action: Action): Unit = { aButton.setAction(action) } This code is repeated for each button. If Java/Scala had the C preprocessor, I would create a macro to generate this code, given the button name (no lectures on the evils of the C preprocessor, please). This code is obviously very verbose and repetitive. Is there any better way way to do this in Scala, perhaps using traits? Please hold the lectures about scala.swing. I looking for a general pattern here.

To navigate, Right click on 'Mycomputer' - Properties - Advanced tab - click on SETTINGS of 'Startup and recovery' = 2nd displayed check box. The value thought to be in c:\boot.ini file, but it has value of other timeout 'Time to display other operating systems'. After some searching, i found that 'c:\windows\bootstat.dat' file holds the timeout value for 'Time to display recovery options when needed'... but, i am not able to decode the .dat file or edit that file.. any suggestions would he helpful for me.. • Accessing form's resources (resx file) from code

    - by kzen
If I have a form Frm1.cs that is using some icons, images or other resources, these resources get stored in the form's resx file (Frm1.resx). My simple question is how do I access these resources from code? As a workaround I can store these resources in the Project resource file and they will be available via Properties.Resources.resourcename. However, similar syntax does not work for the resources stored in the form's resource file. While searching for a solution I have come across several references to ResourceManager class but was not able to find a way to use that to access the form's resources...

  • E4X in ActionScript

    - by Brian Genisio
Hey all, Looking at the E4X implementation in ActionScript, it occurs to me that they had to figure out how to do three things that I am not sure can be done within ActionScript regularly: Properties/Getters prefixed with @: var myAttribute = xmlPerson.@name; Nameless functions for filtering: xmlData.person.(/* predicate */) lambda syntax for predicates: xmlData.person.(@name == "Brian") So here is my question: Are these just one-off capabilities (much like Vector.<>) they put in just for E4X, therefore keeping out of reach for us? Or do we, as ActionScript developers, have access to these features? More specifically, I'd love to get access to the expression tree of that lambda predicate for my own code (not tied to the XML classes in any way). I figured out that this is called the "filter operator"... but I am not sure how to harness it. Not sure I can... since ActionScript does not allow for operator overloading :(

  • Flex - weird display behavior on large number of Canvas

    - by itarato
Hi, I have a Flex app (SDK 3.5 - FP10) that does mindmap trees. Every node is a Canvas (I'm using Canvas specific properties so I needed it). It has a shadow effect, background color and some small ui element on it (like icons, texts...). It works perfectly until it goes over ~700 nodes (Canvas). Over that number it shows grey rectangles: http://yfrog.com/bhw2pj . If I turn off the DropShadowFilter effect for the Canvas, they are also gone, so I assume it's a DropShadowFilter problem: http://yfrog.com/2d9y8j . The effect is simple: private static var _nodeDropShadow:DropShadowFilter = new DropShadowFilter(1, 45, 0x888888, 1, 1, 1); _backgroundComp.filters = _nodeDropShadow; Is it possible that Flex can't handle that much? Thanks in advance
