  • Printing to Power point

    Hi, Similar to the print to pdf option, where we can choose PDF to be the output format in the print dialog box when printing something from a browser or other applications, I am searching for something which can print to a Power Point file. Is there any such plugin or tool? Also link to a relilable print to pdf tool would be helpful. This essentially would eliminate the export to power point option that the users are asking for in my Silverlight application. Thanks...

  • How to access Windows Azure management portal from Linux/Ubuntu

    Good day everyone! I have only Ubuntu/Debian machines in my office. I've registered for Windows Azure platform and try to enter their management portal (https://windows.azure.com/default.aspx), but it requires Microsoft Silverlight. I've tried installing latest Moonlight plugin availabing for Ubuntu 11.04, but without any success - after login I see blank page and nothing more (tried both firefox 7.0.1 and chromium-14). Does anyone know how to enter Microsoft Azure management portal from Ubuntu 11.04 or any other linux? Thank you, Zaar

    Let's compare WinRT with .Net .Net .Net is the 13+ years evolution of COM. Three main parts of .Net are execution environment, standard libraries and supported languages. CLR is the native-code execution environment based on COM .Net Framework has a big set of standard libraries (implemented using managed and native code) that can be used from all .Net languages. There are .Net classes that allow using OS APIs. WPF or Silverlight provide a XAML-based UI framework .Net can be used with C++, C#, Javascript, Python, Ruby, VB, LISP, Scheme and many other languages.     I am planning to buy a new laptop and would like to know if I should go for an i3, i5 or an i7 based laptop? I do most of my development in Visual Studio 2010 and also use Eclipse and Weblogic 10. Also planning to use WPF/Silverlight in the future. Will going for a i7 really benefit me or an i3 or an i5 will suffice for my needs?

    In the context of a game (HTML5/Flash/Silverlight) which sends data to an online service to record progress (e.g. player killed an orc), would communicating with the service over SSL implicitly prevent the player from recording and replaying the message? I know SSL includes a nonce, but does it remain constant for the duration of the connection or does it change after each request/response cycle?

    I'm attempting to dynamically load some (purchased) assemblies from resource streams in a C# program during an MSI installation routine, but I'm getting "Unverifiable code failed policy check". I read some tips online about compiling the embedded assembly with /clr:safe, but I don't have that option. Is there a way to work around this policy check? Thanks.

But when I set the WTD_UI_NONE attribute, although it doesn't show any dialog boxes, but it waits for a long time on the files that in fact wanted user interaction (I mean files which without mentioning the NO UI it will ask the user for that file).   • Wrapping Arbitrary XML within XML

    I need to embed arbitrary (syntactically valid) XML documents within a wrapper XML document. The embedded documents are to be regarded as mere text, they do not need to be parseable when parsing the wrapper document. I know about the "CDATA trick", but I can't use that if the inner XML document itself contains a CDATA segment, and I need to be able to embed any valid XML document. Any advice on accomplishing this--or working around the CDATA limitation--would be appreciated.

    I'm trying to use Java drag and drop to drag an object from a JTree into a native .NET component that is embedded in my app. This .NET component only accepts File objects, so I'm having trouble with the DnD's Transferable object.   • ImageMagick PDF to JPEG conversion results in green square where image should be

    I'm attempting to convert a PDF to a JPEG using ImageMagick. The PDF: baby_aRCWTU.pdf The command: convert -density 260 -profile 'SWOP.icc' -profile 'sRGB.icm' 'baby_aRCWTU.pdf' 'baby_aRCWTU.jpg' The resulting JPEG: baby_aRCWTU.jpg As you can see, the text is rendered nicely, but the embedded image shows up as a green square. Any ideas? This occurs with and without the colour profiles. edit: reposted due to broken links

    I'm trying to display frequencies within barplot ... well, I want them somewhere in the graph: under the bars, within bars, above bars or in the legend area. And I recall (I may be wrong) that it can be done in ggplot2. This is probably an easy one... at least it seems easy. People say it needs to be "Managed Code". I'm not completely sure what that means nor do I know if AutoIt has that characteristic.

    I have two quicktime movie files embedded in one web page. I have set autoplay="false" to prevent them both from playing at the same time, but they still load at the same time.   • Embedding binary video data in a swf file

    Is it possible to play video from data that has been embedded in a swf at compile time (with the [Embed] metatag)? The "Import Video-Embed" feature provided by Flash CS3 etc. is not acceptable because it has many severe limitations (including sound synchronization issues, a maximum number of frames, and other caveats) I'm interested in being able to bundle flv video data in a swf (along with other assets), which will be played by an AIR application. I don't think it can be done. Anyone disagree?

  • Are there any lightweight alternatives to gSOAP?

    I've tried using gSOAP for accessing a web service (e.g. using supplied WSDL to generate C stubs and then using them in an app). However, I've found that the generated .c and object files is quite big (several megabytes), which is a problem in embedded environment where I work. Do you know of any simpler SOAP libraries, or do I have to fall back to generic XML generators and parsers like ezXML?
