• SharePoint SPListItem.ContentType.Name - "Message" vs "Discussion" ?

  I am writing a C# code to find all of our SharePoint Sites that have emails contained in the Email List page. It appears that some of our email messages are SPListItem.ContentType.Name = "Message" and some of our email messages are SPListItem.ContentType.Name = "Discussion" Aside from the confusion, this is forcing my to cycle through mylist.Folders and mylist.Items in two separate loops, so that I don't miss any of the emails. Is this normal? Any idea why this could be happening? There are threads that contains messages of both types.

• django ignoring admin.py

  I am trying to enable the admin for my app. I managed to get the admin running, but I can't seem to make my models appear on the admin page. I tried following the tutorial (here) which says: (Quote) Just one thing to do: We need to tell the admin that Poll objects have an admin interface. To do this, create a file called admin.py in your polls directory, and edit it to look like this: from polls.models import Poll from django.contrib import admin admin.site.register(Poll) (end quote) I added an admin.py file as instructed, and also added the following lines into urls.py: from django.contrib import admin admin.autodiscover() urlpatterns = patterns('', ... (r'^admin/', include(admin.site.urls)), ) but it appears to have no effect. I even added a print 1 at the first line of admin.py and I see that the printout never happens, So I guess django doesn't know about my admin.py. As said, I can enter the admin site, I just don't see anything other than "groups", "users" and "sites". What step am I missing?

Using this setup, I can get the demo application that came in the JacORB download to run successfully. The only difference I can tell is that my test is using the Tie method to get the POA. There are some policies that go into that, but I can't find any information on what policies need to go in there to enable SSL, if any. I'm not even sure that's the problem as the JacORB demo doesn't set any policies on the server or poa. When I run the -Djavax.net.debug=ssl, I can see the keystores load up the trusted certs on both the client and the server. I'm just not sure what policies are being referred to here, but it's odd that the demo works and the test doesn't using the exact same keystores and properties. I've emailed the mailing list, but I'm not holding out much hope as that doesn't seem to be very active. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Below are my properties files. • What components of your site do you typically "offload" or embed?

  Here's what I mean. In developing my ASP.NET MVC based site, I've managed to offload a great deal of the static file hosting and even some of the "work". Like so: jQuery for my javascript framework. Instead of hosting it on my site, I use the Google CDN Google maps, obviously "offloaded" - no real work being performed on my server - Google hosted jQueryUI framework - Google CDN jQueryUI CSS framework - Google CDN jQueryUI CSS framework themes - Google CDN So what I'm asking is this, other than what I've got listed... What aspects of your sites have you been able to offload, or embed, from outside services? Couple others that come to mind... OpenAuth - take much of the authentication process work off your site Google Wave - when it comes out, take communication work off of your site

• Recordset Paging works in IIS6 but not in IIIS7

• Any hosted versions of jQuery that have the 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *' header set?

  I have been working with jQuery recently and ran into a problem where I couldn't include it in a userscript because xmlhttpRequest uses the same origin policy. After further testing I found that most browsers also support the Cross-Origin Resource Sharing access control defined by W3C as a workaround for issues with same origin policy. I tested this by hosting the jQuery script on a local web server that included the Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * http header, which allowed the script to be downloaded using xmlhttpRequest so that it could be included in my userscript. I'd like to use a hosted version of jQuery when releasing the script, but so far testing with tools like http://www.seoconsultants.com/tools/headers I have not found any sites that allow cross-origin access to the jQuery script. • Web Site in solution where "Rebuild Solution" compile succeeds cannot launch debugger

  I have a solution that includes a Web Site (created using the web site template not the web app project template - converting isn't an option, btw). When I rebuild all, the compile succeeds, but strangely displays 3 errors, all of which are "Could not get dependencies for project reference 'PROJNAME'". When I try to launch the debugger, I get the "There were build errors." dialogue. Two questions: If I choose the 'Yes' option in the debug error dialogue to run the last successful build, will it run on the code that my Rebuild All just compiled? How do I resolve this issue? I checked this post and am disheartened by my prospects. What is strange, though, is that I added these same projects to a separate web site solution that compiled/debugged fine, removed the test web site and re-added the target website I would like to debug, and it failed in the same manner. • How to get rid of Drupal CSS stylesheets?

  I am trying to accomplish the following. I need to use Drupal 6 as a project requirement, but I want to use it with my own HTML and CSS stylesheets for each node/view/panel etc. The problem is, whatever the theme, I always found that Drupal applies to my HTML content both my CSS stylesheets and the CSS related to the theme chosen. I have also tried, without success, using the stylestripper module (installed in sites/all/modules). No matter what I do, additional CSS stylesheets are applied to my pages, completely destroying my layout. What is the proper way to achieve this? Why stylestripper does not work at all? Is there a completely blank theme available? I have tried basic, mothership, zen etc, but I always see additional CSS stylesheets applied to my pages. This is driving me crazy, Drupal was chosen by someone else for its flexibility. Thank you in advance.

• How do I change apache2 DocumentRoot (default snow leopard install) and not get "You don't have perm

  I'm trying to point DocumentRoot at a directory in my user folder. While I can happily point DocumentRoot at /Library/WebServer/Documents and ~/Sites I keep getting "You don't have permission to access / on this server." when I point it anywhere else. OK, I just found a solution mid-question (stack overflow is just that good) by changing the user/group apache runs under to myuser/admin. I'm sure there must be a better way though. Surely some kind of permissions magic on the directory I'm pointing at?

• Having Problems Getting FreeTTS and JSAPI Working

  I have a simple project idea based off of FreeTTS and the JSAPI (Java Speech API) I've downloaded and unpacked FreeTTS and run their build script. Then tried compiling my code linking in the lib directory into the class path like this: javac -cp /home/travis/Desktop/freetts-1.2/lib HelloUnleashedReader.java Which then compiles to java bytecode just fine. However when I run: java HelloUnleashedReader I get the following error: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/speech/EngineModeDesc Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated as there are many sites around the net discussing problems with getting it to work but not many that discuss their solution.

• Stop IIS 7 Application Pool from build script

  How can I stop and then restart an IIS 7 application pool from an MSBuild script running inside TeamCity. I want to deploy our nightly builds to an IIS server for out testers to view. I have tried using appcmd like so: appcmd stop apppool /apppool.name:MYAPP-POOL ... but I have run into elevation issues in Windows 2008 that so far have stopped me from being able to run that command from my TeamCity build process because Windows 2008 requires elevation in order to run appcmd. If I do not stop the application pool before I copy my files to the web server my MSBuild script is unable to copy the files to the server. Has anybody else seen and solved this issue when deploying web sites to IIS from TeamCity?

• Is there a format or service for resume/CV data?

  I have noticed through the process of signing up for various freelance and job seeking or professional network sites that they all want your resume/CV data. And I am really getting tired of copy/pasting this data, especially since I have a website. Is there a standard format or service somewhere that I do not know about for this data? If not, does anyone want to help me build something like this out? I'm thinking a service similar to OpenID that allows you to maintain a central resume to have your data pulled from. No more filling in the same data over and over, and having to maintain the copies on any of the plethora of websites that have that data. Takers?

• Best reverse proxy for IIS 6?

  I want to set up a reverse proxy from one of our intranet IIS sites to point to another tomcat server. Eg, i want the user to browse to 'http://our-iis-server/friendly-url' and for it to reverse proxy to 'http://our-tomcat-server/ugly-url'. What would be the best solution for this? I've narrowed it down to three options: http://www.managedfusion.com/products/url-rewriter/documentation.aspx http://www.isapirewrite.com/ http://www.codeplex.com/IIRF Also, can these tools rewrite the links in the html? Eg, if the tomcat server's html has something like 'a href = http://our-tomcat-server/ugly-url/product/widget' i would need it to change to 'a href = http://our-iis-server/friendly-url/product/widget' Thanks in advance. • py2app prescripts

  The py2app documentation mentions prescripts, being run by __boot__.py prior to the main python script. I couldn't find a way to easily specify any prescript on the setup.py file or build process. I did however manage to 'hack' __boot__.py manually and add another _run(prescript) command before my main _run(main_script) and it seemed to work fine. It would however be much better using the standard py2app build process. What I'm essentially trying to do is monkey-patch my sites-packages.zip file prior to the main script being launched. The prescript essentially checks for updates on the server, and if there are any, downloads them, and then overwrites the site-packages.zip file. Much quicker than having to re-install the application from scratch. Any ideas?

On forums in which people ask how to use PostMessage, people reply with one of two implementations: PostMessage(WindowHandle, WM_KEYDOWN, KeyCode, MapVirtualKey(KeyCode, 0) << 16); PostMessage(WindowHandle, WM_KEYDOWN, KeyCode, 0); What's the difference? Why can the last parameter be left as 0 in some instances, but has to be 'shifted' and all that in other instances? Just a quick question. • Apps not showing in Django admin site

  I have a Django project with about 10 apps in it. But the admin interface only shows Auth and Site models which are part of Django distribution. Yes, the admin interface is up and working but none of my self-written apps shows there. • Are Cross Domain Flash Shared Objects (LSO aka Flash Cookie) possible

  Hi, I found several solutions for creating Flash LSOs from JavaScript (for example: http://www.nuff-respec.com/technology/cross-browser-cookies-with-flash ) If Page (www.hostA.com/index.html) and the .swf file are from the same site, everything works fine. No I'm trying to load the page form www.hostA.com/index.html, which includes www.hostB.com/flashcookie.swf (different sites). But then I cannot read or store the LSO. I have tried several configurations (crossdomain.xml, Security.allowDomain("...") ), but nothing works. Is this kind of cross domain access to a LSO possible? Thanks -stephan

  Hi I have two tables. There are users informations from two sites: p_users p_users2 There are 3726 users in first and 13717 in second. Some users in p_users2 are in p_users. I want merge this two tables to the one big table - but rows with same usernames can't be doubled. How can I do this? I tried something like this: DELETE FROM p_users2 WHERE user_id IN ( select p.user_id from p_users p join p_users2 p2 on p.username=p2.username ) After that I should receive a table with unique usernames, which I want to export and import to the first one. But when I execute my query I got error: SQL Error (1093): You can't specify target table 'p_users2' for update in FROM clause. (MYSQL)

• Global "ajax call" notification with asp.net mvc/jquery

  I need to be notified any time a largeish asp.net mvc web application makes an ajax call to the server. We're using both jquery, and the built-in Ajax.* methods to do the remote calls, and I would like a global way of knowing when we make a call without having to manually inject some sort of "IsMakingCall" method to every request. The root problem we're trying to solve is session timeout. If the user leaves a page up and goes to lunch (for example), they get errors when they get back because the ajax call is returning the login page instead of the expected json or partial html result. My idea was to have a js timer which would be reset any time we make an ajax call. That way, if the timer runs out (ie. their session has now timed out) I can just auto-log them out. This is how sites like bank of america and mint.com work. Thanks!

  How to streamline/automate the configuration of Eclipse? Given N developers running a mixture of Ubuntu and Mac OS X, all with the same version of Eclipse, how to make sure that: Each developer, on top of his favourite "Available Software Sites" selection, has a common set of installation sources? Each developer has an easy (automated?) way of installing a base set of plug-ins? Each developer can just as easily install a custom plugin developed in-house and distributed over the local network? No automatically deployed plugins conflict with any others a developer might already be using? I would post this to serverfault.com if it wasn't that I am more interested in a "scripting" answer than a traditional "system management" solution... ;-)

• Testing input fields not available for web service in Visual Web Developer Express

  I have a web service that I am trying to test in Visual Web Developer Express Edition (Service Pack 1). I am working with two different websites on two different branches from an SVN repository but largely the same code. The web services are the same code but there are some code differences for other features. My problem is that when going to the web service specification page in debug mode (i.e. MyWebService.asmx) there should be text fields for inputting parameters for that web service. On one of these web sites the fields are available. On another they are not available. I don't understand why/how there should be any differences between the two setups.
