  • Must I loop to search results for a specific value?

    I have a table in the database: name Opinion Tim Tim has an opinion John other random text Dan Dan's random text Al Al says something else I call this data and get it back in getRecords.lastResult To access John's opinion, I could use: getRecords.lastResult[1].opinion But that's only because I know that John is the second record (record 1), but this may change. So the right way is to search through the results to first find the record index for John, then access his opinion. My guess is I need some sort of a loop? Is there an easier way to search for John directly without a loop?

    So for instance you have a type like: public class EffectOptions { public EffectOptions ( params object [ ] options ) {} public EffectOptions ( IEnumerable<object> options ) {} public EffectOptions ( string name ) {} public EffectOptions ( object owner ) {} public EffectOptions ( int count ) {} public EffectOptions ( Point point ) {} } Here I just give the example using constructors but the result will be the same if they were non-constructor methods on the type itself, right? So when you do: EffectOptions options = new EffectOptions (null); which constructor would be called, and why? I could test this myself but I want to understand how the overload resolution system works (not sure if that's what it's called).

    I'm trying to change the selected radio button in a Wicket RadioGroup during an AjaxEventBehavior but can't figure out how to do so. Specifically when a user types some text in a textbox I want to change the selected radio button to one I specify. How do you do this?     for example: void decrement(int counter) { counter--; } int counter = 20; for (int i = 0; i < counter; i++) { for (int j = 0; j < counter, j++) { decrement(counter); } } ideally, what i'd like to see is the counter var being decremented every time the for loop is run, so that it runs fewer than 20 iterations. but gdb shows that within decrement() counter is decremented, but that going back to the for loop counter actually stays the same.

  • Is there a SortedList<T> class in .net ? (not SortedList<Key,Value> which is actually a kind of Sort

    I need to sort some objects according to their contents (in fact according to one of their properties, which is NOT the key and may be duplicated between different objects) .net provides two classes (SortedDictionnary and SortedList), and both are some kind of Dictionaries. The only difference (AFAIK) is that SortedDictionnary uses a binary tree to maintain its state whereas SortedList does not and is accessible via an index. I could achieve what I want using a List, and then using its Sort() method with a custom implementation of IComparer, but it wouldn't be time-efficient as I would sort the whole List each time I insert a new object, whereas a good SortedList would just insert the item at the right position. What I need is a SortedList class with a RefreshPosition(int index) to move only the changed (or inserted) object rather than resorting the whole list each time an object inside changes. Am I missing something obvious ?

  • How can I get to the value of my WPF UserControl DependencyProperty from UI Automation Framework?

    Hi, I'm having trouble getting access to my WPF UserControl DependencyProperty values through the UI Automation Framework. I've used James McCaffreys article in MSDN as a starting point (Automating IO Tests in WPF Applications, MSDN March 2009), but I can only see properties etc in standard controls such as buttons. I'm assuming there's some Automation interface I have to implement on my UserControl, but what and how? I can already see my control fine e.g. in UISpy, but I can't see the dependency properties within it.     If I just want a sorted list of just dates, integers, or doubles is it really necessary to have to define a SortedList(of Integer, Integer)? Seems intriguing to me, but may just be trival.   • For SQL select returning more than 1 value, how are they sorted when Id is GUID?

    I'm wondering how MSSQL orders data that is returned from a query and the Id columns of the respective tables are all of type uniqueidentifier. I'm using NHibernate GuidComb when creating all of the GUIDs and do things like: Sheet sheet = sheetRepository.Get(_SheetGuid_); // has many lines items IList<SheetLineItem> lineItems = sheet.LineItems; I'm just trying to figure out how they'll be ordered when I do something like: foreach (SheetLineItem lineItem in lineItems) I can't see to find a good article on the way GUIDs are compared by SQL when being ordered, if that's what's happening.

  • Change color of a table cell using javascript using dropdown menu

    I'd like to use some javascript code to change the background color of a single cell within a table. I have some code below which allows me to change the page background color. This is similar in concept to what I would like to do, but I would really like to be able to change just one cell...not the whole page. I have thought about making the rest of the cell borders and background colors white, leaving the cell I want to manipulate transparent, but I think this probably a brute force method that will cause me trouble down the road. Does anyone have any advice to do this with javascript? Now i do have another array. which have list of events data ... eventListArray is of DistanceClass call eventListArray. for 5 km its displays 10 events, for 10 km its display 20 events. Now i need to load data for each section from distanceListArray of eventListArray Into another new array. All Arrays's are NSMutableArray.
