  • Is there any logical relation between different types of UML diagrams?

    - by user363295
I'm trying to find out ,that is there any relation between different types of UML diagrams, for example, once you developed a use case, should it be an event for each of them in a sequence diagram, or is there any exact relation between the use case and class diagrams. By the way my main focus is on the below diagrams: Use case class diagram activity sequence event if you think I need any extra diagram to be included so it can be used to connecting the above diagrams to each other, please mention it too. Thanks In Advance

    - by gökhan
good night my project is about that Write a program that uses a loop to calculate the first 15 values of the Fibonacci number sequence and store them in an array, call it FibArr, of size 15 DWORDS. Fibonacci number sequence is described by the following formula: Fib(1) = 1, Fib(2) = 1, Fib(n) = Fib(n -1) + Fib(n - 2). Place each value in the EAX register and display it with a call DumpRegs statement. So I dont have an idea about this topic please help me thanks

  • New monitor connected to HDMI adaptor doesn't show output after booting

    - by Paul
Hello out there in the multiple monitors’ world. I am a very old newbie in your world and need help. I just purchased a new Asus VH236H monitor and hooked it up the HDMI port of an ATI Radeon HD4300 / 4500 Series display adaptor. I left the old Princeton LCD19 (TMDS) hooked up to the DVI port of the same display adaptor. Both monitors displayed the boot sequence, after I fired good old Sarastro2 (Asus P5Q Pro Turbo – Dual Core E5300 – 2.60 GHz) up. The Asus lacked one half of a second behind the Princeton until the Windows 7 Ultimate SP 1 boot up was complete. Then the Asus displayed “HDMI NO SIGNAL” and went into hibernation. The Princeton stayed lit up as before. Both monitors are displayed on the “Screen Resolution Setup Display” and I plaid around with them for a while. The only thing I accomplished was to shove the desktop icons from the Princeton to the still hibernating Asus. The “Multiple displays:” is set to “Extend these displays”, the Orientation is “Landscape” and the Resolutions are set on both to the “recommended” one. Both monitors show that they work properly in the advanced Properties display. What am I doing wrong, what am I missing? Never mind the opinions about the different resolutions of the two monitors. I always can unhook the Princeton and give it to a Goodwill Store if I do not like the setup. I just would like to make it work. Any constructive help is very much appreciated, Thank you. Thank you Anees Bakrain Only the ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 Series adapter is displayed in the Device Manager, for that reason I have to assume that the onboard display adaptor is not active. All 40 drivers of Sarastro2 are up to date and the HDMI cable can not be the problem because both monitors displayed the boot sequence up to the moment when Windows 7 was loaded completely. This was the moment, when the Asus monitor lost its signal. Both connectors, HDMI and DVI are connected and removing the DVI connector would not solve my problem of running both monitors simultaneously. However, your suggestions shifted my seventy one year old brain into the next gear. The only question remaining is; “Why the signals to the Asus monitor stop after the sequence is complete”. The ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 Series adapter seems to be capable of sending simultaneous HDMI and DVI signals, what is done during the boot sequence. Why do the signals change after the boot sequence is complete is the key question or der springende Punkt? Is this a correct assumption slhck?

  • How to code a time delay between plotting points in JFreeCharts?

    - by Javajava
    Is there a way to animate the plotting process of an xy-line chart using JFreeCharts? I want to be able to watch the program draw each line segment and connect them. For example, if I paste this into the TextArea, "gtgtaaacaatatatggcg," I want to watch it graph each line segment one by one. Thanks in advance! :) My code is below: import java.util.Scanner; import java.applet.Applet; import java.awt.; import java.awt.event.ActionListener; import java.awt.event.ActionEvent; import org.jfree.chart.; import org.jfree.chart.plot.PlotOrientation; import org.jfree.data.xy.*; public class RandomWalkComplete extends Applet implements ActionListener { Panel panel; TextArea textarea, outputArea; Button move,exit; String thetext; Scanner reader = new Scanner(System.in); String thetext2; Label instructions; int x,y; public void init() { setSize(500,250); //set size of applet instructions=new Label("Paste the gene sequences in the " + "text field and press the graph button."); add(instructions); panel = new Panel(); add(panel); setVisible(true); textarea= new TextArea(10,20); add(textarea); move=new Button("Graph"); move.addActionListener(this); add(move); exit=new Button("Exit"); exit.addActionListener(this); add(exit); } public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { XYSeries series = new XYSeries("DNA Walk",false,true); x= 0; y = 0; series.add(x,y); if(e.getSource() == move) { thetext=textarea.getText(); //the text is the DNA bases pasted thetext=thetext.replaceAll(" ",""); //removes spaces thetext2 = ""; for(int i=0; i<thetext.length(); i++) { char a = thetext.charAt(i); switch (a) { case 'A': case 'a'://moves right x+=1; y+=0; series.add(x,y); break; case 'C': case 'c': //moves up x+=0; y+=1; series.add(x,y); break; case 'G': case 'g': //move left x-=1; y+=0; series.add(x,y); break; case 'T': case 't'://move down x+=0; y-=1; series.add(x,y); break; default: // series.add(0,0); break; } } XYDataset xyDataset = new XYSeriesCollection(series); JFreeChart chart = ChartFactory.createXYLineChart ("DNA Random Walk", "", "", xyDataset, PlotOrientation.VERTICAL, true, true, false); ChartFrame frame1=new ChartFrame("DNA Random Walk",chart); frame1.setVisible(true); frame1.setSize(300,300); } if(e.getSource()==exit) {System.exit(0);} } public void stop(){} }

  • FreeBSD slow transfers - RFC 1323 scaling issue?

    - by Trey
I think I may be having an issue with window scaling (RFC 1323) and am hoping that someone can enlighten me on what's going on. Server: FreeBSD 9, apache22, serving a static 100MB zip file. 192.168.18.30 Client: Mac OS X 10.6, Firefox 192.168.17.47 Network: Only a switch between them - the subnet is 192.168.16/22 (In this test, I also have dummynet filtering simulating an 80ms ping time on all IP traffic. I've seen nearly identical traces with a "real" setup, with real internet traffic/latency also) Questions: Does this look normal? Is packet #2 specifying a window size of 65535 and a scale of 512? Is packet #5 then shrinking the window size so it can use the 512 scale and still keep the overall calculated window size near 64K? Why is the window scale so high? Here are the first 6 packets from wireshark. For packets 5 and 6 I've included the details showing the window size and scaling factor being used for the data transfer. • The MySQL service is in the status "starting" on windows

I have several months working to "MySQL-5-1-47" on windows 2003. When I restarted, the service "MySQL" stay in this state "starting". • Can't connect to SSL web service with WS-Security using PHP SOAP extension - certificate, complex WSDL

    - by BillF
Using the PHP5 SOAP extension I have been unable to connect to a web service having an https endpoint, with client certificate and using WS-Security, although I can connect using soapUI with the exact same wsdl and client certificate, and obtain the normal response to the request. There is no HTTP authentication and no proxy is involved. The message I get is 'Could not connect to host'. Have been able to verify that I am NOT hitting the host server. (Earlier I wrongly said that I was hitting the server.) The self-signed client SSL certificate is a .pem file converted by openssl from a .p12 keystore which in turn was converted by keytool from a .jks keystore having a single entry consisting of private key and client certificate. In soapUI I did not need to supply a server private certificate, the only two files I gave it were the wdsl and pem. I did have to supply the pem and its passphrase to be able to connect. I am speculating that despite the error message my problem might actually be in the formation of the XML request rather than the SSL connection itself. The wsdl I have been given has nested complex types. The php server is on my Windows XP laptop with IIS. The code, data values and WSDL extracts are shown below. (The WSSoapClient class simply extends SoapClient, adding a WS-Security Username Token header with mustUnderstand = true and including a nonce, both of which the soapUI call had required.) Would so much appreciate any help. I'm a newbie thrown in at the deep end, and how! Have done vast amounts of Googling on this over many days, following many suggestions and have read Pro PHP by Kevin McArthur. An attempt to use classmaps in place of nested arrays also fell flat. The Code class STEeService { public function invokeWebService(array $connection, $operation, array $request) { try { $localCertificateFilespec = $connection['localCertificateFilespec']; $localCertificatePassphrase = $connection['localCertificatePassphrase']; $sslOptions = array( 'ssl' => array( 'local_cert' => $localCertificateFilespec, 'passphrase' => $localCertificatePassphrase, 'allow_self-signed' => true, 'verify_peer' => false ) ); $sslContext = stream_context_create($sslOptions); $clientArguments = array( 'stream_context' => $sslContext, 'local_cert' => $localCertificateFilespec, 'passphrase' => $localCertificatePassphrase, 'trace' => true, 'exceptions' => true, 'encoding' => 'UTF-8', 'soap_version' => SOAP_1_1 ); $oClient = new WSSoapClient($connection['wsdlFilespec'], $clientArguments); $oClient->__setUsernameToken($connection['username'], $connection['password']); return $oClient->__soapCall($operation, $request); } catch (exception $e) { throw new Exception("Exception in eServices " . $operation . " ," . $e->getMessage(), "\n"); } } } $connection is as follows: array(5) { ["username"]=> string(8) "DFU00050" ["password"]=> string(10) "Fabricate1" ["wsdlFilespec"]=> string (63) "c:/inetpub/wwwroot/DMZExternalService_Concrete_WSDL_Staging.xml" ["localCertificateFilespec"]=> string(37) "c:/inetpub/wwwroot/ClientKeystore.pem" ["localCertificatePassphrase"]=> string(14) "password123456" } $clientArguments is as follows: array(7) { ["stream_context"]=> resource(8) of type (stream-context) ["local_cert"]=> string(37) "c:/inetpub/wwwroot/ClientKeystore.pem" ["passphrase"]=> string(14) "password123456" ["trace"]=> bool(true) ["exceptions"]=> bool(true) ["encoding"]=> string(5) "UTF-8" ["soap_version"]=> int(1) } $operation is as follows: 'getConsignmentDetails' $request is as follows: array(1) { [0]=> array(2) { ["header"]=> array(2) { ["source"]=> string(9) "customerA" ["accountNo"]=> string(8) "10072906" } ["consignmentId"]=> string(11) "GKQ00000085" } } Note how there is an extra level of nesting, an array wrapping the request which is itself an array. This was suggested in a post although I don't see the reason, but it seems to help avoid other exceptions. The exception thrown by ___soapCall is as follows: object(SoapFault)#6 (9) { ["message":protected]=> string(25) "Could not connect to host" ["string":"Exception":private]=> string(0) "" • Oracle Data Integrator 11.1.1.5 Complex Files as Sources and Targets

    - by Alex Kotopoulis
Overview ODI 11.1.1.5 adds the new Complex File technology for use with file sources and targets. The goal is to read or write file structures that are too complex to be parsed using the existing ODI File technology. This includes: Different record types in one list that use different parsing rules Hierarchical lists, for example customers with nested orders Parsing instructions in the file data, such as delimiter types, field lengths, type identifiers Complex headers such as multiple header lines or parseable information in header Skipping of lines  Conditional or choice fields Similar to the ODI File and XML File technologies, the complex file parsing is done through a JDBC driver that exposes the flat file as relational table structures. Complex files are mapped to one or more table structures, as opposed to the (simple) file technology, which always has a one-to-one relationship between file and table. The resulting set of tables follows the same concept as the ODI XML driver, table rows have additional PK-FK relationships to express hierarchy as well as order values to maintain the file order in the resulting table.   The parsing instruction format used for complex files is the nXSD (native XSD) format that is already in use with Oracle BPEL. This format extends the XML Schema standard by adding additional parsing instructions to each element. Using nXSD parsing technology, the native file is converted into an internal XML format. It is important to understand that the XML is streamed to improve performance; there is no size limitation of the native file based on memory size, the XML data is never fully materialized.  The internal XML is then converted to relational schema using the same mapping rules as the ODI XML driver. How to Create an nXSD file Complex file models depend on the nXSD schema for the given file. This nXSD file has to be created using a text editor or the Native Format Builder Wizard that is part of Oracle BPEL. BPEL is included in the ODI Suite, but not in standalone ODI Enterprise Edition. The nXSD format extends the standard XSD format through nxsd attributes. NXSD is a valid XML Schema, since the XSD standard allows extra attributes with their own namespaces. The following is a sample NXSD schema: <?xml version="1.0"?> <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:nxsd="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/nxsd" elementFormDefault="qualified" xmlns:tns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/demoSchema/csv" targetNamespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/demoSchema/csv" attributeFormDefault="unqualified" nxsd:encoding="US-ASCII" nxsd:stream="chars" nxsd:version="NXSD"> <xsd:element name="Root">         <xsd:complexType><xsd:sequence>       <xsd:element name="Header">                 <xsd:complexType><xsd:sequence>                         <xsd:element name="Branch" type="xsd:string" nxsd:style="terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy=","/>                         <xsd:element name="ListDate" type="xsd:string" nxsd:style="terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy="${eol}"/>                         </xsd:sequence></xsd:complexType>                         </xsd:element>                 </xsd:sequence></xsd:complexType>         <xsd:element name="Customer" maxOccurs="unbounded">                 <xsd:complexType><xsd:sequence>                 <xsd:element name="Name" type="xsd:string" nxsd:style="terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy=","/>                         <xsd:element name="Street" type="xsd:string" nxsd:style="terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy="," />                         <xsd:element name="City" type="xsd:string" nxsd:style="terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy="${eol}" />                         </xsd:sequence></xsd:complexType>                         </xsd:element>                 </xsd:sequence></xsd:complexType> </xsd:element> </xsd:schema> The nXSD schema annotates elements to describe their position and delimiters within the flat text file. The schema above uses almost exclusively the nxsd:terminatedBy instruction to look for the next terminator chars. There are various constructs in nXSD to parse fixed length fields, look ahead in the document for string occurences, perform conditional logic, use variables to remember state, and many more. nXSD files can either be written manually using an XML Schema Editor or created using the Native Format Builder Wizard. Both Native Format Builder Wizard as well as the nXSD language are described in the Application Server Adapter Users Guide. The way to start the Native Format Builder in BPEL is to create a new File Adapter; in step 8 of the Adapter Configuration Wizard a new Schema for Native Format can be created:   The Native Format Builder guides through a number of steps to generate the nXSD based on a sample native file. If the format is complex, it is often a good idea to “approximate” it with a similar simple format and then add the complex components manually.  The resulting *.xsd file can be copied and used as the format for ODI, other BPEL constructs such as the file adapter definition are not relevant for ODI. Using this technique it is also possible to parse the same file format in SOA Suite and ODI, for example using SOA for small real-time messages, and ODI for large batches. This nXSD schema in this example describes a file with a header row containing data and 3 string fields per row delimited by commas, for example: Redwood City Downtown Branch, 06/01/2011 Ebeneezer Scrooge, Sandy Lane, Atherton Tiny Tim, Winton Terrace, Menlo Park The ODI Complex File JDBC driver exposes the file structure through a set of relational tables with PK-FK relationships. The tables for this example are: Table ROOT (1 row): ROOTPK Primary Key for root element SNPSFILENAME Name of the file SNPSFILEPATH Path of the file SNPSLOADDATE Date of load Table HEADER (1 row): ROOTFK Foreign Key to ROOT record ROWORDER Order of row in native document BRANCH Data BRANCHORDER Order of Branch within row LISTDATE Data LISTDATEORDER Order of ListDate within row Table ADDRESS (2 rows): ROOTFK Foreign Key to ROOT record ROWORDER Order of row in native document NAME Data NAMEORDER Oder of Name within row STREET Data STREETORDER Order of Street within row CITY Data CITYORDER Order of City within row Every table has PK and/or FK fields to reflect the document hierarchy through relationships. In this example this is trivial since the HEADER and all CUSTOMER records point back to the PK of ROOT. Deeper nested documents require this to identify parent elements. All tables also have a ROWORDER field to define the order of rows, as well as order fields for each column, in case the order of columns varies in the original document and needs to be maintained. If order is not relevant, these fields can be ignored. How to Create an Complex File Data Server in ODI After creating the nXSD file and a test data file, and storing it on the local file system accessible to ODI, you can go to the ODI Topology Navigator to create a Data Server and Physical Schema under the Complex File technology. This technology follows the conventions of other ODI technologies and is very similar to the XML technology. The parsing settings such as the source native file, the nXSD schema file, the root element, as well as the external database can be set in the JDBC URL: The use of an external database defined by dbprops is optional, but is strongly recommended for production use. Ideally, the staging database should be used for this. Also, when using a complex file exclusively for read purposes, it is recommended to use the ro=true property to ensure the file is not unnecessarily synchronized back from the database when the connection is closed. A data file is always required to be present  at the filename path during design-time. Without this file, operations like testing the connection, reading the model data, or reverse engineering the model will fail.  All properties of the Complex File JDBC Driver are documented in the Oracle Fusion Middleware Connectivity and Knowledge Modules Guide for Oracle Data Integrator in Appendix C: Oracle Data Integrator Driver for Complex Files Reference. David Allan has created a great viewlet Complex File Processing - 0 to 60 which shows the creation of a Complex File data server as well as a model based on this server. How to Create Models based on an Complex File Schema Once physical schema and logical schema have been created, the Complex File can be used to create a Model as if it were based on a database. When reverse-engineering the Model, data stores(tables) for each XSD element of complex type will be created. Use of complex files as sources is straightforward; when using them as targets it has to be made sure that all dependent tables have matching PK-FK pairs; the same applies to the XML driver as well. Debugging and Error Handling There are different ways to test an nXSD file. The Native Format Builder Wizard can be used even if the nXSD wasn’t created in it; it will show issues related to the schema and/or test data. In ODI, the nXSD  will be parsed and run against the existing test XML file when testing a connection in the Dataserver. If either the nXSD has an error or the data is non-compliant to the schema, an error will be displayed. Sample error message: Error while reading native data. [Line=1, Col=5] Not enough data available in the input, when trying to read data of length "19" for "element with name D1" from the specified position, using "style" as "fixedLength" and "length" as "". Ensure that there is enough data from the specified position in the input. Complex File FAQ Is the size of the native file limited by available memory? No, since the native data is streamed through the driver, only the available space in the staging database limits the size of the data. There are limits on individual field sizes, though; a single large object field needs to fit in memory. Should I always use the complex file driver instead of the file driver in ODI now? No, use the file technology for all simple file parsing tasks, for example any fixed-length or delimited files that just have one row format and can be mapped into a simple table. Because of its narrow assumptions the ODI file driver is easy to configure within ODI and can stream file data without writing it into a database. The complex file driver should be used whenever the use case cannot be handled through the file driver. Are we generating XML out of flat files before we write it into a database? We don’t materialize any XML as part of parsing a flat file, either in memory or on disk. The data produced by the XML parser is streamed in Java objects that just use XSD-derived nXSD schema as its type system. We use the nXSD schema because is the standard for describing complex flat file metadata in Oracle Fusion Middleware, and enables users to share schemas across products. Is the nXSD file interchangeable with SOA Suite? Yes, ODI can use the same nXSD files as SOA Suite, allowing mixed use cases with the same data format. Can I start the Native Format Builder from the ODI Studio? No, the Native Format Builder has to be started from a JDeveloper with BPEL instance. You can get BPEL as part of the SOA Suite bundle. Users without SOA Suite can manually develop nXSD files using XSD editors. When is the database data written back to the native file? Data is synchronized using the SYNCHRONIZE and CREATE FILE commands, and when the JDBC connection is closed. It is recommended to set the ro or read_only property to true when a file is exclusively used for reading so that no unnecessary write-backs occur. Is the nXSD metadata part of the ODI Master or Work Repository? No, the data server definition in the master repository only contains the JDBC URL with file paths; the nXSD files have to be accessible on the file systems where the JDBC driver is executed during production, either by copying or by using a network file system. Where can I find sample nXSD files? The Application Server Adapter Users Guide contains nXSD samples for various different use cases.

  • Using Subjects to Deploy Queries Dynamically

    - by Roman Schindlauer
In the previous blog posting, we showed how to construct and deploy query fragments to a StreamInsight server, and how to re-use them later. In today’s posting we’ll integrate this pattern into a method of dynamically composing a new query with an existing one. The construct that enables this scenario in StreamInsight V2.1 is a Subject. A Subject lets me create a junction element in an existing query that I can tap into while the query is running. To set this up as an end-to-end example, let’s first define a stream simulator as our data source: var generator = myApp.DefineObservable(     (TimeSpan t) => Observable.Interval(t).Select(_ => new SourcePayload())); This ‘generator’ produces a new instance of SourcePayload with a period of t (system time) as an IObservable. SourcePayload happens to have a property of type double as its payload data. Let’s also define a sink for our example—an IObserver of double values that writes to the console: var console = myApp.DefineObserver(     (string label) => Observer.Create<double>(e => Console.WriteLine("{0}: {1}", label, e)))     .Deploy("ConsoleSink"); The observer takes a string as parameter which is used as a label on the console, so that we can distinguish the output of different sink instances. Note that we also deploy this observer, so that we can retrieve it later from the server from a different process. Remember how we defined the aggregation as an IQStreamable function in the previous article? We will use that as well: var avg = myApp     .DefineStreamable((IQStreamable<SourcePayload> s, TimeSpan w) =>         from win in s.TumblingWindow(w)         select win.Avg(e => e.Value))     .Deploy("AverageQuery"); Then we define the Subject, which acts as an observable sequence as well as an observer. Thus, we can feed a single source into the Subject and have multiple consumers—that can come and go at runtime—on the other side: var subject = myApp.CreateSubject("Subject", () => new Subject<SourcePayload>()); Subject are always deployed automatically. Their name is used to retrieve them from a (potentially) different process (see below). Note that the Subject as we defined it here doesn’t know anything about temporal streams. It is merely a sequence of SourcePayloads, without any notion of StreamInsight point events or CTIs. So in order to compose a temporal query on top of the Subject, we need to 'promote' the sequence of SourcePayloads into an IQStreamable of point events, including CTIs: var stream = subject.ToPointStreamable(     e => PointEvent.CreateInsert<SourcePayload>(e.Timestamp, e),     AdvanceTimeSettings.StrictlyIncreasingStartTime); In a later posting we will show how to use Subjects that have more awareness of time and can be used as a junction between QStreamables instead of IQbservables. Having turned the Subject into a temporal stream, we can now define the aggregate on this stream. We will use the IQStreamable entity avg that we defined above: var longAverages = avg(stream, TimeSpan.FromSeconds(5)); In order to run the query, we need to bind it to a sink, and bind the subject to the source: var standardQuery = longAverages     .Bind(console("5sec average"))     .With(generator(TimeSpan.FromMilliseconds(300)).Bind(subject)); Lastly, we start the process: standardQuery.Run("StandardProcess"); Now we have a simple query running end-to-end, producing results. What follows next is the crucial part of tapping into the Subject and adding another query that runs in parallel, using the same query definition (the “AverageQuery”) but with a different window length. We are assuming that we connected to the same StreamInsight server from a different process or even client, and thus have to retrieve the previously deployed entities through their names: // simulate the addition of a 'fast' query from a separate server connection, // by retrieving the aggregation query fragment // (instead of simply using the 'avg' object) var averageQuery = myApp     .GetStreamable<IQStreamable<SourcePayload>, TimeSpan, double>("AverageQuery"); // retrieve the input sequence as a subject var inputSequence = myApp     .GetSubject<SourcePayload, SourcePayload>("Subject"); // retrieve the registered sink var sink = myApp.GetObserver<string, double>("ConsoleSink"); // turn the sequence into a temporal stream var stream2 = inputSequence.ToPointStreamable(     e => PointEvent.CreateInsert<SourcePayload>(e.Timestamp, e),     AdvanceTimeSettings.StrictlyIncreasingStartTime); // apply the query, now with a different window length var shortAverages = averageQuery(stream2, TimeSpan.FromSeconds(1)); // bind new sink to query and run it var fastQuery = shortAverages     .Bind(sink("1sec average"))     .Run("FastProcess"); The attached solution demonstrates the sample end-to-end. Got as far as "Expanding Windows files ...100% the error message "Computer encountered unexpected error... To install windows press OK to restart computer and reinstall windows" The computer then reboots, loads Windows 7 (new logo) a essage that says "setup is starting services" then the error message comes back. I can get into BIOS to change boot priority but the computer just ignores this and goes through the same sequence. At the point of "to boot from CD/DVD press any key" my keyboard is deactivated and i cannot make a choice and the sae sequence occurs. I cannot break the sequence - I have push every key, disconnected every external device including HDMI screen, but nothing stops the loop. Any ideas? Auswoolf

  • Create user in Oracle 11g with same priviledges as in Oracle 10g XE

    - by Álvaro G. Vicario
I'm a PHP developer (not a DBA) and I've been working with Oracle 10g XE for a while. I'm used to XE's simplified user management: Go to Administration/ Users/ Create user Assign user name and password Roles: leave the default ones (connect and resource) Privileges: click on "Enable all" to select the 11 possible ones Create This way I get a user that has full access to its data and no access to everything else. This is fine since I only need it to develop my app. When the app is to be deployed, the client's DBAs configure the environment. Now I have to create users in a full Oracle 11g server and I'm completely lost. I have a new concept (profiles) and there're like 20 roles and hundreds of privileges in various categories. What steps do I need to complete in Oracle Enterprise Manager in order to obtain a user with the same privileges I used to assign in XE? ==== UPDATE ==== I think I'd better provide a detailed explanation so I make myself clearer. • In SASL authentication, are the messages between a particular client and server the same every time

    - by karenc
I wrote a test client and server using the Cyrus SASL library, and I'm manually forcing it to select GSSAPI as the mechanism. While debugging, I printed the md5sum of each message as it was passed between the two. I noticed that the sequence seems to be the same every time I connect. That is, if the message sequence on the first negotiation was clientMessage1, serverResponse1, clientMessage2, etc... to successful authentication, if I then restart my client, the same clientMessage1, serverResponse2, clientMessage2,etc... sequence is repeated. It seems to me like it would be a security concern. Is this the correct behavior and if so, should I be wrapping these communications in TLS or something?

  • Process ANSI escape codes before piping

    - by Tiddo
I'm trying to pipe the output of a script (Mocha) to another script. However there is one problem: Mocha generates quite a few ansi escape characters to update the screen on the fly. These characters are also send through the pipe. Is there a way to process the ansi sequence such that the output is the same as the final output to the screen? I do want to keep color escape sequences, but not the curser movement escapes. Edit: I have a partial solution now (for Mocha only): so far it seems that Mocha with the spec output (the one I use) only generates color ecape characters and the CSI 0G escape sequence. The CSI 0G escape character means that the cursor should move back to the beginning of the line. Mocha uses this to overwrite a line completely. Therefore you could simply create a sed regexp which will delete everything up to that escape sequence on a line: sed 's/^.*\x1b\[0G//g'. I am still looking for the complete solution though.

  • SCCM deploy from VMware XP image

    - by HannesFostie
We recently set up the latest version of SCCM and I managed to capture a .wim image from a virtual machine (build and capture task sequence). I want to use this .wim file to deploy winXP to different hardware, and therefor need to add device drivers to the task sequence. I created a driver package per laptop type, and deployed for the first time. However, I am getting a BSOD (0x00007B) which leads me to believe theres a problem with the storage drivers. After adjusting the task sequence to try and point to the mass storage drivers (which are applied at F6, I suppose) I do not get a list of compatible drivers (the list is empty). I looked around, and found some issues regarding hdc class drivers that are not recognized as mass storage drivers. The workaround suggested changing the INF file to make the driver a SCSIAdapter class driver, and importing these again, but to no avail. The list remains empty. Any help is much appreciated

  • Finding Missing UDP Frames Using Wireshark + Custom Dissector (for CQS)

    - by John Dibling
How do you use Wireshark to identify missing UDP frames? I have written a custom dissector for the CQS feed (reference page). One of our servers gaps when receiving this feed. According to Wireshark, some UDP frames are never received. I know that the frames were sent because all of our other servers are gap-free. A CQS frame consists of multiple messages, each having its own sequence number. My custom dissector provides the following data to Wireshark: cqs.frame_gaps - the number of gaps within a UDP frame (always zero) cqs.frame_first_seq - the first sequence number in a UDP frame cqs.frame_expected_seq - the first sequence number expected in the next UDP frame cqs.frame_msg_count - the number of messages in this UDP frame And I am displaying each of these values in custom columns, as shown in this screenshot: A typical CQS log will consist of millions of rows, so I can't just eyeball it. Is there any way I can get Wireshark to tell me which frames are missing?

I'm configuring vim in Mac OS X's Terminal app to do useful things with my arrow keys (among others). For example, I want option-left to move the cursor back one word, similarly to how it works in other Mac applications. In normal mode, this is easy enough; I can simply map the sequence to b. But when I'm in insert mode, I want to stay in insert mode (i.e., map the sequence to <c-o>b. In my .vimrc` file, I have these lines: nmap ^[[xol~ b imap ^[[xol~ <c-o>b Where ^[[xol~ is the character sequence that I've configured Terminal to send when I press option-left. This works, but it gets pretty tedious, especially when I've got nearly two dozen commands that I want to map. Is there a better way to do this?

  • XML Schema: Namespace issues when importing shared elements

    - by netzwerg
    When trying to import shared definitions from a XML Schema, I can properly reference shared types, but referencing shared elements causes validation errors. This is the schema that imports the shared definitions (example.xsd): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <xs:schema elementFormDefault="qualified" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:shared="http://shared.com"> <xs:import namespace="http://shared.com" schemaLocation="shared.xsd"/> <xs:element name="example"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element ref="importedElement"/> <xs:element ref="importedType"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> <xs:element name="importedElement"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element ref="shared:fooElement"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> <xs:element name="importedType"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="bar" type="shared:barType"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:schema> These are the shared definitions (shared.xsd): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns="http://shared.com" targetNamespace="http://shared.com"> <xs:element name="fooElement"> <xs:simpleType> <xs:restriction base="xs:integer"/> </xs:simpleType> </xs:element> <xs:simpleType name="barType"> <xs:restriction base="xs:integer"/> </xs:simpleType> </xs:schema> Now consider this XML instance: <?xml version="1.0"?> <example xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="example.xsd"> <importedElement> <fooElement>42</fooElement> </importedElement> <importedType> <bar>42</bar> </importedType> </example> When validated, the "importedType" works perfectly fine, but the "importedElement" gives the following error: Invalid content was found starting with element 'fooElement'. One of '{"http://shared.com":fooElement}' is expected I would guess that my troubles are related to namespace issues (hence the somehow misleading "got fooElement but was expecting fooElement") -- any hints on what's wrong here?

  • How to Zip one IEnumerable with itself

    - by wageoghe
I am implementing some math algorithms based on lists of points, like Distance, Area, Centroid, etc. Just like in this post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2227828/find-the-distance-required-to-navigate-a-list-of-points-using-linq That post describes how to calculate the total distance of a sequence of points (taken in order) by essentially zipping the sequence "with itself", generating the sequence for Zip by offsetting the start position of the original IEnumerable by 1. So, given the Zip extension in .Net 4.0, assuming Point for the point type, and a reasonable Distance formula, you can make calls like this to generate a sequence of distances from one point to the next and then to sum the distances: var distances = points.Zip(points.Skip(1),Distance); double totalDistance = distances.Sum(); Area and Centroid calculations are similar in that they need to iterate over the sequence, processing each pair of points (points[i] and points[i+1]). I thought of making a generic IEnumerable extension suitable for implementing these (and possibly other) algorithms that operate over sequences, taking two items at a time (points[0] and points[1], points[1] and points[2], ..., points[n-1] and points[n] (or is it n-2 and n-1 ...) and applying a function. My generic iterator would have a similar signature to Zip, but it would not receive a second sequence to zip with as it is really just going to zip with itself. My first try looks like this: public static IEnumerable<TResult> ZipMyself<TSequence, TResult>(this IEnumerable<TSequence> seq, Func<TSequence, TSequence, TResult> resultSelector) { return seq.Zip(seq.Skip(1),resultSelector); } With my generic iterator in place, I can write functions like this: public static double Length(this IEnumerable<Point> points) { return points.ZipMyself(Distance).Sum(); } and call it like this: double d = points.Length(); and double GreensTheorem(Point p1, Point p1) { return p1.X * p2.Y - p1.Y * p2.X; } public static double SignedArea(this IEnumerable<Point> points) { return points.ZipMyself(GreensTheorem).Sum() / 2.0 } public static double Area(this IEnumerable<Point> points) { return Math.Abs(points.SignedArea()); } public static bool IsClockwise(this IEnumerable<Point> points) { return SignedArea(points) < 0; } and call them like this: double a = points.Area(); bool isClockwise = points.IsClockwise(); In this case, is there any reason NOT to implement "ZipMyself" in terms of Zip and Skip(1)? Is there already something in LINQ that automates this (zipping a list with itself) - not that it needs to be made that much easier ;-) Also, is there better name for the extension that might reflect that it is a well-known pattern (if, indeed it is a well-known pattern)? Had a link here for a StackOverflow question about area calculation. It is question 2432428. Also had a link to Wikipedia article on Centroid. Just go to Wikipedia and search for Centroid if interested. Just starting out, so don't have enough rep to post more than one link,

  • XSD Schema for XML with multiple structures

    - by Xetius
    I am attempting to write an XML Schema to cover a number of XML conditions which I may encounter. I have the same root element (serviceRequest) with different child elements. I was trying to use the xs:extension element to define multiple versions, but it is complaining about unexpected element orderInclusionCriteria etc. Am I going about this the right way, or is there a better way to define this? The other way I thought about this was to have a single xs:choice with all the options inside it, but this seemed somewhat inelegant. These XSD files are for use within XMLBeans if that makes any difference. I have Given the following 2 examples of XML: 1) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <serviceRequest method="GOO" debug="NO"> <sessionId sID="ABC1234567" /> <orderInclusionCriteria accountId="1234567" accountNum="1234567890" /> </serviceRequest> 2) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <serviceRequest method="GOO" debug="NO"> <sessionId sID="ABC1234567" /> <action aType='MakePayment'> <makePayment accountID='CH91015165S' amount='5.00' /> </action> </serviceRequest> I thought I could use the following schema file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <xs:element name="serviceRequest" type="ServiceRequestType" /> <xs:element name="session" type="SessionType" /> <xs:attribute name="method" type="xs:string" /> <xs:attribute name="debug" type="xs:string" /> <xs:complexType name="SessionType"> <xs:attribute name="sID" use="required"> <xs:simpleType> <xs:restriction base="xs:string"/> </xs:simpleType> </xs:attribute> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="ServiceRequestType"> <xs:sequence> <xs:element ref="session" /> </xs:sequence> <xs:attribute ref="method" /> <xs:attribute ref="debug" /> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="OrderTrackingServiceRequest"> <xs:complexContent> <xs:extension base="ServiceRequestType"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="OrderInclusionCriteria" type="xs:string" /> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:extension> </xs:complexContent> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="Action"> <xs:complexContent> <xs:extension base="ServiceRequestType"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="makePayment"> <xs:complexType> <xs:attribute name="accountID" type="xs:string" /> <xs:attribute name="amount" type="xs:string" /> <xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:sequence> <xs:attribute name="aType" type="xs:string" /> </xs:complexType> </xs:extension> </xs:complexContent> </xs:complexType> </xs:schema>

  • simple XML question for perl - how to retrieve specific elements

    - by Jeff
I'm trying to figure out how to loop through XML but I've read a lot and I'm still getting stuck. Here's the info: I'm using the wordnik api to retrieve XML with XML::Simple: $content = get($url); $r = $xml->XMLin("$content"); The actual XML looks like this: <definitions> - <definition sequence="0" id="0"> - <text> To withdraw one's support or help from, especially in spite of duty, allegiance, or responsibility; desert: abandon a friend in trouble. </text> <headword>abandon</headword> <partOfSpeech>verb-transitive</partOfSpeech> </definition> - <definition sequence="1" id="0"> - <text> To give up by leaving or ceasing to operate or inhabit, especially as a result of danger or other impending threat: abandoned the ship. </text> <headword>abandon</headword> <partOfSpeech>verb-transitive</partOfSpeech> </definition> - <definition sequence="2" id="0"> - <text> To surrender one's claim to, right to, or interest in; give up entirely. See Synonyms at relinquish. </text> <headword>abandon</headword> <partOfSpeech>verb-transitive</partOfSpeech> </definition> - <definition sequence="3" id="0"> ... What I want is simply the FIRST definition's part of speech. I'm using this code but it's getting the LAST definition's POS: if($r->{definition}->{0}->{partOfSpeech}) { $pos = $r->{definition}->{0}->{partOfSpeech}; } else { $pos = $r->{definition}->{partOfSpeech}; } I am pretty embarrassed by this since I know there's an obviously better way to do it. I would love to get something as simple as this working so I could more generally loop through the elements. BUt it just isn't working for me (no idea what to reference). I've tried many variations of the following - this is just my last attempt: while (my ($k, $v) = each %{$r->{definitions}->{definition}[0]->{sequence}->{partOfSpeech}}) { $v =~ s/'/'"'"'/g; $v = "'$v'"; print "export $k=$v\n"; } Lastly, when I do "print Dumper($r)" it gives me this: $VAR1 = { 'definition' => { '0' => { 'partOfSpeech' => 'noun', 'sequence' => '6', 'text' => 'A complete surrender of inhibitions.', 'headword' => 'abandon' } } }; (And that "noun" you see is the last (6th) definition/partofspeech element).

  • XML and XSD - use element name as replacement of xsi:type for polymorphism

    - by disown
Taking the W3C vehicle XSD as an example: <schema xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" targetNamespace="http://cars.example.com/schema" xmlns:target="http://cars.example.com/schema"> <complexType name="Vehicle" abstract="true"/> <complexType name="Car"> <complexContent> <extension base="target:Vehicle"/> ... </complexContent> </complexType> <complexType name="Plane"> <complexContent> <extension base="target:Vehicle"/> <sequence> <element name="wingspan" type="integer"/> </sequence> </complexContent> </complexType> </schema> , and the following definition of 'meansOfTravel': <complexType name="MeansOfTravel"> <complexContent> <sequence> <element name="transport" type="target:Vehicle"/> </sequence> </complexContent> </complexType> <element name="meansOfTravel" type="target:MeansOfTravel"/> With this definition you need to specify the type of your instance using xsi:type, like this: <meansOfTravel> <transport xsi:type="Plane"> <wingspan>3</wingspan> </transport> </meansOfTravel> I would just like to acheive a 'name of type' - 'name of element' mapping so that this could be replaced with just <meansOfTravel> <plane> <wingspan>3</wingspan> </plane> </meansOfTravel> The only way I could do this until now is by making it explicit: <complexType name="MeansOfTravel"> <sequence> <choice> <element name="plane" type="target:Plane"/> <element name="car" type="target:Car"/> </choice> </sequence> </complexType> <element name="meansOfTravel" type="target:MeansOfTravel"/> But this means that I have to list all possible sub-types in the 'MeansOfTravel' complex type. Is there no way of making the XML parser assume that you mean a 'Plane' if you call the element 'plane'? Or do I have to make the choice explicit? I would just like to keep my design DRY - if you have any other suggestions (like groups or so) - i would love to hear them.

  • Can I create an xml that specifies element from 2 nested xsd's without using a prefixes?

    - by TweeZz
    I have 2 xsd's which are nested: DefaultSchema.xsd: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xs:schema id="DefaultSchema" targetNamespace="http://myNamespace.com/DefaultSchema.xsd" elementFormDefault="qualified" xmlns="http://myNamespace.com/DefaultSchema.xsd" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" > <xs:complexType name="ZForm"> <xs:sequence minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"> <xs:element name="Part" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded" type="Part"/> </xs:sequence> <xs:attribute name="Title" use="required" type="xs:string"/> <xs:attribute name="Version" type="xs:int"/> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="Part"> <xs:sequence minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"> <xs:element name="Label" type="Label" minOccurs="0"></xs:element> </xs:sequence> <xs:attribute name="Title" use="required" type="xs:string"/> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="Label"> <xs:simpleContent> <xs:extension base="xs:string"> <xs:attribute name="Title" type="xs:string"/> </xs:extension> </xs:simpleContent> </xs:complexType> </xs:schema> ExportSchema.xsd: (this one kinda wraps 1 more element (ZForms) around the main element (ZForm) of the DefaultSchema) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xs:schema id="ExportSchema" targetNamespace="http://myNamespace.com/ExportSchema.xsd" elementFormDefault="qualified" xmlns="http://myNamespace.com/DefaultSchema.xsd" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:es="http://myNamespace.com/ExportSchema.xsd" > <xs:import namespace="http://myNamespace.com/DefaultSchema.xsd" schemaLocation="DefaultSchema.xsd"/> <xs:element name="ZForms" type="es:ZFormType"></xs:element> <xs:complexType name="ZFormType"> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="ZForm" type="ZForm" maxOccurs="unbounded" /> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:schema> And then finally I have a generated xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <ZForms xmlns="http://myNamespace.com/ExportSchema.xsd"> <ZForm Version="1" Title="FormTitle"> <Part Title="PartTitle" > <Label Title="LabelTitle" /> </Part> </ZForm> </ZForms> Visual studio complains it doesn't know what 'Part' is. I was hoping I do not need to use xml namespace prefixes (..) to make this xml validate, since ExportSchema.xsd has a reference to the DefaultSChema.xsd. Is there any way to make that xml structure valid without explicitly specifying the DefaultSchema.xsd? Or is this a no go?
