  • ClassNotFoundException in Tomcat console when using jawr

    Hi, I am using Tomcat from Eclipse. When i try to start the server I am getting the following error in the console: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: net.jawr.web.servlet.JawrServlet at org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader.loadClass(WebappClassLoader.java:1516) When i deploy the war file in the Tomcat server outside of eclipse it is not having any problems. I am only getting this problem when i am trying to start tomcat from eclipse with jawr. Please let me know the solution for this problem. Thanks in advance, Jaya

  • How do I strip local symbols from linux kernel module without breaking it?

    If I do --strip-debug or --strip-unneeded, I have the .ko that lists all function names with nm, if I do just strip foo.ko I have a kernel module that refuses to load. Does anyone know a quick shortcut how to remove all symbols that are not needed for module loading so that people cannot reverse engineer the API:s as easily? PS: For all you open source bigots; this is something that general public will never be using in any case so no need to turn the question into a GPL flame war.

In order to achieve a full text search engine I have following doubts : For database based search engine should I use just lucene or some other utility based on Luncene like Solr, luSql, Compass etc. In case of Solr, can it be embeded in to the web applcation rather than deploying it as a seaparate WAR.     I have deployed my project to tomcat root, and it works fine without any problem. To acheive this I created a ROOT file TOMCAT_HOME/conf/Catalina/localhost/ROOT.xml with content below: <Context docBase="/home/user/project.war" path="" reloadable="true" /> So right now I can see my project under localhost:8080/ without any problem.. but I don't know where my project has been extracted, there is even no ROOT directory under TOMCAT_HOME/webapps, any idea?

    I am trying to create a file using File newFile = new File("myFile"); However no file called "myFile" is created. This is within a Web application Project i.e. proper form to be pakaged as a WAR but I am calling it as part of a main method (just to see how this works). How can I make it so that a new file is created at a location relative to the current one i.e not have to put in an absolute path.

    When I run my grails application using embedded jetty server(tomcat for grails 1.2), I can make changes to my controllers, services and other java files on-the-fly at runtime without restarting the application. How can I achieve the same functionality on my application deployed on Tomcat(or any server) for that matter. I have observed the exploded war folder under webapps has gsp files but not the groovy files.

  • eclipse + maven + tomcat debugging

    I'm developping a web application in Eclipse and I'm using maven, spring and tomcat. Now the problem I have is that debug as = debug on server doesn't work. I just get exceptions. (and yes I've created the server) If I use the mvn command to compile it, put the war in my tomcat webapps dir and start my tomcat the application works fine. But for the functionallity I'm now working on debugging would be usefull.

    i have a properties file (under rsources folder) in which i'm stocking a variable (key=value), i need to update it when a user insert a new value or update the older one , so can i do it ? i have doubts because it's a web application so it' simply a war deployed in the server so how it is possible to access the .properties file and change it directly from the code . if it's not possible is there another solution ? I've already gone through the major well know problems generating the ssh keys,uploading them in BitBucket,performing an ssh connection by console for adding the host to the well know list (you can find all my adventure here and here). Now,there are 3 user in my system: A,B and Shared. When I installed Jenkins it automatically placed itself in Shared, but I generated the ssh keys with the user A.   • Hudson on debian lenny

    Hello, I installed Hudson deamon on one server (running on debian lenny testing) some time ago. All was working until I perform an upgrade. At this time Hudson isn't accessible at port 8080 (which is the default port used). I have looked for iptables problems, however port 8080 is open in INPUT and OUTPUT. Configuration file in /etc/default/hudson seems okay, I haven't touch it. And if I do a ps aux | grep hudson, hudson deamon is running.
