    Hi, i have a webview in my iphone app where a google map location is opened like; Directions now the google map native app opens fine, but how could i add a RETURN button so it would jump back to my html page. Now i have to click my home button and the app close back to the desktop, so i have to start my webview again. in android its more easy, because there is always a back button and after viewing my gmap i simply back in my webview. thx chris

  • Stay on Schedule in Chrome with DayHiker

    Do you keep your schedule and tasks in Google Calendar?  Here’s a handy extension for Google Chrome that can keep you on top of your appointments without having to open Google Calendar in another tab. Integrate Google Calendar with Chrome DayHiker is a handy extension for Google Chrome that can help you stay on schedule in your browser.  Desktop applications typically can keep you notified easier with popups or alerts, but webapps require you to visit them to view your information.  DayHiker takes the best of both, and can make your Google Calendar work more like a desktop application. To get started, open the DayHiker page from the Chrome Extensions Gallery (link below), and click Install.  Confirm you wish to install it at the prompt. Now you’ll have a new extension button in your Chrome toolbar.  Click the calendar icon to view your Google Calendar.  You’ll need to be signed into your Google account for your calendar to display; click the key icon to select your account if it doesn’t show your appointments automatically. If you’re signed into multiple Google accounts, such as your public Gmail and a Google Apps account, you can select the calendar you wish and click Continue. Now you can quickly see your upcoming appointments.  Simply hover over the icon to see your upcoming events.  Or, just glance at it to see if there are any appointments coming up, as the indicator icon will change colors to show how long you have until your next appointment. Click the icon to see more information about your appointments. Or, click the Add link to add a new appointment.  If you need to edit the appointment details, click Edit Details and the appointment will open in Google Calendar for you to edit. You can also view and manage your tasks in Google Calendar.  Click the checkmark icon, and then add or check-off tasks directly from the extension pane. You can also set an alarm clock in DayHiker.  Click the green circle icon, and then enter the time for the alarm to go off.  Strangely it will only chime if the extension pane is left open, so if you click anywhere else in the browser or even switch to another program it will not chime.   If you’d like to customize DayHiker’s settings, right-click on it and select Options, or select Options in the Chrome Extensions page.  Here you can customize your badges and the DayHiker icon, or enter a custom domain for your Google Apps Pro calendar.   Conclusion If you rely on Google Calendar to stay on top of your schedule, DayHiker can help you stay scheduled and know what’s coming up.  We wish DayHiker supported multiple calendars so we could combine our Google Apps calendars with our personal Google Calendar, but even still, it is a very useful tool.  Whether you’re a tightly scheduled person or just like to jot down to-dos and keep track of them, this extension will help you do this efficiently with familiar Google tools.   • Why googling by keycaptcha gives results on reCAPTCHA? [closed]

    EDIT: I'd like to change this title to: How to STOP Google's manipulation of Google search engine presented to general public? I am frequently googling and more and more frequently bump when searching by one software product I am given instead the results on Google's own products. For ex., if I google by keyword keycaptcha for the "Past 24 hours" (after clicking on "Show search tools" -- "Past 24 hours" on the left sidebar of a browser) I am getting the Google's search results show only results on reCAPTCHA. Image uploaded later: Though, if confine keycaptcha in quotes the results are "correct" (well, kind of since they are still distorted in comparison with other search engines). I checked this during few months from different domains at different ISPs, different operating systems and from a dozen of browsers. The results are the same. Why is it and how can it be possibly corrected? My related posts: "How Gmail spam filter works?" IP adresses blacklisting Update: It is impossible for me to directly start using google.com as I am always redirected to google.ru (from google.com) by my ip-address "auto-detect location" google's "convenience". The google's help tells that it is impossible to switch off my location auto-detection because it is very helpful feature. There is a work-around to use google.com/ncr (to get google.com) (?anybody know what does it mean) to prevent redirection from google.com but even. But all results are exactly the same OK, I can search by quoted "keycaptcha", I am already accustomed to these google's quirks, but the question arises why the heck to burn time promoting someone's product if GOOGLE uses other product brands for showing its own interests/brands (reCAPTCHA) instead and what can be done with it? The general user will not understand that he was cheated and just will pick up the first (wrong) results Update2: Note that this googling behaviour: is independent on whether I am logged-in (or log-out-ed of) a google account, which account, on browser (I tried Opera, Chrome, FireFox, IE of different versions, Safari), OS or even domain; there are many such cases but I just targeted one concrete restricted example speciffically to to prevent wandering between unrelated details and peculiarities; @Michael, first it is not true and this text contains 2 links for real and significant results.. I also wrote that this is just one concrete example from many and based on many-month exp. These distortions happen upon clicking on: Past 24 hours, Past week, Past month, Past year in many other keywords, occasions/configurations of searches, etc. Second, the absence of the results is the result and there is no point to sneakingly substitute it by another unsolicited one. It is the definition of spam and scam. 3d, the question is not abt workarounds like how to write search queries or use another searching engines. The question is how to straighten the googling's results in order to stop disorienting general public about.   • Custom routes/paths/roads on Google Maps

    Hey guys. I need to know, and as quickly as possible, if what I need is achievable. I need to be able to, using either V2 OR V3 (preferably 3), create paths which ignore buildings in a sense. I was trying to create even a kml file to draw out all of the paths myself, and then find some way to turn them on/off as needed. For example. The user wants to go from point A to point B. Between these points is a number of buildings. The user physically CAN walk through these buildings(it's a campus). I want to show them that on the map. This way you don't have to do a loop-de-loop around, say, a parking lot, just to get to the other end of it. If there is ANY way AT ALL to do this, I'd love to know. An example of what I require can be found here: http://www.uottawa.ca/maps/ It's all pre-determined paths based on the two inputs from the user into the dropdown menu. I can plainly see this. But I have no clue if a) this can be done in v3, and b) how on earth they did it themselves. Assistance required, and greatly appreciated!

    Files uploaded to Google Drive sometimes incorrectly have a hidden tag when listed via the Document List v3 REST API: <category scheme='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005/labels' term='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005/labels#hidden' label='hidden'/> This happens if: a subfolder is created via the Google Drive desktop client and files are copied in, or a folder is uploaded via the Google Drive web client. The folder does not have the hidden tag, but the files that were uploaded do. The files do not have this tag if: they are individually uploaded via the Google Drive web client to the subfolder, or they are uploaded via the REST API to the subfolder, or they are uploaded via the desktop client to the My Drive root. The files and folders show up in Google Drive whether they have the hidden tag or not. We're using the API with the following scope: https://docs.google.com/feeds/ https://spreadsheets.google.com/feeds/ https://docs.googleusercontent.com/ I have verified and can recreate this with the OAuth 2.0 playground. Google Drive desktop client version 1.3.3209.2600 on Win7 32-bit I guess these must be bugs in the API...

Google now has version 6 available as a .DEB, so I decided to install that. However, that seems to have messed up both installations and now no matter what I do, I can't get Google Earth to run.     Background A site has multiple ccTLDs: example.com for people in the US, example.co.uk for UK users, example.de for Germans, etc. Googling for certain city keywords will return rich snippets with a list of Google Places: Problem When searching on Google Germany, the domain for US users (example.com) appears instead of the corresponding ccTLD (example.de) aimed at German users. This is not good user experience, as users would most likely like to book on a site localized for them (e.g. language and currency). Question What solutions are there? Is it possible to return different ccTLDs in rich snippets for Google searches in Germany/UK? If so, how? Ideas Stabs in the dark: Would implementing the hreflang annotation resolve this? (GWMT geotargeting is already set.) What about entering multiple corresponding URLs in the structured data markup? (As far as I know, Google Places accepts only a single website URL.)

    A couple of days ago I created an extension for Chrome and added it to the store. Now I want it to get verified. I payed the 5 dollar and added my website to Webmaster Tools. The website is also verified on those Webmaster Tools. Today I wanted to add my URL to my extension (ultimately to do online installations) but it doesn't recognize the URL I put in those Webmaster Tools. I tried refreshing and clicking add site, but it just doesn't work. Is there some step that I am missing or is this a bug in the Chrome Web Store, because I don't see any option left.

    I have a google translate widget on my website with gaTrack set to true and the correct gaId, but no translate events show up in analytics under content Events Overview after a week of the widget being live. The code snippet below was auto generated by the translate website, and works fine on the site.   • How to resolve "Google can't find your site's robots.txt" error?

    I've recently found that "Google can't find your site's robots.txt" in crawl errors. When I tried Fetching as Google, I got result "SUCCESS", then I tried looking at crawl errors and it still shows "Google can't find your site's robots.txt". What can I do to resolve this issue? Before this issue arose, my site was indexed within a few mintues, but now I find that it took time to be indexed in Google's search. When I access http://mydomain.com/robots.txt, it shows the data below: User-agent: *Disallow: /wp-admin/ Disallow: /wp-includes/ I found Blocked URLs = 0, also no any other errors. Is there any other thing I need to change? Or what could be the solution for this? Any help would be appreciated.

  • How can I prevent Google mistakenly offering to translate a page?

    Several of my site's pages are appearing in search results with [Translate this page] next to it. When I click that it takes me to Google Translate and translates my page "from Catalan to English". The pages are in English but have a couple of foreign words (actually Japanese romanisations, not Catalan) that appear to be tripping Google up. A few weeks ago I set the html tag to <html lang="en"> which from research appears to be the best method to specify the language of a document. Google has cached the pages with this attribute but it is still offering to translate. More research led me to a "notranslate" attribute which prevents translation entirely: <html lang="en" class="notranslate">. The problem now is users cannot translate from English to their desired language! Are there any other solutions that force Google to parse my site as English only?
