I'm not programmist, just student, who want to help other people to upgrade there economic knomledge. I learned something and can to do simple sites and paint into photoshop, but with this carousel I have got many problems. Can you help me? All plugins, which allready done, is not good, because they don't work with tables. result is ugly. But I can't change html code, because it is part of one big themplate. Can you help me?   I am creating a form designer. It will generate PHP code which will produce an HTML form. Users will fill in fields and the PHP will store user input in a MySql database (and, of course, they can use the designer to generate forms which query the database). I am using Borland C++ Builder (very similar to Delphi & and you can get the same idea from VB, MSVC, Qt ... any IDE with a RAD GUI designer). Looking at the W3C page http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_forms.asp it seems that the components I can use for my form and retrieve data from are - edit box / TEdit / <input type="text" - memo / TMemo / <input type="textarea" - check box / TCheckBox / <input type="CheckBox" - Combo box / TComboBox / <select ... <option... - Radio group / TRadioGroup / <input type="radio" - Group box / TGroupBox / <fieldset ... <legend ... - Panel / TPanel / <fieldset ... I am unsure whether to allow button / TButton/ input type="button" - other than a single submit button which my form designer program automatically adds to the end of the generated form. But my real question is - did I miss any? It might be nice to have masked edit which only accepts numbers, or maybe some form of "spin control" (TUpDown, or slider + linked read only TEdit), so that the user can click & hold to increment/decrement an integer value. And a calendar component would be nice. Very important: I want to implement it all server-side in PHP, so no client-side JS or Ajax or the likes. If there anything else that I can add to make my generated forms look more impressive in the browser?

• Best way to pan & scan images with jquery

  Hello, I am trying to make an image pan & scan system. I have a slider that zooms the image (that can be dragged) and also a small map in the corner of the image (that can also be dragged). You can see a rough example here (sorry, I am not allowed to use the design, so it's not formatted): http://lighe.madetokill.com/test/test.html My problem is that although it works great in firefox and opera, it stutters in chrome, safari and IE (it doesn't currently work in IE) at any zoom level except 100% (at 100% it's butter smooth). What is the reason for webkit's poor performance? Am I implementing this wrong? I am basically changing the margin-left and margin-top properties of the image. I know this is fast enough since at 100% it's perfectly smooth. Would I be better off using canvas? I am trying to avoid flash (or any other plugins) if possible. Also please note this is work in progress, there are other bugs except this, so do not bother with those :) Thanks in advance!

  I've created a multimedia app that uses DirectShow to display multiple media streams simultaneously. The app is a WTL MDI application. For video windows, I use a CWindowImpl derived class - one per CChildFrame. I'd like to add controls to the video windows (volume ctrls etc). I'd initially thought about adding a slider (volume) control and a couple of buttons to a context menu - but later thought that this might not be the best approach. I was looking at MS Word 2007 - which has a floating toolbar that allows you to change options on highlighted text. I'd like to implement a similar floating toolbar for the video controls. I googled around a bit and found an old post about floating toolbars in WTL. The response was - for a floating toolbar, create a popup window and make it's parent the main window. I think that this sounds like a reasonable approach. my questions: Is this a good approach, or is there a more standard approach for a floating toolbar now in WTL? Should I make the toolbar a child of the video window or the CChildFrame that contains the video window, in order to ensure that it always remains on top of the video? How can I implement transparency in the floating toolbar, as in the floating toolbar in MS word?

• How can I store HTML in a Doctrine YML fixture

  I am working with a CMS-type site in Symfony 1.4 (Doctrine 1.2) and one of the things that is frustrating me is not being able to store HTML pages in YML fixtures. Instead I have to create SQL backups of the data if I want to drop and rebuild which is a bit of a pest when Symfony/Doctrine has a fantastic mechanism for doing exactly this. I could write a mechanism that reads in a set of HTML files for each page and fills the data in that way (or even write it as a task). But before I go down that road I am wondering if there is any way for HTML to be stored in a YML fixture so that Doctrine can simply import it into the database. Update: I have tried using symfony doctrine:data-dump and symfony doctrine:data-load however despite the dump correctly creating the fixture with the HTML, the load task appears to 'skip' the value of the column with the HTML and enters everything else into the row. In the database the field doesn't show up as 'NULL' but rather empty so I believe Doctrine is adding the value of the column as ''. Below is a sample of the YML fixture that symfony doctrine:data-dump created. I have tried running symfony doctrine:data-load against various forms of this including removing all the escaped characters (new lines and quotes leaving only angle brackets) but it still doesn't work. • How to get around the event bubble using jQuery's: .live()

Here is the code in question: $(".navItems>ul>li").live('click', function(){ var selectorID = $(this).attr('id'); $(".infoList").slideUp('fast', function(){ switchTabInfo(selectorID); }); function switchTabInfo(selectorID){ var actionID = selectorID.substring(4); actionID = "#" + actionID; $(actionID).slideDown(); } So in short i have a these .infoList classes with id names tied to back to the nav li id. That lists item's id might be nav_testsHistory for example. With all the content boxes hidden by class name this javascript makes a pleasing slide up, down effect. But the third content box flickers as will the second one after a third box push. It slides up and down a second unnecessary time. If I add an alert like this: $(".navItems>ul>li").live('click', function(){ var selectorID = $(this).attr('id'); $(".infoList").slideUp('fast', function(){ switchTabInfo(selectorID); alert('bubble'); }); The alert fires 3 times?! So my research took to reading about the event bubble. What I cannot find is how to check if it has been fired. I have not tried setting an input val and doing a tf test around the nested slider action. Cause that's crude. More info, all the code above is in a function, which is in an init() function, which is called on document ready. That's the only js file besides jquery 1.3.2. What do you guys think?

The change event does not get fired when formulas change (i.e. a slider control causes a SheetCalculate event and not a SheetChange event) Is there a way to see what formulas were updated? Or is there an easier way to sync two workbooks programmatically in real time?

• Vertical crosshair reposition on Google Map after map resize Issue

  I use the following function to add a crosshair to my Google Map. It works great for horizontal resizing. I can not figure out how to make it work for vertical. I've tried firing a javascript zoom in one level but it doesn't work like zooming in with the mouse. It's only zooming in/out with the mouse scroll wheel too... clicking and dragging the zoom slider doesn't work so somehow it's liking the mouse scroll wheel. Firing addCrosshairs(); after resize makes no difference. It places the new crosshair in old spot and still requires a mouse scroll zoom.

• Trouble adding video controls to video selected by XML comboBox

  Hello, it's been a few years since I've touched flash, so perhaps I'm just overlooking something. If anyone could look at the code and offer any suggestions that would be awesome. What's working, I select a video from a combobox that is populated from an XML file, pick the video and it plays. I've been trying to add pause/play, stop, forward and reverse functionality, once I get that to work I also want to add a video scrubber(slider), and previous/next buttons to go to the previous/next video as listed in the xml file. At the moment I have a component button on the stage called playButton, which I'm trying to use for pause/play functionality. Below is my code, the player control is at the very bottom. • CSS Design question, I've got myself completely turned around.

  Okay, I have a couple of other questions out there, but I think I'd better just ask from the beginning how you CSS experts would do this. Client's page is split into 2 rows -- header has some info, some aligned to left of page, some to right, some in the middle. This is currently done using a table. I'm fine with leaving this alone or changing it. My real question is that I need a page layout to handle the following: 2 columns - column on left is 200px, but can be "close" down to to 10px (not a slider, it's either 200 or 10 px). The column on the right needs to be as big as it needs to be -- which might be larger than the width of the page. When left column is "closed" then the right column slides over of course. Again, this right column might be 300px or it might be 4000 pixels (it's a reporting interface). Now, to add another wrinkle, SOME pages have 3 columns. The first 2 columns are each exactly 200px, and both can be "closed" down to 10 px each. But, the user may not close both columns, maybe just 1. Or none. Or both. The third column needs to act just like I described above, being able to be larger than the page width, and sliding over to take advantage of any of the "closed" left columns. Whew! I'm pretty confused as to how to go about this, as either I get it right but I can't scroll over to the right at all (overflow: hidden) and information is lost, or the right column jumps down below the left 2 columns and just looks plain stupid. My minimum browser requirements are IE8, FF3.5, Chrome and Safari (latest versions of all). Any and all pointers are gladly accepted.

• NSTimer to smooth out playback position

  I have an audio player and I want to show the current time of the the playback. I'm using a custom play class. The app downloads the mp3 to a file then plays from the file when 5% has been downloaded. I have a progress view update as the file plays and update a label on each call to the progress view. However, this is jerky... sometimes even going backward a digit or two. I was considering using an NSTimer to smooth things out. I would be fired every second to a method and pass the percentage played figure to the method then update the label. First, does this seem reasonable? Second, how do I pass the percentage (a float) over to the target of the timer. Right now I am putting the percent played into a dictionary but this seems less than optimal. This is what is called update the progress bar: -(void)updateAudioProgress:(Percentage)percent { audio = percent; if (!seekChanging) slider.value = percent; NSMutableDictionary *myDictionary = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] init]; [myDictionary setValue:[NSNumber numberWithFloat:percent] forKey:@"myPercent"]; [NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:5 target:self selector:@selector(myTimerMethod:) userInfo:myDictionary repeats:YES]; [myDictionary release]; } This is called first after 5 seconds but then updates each time the method is called. • How to use SendMessage to another form in same app

  I've been trying to get this to work for some time now and can't figure it out. Probably obvious once you know it. I simply want a non-modal form (or perhaps an instantiated non-TForm class) to send a message to the application's main form. I can make the main form send a message to itself and receive (announcing with a beep) But, I can't seem to have other objects send messages to the main form. I'm using WM_MY_MESSAGE = WM_APP + 200; What should the first argument of the SendMessage be to send a message to the main form? Even sending it to Application.MainForm.Handle doesn't seem to work. The reason I need to do this is that the modal form has a slider that another form (#2) needs to know when it changes. Notifying the other form via a callback procedure was making it sluggish as form #2 did some work before returning from the call. Is having a modal form send a windows message to the main form a reasonable way to avoid this?

For example, the products in the tables are a print product(like a greeting card) that has multiple pages to render. Page 1 may have 2 text fields that can be customized, page 2 may have 3 text fields, a slider to define text size, and a drop down list to pick a color, and page 3 may have five text fields that can all be customized. All three pages (and all form elements, 12 in this example) are associated with 1 product. So when I create the product, could i add a button to create a page for that product, then within the page i can add a button to add a new form element field? I'm still somewhat new to this, so my db structure may not be ideal. i'd appreciate any suggestions and feedback! Could someone point me toward some information, tutorials, documentation, ideas, suggestions, on how I can implement this?

• rendering front-end of survey into an MVC app

  Lately I have been watching Pluralsight intro videos on MVC 3. I have never worked with the Model View Control approach before, but I'm starting to understand how these 3 crucial parts of an app are separated. I created a front-end prototype of a survey I would like to implement into a View of my MVC web app. The survey is in HTML, CSS, using jQuery to deliver content changes depending on the type of evaluation (6-11 questions), and jQuery UI for a couple slider ratings. I noticed through tutorials that you can use an HTML form and helpers that allow the user to edit content, but my prototype already allows the users to rate via radio buttons, comment text boxes, and sliders. Would I need to change any of my existing code if I just want to store this employee data to the Model, and depending on what survey's the employee has completed through the Controller, disable drop down fields? Also, would I store the current employee data on submit of survey through an HttpPost in the Controller to the Model? My apologies if my questions seem rather vague. Could someone point me in the right direction to a resource or documentation similar to my needs above? The Pluralsight videos are taking me in the wrong direction.

So my first question: 1) Aside from prototype.js, are all of the others really that needed? and 2) What is the "correct" way to remove these scripts? Layout updates? Or hardcoded in templates? I want to make the loading of my magento site as light weight as possible. thanks!

• Issues with simulating cell selection in Excel using PostMessage

  Hi all, So far I've tried drag/drop motion in many applications including Visualization software (moving time slider left/right), Photoshop-Paint (drawing) etc. I need some more testing before I make sure that my system works and it failed in Excel. I'm using the code below to send the input: m.x = 215; m.y = 200 + 36 + 9 * ( currentTime - 1 ); childH = findChild( w->getHandle(), m ); PostMessage( childH, WM_MOUSEMOVE, 0, MAKELPARAM( m.x, m.y ) ); PostMessage( childH, WM_LBUTTONDOWN, MK_LBUTTON, MAKELPARAM( m.x, m.y ) ); m.x = 215; m.y = 200 + 36 + 9 * ( currentTime ); childH = findChild( w->getHandle(), m ); PostMessage( childH, WM_MOUSEMOVE, MK_LBUTTON, MAKELPARAM( m.x, m.y ) ); PostMessage( childH, WM_LBUTTONUP, 0, MAKELPARAM( m.x, m.y ) ); I can click anywhere in Excel and select the cell, or activate buttons/menus anything. I can even drag a plot around (with the code above) but it doesn't work for clicking and dragging the mouse to select multiple cells. It just doesn't do anything. I can't use SendInput because the window doesn't have the focus and is in background. Thanks!

  A lot of marketing and content-heavy sites showcase the page's primary content using large text and/or images, sometimes with a slider, containing a call to action for signing up for a service, or downloading an app, etc.. I'm not sure what this design element is called, I got the term hero unit from twitter bootstrap: http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/components.html#typography I think most of you know what I'm trying to describe... If it's not clear I can add screenshots or links to this question. I looked at a few different sites, and some put this hero unit inside a ASIDE element, others use SECTION, ARTICLE and even HEADER. Using twitter bootstrap as an example again: <header class="jumbotron masthead"> <div class="inner"> <h1>Bootstrap, from Twitter</h1> <p>Simple and flexible HTML, CSS, and Javascript for popular user interface components and interactions.</p> <p class="download-info"> Is HEADER the most appropriate tag for this type of content?   I use SonataMediaBundle and i would like sort Gallery by created_at field.   I think this will be some obvious problem, but I cannot figure it out. I hope someone can help me. So I have a slider with 3 slides - Intro, Question, Submit Now I want to make sure that if the question is answered wrong people cannot slide to Submit.   Im using a couple of JS functions to set a cookie named 'visible' with the value of either yes or no. Essentially Im using these values to decide if a <div> is visible or hidden. I've only just added the cookie, previously I had been using two images 1. Show 2. Hide as a button to hide and show the <div> like this: HTML: <img class="show" title="Show" alt="Show" src="images/show.png" /> <img class="hide" title="Hide" alt="Hide" src="images/hide.png" /> JQUERY: $("#tool").click(function() { $(".help").slideToggle(); $("#wrapper").animate({ opacity: 1.0 },200).slideToggle(200, function() { $("#tool img").toggle(); }); }); However I have now added the Cookie into the mix: $("#tool").click(function() { if(get_cookie('visible')== null) { set_cookie('visible','no'); } else { delete_cookie('visible'); } $(".help").slideToggle(); $("#wrapper").animate({ opacity: 1.0 },200).slideToggle(200, function() { $("#slider img").toggle(); }); }); So the .toggle() no longer matches the state of the <div> When the cookie value = no the show.png should be visible When the cookie value = yes then the hide.png should be visible Can anyone suggest how i can ammend this?

• Center big image in smaller div

  I'm trying to align images in the center of a slider div. I'm adjusting FlexSlider css by the way. Here's my CSS code : .flexslider {margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 600px; height:480px; overflow:hidden;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto;} .flexslider .slides > li {display: none; -webkit-backface-visibility: hidden;} /* Hide the slides before the JS is loaded. Avoids image jumping */ .flexslider .slides img {width:auto;height:100%; display: inline-block; text-align:center;} Everything is working like I want, except that I want wider image to be centered in the div. Right now it is left-aligned. I cannot use background-image by the way. Any ideas? I also tried applying to the .flexslider .slides img : margin-left:-50%...not working margin-left:auto and margin-right:auto...not working left:50% and right:50%...not working either
