• Help migrating from VB style programming to OO programming [closed]

  Being a hobbyist Java developer, I quickly took on with OO programming and understood its advantages over procedural code from C, that I did in college. But I couldn't grasp VB event based code (weird, right?). Bottom-line is OOP came natural to me. Curently I work in a small development firm developing C# applications. My peers here are a bit attached to VB style programming. Most of the C# code written is VB6 event handling code in C#'s skin. I tried explaining to them OOP with its advantages but it wasn't clear to them, maybe because I have never been much of a VB programmer. So can anybody provide any resources: books, web articles on how to migrate from VB style to OO style programming ?

  Possible Duplicate: What are the benefits of a disk install vs. Wubi? And can I migrate my settings easily? Having never tried a Linux OS before, I want to dabble and take a look at one. Ubuntu seems like a good distro to go with (due to how popular it is) and I want to use Wubi to try it out. I just wanted to know if anything I do while trying out Ubuntu will effect my Windows Installation or the files pertaining to it in anyway? If so, is it potentially Windows breaking?

  We have a large bazaar repository and we want to convert it to a git repository. The bazaar repository contains the folders of each of the interns. Any documentation/code prepared by interns is committed in their directory so there are a huge number of commits. What steps should be performed to securely convert the bazaar repository to a git repository so that we do not lose any commit information. We firstly need to create a backup of the existing bazaar repository and then convert it.   I am trying to migrate my brother to use Ubuntu. However, his Logitech G700 mouse's scroll wheel is extremely sensitive. By sensitive, I mean that, due to the fact that it uses high-resolution scrolling, every minor nudge is interpreted as a scroll attempt. I have no way to configure this in Ubuntu - I want the OS to ignore every few events from the mouse scroll wheel to make it work properly. xev in a terminal is going crazy whenever I even lay a finger on the scroll wheel. How can I fix this issue?

  I have just migrate to Ubuntu 12.10 and I have noticed that I have huge problem with my bluetooth mouse left click button on a high load (wired, but scroll and right button are not affected) (I think powersave cpu mode affect that more than cpu load) It just not "trigger the interrupt". Mouse is laggy, click are not reggisterd. I can not work like that. At the same time, my touchpad and usb mouse works great. How to check that - limit cpu frequency (I use powersave and ondemend mode) I now wonder, what should I log, check, measure, to capture enough data to fill bug report. • Moving large amounts of data between shared hosts

  I recently acquired a client who is a photographer and was interested in moving web hosts since his current host had threatened to throw him off due to CPU spiking. The migration went fairly easily, with about 350MBs of website and media files. Then I discovered about 60GBs of client galleries he had failed to mention. I am unable to move this much data myself, since I'm capping out at about 20kb/s on the FTP connection. Has anyone encountered a situation where they needed to migrate this much data between cheap hosting? Should we contact the hosting companies about this (he is moving from Westhost to MediaTemple)?

• How do I install xulrunner in 12.04?

  I am trying to migrate a virtual machine I use for my classes at the university from 10.04 to 12.04 and in that I am using xulrunner so that first, I can have SQLiteManager as a stand alone app next, KNIME can provide help for its nodes I tried adding the the mozilla ppa as described in some posts, e.g. here or here, but when I search for xulrunner in Synaptic I get no match. I read in this link, that xulrunner was left out intentionally, which, frankly, I think is a bad decision! Anyway, does anyone know a way out of this, i.e. how to get xulrunner for 12.04? Any help appreciated!

  I have previously forked other people's repos on GitHub, and I have noticed that issues stay with the original repo, and that I can't file issues on the forked repo. I now have the following task. I am working for a small business where development was being done by one of the principals on his personal account. He has amicably left the project, and we would like to migrate that project away from his personal account to a new "role" account on GitHub. I would naturally fork the repo, in order to preserve the code history, but then I'll end up with a repo where we can't file new issues, which is quite undesirable. How can I make a copy of this original repo into our new account, ideally still preserving code history, but be able to file new issues within this new account?

  I dual-boot my laptop due to lousy VM performance, and have a new 500GB/7200rpm drive coming in to replace the stock 320GB/5400rpm drive. I have the drive set up in three partitions: one for the Win7 system files, one for storage, and the third as the ext4 Linux file system. The system file and storage partitions are both NTFS. What I'm planning to do is use the system image creator built in Win7, then move that over to the new drive.   I got a question about LDoms: "Is it possible to move a Control Domain built through Ops Center with pre-existing LDoms into a server pool? If so, do I need to delete and recreate anything?" Yes, you can do this. You have to stop the LDom guests, and then you can add the CDom to a Server Pool. If the guests are using shared storage, you should be able to bring them up in the Server Pool. If the guests are not on shared storage, you can use the Migrate Storage option to bring their storage in.
