  • Is an Iframe my only option?

    - by cyggi
I have a job to develop a website. My client wants it so that there is a header, a menu and for the content a rectangle-like box in which you can scroll the text. So that header and menu don't move but the text in the box does. It should look like this: ***********header image *********** menu menu menu menu -------------- | you || | can || | scroll in || | this box || |_____________ Is my only option to implement this an iframe? Would it be bad practice to use an iframe for this?

  • Need help to understand :source option of has_one/has_many through of Rails

    - by Tri Vuong
Hi Please help me in understanding the :source option of has_one/has_many through association. The Rails api explanation makes very little sense to me "Specifies the source association name used by has_many :through queries. Only use it if the name cannot be inferred from the association. has_many :subscribers, :through = :subscriptions will look for either :subscribers or :subscriber on Subscription, unless a :source is given. " Thanks.

  • ANY way to consolidate this code?

    - by JM4
I am building a PHP registration form which takes the following fields for up to 20 athletes: First Name Middle Initial Last Name Federation Number Address City State Zip DOB SSN Phone Email I am only through 7 of the fields for each fighter and my php file is very large (over 40kb). Is there ANY way to consolidate this code at all? I am also having to validate the information on each field (as I said - 20 athletes x 12 fields = 240 validations on a single page). If I can send any further code let me know! <form id="Form" action="<?php $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>" method="post" name="Form" onsubmit="return Enroll_Form_Validator(this)"> <p class="title">Your Fighters' Information</p> <p>Please complete the following fields with your <span style="color:red;"> Fighters' Information</span> to continue your enrollment.</p> <br /> <?php // if $errors is not empty, the form must have failed one or more validation // tests. Loop through each and display them on the page for the user if (!empty($errors)) { echo "<div class='error'>Please fix the following errors:\n<ul>"; foreach ($errors as $error) echo "<li>$error</li>\n"; • Suggestions for html tag info required for jQuery Plugin

    - by Toby Allen
I have written a tiny bit of jQuery which simply selects all the Select form elements on the page and sets the selected property to the correct value. Previously I had to write code to generate the Select in php and specify the Selected attribute for the option that was selected or do loads of if statements in my php page or smarty template. Obviosly the information about what option is selected still needs to be specified somewhere in the page so the jQuery code can select it. I decided to create a new attribute on the Select item <Select name="MySelect" SelectedOption="2"> <-- Custom Attr SelectedOption <option value="1">My Option 1 </option> <option value="2">My Option 2 </option> <-- this option will be selected when jquery code runs <option value="3">My Option 3 </option> <option value="4">My Option 4 </option> </Select> Does anyone see a problem with using a custom attribute to do this, is there a more accepted way, or a better jquery way?

  • How Does The Maybe Monad Relate To The Option Type?

    - by Onorio Catenacci
I was doing a presentation on F# and was discussing the Option type when someone in the audience asked me if the Option type is F#'s implementation of the maybe monad. I know that's not the case but I did want to ask how the two concepts are related. I mean it seems to me that an option type might be the result of the operation of a maybe monad but I'm not even sure of that. Would someone elucidate the relationship between the maybe monad and the option type in those functional languages which support it?

  • The extern alias 'xxx' was not specified in a /reference option

    - by Brian Ensink
I have two assemblies that unfortunately define the same type in the same namespace. I'm trying to use a an extern alias to work around the problem. In the Visual Studio IDE I have set the "Aliases" property of the reference to my alias. This is supposed to change the C# compiler command line to be something like this: /reference:MyAlias=MyAssembly.dll But it doesn't actually do that. The Visual Studio IDE seems to just ignore the Aliases property setting on the reference. So when I go and add the line extern alias MyAlias; at the top of my C# code file I get the error that the alias was not specified in a /reference option to the compiler. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Any ideas?

  • Visual Studio 2010 - Export Template menu option grayed out

    - by Jakobud
In Visual Studio, I want to make a simple C++ project and export it out as a template, so I can use the template to start new projects to save me time. But the Export Template menu option is always grayed out. I've not once been able to click it. Anyone know why? Anyone know how to accomplish what I need (besides the obvious "make a copy of an existing project in explorer")? It seems like project templates should be a no-brainer feature for VS. This seems to be the case for Visual Studio 2005, 2010 (I probably 2008 as well I haven't checked).
