Appreciated any help on these : - If I need to develop test and deploy Android Apps do I NEED AN ANDROID Hardware device or is there a software Android Simulator like VMWARE or Virtual PC , where I can emulate the results.If there is such can you point me more info I have a Netbook ( the Chinese Ipad Clone ) running Android that has only Wi-Fi for the present. Is it possible to add the following features via the spare USB Port --- a USB Based 56K Modem : Are there Android platform H/W Drivers. --- a USB based RJ45 ( Ethernet LAN LandLine connection ) Adapter :Are there Android platform H/W Drivers.   I'm a c# developer in a medium/small company. I use to do quick test of the apps that my workmates made and they use to test my applications. We test each form based in our experience. (yes, I know this is not a very formal method) Now a new guy without experience are going to join our team. We think now is the momento to make a little list of things that all we should test in each form. Divided by categories. For example usability: Test that the taborder of each control are properly setted, or Valitacion: Test that the max lenght of each textbox match with the max lenght of a field in the DB...etc We don't one to Reinvent the Wheels, so I want to know if such kind of document already exists.   I am struggling to find a good tutorial or best practices document for the use of memcache in app engine. I'm pretty happy with it on the level presented in the docs. Get an object by ID, checking memcache first, but I'm unclear on things like: If you cache a query, is there an accepted method for ensuring that the cache is cleared/updated when an object stored in that query is updated. What are the effects of using ReferenceProperties ? If a cache a Foo object with a Bar reference. Is my foo.bar in memcache too and in need of clearing down if it gets updated from some other part of my application. I don't expect answers to this here (unless you are feeling particularly generous!), but pointers to things I could read would be very gratefully received.

I not able to find a complete tutorial or installation which is install phpundercontrol in WAMP environment, I have no any experience about php unit test, but we know we need it.   Hello friends i need a book/ tutorials for rails without using scoffold. All the books mentioned in the other questions are creating some depot application or etc using scaffold and then explaining things. I believe in the thing that creating big depot is worthless when you are not getting anything. All of my frnds are suggesting me to go for this pragmatic book. look i understand the book is good but i m not getting the proper things. I got the logic cause i m good in php doctrine. asp.net c c++ so i m getting the things but i m not feeling confident. I want to have a another book. Can anybody suggest me some other books. I m saying this cause it really feels good when u create a simple form and insert the values in db and u can retreive those values and MOST IMP you can explain the whole logic of the that small form application instaed of that colorfull Depot application in which things are done with scaffold and u r not getting the thing and u are confused abt the real picture.

I'm not looking for an official standard, but pragmatic tips I can use to set a good standard for my projects. I haven't used too much of Swing by myself.   Hi..:) For documentation and presentation purposes, we often find professionals/students creating SRS, coding guidelines etc. for these things there is some kind of a checklist which one could use to appropriately match what could relate to a specific case and accordingly one does a documentation for each. On those grounds could you please give me some sort of a checklist( any points/guidelines) one could use for going about Implementation( in the form of Implementation Details) in Python and C++ . Although this might sound specific as the query is "Implementation Details" and is different for different cases as one goes about the REAL implementation, I just want a SET of guidelines one should follow ( Preferably In Python, C++ specific, even for any other language is Welcome) if this( Implementation Details ) has to also be documented or presented.   i just had this thought, and was wondering if it's possible to crawl the entire web (just like the big boys!) on a single dedicated server (like Core2Duo, 8gig ram, 750gb disk 100mbps) . I've come across a paper where this was done....but i cannot recall this paper's title. it was like about crawling the entire web on a single dedicated server using some statistical model. Anyways, imagine starting with just around 10,000 seed URLs, and doing exhaustive crawl.... is it possible ? I am in need of crawling the web but limited to a dedicated server. how can i do this, is there an open source solution out there already ? for example see this real time search engine. http://crawlrapidshare.com the results are exteremely good and freshly updated....how are they doing this ?

• JTable Design Guide in Swing Application

  I have a really hard design problem in my swing application. Generally Speaking, I have a JTable and a JLabel to display. The label is right below the JTable. When the height of these two components doesn't exceed a threshold, then the jtable and label displays as normal. Then height of these two components will increase as the number of records filled in the table increases. When the height of these two components exceeds a threshold, I want there is a scrollbar in the JTable and the height of these two components will be the threshold. Is this design Possible?   Hello -- I'm a biologist switching careers, and trying to learn programming as a result. I stumbled upon the aforementioned book on Amazon, which jived with my liberal arts background. Despite my great satisfaction with the didactic approach, I was frustrated to see that the answers to the exercises are restricted to teachers only. As I am pursuing this endeavor on my own, this restriction dramatically cripples the value of this book. My request to the author's website for access to the answers has not been answered, and I would desperately like to continue with this book. Anyone have any experience dealing with the book's website, or at the very least a torrent of the answers? Otherwise, I suspect I will be relegated to using JavaScript for everything! Thanks!

  We're trying to figure out the best way to write tests in our test plan. Specifically, when writing a test that is meant to be used by anyone including QA staff, should the steps in the test be very specific or more broad giving the tester more leeway in how the task can be accomplished. As a very simple example, if you're testing opening a document in word processing document, should the test read: Using the mouse, open the file menu Choose "Open File..." in the file menu In the open file dialog that appears, navigate to x and double-click the document called y OR Bring up the file open dialog Open the file y Now I realize one answer is probably going to be "it depends on what you're trying to test" but I'm trying to answer a broader question here: If the test steps are too specific do we risk a) making the testing process to laborious and tedious and more importantly b) do we risk missing something because we wrote down too specific a path to achieve a goal. Alternatively, if we make it broad do we depend too much on the whims of the tester at the time and lose crucial testing of paths that are more common to customers/clients?
