    I use passport.js to handle auth on my nodejs + express.js application. I setup a LocalStrategy to take users from mongodb My problems is that users have to re-authenticate when I restart my node server. This is a problem as I am actively developing it and don't wan't to login at every restart...   • restart of web dev server every time load ASP.NET MVC application

    Hi, I continously get this problem (stack trace below) when I start my ASP.NET MVC application and have to restart the web dev server and then it goes away. It appears to be happening on when I make modification in my jquery and then try to restart the application. protected void Application_Start() { InitialiseIocContainer(); RegisterViewEngine(ViewEngines.Engines); RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes); SetupLogging(); } It appears to get caugth on the Application_start in global.asax. I've done lots of search in google but no luck.     This question may seem daft (I'm a new to 'programming' and should probably stop if this is the type of question I'm required to ask)... What are: "basic programs like, recursion, fibonacci, factorial, string manipulation, small trick programs"? I've recently read Coding Horror - the non programmer and followed the links to Kegel and How to get hired. Then I delved through some similar questions here (hence the block quote) and I realised that as a fully fledged non-programmer I probably wouldn't know if I knew recursion (or any of the others) because I wouldn't know what it looked like, or why it was used, and what the results would look like after it was used. I suppose I'm trying to get a picture of "the basics". What the principles are and why we learn them - where they'll be used and what result/s your looking for. If they'll be used as an interview question during my first interview sometime in 2020 I would like to look less ignorant than those 199 out of 200 who just don't know the how, or the why, of programming.   • Working around "one executable per project" in Visual C# for many small test programs

    When working with Visual Studio in general (or Visual C# Express in my particular case), it looks like each project can be configured to produce only one output - e.g. a single executable or a library. I'm working on a project that consists of a shared library and a few application, and I already have one project in my solution for each of those. However, during development I find it useful to write small example programs that can run one small subsystem in isolation (at a level that doesn't belong in the unit tests). Is there a good way to handle this in Visual Studio? I'd like to avoid adding several dozen separate projects to my solution for each small test program I write, especially when these programs will typically be less than 100 lines of code. I'm hoping to find something that lets me continue to work in Visual Studio and use its build system (rather than moving to something like NAnt). I could foresee the answer being something like: A way of setting this up in Visual Studio that I haven't found yet A GUI like NUnit's graphical runner that searches an assembly for classes with defined Main() functions that you can select and run A command line tool that lets you specify an assembly and a class with a Main function to run

  • SQL Server becomes slow after restart

    We use SQL Server 2005 on an Windwos Server 2008. Ther Server has 48 GB RAM. SQL Server is configured to use 40 GB RAM. There is only one database hosted (About 70 GB). The only app beside SQL Server is our App-Server which connects the clients to the database. Now we encounter the following problem: After a restart of the server our the performance is great. The server grabs the 40 GB RAM wich it is allowed to and then runs fast as hell. But after about 4 weeks the system becomes slower and slower. The execution of statements (seen in the profiler) is raising slowly. But I cannot see that there is something going wrong on the server. CPU usage is at about 20% I/O also seems to be no Problem The process monitor does also not show that there are strange apps or something like that. Eventlog does also have no interessting messages No open transactions or blockings to see We tried already the following things without effect: Droped the cache by using the statements DBCC FreeProcCache DBCC FREESYSTEMCACHE('ALL') DBCC DropCleanbuffers Restarted the Appserver we are using. Restart the sql server service But nothing did help exept restarting the whole server. Any ideas?

  • How do I restart mysql and where is my.cnf file

    I am using snow leopard mac. I installed mysql on my machine using instructions mentioned here. Everything works great. However I have two questions. 1) Where is my.cnf file? I searched the whole file system and result is empty. Is it possible that there is no my.cnf and mysql works with default values. If yes then probably I should create my.inf at /etc/mysql. Is that right? 2) How do I restar server. I know it gets started when I restart my machine.     I'm a computer science student, and I'm just starting to write relatively larger programs for my coursework (between 750 - 1500 lines). Up until now, it's been possible to get by with any reasonable level of modularization and object oriented design. However, now that I'm writing more complex code for my assignments I'd like to learn to write better code. Can anyone point me in the direction of some resources for learning about what sort of things to look for when designing your program's architecture so that you can make it as modularized as possible?

    Is it possible to restart server from ASP.NET application that is hosted by LocalSystem or LocalService account. This is working when I create custom administrative account and put AppPool to run under that account: Process.Start("shutdown", "/r /d 4:1 /t 10"); However, I don't want to have custom accounts (because of password expiry and need to update all AppPools when User passwords are changed). So, is this possible?

    Hi all I'm attempting to write a PowerShell script that, among other things, runs two external programs, harvesting the output of one and providing it to the other. The problem is that the second program is interactive and asks for: - a password - an option (1, 2, or 3) - an option (Y or N) - output of external program 1 Note also that this is on XP with PowerShell v1 and .net v2.0 (no I can't upgrade) Any ideas how I would do this?
