Anyone want to share an Xcode project that has MGTwitterEngine in it? Mine won't compile. Are there certain project settings to set? I just made a stock tab bar app for iPhone and added the MGTwitterEngine files. Tons of compiler errors. What am I missing?
Hi,
While I am playing with Rubycocoa, I created a small application that works like a charm. However, the only thing missing is like a Terminal inside my application. In Coda, there is a similar kind of view that allows you to open up a terminal session. How would I create a Terminal view like this inside Interface Builder and XCode?
Thank you for your answers, comments and feedback!
Hi All,
In eclipse when you click on a method name a variable, or an object for example, the same ones are highlited in a specific color elsewhere in the code for easy finding.
Is there a similar feature in Xcode?
I'd like to change the font size of the "Groups & Files" panel of the Xcode IDE. I know how to change the "Fonts & Colors" in the preferences, but those (seem to) only affect the code window, not the rest of the IDE. Any ideas? Thanks!
How do you compile a resource into the binary in XCode? That way is doesn't show up inside the application bundle as a file and it's not subject to manipulation by a user (whether good-intentioned or bad).
Is this even possible?
I'm particularly interested about this in terms of iPhone apps.
Any help is appreciated!
I'd like to know if is it possible to set up XCode to do the reference counting and show warnings if number of "retain" and "release" are not matching?
This should be so simple, and yet, it is evading me: When stopped at a breakpoint in the Xcode/gdb debugger, I wish to find the current refcount of an object derived from NSObject. How can I do this? I can't seem to find a way, and it is driving me mad.
Hi,
When using visual studio to develop c++ applications, I used to write _asm int 3; and then build the application. When the application is executed, if the code path that has "_asm int 3" is encountered Visual Studio Debugger used to get lauched and I could debug the problems.
Is there any similar approach when developing using Xcode on Mac OS X?
Thanks a lot.
Mark
I was reading this great article about Base SDK and Deployment targets and decided to try it out myself. The Deployment target seems to be buried in the Build settings, and not that easy to access compared to the Base SDK target (which is right there in the General tab of the project settings). To get to the Deployment settings now I have to Get Info, go to the Build tab, then search for "Deployment".
Is there a quick way to check and access the Deployment target in Xcode that I'm missing?
How do I link up a mouse rollover action on a label, or any invisible object I can place over the label. I can't find it the label's action list
Using xcode 3.2 and Interface builder
Hi

Now we have v4, what settings do I have to make in order that the apps still work with 3.x ?
Thanks
Hi,
I am new to Mac OSX, and I wonder if Xcode can generate , for a given C++ source code, the call graph of the program in a visual way.
I also wonder if for each function, and after a run, whether it can also print the %time spent on the function
If so, I would thank really some links with tutorials or info, after googling I did not find anything relevant
Thanks
Hi,
When you configure xcode to use the All-in-one layout, a toggle appears to allow you to switch between project and debug 'mode' (the IDE calls these pages).
Is there a keyboard shortcut to perform the toggle?
Thanks, Adam.
I created a .xcdatamodel Managed Object Model file in Xcode. I selected that file in Groups & Files. Then I go to File New... and nowhere in the iPhone Templates / Cocoa Touch Class templates I see the "Managed Object Class" file template.
Does anyone know what can be wrong?
Is there a way to suppress warnings in Xcode?
For example I am calling an undocumented method and since the method is not in the header I get a warning on compile. I know I can add it to my header to stop the warning, but I am wondering if there is a way other then adding it to the header (so I can keep the headers clean and standard) to suppress the warning? A pragma or something?
Either this is a nightmare or it really does not seem to bother anyone that to increase font-size in xcode is a pain in the butt ... I googled and no one seems to have answer to this question ... please tell me its a nightmare.
XCode - When I select a search result it opens it in a new window. Is there a way to make this open in the main editor window. I could not find the 'Group' setting for the main editor window. All the child windows which open have this 'Group' setting which causes the search result selection to open in the same child window.
Thanks
Looking for an alternative to command line gdb for examining core dumps on OSX - is there some way to get Xcode to open arbitrary core dumps w/ debugging symbols?
