• Intercept and ignore keyboard event in Windows 7 32bit

  Hi all, My hardware has a problem, from time to time it's sending a "keydown" followed by a "keyup" of event: keydown: None LButton, OemClear 255 keyup: None LButton, OemClear 255 keydown: None LButton, OemClear 255 keyup: None LButton, OemClear 255 It goes like this forever, in Windows. In general it doesn't affect most of the applications, because this key is not printable. I think it's a special function key, like a media key or something. It doesn't do anything. But, in some applications that LISTEN to keydown and keyup, I get undesire and unexpected behaviour. Is there a way to intercept these 2 events in Windows (for all applications, for Windows itself) and make the OS ignore them? This is really important to me, if you can think of any solution, I'd be forever thankful.

• How do you draw a line from one corner of the stage to the other?

  I am completely perplexed. I asked this question and it (any mentioned solution) doesn't seem to be working at all. All I want is to draw a line from one corner to the other. • Mandatory profile on Terminal server fails to load. Userenv.log debug

  Hi, We're having a lot of corrupted profiles lately on our profile share. At the moment I have no clue why, but I decided to switch to one mandatory profile since the users can all use the same and there is no need to have seperate profiles for each user. Here's what I did. I logged into the Terminal server with a new user and configured some stuff (imported certificates and a few files). Then I logged out. Later as admin I copied the profile to another server and renamed it to bsilo. I made sure the user hive settings were adjusted. Everyone had access to the hive. I shared the bsilo folder with full access for everyone. I set the NTFS permissions to read, read & execute, list folder contents for domain users. I also renamed NTUSER.DAT to NTUSER.MAN. Now I set a env variable %manprofile% on the Terminal server that points to \server\bsilo\ntuser.man I set the env var as terminal services profile path for a test user. When I log in I as the user get the following output The system cannot find the path specified. Can somebody point me in the right direction. • How to render a Partial from a Model in Rails 2.3.5

  I have a Rails 2.3.5 application and Im trying to render several Partials from within a Model (i know, i know -- im not supposed to). The reason im doing this is im integrating a Comet server (APE) into my Rails app and need to push updates out based on the Model's events (ex. after_create). I have tried doing this: ActionView::Base.new(Rails::Configuration.new.view_path).render(:partial => "pages/show", :locals => {:page => self}) Which allows me to render simple partials that don't user helpers, however if I try to user a link_to in my partial, i receive an error stating: undefined method `url_for' for nil:NilClass I've made sure that the object being passed into the "project_path(project)" is not nil. I've also tried including: include ActionView::Helpers::UrlHelper include ActionController::UrlWriter in the Module that contains the method that makes the above "render" call. Does anyone know how to work around this? Thanks

  I am trying to make an information label that should display the events the application doing. deleting data, reading data, writing data, connection to db. etc.. I've added a label to my form and I am changing its text property for each operation like: label1.Text = "stored procedure is being executed.."; But, in the run time the text of the label does not change. I've tried to add the method Application.DoEvents(); to every place I've changed the label's text property. It works fine. But it looks silly. So I've tried to add this method to my label's "TextChanged" event. But it does not work! Am I doing something wrong? Or, is there any efficient way to make an information label?

  Hi I have a Repeater and I am doing various things during the ItemDataBound event. My Repeater is in a control. What I am noticing is that the things that are supposed to happen in the ItemDataBound event happen after the Page_Load of the page hosting the control. Is there a way to use some sort of ItemDataBoundComplete trigger so I can do other things on my page after the events of the ItemDataBound have taken place? • Grouping Windows Forms Radiobuttons with different parent controls in C#

  Hi, I've got a Windows Forms application in which I have a number of RadioButtons. These RadioButtons are placed within a FlowLayoutPanel which automatically arranges them for me. All RadioButtons that are directly added to the FlowLayoutPanel are grouped, meaning I can select only one of them. However, some of these RadioButtons are paired up with a TextBox so I can supply some argument there. But to have all this arranged properly, I add a Panel control to the FlowLayoutPanel so I can control the alignment of the RadioButton and TextBox relatively to each other myself. These RadioButtons now have their own respective Panels as parent controls and thus are no longer included in the radio group with the other RadioButtons. I read that the the RadioButtons that are in the System.Web.UI namespace have a GroupName property, but unfortunately their System.Windows.Forms counterparts lack this property. Is there some other way I can group these radio buttons are am I going to have to handle onClick events myself? Thanks, Jerry

  I have an ActiveX control written in C++ that runs in Internet Explorer 8. Most of the time (approx 90%) when the tab or browser containing the control is closed, there is an access violation like this: The thread 'Win32 Thread' (0x1bf0) has exited with code 0 (0x0). Unhandled exception at 0x77b3b9fd in iexplore.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x65007408. The access violation occurs after the call to OnDestroy() but before the call to the control's destructor. The debug output says: No symbols are loaded for any call stack frame. The source code cannot be displayed. None of my code is present in the stacktrace, although perhaps the heap was corrupted at some earlier point during execution. What lifecycle events does an ActiveX control receive between the call to OnDestroy() and the control's destructor?

• Passing more than one argument in asp.net button in gridview

  I have a TemplateField column in a gridview with a button inside of it. There is NO key value (surely that was not designed by me) , but in the other hand there aren't redundancies when comparing each single column, because they are events, and there is "starting date" and "ending date" of something that could not happen twice at the same time. I've already figured selecting with these values and all, but I just want the button to pass about five arguments to a given function. I've tested: <asp:Button CommandArgument='<%# Eval("day")%>' ID="Button2" runat="server" Text="Button" /> And it works properly, the day of the clicked row is passed, and could be retrieved through: e.CommandArgument.ToString(); in the GridView_RowCommand handler. How do I pass more than one argument? I've thought about concatenating with a separating character (wouldn't be that bad) but besides not knowing how to do it yet (didn't want to invest in a poor solution) I want a smarter one.

  Is OpenGL ES really so much faster? Why? And is it really so horrible complicated to draw such simple things in OpenGL ES compared to drawing these in Quartz 2D? For example, I have a UIView subclass with -drawRect: implemented, where I draw some lines, curves and circles. Just simple paths, with some shadow. What would I do in OpenGL ES? Isn't there this nice EAGLView layer thing? One thing that comes to mind is how do touch events go into OpenGL ES? Maybe that's the complex thing about it? Are there tutorials on basic drawing operations in OpenGL ES?

  Is it possible to extend the gap between spoken words when using text to speech with SAPI5 ? The problem is that esp. with some voices, the words are almost connected to each other, which makes the speech more difficult to understand. I'm using python and pyTTS module (on windows, since it's using SAPI) I tried to hook to the OnWord event and add a time.sleep() or tts.Pause(), but apparently even though all the events are caught, they are being processed only at the end of the spoken text, whether i'm using the sync or async flag. In this NON WORKING example, the sleep() method is executed only after the sentence is spoken: tts = pyTTS.Create() def f(x): tts.Pause() sleep(0.5) tts.Resume() tts.OnWord = f tts.Speak(text)

  Okay so, I'm wondering how to unbind an inline onclick event in jQuery. You'd think .unbind() would work, however it doesn't.   I've done this using a regular .cs file that just extends System.Web.UI.UserControl and then included the assembly of the project that contains the control into other projects. I've also created .ascx files in one project then copied all ascx files from a specified folder in the properties-Build Events-Pre-build event. Now what I want to do is a combination of those two: I want to be able to use ascx files that I build in one project, in all of my other projects but I want to include them just using assembly references rather than having to copy them to my "secondary" projects as that seems a ghetto way to accomplish what I want to do. It works yes, but it's not very elegant. Can anyone let me know if this even possible, and if so, what the best way to approach this is?

  I need to inject a dll into one or more external processes, from which I also want to intercept keybord events. That's why using SetWindowsHookEx with WH_KEYBOARD looks like an easy way to achieve both things in a single step. Now I really don't want to install a global hook when I'm only interested in a few selected processes, but Windows hooks seem to be either global or thread-only. My question is now how I would properly go about setting up a process-wide hook. I guess one way would be to set up the hook on the target process' main thread from my application, and then doing the same from inside my dll on DLL_PROCESS_ATTACH for all other running threads (plus on DLL_THREAD_ATTACH for threads started later). But is this really a good way? And more important, aren't there any simpler ways to setup process-wide hooks? My idea looks quite cumbersome und ugly, but I wasn't able to find any information about doing this anywhere.

  hi guys, i'm new to the asp.net mvc, and while working on this, i used very basic asp.net mvc stuff like beginform, etc. i used a lot of jquery codes this round for client side validation, ajax data retrieval, and other gui works. and i used a combinations of html inputs buttons, etc and the asp.net mvc type of controls. what i noticed is that whenever i click on a button control, which sometimes are tied to either jquery oclick events, when there's a javascript error, the page will just go on and submit. why is this happening and what am i missing here? my bad for the dumb questions.. thanks

• iPhone - Browsing iPhone files through computer

  I want to be able to send files from an iPhone app to a computer. What would be the easiest way of doing this? I've made simple server client programs before, but in those, the client has always needed to connect to the server before being able to receive messages from it. There is an app for the iPhone called iSimulate, where you put a server on a Mac (the iPhone simulator), and then you use the iSimulate app of an iTouch or iPhone to send touch events to the server. This app does not require you to type in an ip-address. Instead it presents a list of available computers that have this server up and running. How exactly is this being done? Can a server broadcast a message over a network, w/o anyone being connected to the server? How does that work? How does a client listen for that broadcast?   Hi, I have a jquery datepicker and I need to be able to change the background color for the selected cell date, I'm trying with something like: $("#fecha").datepicker({ onSelect: function(value, date) { alert(date.css()); } }); hoping that the date parameter refers to the selected cell, but it doesn't seem to work. Any suggestion? //Edit: The solution should let me have different cells with different colors setted dinamically, this is why I'm trying with onSelect instead of changing the css directly. The purpose is to have a calender with events established by the user. Thanks in advance.

• The Reason of Service Termination

  I use a service application I created in Delphi. My problem is that it is sometimes terminated by the operating system and I don't know why this happens. When I go the the system events, I can find a piece of information like this one: Event ID: 7034, The [...] service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this [...] time(s). I know you can't give me an answer why this happens, but could you please give me a clue what to pay attention to to find the reason of that behaviour? For instance what kind of exceptions could make the OS close an application. Thank you in advance.

  Create custom component which contains Combobox and Datagrid. Application conations two button 1) Same Window and 2) New Window. (Label of two button) When you click on “Same Window” button your custom component should get added dynamically in your application. And when you click on “New Window” button your custom component should get open in different window (it should get shifted from application and should appear in Window component). Issue faced:- Clicking on Combobox, list is not getting open as change event doesn’t get fired in Native Window as it looses reference from main application. Issue with DataGrid in Native window (AIR). • DataGridEvent.COLUMN_STRETCH event get affected if try to open datagrid in Native Window. • DataGridEvent get fired but takes long time or even stuck while column stretch Note: Application is an Desktop Application. Only one instance is created in Application for your custom component to preserve current state on your custom component it can be Style, data, or other subcomponent state of your custom component (as above mentioned 2 component are just sample). • C# Language Design: explicit interface implementation of an event

  Small question about C# language design :)) If I had an interface like this: interface IFoo { int Value { get; set; } } It's possible to explicitly implement such interface using C# 3.0 auto-implemented properties: sealed class Foo : IFoo { int IFoo.Value { get; set; } } But if I had an event in the interface: interface IFoo { event EventHandler Event; } And trying to explicitly implement it using field-like event: sealed class Foo : IFoo { event EventHandler IFoo.Event; } I will get the following compiler error: error CS0071: An explicit interface implementation of an event must use event accessor syntax I think that field-like events is the some kind of dualism for auto-implemented properties. So my question is: what is the design reason for such restriction done?

• How to order a TimeZone list in .NET?

  I have an ASP.NET web application that requires users to select their appropriate time zone so that it can correctly show local times for events. In creating a simple approach for selecting the time zone, I started by just using the values from TimeZoneInfo.GetSystemTimeZones(), and showing that list. The only problem with this is that since our application is primarily targeted at the United States, I'd like to show those entries first, basically starting with Eastern Time and working backwards (West) until I reach Atlantic time. What's a good approach to do this in code?
