  • XNA AdGameComponent does not draw

    - by Alex Shkor
I have following code. But AddGameComponent doesn't draw. protected override void Initialize() { // TODO: Add your initialization logic here base.Initialize(); var li = new LicenseInformation(); IsTrial = li.IsTrial(); if (IsTrial) { AdGameComponent.Initialize(this, AppID); Components.Add(AdGameComponent.Current); CreateAd(); } } private void CreateAd() { bannerAd = AdGameComponent.Current.CreateAd(AdUnitID, new Rectangle(x, y, width, height), true); AdGameComponent.Current.Enabled = true; } I have tried to set DrawOrder to 1000, but ads still doesn't work.

  • Using cachedwithin attibute inside cfquery

    - by Jason
When you use the cachedwithin attribute in a cfquery how does it store the query in memory. Does it store it by only the name you assign to the query? For example, if on my index page I cache a query for an hour and name it getPeople will a query with the same name on a different page (or the same page for that matter) use the cached results or does it use some better logic to decide if it is the same query? Also, if there is a variable in your query does the cache take into account the value of the variable?

  • How to restructure ASP.NET application

    - by Ram
Hi, I have a sample ASP.NET application. The appliaction was developed as POC and not following any design and architectural standards. Now I want to restructure the application. I can see some of the business logic and controls can be reused in future, such as login control. I have two options for restructuring I create a Utility DLL that will contain all such resusable code and another DLL that will contain all controls that can be reused. I will create a separeate DLL for each type which can be reused e.g. Login control. Which option is more better. Although I feel option 1 is good, but I need suggestion from experts.

  • Image as a background of a form in Delphi

    - by Averroes
I'm using Delphi 2006. I have a few PNG images with transparencies and I have to create a GUI using them (top bar, left panel...). The images have different aligns properties. One of the images is the background of the form. The problem here is that I can't align it as alClient because it only occupies the rectangular zone that the other images have left, showing the naked canvas in their transparent zones. What I need is that the background image is put behind all the other images and taking all the canvas size. Is there anyway to do this? I know I can do this writting some logic in the OnResize event of the form but I was just curious if I was missing something. Thanks.

  • Which SharePoint Authentication Mode Should I be using for this scenario?

    - by Dynamic
I currently have a sharepoint 2010 site for which NTLM windows authentication has been enabled (by default it is against Active Directory I believe). I'd need to change this so that I have 1 custom login page which accepts username/password/domain and validates those information against the active directory, then if that was valid, I'll write logic to logon to another webservice which is located on another server and returns me a unique sessionId that I can store (as a cookie) for further use. Please could you advise which authentication mode I can use to create this custom login page? should that be FBA against AD? not sure how that works. Thanks in advance.

  • PreparedStatement and 'null' value in WHERE clause

    - by bond
I am using PrepareStatement and BatchUpdate for executimg a UPDATE query. In for loop I create a Batch. At end of loop I execute batch. Above logic works fine if SQL query used in PrepareStatement does not have null values in WHERE claues. Update Statement fails if there is null value in WHERE clasue. My code looks something like this, connection = getConnection(); PreparedStatement ps = connection.prepareStatement("UPDATE TEST_TABLE SET Col1 = true WHERE Col2 = ? AND Col3 = ?") for (Data aa : InComingData) { if(null == aa.getCol2()) { ps.setNull(1, java.sql.Types.INTEGER); } else { ps.setInteger(1,aa.getCol2()) } if(null == aa.getCol3()) { ps.setNull(2, java.sql.Types.INTEGER); } else { ps.setInteger(2,aa.getCol3()) } ps.addBatch(); } ps.executeBatch(); connection.commit(); Any help would be appreciated.

  • Match a word with similar words using Solr?

    - by fayer
I want to search for threads in my mysql database with Solr. But i want it to not just search the thread words, but for similar words. Eg. if a thread title is "dog for sale" and if the user searches for dogs the title will be in the result. and also if a user searches for "mac os x" the word "snow leopard" will appear. and the ability to link words the application thinks is related eg. house and apartment. how is this kind of logic done? i know that you can with solr look up words in a dictionary file you create/add, so solr will look for dogs and see what related words there are (eg. dog). but where do you find such a dictionary? i have no idea about this kind of implementation. please point me into right direction. thanks

  • PHP attempting to make JavaScript friendly timestamp, failing, returns 1.34899651119E+12

    - by chris
Well, not sure whats going on. I have been trying to follow by examples I have found here on stack, on google, even an answer someone gave me a week+ ago, which unfortunately I wasn't able to test until today. Anyway I am attempting to generate a javascript friendly timestamp via php so I can get my times synced up. The best logic I could find overall was something dealing with microtime. However that doesn't seem to work as expected, not even in the slightest. Right now I am using microtime(true)*1000; and am getting 1.34899651119E+12 for the result. Did I some how manage to mess up that one tiny line of code, Im not sure.

  • Zend Framework 2 without MVC

    - by Luke
I'm currently using Zend Framework 2 for all my web tier development using the MVC module that's shipped with the framework. However, I want to implement my business logic in a separate layer, call it the business tier which is a non HTTP layer and expose it through AMQP, and I'd like to reuse my knowledge of PHP for implementing this. Since there is a lot of "stuff" that I need in this business layer such as configuration, a service manager, database access, etc, etc, I'd like to use all the goodies shipped with Zend Framework 2 for this. Are there any examples or tutorials out there on how to build a Zend Framework 2 application that is not build for the web tier and doesn't require the MVC module?

  • Why would I want to have a non-standard attribute?

    - by dontWatchMyProfile
The documentation on Core Data entities says: You might implement a custom class, for example, to provide custom accessor or validation methods, to use non-standard attributes, to specify dependent keys, to calculate derived values, or to implement any other custom logic. I stumbled over the non-standard attributes claim. It's just a guess: If my attribute is anything other than NSString, NSNumber or NSDate I will want to have a non-standard Attribute with special setter and getter methods? So, for example, if I wanted to store an image, this would be a non-standard Attribute with type NSData and a special method, say -(void)setImageWithFileURL:(NSURL*)url which then pulls the image data from the file, puts in in an NSData and assigns it to core data? Or did I get that wrong?

  • Is it bad practice to select upstream servers based upon the HTTP method?

    - by PartlyCloudy
I'm wondering if it is bad practice to have a reverse proxy that selects the upstream server depending on the HTTP method used? The background is that I have an abitrary web server that handles POST requests with some logic behind. The same resources also contain static content, that can be retrieved using GET. After some benchmarking I realized that nginx would handle the static content way faster than my abitrary web server doing this. I checked the option to forward incoming requests internally using nginx, which is feasible. But this would lead to the fact that different servers would serve a distinct resource, only depending on issuing a GET or POST, including different header fields.

  • How do I fix this warning in my mx:request tag?

    - by invertedSpear
I'm running an HTTPService with the following request: <mx:request xmlns=""> <view>{myViewStack.selectedChild.name}</view> </mx:request> The idea being to pass which child is selected on the viewstack to the php page, and then get that back so I can run some logic based on which child of the viewstack was selected at the time. Everything seems to work, but I get the following warning: Data binding will not be able to detect assignments to "name". This doesn't seem to be causing any trouble, but I know warnings usually mean that I am not following the best practice. How can I fix this? I don't really need this item to be bound, because the name will never change at runtime, but I don't know how else to include it in the request.

  • Does Visual Studio 2010 support something like Eclipse's "Generate delegate methods"?

    - by devoured elysium
Eclipse allows us to define a class as: interface MyInterface { void methodA(); int methodB(); } class A : MyInterface { MyInterface myInterface; } and then with this "Generate delegate methods", it will implement all needed methods for the interface, redirecting their logic to myInterface's methods: class A : MyInterface { MyInterface myInterface; public void methodA() { myInterface.methodA(); } public int methodB() { return myInterface.methodB(); } } Is it possible to accomplish the same with VS2010? And with R#? Thanks

  • JS variable scope missunderstanding

    - by meo
I have a little problem: slideHelpers.total = 4 for (i=1;i <= slideHelpers.total; i++) { $('<a href="#">' + i + '</a>').bind('click', function(){ alert('go to the ' + i + ' slide')}).appendTo('.slideaccess') } the alert gives out 5 what is logic, because when the function click triggers i is actually 5. But i would like to have the same i as in my <a> tag. What is the best way to handle this? I could put i in the data() of the <a> tag for example but i am sure there is a easier way.

  • How does including a .csv work in an enum?

    - by Tommy
enum ID // IDs { ID_HEADER = 0, // ID 0 = headers #include "DATA.CSV" ID_LIMIT }; I inherited some code here..... Looking at "DATA.CSV" I see all the ID's used to populate the enum in column B, along with other data. My question: How does the enum know that it is using "column B" to retrieve it's members? There must be some other logic in the application yet I don't see it. What else should I look for? Thanks.

  • C#, get all collection properties from an object

    - by Eatdoku
    Hi, I have a class with 3 List collections like the following. I am trying to have a logic which will iterate through the object's "collection" properties and do some operation using the data stored in those collections. I am just wondering if there is an easy way of doing it using foreach. thanks public class SampleChartData { public List<Point> Series1 { get; set; } public List<Point> Series2 { get; set; } public List<Point> Series3 { get; set; } public SampleChartData() { Series1 = new List<Point>(); Series2 = new List<Point>(); Series3 = new List<Point>(); } }

  • SQL Server. Stored procedure to get the biweekly periods

    - by Yada
I'm currently trying to write a stored procedure that can compute the biweekly periods when a date is passed in as a parameter. The business logic: the first Monday of the year is first day of the biweekly period. For example in 2010: period period_start period_end 1 2010-01-04 2010-01-17 2 2010-01-18 2010-01-31 3 2010-02-01 2010-02-14 .... 26 2010-12-20 2011-01-02 Passing today's date of 2010-12-31 will return 26, 2010-12-20 and 2011-01-02. I'm not too strong in T-SQL. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

  • Unique number identifier generation

    - by xwrs
I have to create logic for generation unique number identifier for records in database. id, generated in database is a separate column. At this moment, when user calls "create record" action, I save new record, get its database id, generate record number using this id, then put it to the edit form. Using this way means that all entity fields should be nullable to save record to database. I don't like this way. I know that should be better way. Is there a better practice to generate unique number identifier? What is possibility of generating non-unique random numbers? Thank you

  • SQL - Break a start/end time into 15 minute records

    - by Chu
I've got a record set that consists of a start and end time in two separate fields: id - Int startTime - DateTime endTime - DateTime I'd like to find a way to query a record and return it as X records based on the number of 15 minute intervals found between the start and end times. For example, let's say I have a record like this: id, StartTime, EndTime 1, 1/1/2010 8:28 AM, 1/1/2010 8:47 AM I would return 3 records, the first would represent the 8:15 interval, #2 for the 8:30 interval and then a 3rd for the 8:45 interval. I realize this could be done using logic in an sproc, but we are trying to remain db neutral as we support multiple database engines.

  • Preventing decompilation of C# application

    - by Kalpak
Hi, We are planning to develop a client server application using C# and MySQL. We plan to sell the product on the shelf like any other software utility. We are worried about the decompilation of our product which does have some sort of edge over our competitors in terms of usability and bundled functionality. How can we prevent our software from decompilation, so the business logic of the product remains intact? We have heard about Reflector and other decompilers which makes our code very much vulnerable for copying. Our customer base is not Corporates by medical practitioners who themselves may not do it but our competitors may want to copy/disable licensing so value of our software goes down. Any suggestion to prevent this is most welcome. regards.. Obelisk

  • Why I am forced to write the (Data Constructor) name with first letter in small case?

Why I am forced to write "liOfLi" in place of "LiOfLi"? Please guide. code in baby.hs LiOfLi = [ [1,3,4,5,6,8], [ 12, 13, 15, 16, 19, 20], [23, 24, 25, 45, 56] ] ghci response: ghci :l baby [1 of 1] Compiling Main ( baby.hs, interpreted ) Failed, modules loaded: none. ghci baby.hs:29:1: Not in scope: data constructor `LiOfLi' When changing the initial letter to smaller case code in baby.hs liOfLi = [ [1,3,4,5,6,8], [ 12, 13, 15, 16, 19, 20], [23, 24, 25, 45, 56] ] ghci response: ghci :l baby [1 of 1] Compiling Main ( baby.hs, interpreted ) Ok, modules loaded: Main. Following are the SO questions I refered but I failed to understand the rules/ logic and get the answer for (my) abovementioned question. Why does Haskell force data constructor's first letter to be upper case? the variable names need to be lowercase. • Where should we manage session objects in an ASP.NET application?

    - by Kumar
I am developing a 3-tired ASP.NET C# web application and was wondering where should the sessions be managed. I have a SessionManager class as follows: public sealed class SessionManager { private const string USER = "User"; private SessionManager() { } public static SessionManager Instance { get { return _instance; } } public User User { get { return HttpContext.Current.Session[USER] as User; } set { HttpContext.Current.Session[USER] = value; } } } Now should the session information be managed in the Business Logic Layer or should it be managed in the Presentation Layer?

  • Render Order via HTML or CSS

    - by Bullines
What is the best practice is in the case of altering the render order of elements on a webpage. For example, I have two DIVs that are to be displayed on a page: <div id="appleSection"> <!-- Apple DIVs, content, form elements, etc --> </div> <div id="orangeSection"> <!-- Orange DIVs, content, form elements, etc --> </div> Depending on user selection (perhaps by country or something), the order which the DIVs are presented to the user can differ. Certain conditions present appleSection above orangeSection, and for other conditions, their order is reversed. If the core logic of the page is the same regardless, is it a best practice to determine order on the server-side (perhaps via two pages that differ in the order of the DIVs), or is it more appropriate to have just a single page and use CSS to control whether appleSection is above orangeSection or vice versa?

  • Rails 3 ActiveRecord group_by sort by count

    - by Craig
The following view code generates a series of links with totals (as expected): <% @jobs.group_by(&:employer_name).sort.each do |employer, jobs| %> <%= link_to employer, jobs_path() %> <%= "(#{jobs.length})" %> <% end %> However, when I refactor the view's code and move the logic to a helper, the code doesn't work as expect. view: <%= employer_filter(@jobs_clone) %> helper: def employer_filter(jobs) jobs.group_by(&:employer_name).sort.each do |employer, jobs| link_to employer, jobs_path() end end The following output is generated: <Job:0x10342e628>#<Job:0x10342e588>#<Job:0x10342e2e0>Employer A#<Job:0x10342e1c8>Employer B#<Job:0x10342e0d8>Employer C#<Job:0x10342ded0>Employer D# What am I not understanding? At first blush, the code seems to be equivalent.
