• Juju bootstrap, install

  I would like to test MAAS + JUJU + OpenStack (I followed the documentation on maas.ubuntu.org) I already made a test environment: 1 MAAS server wich will also run JuJu 10 KVM servers for Openstack The KVM servers are already in "ready" state in MAAS. I would like to set up JuJu but i could not which is drives me crazy. My environments.yaml: environments: maassrv: type: maas maas-server: 'http://${192.168.1.116}/MAAS/' maas-oauth: 'my-key-from-maas' authorized-keys-path: /root/.ssh/id_rsa.pub admin-secret: 1234 default-series: trusty When I run "juju status -e maassrv` : ERROR Unable to connect to environment "maassrv". Please check your credentials or use 'juju bootstrap' to create a new environment. Error details: environment "maassrv" not found OK, it's right, so i should run juju bootstrap -e maassrv: ERROR environment "maassrv" not found When i run the command without the -e switch: error: no environment specified So, I am stuck here, I already added the required ssh keys to maas too. I ran out of ideas why it isn't working.

  I'm making a 3D camera scene in Flash, draw using drawTriangles() and rotated and translated using a Matrix3D. I've got the camera to look after a specific point, but only on the Y-axis, using the x and z coordinates, here is my code so far: var dx:Number = camera.x - lookAt.x; var dy:Number = camera.y - lookAt.y; var dz:Number = camera.z - lookAt.z; camera.rotationY = Math.atan2(dz, dx) * (180 / Math.PI) + 270; so no matter the x or z position, the point is always on the mid of the screen, IF and only if y matches with the camera. So what I need is to calculate the rotationX (which are measured in degrees not radians), and I was wondering how I would do this?

• SEO - why did my google search rank drop?

  My nutrition shop websites for tampa and brandon were coming up on page one of google search results and now they have dissappeared. The 2 websites serve different markets although they are close geographically and have the same products, keywords, and layouts. Brandon, FL is considered a suburb of Tampa, FL and could be grouped into the Tampa Bay area. There's also a mirror site nutrition shop setup for orlando. Is the google search ranking drop because: 1) from a flash banner recently added on the front page 2) is the site just being re-indexed on all search engines b/c of new content? 3) is it seen as duplicate content as there are separate websites for the cities of Tampa and Brandon but with the same content? What can be done to fix this? Thanks!

• After installing Ubuntu using WUBI, starting Ubuntu does not get further than the GRUB prompt

  I'm trying to install Ubuntu. I put Ubuntu on a USB flash drive using the WUBI installer. I get to where it finishes the install and it wants me to reboot. But when I reboot and then select Ubuntu, I get a black screen that says GNU GRUB version 1.99-21ubuntu3 Minimal BASH-like editing is supported. for the first word. TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device or file completions. Grub> When I type in some commands it says "Kernel not specified" and the rest of the commands give no feed back what so ever. What did i do wrong? Can anyone point me in the right direction. Please help this is very frustrating any help would be useful.

• External drive hanging, load average through the roof

  I have an external USB drive, and I run an hourly rsync to it as a backup. This has been working fine for years. This weekend, I got two new 2Tb internal drives, and decided it was time to re-install Ubuntu from scratch to clear out all the old cruft. About once a day since the re-install, the backup script hangs hard, usually in the "rm -rf" I do before the rsync. By the time I notice the problem, my load average is in the stratosphere and climbing fast (one time, it was over 150), but anything that doesn't touch the drive seems to be running fine. One thing that I find suspicious is that something, I don't know what, is doing a "smartctl" and a "hdparm" command on the USB drive. My partitions are: C: Windows8 90GB NTFS D: Blank 25GB FAT32 E: Entertainment 117GB NTFS F: Other 117GB NTFS G: Software 117GB NTFS Now, I've made flash drive for Ubuntu 13.04 and want to install on D: I've tried a lot to install on that partition but every time I got error of No mount point selected. But actually I've selected / as mount point. So please help me to solve this problem. and also suggest me what to do for /home. Note: I want to access windows 8 as my main operating system.

  As my laptop hard rive was knackered i was adivsed to use ubuntu, it set-up perfectly. but i tried downloading google chrome and flash player because i couldnt watch any videos and now FIREFOX has become unresponsive. It says ' firefox is already running but it is not responding. To open a new window, you must firstr close the exisitng firefox process or restart your system I tried restarting but hasn't worked. • A good interpreted language for a small embedded project

  I have an mbed which has a small ARM Cortex M3 on it. Basically, my effective resources for the project are ~25Kb of RAM and ~400Kb of Flash. For I/O I'll have a PS/2 keyboard, a VGA framebuffer(with character output), and an SD card for saving/loading programs(up to a couple of Mb maybe) The reason I ask this here is because I'm trying to figure out what programming language to implement on the thing. I'm looking for an interpreted language that's easy for me to implement, and won't break the bank on my resources. I also intend for this to be at least possible to write on th device itself, though the editor can be interpreted(yay bootstrapping) Anyway, I've looked at a few simple languages. Some nice candidates: Forth BASIC Scheme? Has anyone done something like this or know of any languages that can fit this bill or have comments about my three candidates so far?

• Dual Partion windows not working ?

  I originally set up Ubuntu "along side" widows(Vista) and realized it was done though wubi after I tried to set up a VB and didn't have enough room. I then repartitioned the HD and did a stand alone Ubuntu install. The problem is when I try to boot windows it starts to load then does a flash and heads back to the start up boot page with ubuntu and windows on the boot screen. Ubuntu loads fine, everytime but windows goes back. Here is the boot script info. http://paste.ubuntu.com/6405545/ Any help would be appreciated. I want to leave windows behind but still need it for some things on this machine.

• sound card is not working

  I've installed Ubuntu 11.4 on my dell xps m2010 using wubi. Then booted up and could not connect to the Internet using 3three huawei e122 usb mobile broadband (I would like this to work also). I've managed to connect through a wireless network, I went to my favorite sites and was told I needed to install adobe flash player.This what I did players run and picture is good. But there is no sound! Then I've tried to play songs in Banshee, but no sound. I have checked everything in sound preferences including test speaker, there is sound. I have sigmatel sound card. Thanks

• OmniGraffle for iPad Now Supports VGA Output

  I have (surprisingly) gotten a lot of comments over the last post about using OmniGraffle as an interactive EA tool.  The news flash/update is that it now supports VGA output.  I had sent a note to the developers and they responded that this was a highly sought after feature…well, they delivered. I have tried it informally and it works, thought there is a little lag between the drawing on the screen and the output, but it is not terrible.
