• Error with using "dynamic" keyword in Silverlight app

  I get the following error: "One or more types required to compile a dynamic expression cannot be found. Are you missing references to Microsoft.CSharp.dll and System.Core.dll" I do have System.Core.dll, do have I to find Microsoft.CSharp somewhere? It wasn't part of the project and it isn't in the references list.

  I'm familiar with WideCharToMultiByte and MultiByteToWideChar conversions and could use these to do something like: UTF8 - UTF16 - 1252 I know that iconv will do what I need, but does anybody know of any MS libs that will allow this in a single call? I should probably just pull in the iconv library, but am feeling lazy. Thanks

  I want to do a database-side string concatenation in a Rails query, and do it in database-independent way. SQL-92 specifies double-bar (||) as the concatenation operator. Unfortunately it looks like MS SQL Server doesn't support it; it uses + instead. I'm guessing that Rails' SQL grammar abstraction has solved the db-specific operator problem already. If it does exist, how do I use it?

• preg_replace, exact opposite of a preg_match

  I need to do a preg_replace for the exact opposite of this preg_match regular expression: preg_match('#^(\w+/){0,2}\w+\.\w+$#', $string); So I need to replace all strings that are not valid with an empty string - '' So it needs to remove the first / and last / if found, and all non-valid characters, that is the only valid characters are A-Z, a-z, 0-9, _, ., and / (if it's not the first or last characters of the string). How can I accomplish this with the preg_replace? Thanks :)

Can you tell if the memory occupied by list stored in invertedIndex is released as well? Or does java allocate new memory for list when assigning list = invertedIndex.get( 1 );

I'm doing ListCollectionView view = (ListCollectionView)CollectionViewSource.GetDefaultView(TheList.ItemsSource); as recommended there and in several other places, but for some reason I'm getting "Unable to cast object of type 'MS.Internal.Data.EnumerableCollectionView' to type 'System.Windows.Data.ListCollectionView'." (TheList is of type ListView). What could be causing this?

  I am using msdb..sp_help_job to access whether a job succeeded or failed and can retrieve a general error. But, I want to access the specific error for the step that failed. I cannot seem to find it.   Hello I've got supervisor's status output, looking like this. frontend RUNNING pid 16652, uptime 2:11:17 nginx RUNNING pid 16651, uptime 2:11:17 redis RUNNING pid 16607, uptime 2:11:32 I need to extract nginx's PID. I've done it via grep -P command, but on remote machine grep is build without perl regular expression support. Looks like sed or awk is exactly what I need, but I don't familiar with them. Please help me to find a way how to do it, thanks in advance.

  Having a table with 60 columns, and 200 rows. Altering a BIT column from NULL to NOT NULL, now has a running execution time of over 3 hours. Why is this taking so long? This is the query that I'm execution: ALTER TABLE tbl ALTER COLUMN col BIT NOT NULL Is there a faster way to do it, besides creating a new column, updating it with values from the old column, then dropping the old column and renaming the new one? This is on MS SQL Server 2005.
