  • Can the public ssh key from my local machine be used to access two different users on a remote serve

    I have an new ubuntu (hardy 8.04) server, it has two users, User1 and User2. User1 is listed in sudoers. I appended my public ssh key (my local machine's public key local/Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa.pub) to authorized_keys in remote_server/home/user1/.ssh/authorized_keys, changed the permissions on user1/.ssh/ to 700 and user1/.ssh/authorized_keys to 600 and both file and folder are owned my User1. Then added I User1 to sshd_config (AllowUsers User1). This works and I can login into User1 debug1: Offering public key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa debug1: Server accepts key: pkalg ssh-rsa blen 277 debug1: Authentication succeeded (publickey). debug1: channel 0: new [client-session] debug1: Entering interactive session. Last login: Mon Mar 15 09:51:01 2010 from ..*.* I then copied the authorized_keys file remote_server/home/user1/.ssh/authorized_keys to remote_server/home/user2/.shh/authorized_keys and changed the permissions and ownership and added User2 to AllowUsers in sshd_config (AllowUsers User1 User2). Now when I try to login to User2 it will not authenticate the same public key. debug1: Offering public key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa debug1: Authentications that can continue: publickey debug1: Trying private key: /Users/nick/.ssh/identity debug1: Trying private key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_dsa debug1: No more authentication methods to try.   • gVim doesn't recognize the Meta (Alt) Key in an imap after changing the encoding

    In order to edit html files, I have the following three imaps in a file that I source for filetype html: imap <buffer> <M-[> &uuml; imap <buffer> <M-;> &ouml; imap <buffer> <M-'> &auml; This works fine until I change the encoding of the html file with set enc=utf-8. Now, pressing Alt-[ for example gives me a Û. Interestingly, after sourcing the same file again, it expands the imaps correctly. This doesn't really make sense to me. So, why is this and how can I have a more constistent environment regarding imap and utf-8. This is occuring with gVim 7.1 for Windows.

    Given a simple class: public class Person { public string FirstName; public string LastName; public string GetFullName() { return FirstName + LastName; } } The user of this class will populate a List<Person> object by reading an Xml file or some other data source. Should the logic for populating the List be in the Person class or should it just remain in the calling class? In other words, should there be a public List<Persons> GetPersons() method in the Person class or in the calling class? Or should the data accessor be in another class altogether? I know this is a rather simplistic question but I'm just curious how others typically do it.

  • Linq to Entities and POCO foreign key relations mapping (1 to 0..1) problem

    For my ASP.NET MVC 2 application I use Entity Framework 1.0 as my data access layer (repository). But I decided I want to return POCO. For the first time I have encountered a problem when I wanted to get a list of Brands with their optional logos. Here's what I did: public IQueryable<Model.Products.Brand> GetAll() { IQueryable<Model.Products.Brand> brands = from b in EntitiesCtx.Brands.Include("Logo") select new Model.Products.Brand() { BrandId = b.BrandId, Name = b.Name, Description = b.Description, IsActive = b.IsActive, Logo = /*b.Logo != null ? */new Model.Cms.Image() { ImageId = b.Logo.ImageId, Alt = b.Logo.Alt, Url = b.Logo.Url }/* : null*/ }; return brands; } You can see in the comments what I would like to achieve. It worked fine whenever a Brand had a Logo otherwise it through an exception that you can assign null to the non-nullable type int (for Id). My workaround was to use nullable in the POCO class but that's not natural - then I have to check not only if Logo is null in my Service layer or Controllers and Views but mostly for Logo.ImageId.HasValue. It's not justified to have a non null Logo property if the id is null. Can anyone think of a better solution?

    Data Layer I have an Order class as an entity. This Order entity is my model object. Order can be different types, let it be A B C D Also Order class may have common properties like Name, Time of creation, etc. Also based on the order type there are different fields that are not common. View Layer The view contains the following Main Menu ListView The Main Menu contains the drop down menu button which is used to create the order based on the type selected from the drop down. The drop down contains the Order types ( A ,B , C and D). There are different user control based on the order type. Like for example if user chooses to create an order of type A then different view with different inputs field is popped up. Hence, there are four user control for each order type. If user selects A option from the drop down then Order of type A is created and vica versa. Now below is the List View that contains the List of orders so far created by the user. To Edit any particular order user may double click the list view row. Based on the order type clicked by the user in the listview, the view of that order type opens in edit mode. For example if user selects an order type A from the list view then view for order type A open in edit mode. Please suggest me interaction model for view model's in the scenario discussed above. Please excume me if the query is very basic, since I am new new to MVVM and WPF ,

I think the solution is giving percentage instead of absolute numbers like 240px to height and width of divs. What do you think ? Do you have another recommendations ? Thanks in advance.   • How do I get the same key bindings in vmware's Window and Mac [closed]

    I have a macbook but sometimes I run Windows in vmware to program in Visual Studio. I have a swedish keyboard, to get the curly brace '{' I press alt(=option)+shift+8 in mac, but to get the same character in vmware/windows I should press alt+7. Obviously, I would like to have the same keyboard layout in mac and windows, how can I make this happen? I have been recommended to use autohotkey on Windows, but I have a problem mapping AltGr shift 8 to a character (i.e. <^!+8:{ does not work) (I state the question in this forum because I think that only programmers can answer it, we are the only ones that use the characters []{} )

  • iPhone SDK - UITabBarConroller and custom design

    Hi I am having a problem with my tab bars at the bottom of the screen. The designer has decided it should be one colour (not black) when inactive and another colour when active. I have worked out how to replace the main colour of the tabbar by subclassing UITabBarController and doing this:- - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; CGRect frame = CGRectMake(0.0, 0, self.view.bounds.size.width, self.view.bounds.size.height); UIView *v = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:frame]; //get percentage values from digitalcolour meter and enter as decimals v.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithRed:.0 green:.706 blue:.863 alpha:1]; [tabBar1 insertSubview:v atIndex:0]; [v release]; } I just can't see how to make the active tabbar be a separate colour when it is selected. I have tried subclassing UITabBarItem but there doesn't seem to be any property for me to set to change the background colour of the tab. They also want to have the icons on the tab bar not be blue and grey and I can't figure out how to do that. In the ViewController for one tab bar item I have put this into viewdidload:- myTabBarItem *tabItem = [[myTabBarItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"listOOO" image:[UIImage imageNamed:@"starcopy.png"] tag:1]; tabItem.customHighlightedImage=[UIImage imageNamed:@"starcopy.png"]; self.tabBarItem=tabItem; [tabItem release]; tabItem=nil; and in my subclass of UITabBarItem I have put this:- -(UIImage *) selectedImage{ return self.customHighlightedImage; } Only I don't see the icon at all. If I put this into the viewDidLoad of my subclass of UITabBarController:- for (UITabBarItem *item in tabBar1.items){ item.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"starcopy.png"]; } Then all my tab bars have the icon but they are blue (and grey when inactive) how would I get them not to become blue but stay their original colour? This class will replace the Model during the development of the page. It will also hold some test data for the user to have the chance to see some results. Once we are happy with the layout on the screen, I will inherit the correct Model class through the Control tag. Can you please advise if this is possible and how to do it?     So it seems like a lot of people are playing the blame game around where I work, and it brings up an interesting question. Knowns: Requirements team writes requirements for product. Developers create their own unit tests out of requirements. Testing team creates their general tests out of requirements and past customer issues. Product released if and only if X% of testcases from Testing team passes Customer response team gets bugs from the field, and lets the testing team know about these issues. Question: If the customer ends up filing a lot of defects, who is to blame? Is it the Testing team for not covering those? Or is it the requirements team for not writing better requirements? And how does one improve upon the system?

    I am trying to populate a dropdown list from a database mapped with Linq 2 SQL, using ASP.NET MVC 2, and keep getting this error. I am so confused because I am declaring a variable with the type IEnumerable<SelectListItem> on the second line, but the error makes me think this is not the case. I feel like this should be very simple, but I am struggling. Any help is appreciated. So far finding the equivalent Cassandra data model has been quite easy, but I've stumbled on the following problem for which I'd appreciate some input: Consider a MySQL table holding millions of entities: CREATE TABLE entities ( id INT AUTO_INCREMENT NOT NULL, entity_information VARCHAR(...), entity_last_updated DATETIME, PRIMARY KEY (id), KEY (entity_last_updated) ); The table is regularly queried for entities that need to be updated: SELECT id FROM entities WHERE entity_last_updated IS NULL OR entity_last_updated < DATE_ADD(NOW(), INTERVAL -7*24 HOUR) ORDER BY entity_last_updated ASC; The entities returned by this queries are then updated using the following query: UPDATE entities SET entity_information = ?, entity_last_updated = NOW() WHERE id = ?; What would be the corresponding Cassandra data model that would allow me to store the given information and effectively query the entities table for entities that need to be updated (that is: entities that have not been updated in the last seven days)?

  • NHibernate Legacy Database Mappings Impossible?

    I'm hoping someone can help me with mapping a legacy database. The problem I'm describing here has plagued others, yet I was unable to find a real good solution around the web. DISCLAIMER: this is a legacy DB. I have no control over the composite keys. They suck and can't be changed no matter much you tell me they suck. I have 2 tables, both with composite keys. One of the keys from one table is used as part of the key to get a collection from the other table. In short, the keys don't fully match between the table. ClassB is used everywhere I would like to avoid adding properties for the sake of this mapping if possible. public class ClassA { //[PK] public string SsoUid; //[PK] public string PolicyNumber; public IList<ClassB> Others; //more properties.... } public class ClassB { //[PK] public string PolicyNumber; //[PK] public string PolicyDateTime; //more properties } I want to get an instance of ClassA and get all ClassB rows that match PolicyNumber. I am trying to get something going with a one-to-many, but I realize that this may technically be a many-to-many that I am just treating as one-to-many. I've tried using an association class but didn't get far enough to see if it works. I'm new to these more complex mappings and am looking for advice. I'm open to pretty much any ideas. Thanks, Corey

    Hi, Currently, i'm using the method "VkKeyScan" in the win32 api to convert a character to its virtual keycode. But the problem that this seems to have is that, when i pass small alphabets, it works fine whereas when i pass in a capital alphabet, it doesnt return the appropriate keycode and similarly with special characters like "(" or "}" .. How do i do this? Is there anyway for me to directly convert a string to its virtual equivalent without considering whether it contains capitalized or special characters? Thanks
