• Getting the username in Twitter using OAuth 0.1.1 Grails plugin

• Admob ads will not display when placed inside a tabview

  I've been trying to get my ads to display in this type of layout. Tabs - LinearLayout - ListView - header. The header is set via addHeaderView and is displaying normally. If I were to move the ads anywhere else they display normally (so its not a setup issue). Using ads in the header of a listview works fine in my other projects. So this seems to be a very specific problem, the ads simply refuse to display when placed in the header of a listview inside a tabhost. My logs show no activity from admob at all. There is either a bug here or limitation of the sdk. Does anyone have any experience or insight into this issue? EDIT I found the solution. It actually had to do with padding that was in the root of my Tabview. For more checkout my answer here

• Django Caught an exception while rendering: No module named registration

  I seem to have run into a bit of an issue. I am busy creating an app, and over the last few weeks setup my server to use Git, mod_wsgi to host this app. Since deploying it, everything seems to be running smoothly however, I had to go through all my files and insert the absolute url of the project to make sure it works fine. on my local machine from registration.models import UserRegistration on server from myapp.registration.models import UserRegistration Am I doing something wrong? And this has also caused an issue for me where I cannot access my django admin interface. All i get is this: Caught an exception while rendering: No module named registration Exception Value: Caught an exception while rendering: No module named registration As far as I am concerned my app has all the relevant urls, but it does not seem to work. • Core Plot on iPad Runs with Debugger, not Standalone

  Hey guys, Thanks to Ole Begemann, I spent yesterday digging around in Core Plot to explore adding graphing to an iPad application that I've been working on. I was fairly satisfied with it, and wanted to show it off to a friend of mine - so I stopped the debugger, took the device off the dock, handed it over to my friend and pushed the icon. Lo, it started and then immediately crashed. I figured that it was using the release profile, and on a whim went ahead and compiled and ran (through the debugger) under the release profile instead of the debug. As expected, it crashed right away with EXC_BAD_ACCESS. I have added the relative path to the core plot to Release configuration and -all_load and -ObjC to the "other" linker flags - just like in the debugger profile and googled all around. IT seems that most people with this issue have forgotten to add the linker flags. Does anyone have any suggestions for next steps in figuring out this issue?

• Can't resolve "UnauthorizedAccessException" with MVC 2 application running under IIS7

  We use MVC controllers that access System.File.IO in our application and they work fine in localhost (IIS 6.0-based Cassini). Deploying to IIS7, we have problems getting the controllers to work because they throw UnauthorizedAccessExceptions. We have done the following to try to resolve the issue: - Set NETWORK SERVICE and IUSR accounts to have permission on the files and folders in question - Ensured the App Pool is running under NETWORK SERVICE and loading the user profile - Application is running under full trust - We tried adding impersonation to web.config and giving NETWORK SERVICE write permissions Now, we alternate between getting UnauthorizedAccessException and an IIS7 404 page that suggests the routes are being ignored completely (for example we serve "/favicon.ico" via a controller when the physical file actually lives at /content/images/favicon.ico). We used ProcessMonitor to try to track down the issue but weren't successful.

Suposing I have a Windows Form with 3 radio buttons to depict some "Mode" options as - Auto Manual Import How can I use boolean properties on Data/Domain Objects to DataBind to these buttons? I have tried many ways but to no avail. For example I would like to code like - rbtnAutoMode.DataBindings.Add("Text", myBusinessObject, "IsAutoMode"); rbtnManualMode.DataBindings.Add("Text", myBusinessObject, "IsManualMode"); rbtnImportMode.DataBindings.Add("Text", myBusinessObject, "IsImportMode"); There should be a fourth property like "SelectedMode" on the data/domain object which at the end should depict a single value like "SelectedMode = Auto". I am trying to update this property when any of the "IsAutoMode", "IsManualMode" or "IsImportMode" is changed, e.g. through the property setters. I have INotifyPropertyChanged implemented on my data/domain object so, updating any data/domain object property automatically updates my UI controls, that's not an issue. There is a good example of binding 2 radio buttons here - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/344964/how-do-i-use-databinding-with-windows-forms-radio-buttons but I am missing the link while implementing the same with 3 buttons. I am having very erratic behaviors for the Radio Buttons. I hope I was able to explain reasonably. I am actually in a hurry and could not put a detailed code on post, but any help in this regard is appreciated. There is a simple solution to this issue by exposing a method like - public void SetMode(Modes mode) { this._selectedMode = mode; } which could be called from the "CheckedChanged" event of the Radio Buttons from the UI and would perfectly set the "SelectedMode" on the business object, but I need to stretch the limits to verify whether this can be done by DataBinding.

• Visual studio Solution for two versions of a web application

  The issue at hand is this. We have a web application with two different versions, a full application, and a light version of it. In it's most part the light version is a subset of the full version, which means that it uses the same web pages and references the same binaries with the full version. However, some of the pages of the full version should not be deployed with the light version obviously, and some binaries (libraries etc) need not be deployed with the full version. If it were a windows forms application we could attempt to approach the issue at hand with preprocessor directives, unfortunately this is not feasible I think. (please do correct me if I'm wrong with this) Anyway, what would a good approach on this? Thanks

• iPhone UIScrollView / setContentOffset weirdness

  Hi, I have a weird issue with setContentOffset which I don't seem to be able to solve: I'm trying to build an "endless" scroll view, so I'd like to reset the content offset at a certain position. With the code below setContentOffset will be called at x=160px. If I drag the scroll view my log looks like this: offset: 158 offset: 159 offset: 160 offset: 80 offset: 160 What happens is that my setContentOffset (to 80) is performed, when I keep on dragging UIScrollView seem to have forgotten about it and continues at 160. Even weirder: When I set animated:YES it works. Maybe a timing issue? • WPF Textbox "normal" text input

  G'day, I'm not sure if this is a problem relevant to only me or if anyone else has this issue also. None the less, I'll try and describe what is going on here. I have a few textbox's, default style, etc. I set an explicit maxwidth and maxheight to prevent resize when the text exceeds the default width of the textbox. The issue is that the text wraps to the next line, but I only want single line. So I set maxlines to 1 and textwrapping to NoWrap. That's fine. Now the carat and typed text disappears under the edges of the textbox when the width is exceeded and the only way I can get the carat and newly typed text back into view is by pressing the left and right arrows. Coming from MFC and using textboxes all the time with HTML, I would have thought the default behaviour would be to have the textbox content scroll with the carat or am I missing something here? • Install Trac on 64bits Windows 7

  I'm configuring a new Developing Server that came with Windows 7 64bits. It must have installed Trac with Subversion integration. I install Subversion with VisualSVN 2.1.1, clients with TortoiseSVN 1.6.7 and AnkhSVN 2.1.7 for Visual Studio 2008 SP1 integration. All works fine! my problem begun when going to Trac installation. I install python 2.6 all fine. Trac hasn't a x64 windows installer, so I installed it manually by compiling it with python console (C:\Python26\python.exe C:/TRAC/setup.py install). After that, I can create TRAC projects normally, the Trac core is working fine. And so the problem begins, lets take a look at the Trac INSTALL file: Requirements To install Trac, the following software packages must be installed: Python, version = 2.3. Subversion, version = 1.0. (= 1.1.xrecommended) Subversion SWIG Python bindings (not PySVN). PySQLite,version 1.x (for SQLite 2.x) or version 2.x (for SQLite 3.x) Clearsilver, version = 0.9.3 (0.9.14 recommended) Python: OK Subverion: OK Subversion SWIG Python bindings (not PySVN): Here I face the first issue, he asks me for 'cd' to the swig directory and run the 'configure' file, and the result is: C:\swigwin-1.3.40> c:\python26\python.exe configure File "configure", line 16 DUALCASE=1; export DUALCASE # for MKS sh ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax PySQLite, version 1.x (for SQLite 2.x) or version 2.x (for SQLite 3.x): Don't need, as Python 2.6 comes with SQLLite Clearsilver, version = 0.9.3 (0.9.14 recommended): Second issue, Clearsilver only has 32bit installer wich does not recognize python installation (as registry keys are in different places from 32 to 64 bits). AND (for making me more happy) This TRAC will run over IIS7, I mustn't install Apache... I'm nearly crazy with this issue... HELP!!!

• C# - Layout problem on Windows XP professional

  I am developing a C# application with .NET Framework 2.0. The problem is, that on my client's PC, the controls get expanded, layout changes (positions of the controls gets changed), sometimes buttons get missed entirely. It happens even on Forms with 2-3 TextBoxes, 2-3 Buttons and some Labels. I tried a lot of investigations. I tried to show a message in the form's resize event. But it doesn't get called. After digging a bit more, it seemed that in Designer.cs file even though ResumeLayout (false) is being called for the form, but this causes the the expansion/disposition of the controls. My Client is using Windows XP professional on his Dell laptop. He is able to reproduce the issue on other laptops with Windows XP professional. But not in other OSes (like Windows XP Home or Windows Vista). In my desktop with Windows XP professional, it is not reproducible. How can this issue be resolved?

• CentOS Client - Unable to Establish iSCSI connection with multiple interfaces on the initiator

  So after upgrading to CentOS 6.2, I am seemingly no longer able to login into my iSCSI targets. I have multiple interfaces on different subnets on the system, and I first thought that it had to do with the fact that I may not be binding correct interfaces, which seems to be the case when looking at netstat, as this is clearly wrong: [root]? netstat -na|grep .90 tcp 0 1 10.10.100.60:42354 10.10.8.90:3260 SYN_SENT tcp 0 1 10.10.100.60:40777 10.10.9.90:3260 SYN_SENT I then went ahead and disabled all but one interface, and so as a result netstat appears to be correct, but the issue with login remains. At this point I am pretty confident that some things changed between CentOS 6.0/6.1 and 6.2. So, if anyone have any thoughts, or ran into this, I would very much like to hear your thoughts. I went a few weeks back and grabbed a snapshot of this system from before upgrading to 6.2. I spun up a new system from the snapshot, and reconfigured interface info and host keys, as well as iSCSI initiator and iscsi interface info to match new MACs. Changed nothing else. Then, I attempted to connect to my targets, and no issues at all. I cannot say that this was unexpected. I then went ahead and compared sysctl settings from both systems and there were differences after the upgrade, but nothing seemingly relevant to iSCSI or IP that could contribute to this. I also noticed that by default now two sessions per connection were enabled after the upgrade, but I changed it back to 1 session in /etc/iscsi/iscsid.conf. On the problematic system we can see that source interface is seemingly wrong, but even when I disable the 10.10.100 interface, problems persist. So, while this may be relevant, I could not validate it for certain. Needless to say, further research is necessary. Something is clearly different between releases. It is quite obscure and I doubt this will happen to anyone else any time soon. It turns out that setting iface.iscsi_ifacename and iface.hwaddress in the interfaces configuration file is not legal. When one manually adds an iscsi target, such as below, all settings from the interface config file are copied into the node config file, that gets created by the below command. Result is parameters iface.iscsi_ifacename and iface.hwaddress together in the same config file. These parameters are seemingly mutually exclusive, which does not exactly make sense, or there is perhaps an oversight in the codepath.   Hey all I am going through the pain stacking process of sorting out someone else code. So I am decided to recreate a new database to sit alongside the old one then to use triggers to transfer data between both tables. Now I have an issue with a it looping IE A trigger on each table to update the other. Once one updates it should update the other but as both tables have triggers it just will loop which will cause an issue. Is their a way to stop this from happening ? • XCode 3.2.1 and Instruments: Useless Stack Trace

  I've reached the stage where it's time to start tracking down memory leaks and, to my dismay, Instruments is giving me very little to go on (other than the fact that I definitely have leaks). My stack trace contains no information other than memory addresses. Since I'm working on a new project and I've transitioned to version 3.2.1 of XCode in tandem, I'm not sure if it's my program configuration or XCode that's causing the problem. I have found one reference to the issue coupled with a post on the dyld leak that seems to be prevalent with the 3.2.1 release. Since I haven't been able to find much on the problem I'm guessing it's something I've created rather than a systematic issue with XCode. If someone has any idea where I might have thrown a wrench in the works, I would love some pointers. Also, if someone could just verify that the stack trace is indeed functioning properly in 3.2.1 that would be useful as well.

• ASP.net getting NT user name returns administrator?

  This doesnt seem to be an issue with windows XP. But I have an end user (my boss!!!) using windows 7 64 bit... In one of our apps we are grabbing the end user user name via: HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name.ToString.Substring (HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name.ToString.IndexOf("\") + 1).ToLower For me it is returning the correct user name for instance "jhermiz". When my boss tries getting into the app, it thinks he is Administrator??? Does anyone know of any alternative or why this might be happening? The reason this is an issue is because I use that user name to pull other information... This is visual studio 2003.

• Perl file test operator help

  This is a really basic issue, but I'm new to perl and cannot work out what the issue is. I'm just trying to isolate the files in a directory, but the -d operator keeps treating all the folder contents as files ... @contents is my array, and when I run this: foreach $item(@contents) { if (-d $item) { next; } print"$item is a file\n"; } I keep getting both folders and files. • Sys undefined for HTTPS url in IE8

  I just discovered a rather peculiar issue in IE8 for a HTTPS link. Every time the page tries to access the HTTPS link, it produces an error. This happens only in IE8 and nothing else. Any idea what's going on? I found some items that said that means the files were not loaded, hence the issue and tried some fixes recommended, but they haven't worked so far. Ever since my team and I upgraded three of our iPhone 4's to iOS 5, The app will hang and show the ActivityIndicator indefinitely. I looked at the server logs and the requests aren't hitting the server. However, if I press the iPhone home button then open the app again, the request will go through and I will receive the data, business as normal. For some reason the requests are never triggered until I reopen the app. Another weird tidbit, the app works in Xcode 4.2 and the iPhone simulator. The app also works on an iPad2 with iOS 5 (the app is iPhone only). Would this be an ASIHTTPRequest issue? Not too sure how to pinpoint the issue since there is no crash and only happens on the phone. Any insight would be much appreciated! Thanks.

• Wordpress main website and mobile website duplicate content.

  Basically a client has asked for his WordPress website to be turned into a mobile website as well. I have never attempted this and know nothing about SEO. However the issue has arisen that this may cause duplicate content issues with Google, and therefore both sites may be dropped in the rankings. I was looking at turning the website into a mobile site via one of the available WordPress mobile website plugins. My question is if duplicate content will be an issue? Has anyone ever tried this? After doing some reading I kind of think it may be possible to tell Google not to index the mobile website, although as I understand it It would be the same set of files. So I am unsure that if I tell it not to index one of them, that it will drop the other one as well. Can anyone with WordPress and SEO knowledge clear this up for me?

• Silverlight clipping a string on mac

  hello, I am facing a very strange issue in my silverlight app on all browsers on mac but it is working perfectly in all windows browsers. in my silverlight app there is a scenario in which I create a very long text string and then pass it to a wcf service which then saves the string in a text file server. the issue is that in mac every time string is clipped after about same location. but it is working perfectly fine in all browsers on windows. btw in silverlight I am using string builder to build the string.

• .net Value Class sorting with IComparable

  I'm running into an issue using a DataGridView bound to a iBindingListView implementation (third party dll) attached to a large collection. There's a certain property in my collection type, named MyDateTime, which is a value class similar to DateTime, but also with some legacy code. This VALUE CLASS implements iComparable, iComparable<T>, and iEquatable<T>. The issue I'm having is this: When I apply a sort to the iBindingListView, or the Automatic Sorting provided by the DGV on the MyDateTimeColumn, it ALWAYS uses the non-generic iComparer, causing hundreds of thousands of unnecessary boxing and unboxing. When I remove the non-generic iComparer, the generic one is still not used, it just does a string compare on the .ToString(). Am I missing something? Why is my generic comparer not bieng called on a sort?

• VS2010 + Resharper 5 performance issues

  I have been using VS2010 with Resharper 5 for several weeks and am having a performance issue. Sometimes when typing, the cursor will lag and the keystrokes won't show instantaneously. Also, scrolling will lag at times. There is a forum thread started and JetBrains has been responding. Several people (including myself) have added their voice and uploaded some performance profiles. If anyone here has has this issue, I would encourage you to visit the thread and let JetBrains know about it. Has anyone had this problem and have a suggestion to restore performance?

• iPhone keyboard doesn't appear when entering a UITextField

  This has to be some kind of newbie blunder that I just can’t see, and I’d be grateful for hints as to what to check or where to look. I've followed an iPhone tutorial that has a UITextField, making sure I connected the IBOutlet for the text field, and it seems to compile properly (no errors or warnings). But when I run it under the simulator, and click in the field, I don’t get the keyboard, so I can’t enter anything into the field. I’ve tried searching the site for similar questions, and all I’ve found is a few questions where the developer is trying to set up some complex UI with multiple controllers, and one that seemed to be the same issue, but the original poster simply said that he solved it by starting a new project and porting the code over. I’d like to find an actual solution, so I don’t have to try randomly rebuilding projects when this issue comes up again. Thanks!
