    I have application based on 3.0 iPhone OS SDK One of tasks is playing video (I use MPMoviePlayerController for this task) Now I try to make universal app working on both 3.0 and 3.2 OS I did all steps described in apple documentation: Upgrade Current Target for iPad; make run-time checking for symbols using [[UIDevice currentDevice] respondsToSelector:@selector(userInterfaceIdiom)] function.   • Using the groupby method in Python, example included

    Trying to work with groupby so that I can group together files that were created on the same day. When I say same day in this case, I mean the dd part in mm/dd/yyyy. So if a file was created on March 1 and April 1, they should be grouped together because the "1" matches. Here's the code I have so far: #!/usr/bin/python import os import datetime from itertools import groupby def created_ymd(fn): ts = os.stat(fn).st_ctime dt = datetime.date.fromtimestamp(ts) return dt.year, dt.month, dt.day def get_files(): files = [] for f in os.listdir(os.getcwd()): if not os.path.isfile(f): continue y,m,d = created_ymd(f) files.append((f, d)) return files files = get_files() for key, group in groupby(files, lambda x: x[1]): for file in group: print "file: %s, date: %s" % (file[0], key) print " " The problem is, I get lots of files that get grouped together based on the day. But then I'll see multiple groups with the same day. Meaning I might have 4 files grouped that were created on the 17th. Later on I'll see another unique set of 2 files that are also created on the 17th. Where am I going wrong?

I've figured out a way to actually upload the file, but I'm not sure how reliable it us.   • virtualenv does not copy standard modules like shutil and urllib2

    When I create a new virtualenv, virtualenv .virtualenvs/my_env, there is only a subset of the standard python modules copied/linked to the new virtualenv. For example, when I do ls -l in .virtualenvs/my_env/lib/python2.6, I see: ... ... os.py -> /usr/lib/python2.6/os.py ... os.pyc -> /usr/lib/python2.6/os.pyc but modules like shutil and urllib2 are not copied even if they are in /usr/lib/python2.6/shutil.py. I am using Ubuntu 9.10. Is this the expected behavior? How can I install modules such as shutil in a virtualenv (I could not find these modules on pypi)?

  • Unable to install flash plugin in Ubuntu 12.04

    Yesterday I upgraded from Ubuntu 11.10 to Ubuntu 12.04 (64 bit). The upgrade went smoothly (far more than I expected). Unfortunately, I cannot seem to install the flash plugin in either Firefox or Chrome. chrome://plugins does not show flash. I tried 19:17farhat ~$ sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done flashplugin-installer is already the newest version. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.     This has been discussed on StackOverflow before - I am trying to find a good way to find the absolute path of a file object, but I need it to be robust to os.chdir(), so cannot use f = file('test') os.path.abspath(f.name) Instead, I was wondering whether the following is a good solution - basically extending the file class so that on opening, the absolute path of the file is saved: class File(file): def __init__(self, filename, *args, **kwargs): self.abspath = os.path.abspath(filename) file.__init__(self, filename, *args, **kwargs) Then one can do f = File('test','rb') os.chdir('some_directory') f.abspath # absolute path can be accessed like this Are there any risks with doing this?

    Hello. I am running a script that walks a directory structure and generates new files in each folder in the directory. I want to delete some of the files right after creation. This is my idea, but it is quite wrong I imagine: directory = os.path.dirname(obj) m = MeshExporterApplication(directory) os.remove(os.path.join(directory,"*.mesh.xml")) How to you put wildcards in a path? I guess not like /home/me/*.txt, but that is what I am trying. Thanks, Gareth

  • How can I get six Xbox controllers to provide input to an HTML5 game?

    I'm creating a six player HTML 5 game designed to be played locally (Red Ice). I've previous set up handling 7 Wiimotes using something along the lines of Joy2Key to map each input for each player to a separate keyboard key, but Wiimotes are pretty hard on the hands for these types of games and not very ergonomic so I thought I'd try and get Xbox controller support. I don't believe that any simple key mapping solution will work due to the nature of the directional stick. My inclination is that this will require a browser plugin and if so I'd prefer to write the plugin for Google Chrome. How do I create a Chrome browser plugin to handle multiple Xbox controllers or is there some other way? Please do not answer this question saying it can't be done, because it absolutely can. EDIT: I don't believe any keymapping/mouse simulating solution will work unless it can reliably distinguish six axis of inputs, one per player.

I need to create a login script which is interoperable on all the client operating systems. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated on how to accomplish this.   • Authenticating GTK app to run with root permissions

    I have a UI app (uses GTK) for Linux that requires to be run as root (it reads and writes /dev/disk*). Instead of requiring the user to open a root shell or use "sudo" manually every time when he launches my app, I wonder if the app can use some OS-provided API to ask the user to relaunch the app with root permissions. (Note: gtk app's can't use "setuid" mode, so that's not an option here.) The advantage here would be an easier workflow: The user could, from his default user account, double click my app from the desktop, and the app then would relaunch itself with root permission after been authenticated by the API/OS. I ask this because OS X offers exactly this: An app can ask the OS to launch an executable with root permissions - the OS (and not the app) then asks the user to input his credentials, verifies them and then launches the target as desired. I wonder if there's something similar for Linux (Ubuntu, e.g.) Update: The app is a remote operated disk repair tool for the unsavvy Linux user, and those Linux noobs won't have much understanding of using sudo or even changing their user's group memberships, especially if their disk just started acting up and they're freaking out. That's why I seek a solution that avoids technicalities like this.

I've bound to it using an object Private Sub LoadAllCampers() Dim Os As List(Of LE.Camper) = Nothing Dim Oc As New LE.Camper_Controller Os = Oc.GetCamperData(0) With Me.dgResults .DataSource = Os End With CamperBindingSource.DataSource = Os End Sub I have a tag setup on the ID property within the Camper class. when i double click on a row in teh datagridview, i do a me.dgResults.tag and it always shows the first rows ID value. If i change the ordering within the class, it will display a different value, but it's always the first value in the datagridview. I'm missing something simple to get this working.. just don't know what it is. Hopefully someone can spare a minute.
