  • Titanium Appcelerator - After enabling cloud services I get UnicodeDecodeError when compiling for Android

    - by Shahar Zrihen
I've got an app that has a UTF8 name (hebrew). I use the platform/android/AndroidManifest.xml file for this. I've managed to narrow it down to the Ti.cloudpush module. only when I enable this module I get the error. I used to be able to compile it to android without any issues but as soon as I enable cloud services I get this error - [ERROR] Exception occured while building Android project: [ERROR] Traceback (most recent call last): [ERROR] File "/Users/Shahar/Library/Application Support/Titanium/mobilesdk/osx/2.1.0.GA/android/builder.py", line 2218, in <module> [ERROR] s.build_and_run(True, None, key, password, alias, output_dir) [ERROR] File "/Users/Shahar/Library/Application Support/Titanium/mobilesdk/osx/2.1.0.GA/android/builder.py", line 1970, in build_and_run [ERROR] self.manifest_changed = self.generate_android_manifest(compiler) [ERROR] File "/Users/Shahar/Library/Application Support/Titanium/mobilesdk/osx/2.1.0.GA/android/builder.py", line 1195, in generate_android_manifest [ERROR] custom_manifest_contents = fill_manifest(custom_manifest_contents) [ERROR] File "/Users/Shahar/Library/Application Support/Titanium/mobilesdk/osx/2.1.0.GA/android/builder.py", line 1122, in fill_manifest [ERROR] manifest_source = manifest_source.replace(ti_permissions,permissions_required_xml) [ERROR] UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xd7 in position 501: ordinal not in range(128) and this is my manifest file with the part that causes the issues. • Refer to similar associated models with a common name

    - by Horace Loeb
I have these models: class Bill < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :calls has_many :text_messages end class Call < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :bill end class TextMessage < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :bill end Now, in my domain calls and text messages are both "the same kind of thing" -- i.e., they're both "bill items". So I'd like some_bill.bill_items to return all calls and text messages associated with that bill. What's the best way to do this?

  • Rails: unable to set any attribute of child model

    - by Bryan Roth
    I'm having a problem instantiating a ListItem object with specified attributes. For some reason all attributes are set to nil even if I specify values. However, if I specify attributes for a List, they retain their values. Attributes for a List retain their values: >> list = List.new(:id => 20, :name => "Test List") => #<List id: 20, name: "Test List"> Attributes for a ListItem don't retain their values: >> list_item = ListItem.new(:id => 17, :list_id => 20, :name => "Test Item") => #<ListItem id: nil, list_id: nil, name: nil> UPDATE #1: I thought the id was the only attribute not retaining its value but realized that setting any attribute for a ListItem gets set to nil. list.rb: class List < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :list_items, :dependent => :destroy accepts_nested_attributes_for :list_items, :reject_if => lambda { |a| a[:name].blank? }, :allow_destroy => true end list_item.rb: class ListItem < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :list validates_presence_of :name end schema.rb ActiveRecord::Schema.define(:version => 20100506144717) do create_table "list_items", :force => true do |t| t.integer "list_id" t.string "name" t.datetime "created_at" t.datetime "updated_at" end create_table "lists", :force => true do |t| t.string "name" t.datetime "created_at" t.datetime "updated_at" end end

  • Problem locating file in a classpath

    - by Gandalf StormCrow
I'm trying to read in file content, ex : public void myMethod(){ FileInputStream fstream = new FileInputStream(fileLocation); // Get the object of DataInputStream DataInputStream in = new DataInputStream(fstream); BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(in)); String strLine; while ((strLine = br.readLine()) != null) { .... .... ..... end while end method And I have at the begining of the class body private String fileLocation; and at the end of a class I have a getter and setter for it. Now I'm trying inject this file location from spring inside bean from this class and I specify the init-method of this class. But I get error cannot find the specified file as if its not on a classpath but it is inside war file? I'm building the project with maven and I put file in src/main/resources This is the error I get when trying to read file : Error: src\main\resources\ids.txt (The system cannot find the path specified) That is when I tried this : FileInputStream fstream = new FileInputStream("src\\main\\resources\\ids.txt"); how to reference the properly from the classpath? EDIT When I edit my code according to @BalusC solution , here is how it looks but I still get null error : ClassLoader classLoader = Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader(); InputStream input = classLoader.getResourceAsStream("src/main/resources/ids.txt"); // Get the object of DataInputStream BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(input)); String strLine; while ((strLine = br.readLine()) != null) { .... .... ..... end while end method

  • best way to parse plain text file with a nested information structure

    - by Beffa
The text file has hundreds of these entries (format is MT940 bank statement) {1:F01AHHBCH110XXX0000000000}{2:I940X N2}{3:{108:XBS/091502}}{4: :20:XBS/091202/0001 :25:5887/507004-50 :28C:140/1 :60F:C0914CHF7789, :61:0912021202D36,80NTRFNONREF//0887-1202-29-941 04392579-0 LUTHY + xxx, ZUR :86:6034?60LUTHY + xxxx, ZUR vom 01.12.09 um 16:28 Karten-Nr. 2232 2579-0 :62F:C091202CHF52,2 :64:C091302CHF52,2 -} This should go into an Array of Hashes like [{"1"=>"F01AHHBCH110XXX0000000000"}, "2"=>"I940X N2", 3 => {108=>"XBS/091502"} etc. } ] I tried it with tree top, but it seemed not to be the right way, because it's more for something you want to do calculations on, and I just want the information. grammar Mt940 rule document part1:string spaces [:|/] spaces part2:document { def eval(env={}) return part1.eval, part2.eval end } / string / '{' spaces document spaces '}' spaces { def eval(env={}) return [document.eval] end } end end I also tried with a regular expression matches = str.scan(/\A[{]?([0-9]+)[:]?([^}]*)[}]?\Z/i) but it's difficult with recursion ... How can I solve this problem?

  • Accessing a class's containing namespace from within a module

    - by SFEley
I'm working on a module that, among other things, will add some generic 'finder' type functionality to the class you mix it into. The problem: for reasons of convenience and aesthetics, I want to include some functionality outside the class, in the same scope as the class itself. For example: class User include MyMagicMixin end # Should automagically enable: User.name('Bob') # Returns first user named Bob Users.name('Bob') # Returns ALL users named Bob User(5) # Returns the user with an ID of 5 Users # Returns all users I can do the functionality within these methods, no problem. And case 1 (User.name('Bob')) is easy. Cases 2–4, however, require being able to create new classes and methods outside User. The Module.included method gives me access to the class, but not to its containing scope. There is no simple "parent" type method that I can see on Class nor Module. (For namespace, I mean, not superclass nor nested modules.) The best way I can think to do this is with some string parsing on the class's #name to break out its namespace, and then turn the string back into a constant. But that seems clumsy, and given that this is Ruby, I feel like there should be a more elegant way. Does anyone have ideas? Or am I just being too clever for my own good?

  • Mongomapper query collection problem

    - by kylemac
When I define the User has_many meetings, it automatically creates a "user_id" key/value pair to relate to the User collections. Except I can't run any mongo_mapper finds using this value, without it returning nil or []. Meeting.first(:user_id = "1234") Meeting.all(:user_id = "1234") Meeting.find(:user_id = "1234") All return nil. Is there another syntax? Basically I can't run a query on the automatically generated associative ObjectId. # Methods class User include MongoMapper::Document key :user_name, String, :required = true key :password, String many :meetings end class Meeting include MongoMapper::Document key :name, String, :required = true key :count, Integer, :default = 1 end # Sinatra get '/add' do user = User.new user.meetings "foobar") #should read: Meeting.new(:name = "foobar") user.save end get '/find' do test = Meeting.first(:user_id = "4b4f9d6d348f82370b000001") #this is the _id of the newly create user p test # WTF! returns [] end

  • Using ReadOnlyCollection preventing me from setting up a bi-directional many-to-many relationship

    - by Kevin Pang
    I'm using NHibernate to persist a many-to-many relation between Users and Networks. I've set up both the User and Network class as follows, exposing each's collections as ReadOnlyCollections to prevent direct access to the underlying lists. I'm trying to make sure that the only way a User can be added to a Network is by using its "JoinNetwork" function. However, I can't seem to figure out how to add the User to the Network's list of users since its collection is readonly. public class User { private ISet<Network> _Networks = new HashedSet<Network>(); public ReadOnlyCollection<Network> Networks { get { return new List<Network>(_Networks).AsReadOnly(); } } public void JoinNetwork(Network network) { _Networks.Add(network); // How do I add the current user to the Network's list of users? } } public class Network { private ISet<User> _Users = new HashedSet<User>(); public ReadOnlyCollection<User> Users { get { return new List<User>(_Users).AsReadOnly(); } } }

  • Allowing user to edit only the page content and some custom fields in wordpress

    - by GaVrA
This is the site: http://www.backpackers.rs Using "User Role Editor" i have user group that can only read and edit published pages so i can have as many users as i want in that user group and they all will have only one published page on their own so they can edit only that page. Now, this is how a user in that user group currently is seeing "edit page" page: http://i39.tinypic.com/rwuesh.png What i need is to disable all those things that have a red border around it + something with custom fields. So i need to disable these things for user in that user group: ability to change status of the page entire "Attributes" block is something that he/she must not see or be able to change ability to change something in "Discussion" block he/she shouldnt see "Page revisions" block i need a way to give those users ability to use only some custom fields. Currently we have 6 custom fields, and i want to give these users ability to only use 4 of those custom fields. i need to disable these users from creating new custom fields. I dont need complete answers for these things, something to get me started is really what i need. I have been reading codex a lot, but still didnt find something to help me with this, so basically any answer is more then appreciated!

  • How to save http referer in rails

    - by TenJack
I'm trying to save the site that a user came from when they sign up. Right now I have a before_filter in my ApplicationController: before_filter :save_referer def save_referer unless is_logged_in? session['referer'] = request.env["HTTP_REFERER"] unless session['referer'] end end Then when a user is created, it checks this session variable and sets it to nil. Sometimes this does not work and I'm worried there might be some unintended things happening with using session like this. Does anyone have a better way? Or some input perhaps? EDIT: This is the logic I am using to save the referer: def create @user = User.new(params[:user]) if @user.save_with(session[:referer]) .... end User def save_with(referer) self.referer = referer unless referer == "null" self.save end Is there any reason why this should not work?

  • How to return a recordset from a function

    - by Scott
I'm building a data access layer in Excel VBA and having trouble returning a recordset. The Execute() function in my class is definitely retrieving a row from the database, but doesn't seem to be returning anything. The following function is contained in a class called DataAccessLayer. The class contains functions Connect and Disconnect which handle opening and closing the connection. Public Function Execute(ByVal sqlQuery as String) As ADODB.recordset Set recordset = New ADODB.recordset Dim recordsAffected As Long ' Make sure we are connected to the database. If Connect Then Set command = New ADODB.command With command .ActiveConnection = connection .CommandText = sqlQuery .CommandType = adCmdText End With ' These seem to be equivalent. 'Set recordset = command.Execute(recordsAffected) recordset.Open command.Execute(recordsAffected) Set Execute = recordset recordset.ActiveConnection = Nothing recordset.Close Set command = Nothing Call Disconnect End If Set recordset = Nothing End Function Here's a public function that I'm using in cell A1 of my spreadsheet for testing. Public Function Scott_Test() Dim Database As New DataAccessLayer 'Dim rs As ADODB.recordset 'Set rs = CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset") Set rs = New ADODB.recordset Set rs = Database.Execute("SELECT item_desc_1 FROM imitmidx_sql WHERE item_no = '11001'") 'rs.Open Database.Execute("SELECT item_desc_1 FROM imitmidx_sql WHERE item_no = '11001'") 'rs.Open ' This never displays. MsgBox rs.EOF If Not rs.EOF Then ' This is displaying #VALUE! in cell A1. Scott_Test = rs!item_desc_1 End If rs.ActiveConnection = Nothing Set rs = Nothing End Function What am I doing wrong?

  • Active Record two belongs_to calls or single table inheritance

    - by ethyreal
In linking a sports event to two teams, at first this seemed to make sense: events - id:integer - integer:home_team_id - integer:away_team_id teams - integer:id - string:name However I am troubled by how I would link that up in the active record model: class Event belongs_to :home_team, :class_name => 'Team', :foreign_key => "home_team_id" belongs_to :away_team, :class_name => 'Team', :foreign_key => "away_team_id" end Is that the best solution? In an answer to a similar question I was pointed to single table inheritance, and then later found polymorphic associations. Neither of which seemed to fit this association. Perhaps I am looking at this wrong, but I see no need to subclass a team into home and away teams since the distinction is only in where the game is played. If I did go with single table inheritance I wouldn't want each team to belong_to an event so would this work? # app/models/event.rb class Event < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :home_team belongs_to :away_team end # app/models/team.rb class Team < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :teams end # app/models/home_team.rb class HomeTeam < Team end # app/models/away_team.rb class AwayTeam < Team end I thought also about a has_many through association but that seems two much as I will only ever need two teams, but those two teams don't belong to any one event. event_teams - integer:event_id - integer:team_id - boolean:is_home Is there a cleaner more semantic way for making these associations in active record? or is one of these solutions the best choice? Thanks

  • Which layer should create DataContext?

    - by Kevin
I have a problem to decide which layer in my system should create DataContext. I have read a book, saying that if do not pass the same DataContext object for all the database updates, it will sometimes get an exception thrown from the DataContext. That's why i initially create new instance of DataContext in business layer, and pass it into data access layer. So that the same datacontext is used for all the updates. But this lead to one design problem, if i wanna change my DAL to Non-LinqToSQL in future, i need to re-write the code in business layer as well. Please give me some advice on this. Thanks. Example code 'Business Layer Public Sub SaveData(name As String) Using ts AS New TransactionScope() Using db As New MyDataContext() DAL.Insert(db,name) DAL.Insert(db,name) End Using ts.Complete() End Using End Sub 'Data Access Layer Public Sub Insert(db as MyDataContext, name As string) db.TableAInsert(name) End Sub

  • RoR associations through or not through?

    - by showFocus
I have four models that are related to one another, the way I have it setup at the moment is I have to select a county, region and country when entering a new city. class Country < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :regions has_many :counties has_many :cities end class Region < ActiveRecord::Base has_one :country has_many :counties has_many :cities end class County < ActiveRecord::Base has_one :country has_one :region has_many :cities end class City < ActiveRecord::Base has_one :country has_one :region has_one :county end Would it be better to use the :through symbol in the association? So I could say the city: has_one :country, :through => :region Not sure if this is correct, I have read how :through works but I'm not sure if this is the best solution. I am a newbie and while I'm not struggling with the syntax and how things work, it would be good to get opinions on best practices and the way things should be done from some rails wizards! Thanks in advance.

  • Can Nokogiri use a SAX parser to parse an HTML fragment?

Is there a way to use a SAX style parser on HTML fragments?

  • Ruby - Call method passing values of array as each parameter

    - by Markus Orreilly
I'm currently stuck on this problem. I've hooked into the method_missing function in a class I've made. When a function is called that doesn't exist, I want to call another function I know exists, passing the args array as all of the parameters to the second function. Does anyone know a way to do this? For example, I'd like to do something like this: class Blah def valid_method(p1, p2, p3, opt=false) puts "p1: #{p1}, p2: #{p2}, p3: #{p3}, opt: #{opt.inspect}" end def method_missing(methodname, *args) if methodname.to_s =~ /_with_opt$/ real_method = methodname.to_s.gsub(/_with_opt$/, '') send(real_method, args) # <-- this is the problem end end end b = Blah.new b.valid_method(1,2,3) # output: p1: 1, p2: 2, p3: 3, opt: false b.valid_method_with_opt(2,3,4) # output: p1: 2, p2: 3, p3: 4, opt: true (Oh, and btw, the above example doesn't work for me)

  • Is it legal to stub the #class method of a Mock object when using RSpec in a Ruby on Rails applicati

    - by MiniQuark
I would like to stub the #class method of a mock object: describe Letter do before(:each) do @john = mock("John") @john.stub!(:id).and_return(5) @john.stub!(:class).and_return(Person) # is this ok? @john.stub!(:name).and_return("John F.") Is this the right way to go? Will there be any bad side effect? Edit: The Letter class looks like this: class Letter < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :to, :polymorphic => true [...] end I wonder whether ActiveRecord gets the :to field's class name with to.class.name or by some other means. Maybe this is what the class_name method is ActiveRecord::Base is for?

For historical reasons, we need to expose string constants in .NET through COM interface. We managed to expose ENUM but we can't find a way to expose string const. We try the following code : <ComClass(ComClass1.ClassId, ComClass1.InterfaceId, ComClass1.EventsId)> _ Public Class ComClass1 #Region "COM GUIDs" ' These GUIDs provide the COM identity for this class ' and its COM interfaces. If you change them, existing ' clients will no longer be able to access the class. The code looks like this: module useful integer, parameter :: N=2 double precision, parameter :: xmin=1, xmax=10, pi=3.1415926535898 double complex :: green(N,N), solution(N), k=(2.0,0.0) contains subroutine y(n1) contains function x(n1) real :: n1, x x=n1*(xmax-xmin)/N end function x end subroutine y end module useful
