I'd very much like to know how this is done: how the LE routine is called. (I'm familiar with the LINKAGE SECTION and with SET ADDRESS.) Since I have no access to an IBM mainframe at the moment - meaning no access to online documentation - some code snippets could enlighten me.

    I have two tables: comments(id(primary key), author, ip(index)) and visitors(id(primary key), date_time, ip(index)) I want to join them like that: SELECT visitors.date_time FROM comments LEFT JOIN visitors ON ( comments.ip = visitors.ip ) WHERE comments.author = 'author' LIMIT 10 It works, but very slow.. In EXPLAIN it shows that it doesn't use the index on the visitors table: id select_type table type possible_keys key key_len ref rows Extra 1 SIMPLE comments ref author author 78 const 9660 Using where 1 SIMPLE visitors ALL NULL NULL NULL NULL 8033 Any ideas?     I have a class foo with an enum template parameter and for some reason it links to two versions of the ctor in the cpp file. enum Enum { bar, baz }; template <Enum version = bar> class foo { public: foo(); }; // CPP File #include "foo.hpp" foo<bar>::foo() { cout << "bar"; } foo<baz>::foo() { cout << "baz"; } I'm using msvc 2008, is this the standard behavior? Are only type template parameters cannot be linked to cpp files?

    Using MySQL, I can do something like select hobbies from peoples_hobbies where person_id = 5; and get: shopping fishing coding but instead I just want 1 row, 1 col: shopping, fishing, coding The reason is that I'm selecting multiple values from multiple tables, and after all the joins I've got a lot more rows than I'd like. I've looked for a function on MySQL Doc and it doesn't look like the CONCAT or CONCAT_WS functions accept result sets, so does anyone here know how to do this?

  • ASP NET forms Authorization: how to reduce duration?

    I've got a web page which is implementing cookie based ASPNET Forms Authentication. Once the user has logged in the page, he can edit some information using a form which is created using a partialview and returned to him as a dialog for editing. The action linked to the partial view is decorated as follows: [HttpGet] [OutputCache(Duration = 0, VaryByParam = "None")] [Authorize(Roles = "test")] public ActionResult changeTripInfo(int tripID, bool ovride=false) { ... } The problem i am experiencing is the latency between the request and the time when the dialog is shown to the user: time ranges between 800 and 1100 ms which is not justified by the complexity of the form. Investigating with Glimpse turns out that the time to process the AuthorizeAttribute (see snip) sums up to at least 650 ms which is troubling me. Looking at the Sql server log, the call which checks the user roles takes, as expected, virtually nothing (duration 0). How can I reduce this time? Am I missing some optimization?

    I'm currently doing some data analysis on population data, so reporting the standard errors in the tables of parameter coefficients just doesn't really make statistical sense. I've done a fair bit of searching and can't find any way to customize the xtable output to remove it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I need that in behalf of speed up the operations in my aplication (one thread could write in row X while another could do the same in row X+n instead of waiting the first to finalize).     Hi, I have a C++ library that should expose some system\ resource calls as callbacks from the linked application. For example: the interfacing application (which uses this library) can send socket management callback functions - send, receive, open, close etc., and the library will use this implementation in stead of the library's implementation. (This way enables the application to manage the sockets by itself, can be useful). This library has to expose also more callbacks, like, for example, a password validation, so I wonder if there is a preferred method to expose the callback sending option in one API. Something like: int AddCallbackFunc (int functionCallbackType, <generic function prototype>, <generic way to pass some additional arguments>) Then within my library I will assign the callback to the appropriate function pointer according to the functionCallbackType parameter. Is there any way to implement it in a generic way which will fit ANY function prototype and ANY additional arguments? Your help will be more than appreciated... Thanks!
