  Okay, so when I run lua, I get something like: lua Lua 5.1.4 Copyright (C) 1994-2008 Lua.org, PUC-Rio > Now, I want a prompt like this, 1) in a GUI application I've written. My GUI application can provide functions like: get_input_from_screen(); and write_this_crap_out_to_screen(); and more functions I can write as necessary I also know how to embed a lua interpreter in my C++ code (short tutorial on the web) What I don't know .. is how to connect the input/output of a lua interpreter with my GUI stuff.   Hello, I wanted to be able to create a effect identical to CSS3 text-shadow Property, making it available to browsers that doesn’t support this CSS3 Property (like IE 7 and 8). And so I found two plugins: Text Shadow and Drop Shadow Effect. I decided to use Text Shadow, because it was released in the end of 2008, and because it was more straightforward. This worked great for IE8. However in IE7 shadows have twice the distance to the text, and links are weird. IE8 image IE7 image I am searching for a fix, or an alternative to this problem.

  I'm working on adding a WCF services layer to my existing .NET application. This layer will be hosted in IIS and will be consumed by a variety of UIs, at least one of which will not use Microsoft technologies. I can make a Web service in WCF that is consumed by my .NET application. However, I'm concerned about things that work in the .NET world but not with other technologies. For example, simply throwing an exception from my WCF service works fine in .NET. But according to this article, one should approach exception handling with fault contracts to ensure compatibility with non-.NET consumers. The author labels this lack of foresight as The Fallacy of the .NET-Only World. Does anyone have any high level suggestions or links to articles that cover interoperability between WCF and non-.NET consumers? I realize I'm potentially working against the YAGNI principle. I'm only really looking to avoid things that will be incredibly difficult to overcome later when the developers of the non-.NET consumer report problems to me.

• Maven best practice for generating artifacts for multiple environments [prod, test, dev] with CI/Hud

  I have a project that need to be deployed into multiple environments (prod, test, dev). The main differences mainly consist in configuration properties/files. My idea was to use profiles and overlays to copy/configure the specialized output. But I'm stuck into if I have to generate multiple artifacts with specialized classifiers (ex: "my-app-1.0-prod.zip/jar", "my-app-1.0-dev.zip/jar") or should I create multiple projects, one project for every environment ?! Should I use maven-assembly-plugin to generate multiple artifacts for every environment ? Anyway, I'll need to generate all them at once so it seams that the profiles does not fit ... still puzzled :( Any hints/examples/links will be more than welcomed. As a side issue, I'm also wondering how to achieve this in a CI Hudson/Bamboo to generate and deploy these generated artifacts for all the environments, to their proper servers (ex: using SCP Hudson plugin) ?

For example, you have the following structure: ext/foo ext/bar In ext/bar/bar.h, you have a #include "foo.h" foo.h and foo.cpp compile to form foo.o, to make life a little more complicated. Finally, it is necessary that foo and bar be separate extensions. How is this managed? I can't figure out how to add ../foo to the search path for bar.h, primarily. Symbolic links seem hack-ish.

  Hi, I need to configure two name-based virtual hosts in my ubuntu pc. If I type the address "http://mypage1" in browser, it should display my first customized html page and if I type the address "http://mypage2", it should display my second customized html page. I tried out the following: 1. installed apache 2. created a file mypage1 inside sites-available with the contents as follows: VirtualHost *:80 ServerName mypage1 ServerAlias http://mypage1 DocumentRoot /var/www/mypage1/html /VirtualHost 3. created a similar file mypage2 inside sites-available 4. ran the commands "a2ensite mypage1" and "a2ensite mypage2" to generate soft links inside sites-enabled. 5. restarted apache using "sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart" After doing the above steps, when I type mypage1 in firefox, I get dns_unresolved_hostname error. Kindly help me how to resolve this problem.

  We're adding a new method 'delete_stuff' to the WidgetsController of a scaffolded app. in routes we added match 'widget/delete_stuff/:id' = 'widgets#delete_stuff' I CAN manually create html (GET) links like <a href="/widget/delete_stuff/<% widget.id %>">My Custom Delete Stuff</a> But that's bad on so many levels (uses GET instead of DELETE, doesn't permit a CONFIRM dialog, isnt DRY, etc) Problem is I can't figure out how to use the url helpers for a custom method... trying to do something like this: <% link_to 'DeleteStuff', @widget, :confirm => 'Are you sure?', :method => :delete %> But that just gets ignored when the html is rendered. I'm clearly missing something fundamental on how to use link_to, any help will be appreciated! Cheers, JP

  Using uCommerce 2, umbraco 4.7. I have a category side nav showing the categories using: <a> <xsl:attribute name="href"> <xsl:value-of select="CommerceLibrary:GetNiceUrlForCategory($catalogueName, @id)"/> </xsl:attribute> <xsl:value-of select="@displayName"/> </a> First of all, when hovering over the links it still shows an old catalogue name, even though I've renamed the catalogue and also hardcoded the catalogue name into: <xsl:variable name="catalogueName" select="'MyCatalogue'"/> When I click on the link generated by GetNiceUrlForCategory I get the standard template that comes with uCommerce started site. I've tried deleting the whole started site, but I just can't get it to link to a template I did for the category. I still don't quite understand how ucommerce knows which template to use for a category link. Soren? :) Cheers, Matt

  I'm loading HTML-formatted content into my app from a web service, then plugging that into a local HTML template that lives within the app. Now, I need to set the UIWebView's BaseURL to point at the remote server so that all relative image links will load. However, I'm also trying to link in some local assets (CSS, JavaScript). Thus far, I have not found any documentation on how to link in local assets without relying on the UIWebView's baseURL. I've tried injecting the absolute file path of my CSS and JS into my HTML template, but it hasn't worked... I don't know if that means that it doesn't work, or if I'm just doing it wrong. Has anyone ever run into this scenario, and if so, how did you address it? Thanks in advance, I really appreciate any tips!

I am inputting todo-tasks for my WebDAV-project into my issue tracker, as I read through the relevant RFC's, and it would be nice to be able to add a link in my issue text directly to the relevant text, instead of just a link to the RFC file with a section number in the issue text, and then I have to use the find function to find it. For instance, a link like this: http://ieft.org/rfc2518.txt#1000 <-- line 1000 http://ieft.org/rfc2518.txt#9.8.3 <-- section 9.8.3 Neither of these two works, since they just post the full text files, so my question is this: Does anyone know of hosted versions of the RFC documents that contains such links?

  I'm attempting to set up navigation withing a Drupal site and am having a bit of trouble. I'm trying to have a series of pages that each have a set number of sub-pages. These pages will need to link to one another. All pages will contain similar content. For instance: Page 1 will have sub-pages a, b, c, d, e, and f all with content related to the topic of page 1 Page 2 will have sub-pages a, b, c, d, e, and f with content related to the topic of page 2 I'd like these links to appear in a horizontal nav bar on each page. Is it possible to accomplish this using the book module? I've also read some information about the taxonomy menu module that sounds promising, but I'm not really sure how that would work. • C++ app fails to initialize (0xc0000005), when using C# dll

  Hi, I have a C# DLL, which I call from a native C++ programm. As I use Qt and /clr compiler option did not work I followed this tutorial for a bridge. So I have a VS2008 project (compiled with /clr), which links to the C# DLL and contains the bridge class and the native class, which exposes interfaces to my C++ programm. Another VS2008 project (no .net stuff) calls the native class (statically linked). I had some issues, but now the programm at least compiles. However, if I try to run this programm, I get a (0xc0000005) error on initialization, when I try to use the native class. As this happens on initialization, I don't even see, which DLLs fail to initialize. All DLLs should be in the right place. Any hints? Thank you.
