  We're using Matlab Simulink for model development (and Real-Time Workshop autocoding) within a team of several developers. We currently use Visual Source Safe (yes, I know its terrible) for version control, using locks to prevent conflicting changes. We'd like to migrate our programme to a different version control system (svn, hg or git), but we're concerned about performing merges and diffs on Simulink .mdl files. Does anybody have useful experience in performing merges on Simulink files?

• Force an update in TortoiseHg?

  I've pulled in some changes to read-only files from a remote repository and I'm trying to update my working area, but I get [Errno 13] ... Access is denied errors when TortoiseHg tries to update the read-only files. I can do the update from the command line using a -f, but I'm wondering if there's a command, option, or setting that will solve this problem in the TortoiseHg GUI.

• iphone segmented control and uitableview

  I have a UITableView with a segmented control at the top. When you tap on the different segments, I want the table to reload with a new different sized array. I have tried everything including [self.tableView reloadData]. When you click on a different tab now, it only changes the cells that are out of view and does not add any more. Any ideas??? Thanks.

• Problem with .NET Settings.Reload() and Settings.Save() Settings not loading

  I have a strange issue that I can't figure out. I have a custom settings class that inherits ApplicationSettingsBase. When I creating the SettingsForm and change AccountList Settings value, the user.config file changes as excepected. My Apply/Ok button for my SettingsForm calls Settings.Save() then Settings.Reload() then closes the form. The problem is that when .Reload() is called, the Settings.AccountList becomes null. Whats more is that the user.config file never changes, if i close the application and reopen, the user.config file is still correct, but the Settings.AccountList is never read in. The Settings.AccountList is read in if i never call the .Reload() however. Update: If I create a List and Save(); from my MainForm, then the AccountList will be read in from my user.config fine. However If I add to the AccountList using my secondary form (SettingsForm) and call Save() then the next time the application is run the settings are not read in and a null value is returned in it's place. This happens even if I do not use Reload(). I think the problem has something to do with using the Generic List<. The AccountKeyClass that is being saved is saved as Serialized XML.

  What I am trying to accomplish: Create a dynamic bubble that expands on height and width depending on the text in the bubble. What I researched so far: In an so article they described the measurestring to figure out the exact width or height so dynamic changes in the .cs to the width and height can be accomplished. Is there something like this in Silverlight? Is my only option to utilize the myTxt.Text.length and then change the myGrid.height and myGrid.width to leave wasted space to accommodate all cases?

  Hi. I'm trying to implement a flip animation to be used in board game like iPhone-application. The animation is supposed to look like a game piece that rotates and changes to the color of its back (kind of like an Reversi piece). I've managed to create an animation that flips the piece around its orthogonal axis, but when I try to flip it around a diagonal axis by changing the rotation around the z-axis the actual image also gets rotated (not surprisingly). Instead I would like to rotate the image "as is" around a diagonal axis. I have tried to change layer.sublayerTransform but with no success. Here is my current implementation. It works by doing a trick to resolve the issue of getting a mirrored image at the end of the animation.   Hi, I'm using Amazon's simpledb in my app. When parsing xml it gives an error with the code 5. ie. NSXMLParserErrorDomain error 5. Sometimes it works fine and without any significant change in the navigation is gives that error.   Can someone please explain the difference between IE8 browser mode and document mode in simple terms? What causes the browser mode to change? What causes the document mode to change? If a user changes the mode(s) via developer tools, does the change remain even if the page is refreshed? I am asking this because we are doing some IE8 testing here, and different people have different combinations of the modes, and i want to try to figure out how this is happening.
