• Sorting an XML in Java

  Hello I have an XML similiar to below, which needed to be sorted using the date field. <root> <Node1><date></date></Node1> <Node1><date></date></Node1> <Node1> <date></date></Node1> <Node1> <date></date></Node1> <Node2> <date></date></Node2> <Node2> <date></date></Node2> <Node2> <date></date></Node2> <Node2> <date></date> </Node2> </root> I would like to sort the XML based on the date(say asc order), irrespective of whether the date is under Node1 or Node2. Actually in Java code I have two seperate lists, one with Node1 objects and other with Node2 obects. I can sort the list in any order sperately inside java. But I need to have the dates sorted irrespective of the nodes it is apperaing on the XML. What is the best approach to sort this way in Java? Actaully I am using Castor for marshalling the java objects to XML. If you know this can be done with Castor, that will be great!

• Spring factory beans not always initialised before being used.

  Hi, I am using spring to initialise my beans. I have configured a bean which I intend to use as a factory bean. <bean id="jsServicesFactory" class="x.y.z.JSServicesFactory" /> It is a very basic class - which has 4 getter methods. When I start my server in RAD, this all works perfectly. • Self-referencing tables in Linq2Sql

  Hi, I've seen a lot of questions on self-referencing tables in Linq2Sql and how to eagerly load all child records for a particular root object. I've implemented a temporary solution by accessing all underlying properties, but you can see that this doesn't do the performance any good. The thing is though, that all records are correlated with each-other using a correlation GUID. Example below: RootElement - Id: 1 - ParentId: null - CorrelationId: 4D68E512-4B55-44f4-BA5A-174B630A03DD ChildElement1 - Id: 2 - ParentId: 1 - CorrelationId: 4D68E512-4B55-44f4-BA5A-174B630A03DD ChildElement2 - Id: 3 - ParentId: 2 - CorrelationId: 4D68E512-4B55-44f4-BA5A-174B630A03DD ChildElement1 - Id: 4 - ParentId: 2 - CorrelationId: 4D68E512-4B55-44f4-BA5A-174B630A03DD In my case, I do have access to the correlationId, so I can retrieve all of my records by performing the following query: from element in db.Elements where element.CorrelationId == '4D68E512-4B55-44f4-BA5A-174B630A03DD' select element; But, of course, I want these elements associated with each other by executing this query: from element in db.Elements where element.CorrelationId == '4D68E512-4B55-44f4-BA5A-174B630A03DD' && element.ParentId == null select element; My question is: is it possible to combine the results the first query as some sort of 'caching mechanism' for the query where I get the root element? I tried different solution with no success either. When I write sIFR.replace(braganza, { selector: 'div#top-nav li', css: 'a { background-color: transparent; color: #FFFFFF; line-height: 13px; font-size: 11px; text-decoration: underline; cursor: pointer; } a:hover { color: #592b02; }', wmode: 'transparent' }); (which seems logical to me), the list items are not rendered at all. • Integrating ASP.NET MVC 2 with classic ASP

  I'm in the process of moving a large classic ASP application to ASP.NET MVC 2. Questions: My question is about project organization. I would prefer to not mix the MVC code with the ASP code in the same VS project. I'd like to have an MVC WAP with areas that match the parts of the website that I'm migrating. For instance, the old site has a folder /products/default.asp..... /products/productName/default.asp etc. In the MVC WAP, I'd like to have an area called "products", which I could then, either through a rewrite, routing, or preferably through some IIS configuration, point the "products" folder on the ASP site to. In this way, I could gradually move root folders from the ASP site to the MVC application. However, if I create the MVC WAP in a virtual folder, then my routes wind up looking like http://localhost/virtualFolder/products instead of http://localhost/products Any suggestions on how to conquer this? I know that, during deployment, I could deploy the MVC WAP into the root of the ASP site, but this doesn't help with debugging.

• Find position of a node within a nodeset using xpath

  After playing around with position() in vain I was googling around for a solution and arrived at this older stackoverflow question which almost describes my problem. The difference is that the nodeset I want the position within is dynamic, rather than a contiguous section of the document. To illustrate I'll modify the example from the linked question to match my requirements. Note that each <b> element is within a different <a> element. This is the critical bit. <root <a <bzyx</b </a <a <bwvu</b </a <a <btsr</b </a <a <bqpo</b </a </root Now if I queried, using XPath for a/b I'd get a nodeset of the four <b> nodes. I want to then find the position within that nodeset of the node that contains the string 'tsr'. The solution in the other post breaks down here: count(a/b[.='tsr']/preceding-sibling::*)+1 returns 1 because preceding-sibling is navigating the document rather than the context node-set. Is it possible to work within the context nodeset?

  I am developing an application that needs to access data on the sd card. When I run on my development device (an odroid with Android 2.1) I have root access and can construct the path using: File sdcard = Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory(); String path = sdcard.getAbsolutePath() + File.separator + "mydata" File data = new File(path); File[] files = data.listFiles(new FilenameFilter() { @Override public boolean accept(File dir, String filename) { return filename.toLowerCase().endsWith(".xyz"); }}); However, when I install this on a phone (2.1) where I do not have root access I get files == null. I assume this is because I do not have the right permissions to read the data from the sd card. I also get files == null when just trying to list files on /sdcard. So the same applies without my constructed path. Also, this app is not intended to be distributed through the app store and is needs to use data copied separately to the sd card so this is a real use-case. It is too much data to put in res/raw (I have tried, it did not work). I have also tried adding: <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" /> to the manifest, even though I only want to read the sd card, but it did not help. I have not found a permission type for reading the storage. There is probably a correct way to do this, but I haven't been able to find it. Any hints would be useful.

I know I'm missing an important concept here - just don't know quite what to look for. What is the proper way to construct my contract types, so that they can be properly deserialized?

• Problems using Maven to initialize a local thoughtsite (App Engine sample) project in Eclipse

  This sample app ("thoughtsite") for App Engine contains a pom.xml in its trunk: http://code.google.com/p/thoughtsite/source/browse/#svn/trunk I ran mvn eclipse:eclipse and also tried using m2eclipse to import this source code into an Eclipse project.   Hi, I can normally get the ID of the default tree nodes but my problem is onCreate then jsTree will add a new node but it doesn't have an ID. My question is how can I add an ID to the newly created tree node? What I'm thinking to do is adding the ID HTML attribute to the newly created tree node but how? I need to get the ID of all of the nodes because it will serve as a reference for the node's respective div storage. • Apache multiple URL to one domain redirect

  For the last two day, I've been spending a lot of time to solve my problem, maybe someone can help me. Problem: I need to redirect different url's to one tomcat webbase-dir used for artifactory. following urls should point to the tomcat/artifactory webapp: maven-repo.example.local ; maven-repo.example.local/artifactory ; srv-example/artifactory Where maven-repo.example.local is the dns for the server-hostname: "srv-example" I'm accessing the tomcat app through the JK_mod module. • Formatting the parent and child nodes of a Treeview that is populated by a XML file

  Hello Everyone, I'm very new to xml so I hope I'm not asking any silly question here. I'm currently working on populating a treeview from an XML file that is not hierarchically structured. In the xml file that I was given the child and parent nodes are defined within the attributes of the item element. How would I be able to utilize the attributes in order for the treeview to populate in the right hierarchical order. (Example Mary Jane should be a child node of Peter Smith). • Binary Search Tree - Postorder logic

  I am looking at implementing code to work out binary search tree. Before I do this I was wanting to verify my input data in postorder and preorder. I am having trouble working out what the following numbers would be in postorder and preorder I have the following numbers 4, 3, 14 ,8 ,1, 15, 9, 5, 13, 10, 2, 7, 6, 12, 11, that I am intending to put into an empty binary tree in that order. The order I arrived at for the numbers in POSTORDER is 2, 1, 6, 3, 7, 11, 12, 10, 9, 8, 13, 15, 14, 4. Have I got this right? I was wondering if anyone here would be able to kindly verify if the postorder sequence I came up with is indeed the correct sequence for my input i.e doing left subtree, right subtree and then root. The order I got for pre order (Visit root, do left subtree, do right subtree) is 4, 3, 1, 2, 5, 6, 14 , 8, 7, 9, 10, 12, 11, 15, 13. I can't be certain I got this right.   Facebook gurus, I have been implementing the Facebook Like button for a number of clients lately.   The directory structure: C:/wamp/www/application/model/data_access/data_object.php C:/wamp/www/application/model/users/user.class.php C:/wamp/www/application/controller/projects.php C:/wamp/www/application/controller/links/links.php I have 2 php files data_object.php and user.class.php Now user.class.php has an include statement for data_object.php wchih is relative to user.class.php.These two files are under different directory hierarchy. Now I have to include this user.class.php in various files (like projects.php, links.php-which themselves are under different hierarchy) whenever i want to create a User() object. The problem is the relative path for file inclusion of data_object.php does work for say projects.php but if i open links.php the error message says it could not open file data_object.php in user.class.php. What i think is for relative inclusion of data_object.php it is considering the path of the file in which user.class.php is included. I am facing such problems in more than one scenarios I have to keep my directory structure the way it is but have to find a way to work with nested includes. I used Document root of session it give root path as C:/wamp/www/ i appended the path for data_object.php include but this is not working. (note: the forward slash is present after www) I am currently running on wamp server's localhost but after completion i have to host the solution on a domain. Pls help

  Hi, I'm new to Python and it's OOP stuff and can't get it to work. At the moment I'd like it to output something like [[20,44], 10, 4], but when I tree.appendLeft(tree2) I get RuntimeError: maximum recursion depth exceeded, and when i even won't appendLeft(tree2) it outputs [10, 20, 44, 4] (!!!). What am I missing here? I'm using Portable Python 3.0.1. Thank you
