  I have forwarded the port 5900 for TightVNC. I have TightVNC 2.0 Beta4 installed on my Windows Vista machine.   I am writing silverlight 3 application which is working on network. It works like client-server application. There is WinForm application for server and silverlight application for client. I use TcpListener on server and connect from client to it with Socket. In local network it works fine, but when I try to use it from internet it don't connect to server. I use IP address on local network and real IP with port number for internet version. I get error 10013 AccessDenied. Port number is correct and access policy exist. Firewall is turned of. Where is the problem? Thanks.

• BroadCast Messages to multiple client on the same machine

  I need to have a server on one machine that broadcasts a message sever second or so, Kind of like a service discovery. The message needs to be received by multiple client processes that could be on the same machine or different machines. Im using delphi7, with indy 9.0.18 where im stuck is if i should be using UDP or IP MultiCast or if its even possible... Ive managed to get it to work with IP Multi Cast with one client per machine, but even after many trys with different bindings.. max/min ports etc, i cant seem to find a solution.

  Hi, I am trying to substitute variable value inside array so as to update array values based on command line inputs. e.g. I am receiving IP address as command line argument for my TCL script and trying to update commands with recvd IP value. • Fastest SFTP client

  Protocol: SFTP (port 22) I've tested CuteFtp, FileZilla, SecureCRT and several others. Looks like CuteFTP has the best throughput, usually 200%-400% than others. I've read something about SecureFtp may have slower rate from here. Can anyone explain why CuteFtp has better throughput? And, is there any other FTP client even faster than CuteFtp? Thanks a lot!

• Programmatically retrieve disconnected network adapter information in .NET

  I have an application written in C# that needs to retrieve information like IP address, subnet mask from a disconnected network adapter. I've tried using various methods such as WMI and the .NET NetworkAdapter class but they don't return any useful data when the network adapter is disconnected. I'm pretty sure Windows keeps this information somewhere, since I can apply network settings using netsh and it appears correctly in the Control Panel. One thing that worked for me in XP was to parse the output of the netsh tool and it would return information even for a disconnected adapter. However, this doesn't seem to work on Windows 7.   hi, i have to do a sniffer as an assignment for the security course. i am using c and the pcap library. i got everything working well (since i got a code from the internet and changed it). but i have some questions about the code. u_int ip_len = (ih->ver_ihl & 0xf) * 4; ih is of type ip_header, and its currently pointing the to ip header in the packet. ver_ihl gives the version of the ip i can't figure out what is: & 0xf) * 4; any help?

• SSH into Fedora 17 will not work with new users

  I just deployed a new Fedora 17 server on the Amazon EC2. I was able to log in as ec2-user with my generated keypair, but I cannot log in under normal circumstances as a user I created. • Android - Redirect sending of SMS message

  I currently use a ContentObserver to listen for changes in the SMS ContentProvider and tell my application whether a message has been sent or received. Upon getting notification that a message is being sent I would like to present the user the option to send that SMS normally over GSM/CDMA or if connected to Wifi to send the SMS over an ip connection. I am aware of how to present my own application as an option to create and send an SMS when a user clicks on a contacts information and "Send SMS" but this is not what I want. I want the user to be able to use the native or a 3rd party SMS application and when they try to send an SMS present them with a dialog screen giving them the option to send the SMS in whichever direction they want. So is it possible that once I get notified an SMS is being sent to pause it, allow the user to pick the desired route to send it and then change the sms from being sent over GSM/CDMA to being sent using a protocol over IP if required?

• Why are emails sent from my applications being marked as spam?

  Hi. I have 2 web apps running on the same server. The first is www.nimikri.com and the other is www.hourjar.com. Both apps share the same IP address (75.127.100.175). My server is through a shared hosting company. I've been testing my apps, and at first all my emails were being delivered to me just fine. Then a few days ago every email from both apps got dumped into my spam box (in gmail and google apps). So far the apps have just been sending emails to me and nobody else, so I know people aren't manually flagging them as spam. I did a reverse DNS lookup for my IP and the results I got were these: 100.127.75.in-addr.arpa NS DNS2.GNAX.NET. 100.127.75.in-addr.arpa NS DNS1.GNAX.NET. Should the reverse DNS lookup point to nimikri.com and hourjar.com, or are they set up fine the way they are? I noticed in the email header these 2 lines: Received: from nimikri.nimikri.com From: Hour Jar <[email protected]> Would the different domain names be causing gmail to think this is spam? • making urllib request in Python from the client side

  Hi Guys, I've written a Python application that makes web requests using the urllib2 library after which it scrapes the data. I could deploy this as a web application which means all urllib2 requests go through my web-server. This leads to the danger of the server's IP being banned due to the high number of web requests for many users. The other option is to create an desktop application which I don't want to do. Is there any way I could deploy my application so that I can get my web-requests through the client side. One way was to use Jython to create an applet but I've read that Java applets can only make web-requests to the server it is deployed on and the only way to to circumvent this is to create a server side proxy which leads us back to the problem of the server's ip getting banned. This might sounds sound like and impossible situation and I'll probably end up creating a desktop application but I thought I'd ask if anyone knew of an alternate solution. Thanks.

I need my website to access a webservice on server B. server B will only accept incoming requests if the requestee is located within a certain IP range and server A is not within this range. I have a server server C which is located within the IP range and the only thing blocking server A from server C is a firewall (which I have access to). It must be possible to create a hole in the firewall between server A and server C, but my question is: How do I relay the request from server A to server B via server C? I need the response from server B to get back to server A also :) Thanks in advance.

I can easily read a string buffer, but when I try to send hexadecimal data, recv gets the length, but I cannot seem to be a able to read the buffer contents. IPaddress ip; TCPsocket server,client; int bufSize = 1024; char message[bufSize]; int len; server = SDLNet_TCP_Open(&ip); client = SDLNet_TCP_Accept(server); len = SDLNet_TCP_Recv(client,message,bufSize); Here's a snippet. the buffer length "len" is set (i.e. message length) but I can't get to the data contents in the message buffer. Some sample bind_transmitter PDU data was sent by a random client to the server at that port. I can't read the PDU (SMPP).
