  • Logging ASMX Requests and Responses from Client

    Hi, I've got a C# web application which I can't easily update the code of. However, I can make configuration changes to the application. The application calls out to a third-party ASMX web service, and I really need (if at all possible) to log the full XML requests and responses. I have no control over the web service so I have to do it from the client. I'm not using WCF - this is standard ASMX web service calls. Is there any way I can log the XML requests and responses from the client web app without having to redeploy the code? Thanks in advance John

    Hi, I am creating a custom social network for one of my clients. In this I am storing the friends of a user in the form of CSV as shown below in the user table uid user_name friends 1 John 2 2 Jack 3,1 3 Gary 2,4 4 Joey 3 In the above scenario if the logged in user is John and if he visits the profile page of Joey, the connection between them should appear as John-Jack-Gary-Joey I am able to establish the connection at level 1 i.e If Jack visits Joey's profile I am able to establish the following : Jack-Gary-Joey But for the 2nd level I need to get into the same routine of for loops which I know is not the right solution + I am not able to implement that as well.     I am trying to have the "Birthday" property of an Org-mode contact entry added to the agenda automatically: * John :PROPERTIES: :Name: John :Birthday: 5 4 1900 :END: This can be done manually for each entry using: %%(diary-anniversary 5 4 1900) John's birthday But I don't want to type the date twice. I would like to use the org-entry-get functionality to make diary-anniversary take the values of the Birthday and Name (see the bold text above) properties. This is how I get the correct property values. %%(org-entry-get nil "Name") %%(org-entry-get nil "Birthday") But after several attempts, I still haven't managed to put the values in variables and pass them correctly to diary-anniversary. Any ideas how to do it?

  • Why can't I download a whole image file with urllib2.urlopen()

    When I run the following code, it only seems to be downloading the first little bit of the file and then exiting. Occassionally, I will get a 10054 error, but usually it just exits without getting the whole file. My internet connection is crappy wireless, and I often get broken downloads on larger files in firefox, but my browser has no problem getting a 200k image file.   • CURL Authentication being lost?

    I am authenticating a login via CURL just fine. I have a variable I am using to display the returned HTML, and it is returning my user control panel as if I am logged in. After authenticating, I want to communicate variables with a form on another page within the site; but for some reason the HTML from that page is returning a non-authenticated version of the header (as if the original authentication never took place.) I have a cookies.txt file with 777 permissions, and have tried just getting the contents of the same page shown when I authenticate and it is as if I am losing any associated session/cookie data somewhere along the way.   • Debugging asp.net with firefox and visual studio.net - very slow compared to IE

    Debugging asp.net websites/web projects in visual studio.net 2005 with Firefox is loads slower than using IE. I've read something somewhere that there is a way of fixing this but i can't for the life of me find it again. Does anyone know what i'm on about and can point me in the right direction please? I prefer Firefox for debugging (firebug etc) hitting F5 when debugging with IE the browser launches really quickly and clicking around my web application is almost instant and when a breakpont is hit i get to my code straight away with no delays. hitting F5 when debugging with FireFox the browser launches really slowly (ok i have plugins that slow FF loading) but clicking around my web application is really really slow and when a breakpoint is hit it takes ages to break into code. i swear i've read something somewhere that there is a setting in Firefox (about:config maybe?) that when changed to some magic setting sorts all this out.

Understand the beauty of creating layout in XML file, but lost how to access various elements, especially a View element to draw on it. Catching button events and responding to, for example changing title bar text and changing View background color works fine, but how the heck do I access and more importantly draw on the view defined in main.xml UPDATE: That for your suggestion, however besides that I need a View, not ImageView and you are missing a parameter on canvas.drawText and an ending bracket, it does not work. Now this is most likely because you missed the fact that I am a newbie and assuming I can fill in any blanks. I hope somebody can break this down for me and provide a solution, and perhaps explain why I can't just create a View element in my main.xml layotu file and draw on it in code.

  • Help with force close occurrences in my app

    This is the last issue with this app. Periodic force close situations. I think something should be on another thread but I'm not sure what. Anyway, I can always count on a freeze on first install. If I wait, eventually (maybe 10 seconds) the app comes around, maybe more. here is an excerpt from logcat--the three lines occur after full layout is displayed and I attempt to touch a [game] 'peg' which should spawn a sprite, but the freeze occurs there.     Hello, I'm trying to match an email address here is what I've come up with so far : String text = "gandalf_storm@mymail.com"; String regex = "(\\w+)@{1}(\\w+){2,}\\.{1}\\w{2,4}"; This however works with following cases : gandalf_storm@mymail.com gandalfstorm@mymail.com gandalf2storm@mymail.com So it matches any alphanumeric character repeated once or more that comes before one @ followed by any alphanumeric character repeated at least two times(which is minimal characters for any domain name) followed by one .(dot) and followed by any alphanumeric character repeated at least 2 times and at most 4 times(because there are domains such as .us or .mobi). This expression however does not work with emails such as : gandalf.storm@mymail.com [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] etc as many subdomains or gandalf.storm@mymail.com [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] I've just started to learn regex and I found interesting to try to solve problems such as these by using regex .. not partially but for each case, any help would be much appriciated. There are two ways to set/read the cross domain cookies: Creating IFrame on A.com pointing to a page on B.com which creates the cookie and pass that information by creating another IFrame on B.com side pointing to A.com, either using window.name or in location.href.hash A.com page makes a XHR/JSONP call to B.com web service/page that has the following headers and it also sets up the cookie and returns the value. AddHeader("p3p", "CP=\"IDC DSP COR ADM DEVi TAIi PSA PSD IVAi IVDi CONi HIS OUR IND CNT\"") As we don't have postMessage available across all the browsers, I believe we have to go with one of the cases mentioned above. My question is which is a better way (cleaner) and why to implement for cross browser. Using any other JS framework is out of scope of this discussion.     I'm working on a album viewer. At the top I want a horizontal container of all the image thumbnails. Right now all the thumbnails are wrapped in a div with float:left. I'm trying to figure out how to keep these thumbnails from wrapping to the next line when there are too many, but rather stay all in one horizontal row and use the scrollbar.   • Avoiding the Controller with Routing Rules in ASP.NET MVC

    I've created a website with ASP.NET MVC. I have a number of static pages that I am currently serving through a single controller called Home. This creates some rather ugly URLs. example.com/Home/About example.com/Home/ContactUs example.com/Home/Features You get the idea. I'd rather not have to create a controller for each one of these as the actions simply call the View with no model being passed in. Is there a way to write a routing rule that will remove the controller from the URL? I'd like it to look like: example.com/About example.com/ContactUs example.com/Features If not, how is this situation normally handled? I imagine I'm not the first person to run in to this.

After sorting the table is ascending time order, I need to extract the first unique record by name.     I'm trying to deploy a site generated with Jekyll and would like to keep the site in its own subfolder on my server to keep everything more organized. Essentially, I'd like to use the contents of /jekyll as the root unless a file similarly named exists in the actual web root. So something like /jekyll/sample-page/ would show as http://www.example.com/sample-page/, while something like /other-folder/ would display as http://www.example.com/other-folder. My test server runs Apache 2.2 and the following .htaccess (adapted from http://gist.github.com/97822) works flawlessly: RewriteEngine On # Map http://www.example.com to /jekyll. Edit: After a ton of research into Apache 1.3, I've found that this problem is essentially a combination of two different issues listed at the Apache 1.3 URL Rewriting Guide. I have a (partially) moved DocumentRoot, which in theory would be taken care of with something like this: RewriteRule ^/$ /e/www/ [R] I also have the infamous "Trailing Slash Problem," which is solved by setting the RewriteBase (as was suggested in one of the responses below): RewriteBase /~quux/ RewriteRule ^foo$ foo/ [R] The problem is combining the two. Moving the document root doesn't (can't?) use RewriteBase—fixing trailing slashes requires(?) it… Hmm…

    The setup: 2-node Cassandra 1.2.6 cluster replicas=2 very large CQL3 table with no secondary index Rowkey is a UUID.randomUUID().toString() read consistency set to ONE Using DataStax java driver 1.0 The request: Attempting to do a table scan by "SELECT some-col from schema.table LIMIT nnn;" The fail: Once I go beyond a certain nnn LIMIT, I start to get NoHostAvailableExceptions from the driver. For example, when this happens, there are no indications that the nodes in the cluster ever had an issue with the request (there is nothing in the logs on either node that indicate any timeout or failure). Also, I enabled the trace on the driver, which gives you some nice autotrace (ala Oracle) info as long as the query succeeds. But in this case, the driver blows a NoHostAvailableException and no ExecutionInfo is available, so tracing has not provided any benefit in this case. I also find it interesting that this does not seem to be recorded as a timeout (my JMX consoles tell me no timeouts have occurred). So, I am left not understanding WHERE the failure is actually occurring. I am left with the idea that it is the driver that is having a problem, but I don't know how to debug it (and I would really like to). I have read several posts from folks that state that query'g for resultSets 10000 rows is probably not a good idea, and I am willing to accept this, but I would like to understand what is causing the exception and where the exception is happening. FWIW, I also tried bumping the timeout properties in the cassandra.yaml, but this made no difference whatsoever. I welcome any suggestions, anecdotes, insults, or monetary contributions for my registration in the house of moron-developers. Regards!!
