• Apache2 Segfault - need help interpreting this coredump (suspect cause is memcache / php session related)

  Three Apache2 web servers running a PHP 5.2.3 web site. We're using Memcache to cache rendered pages but also as the storage engine of the PHP Sessions. At peak traffic times we're getting Apache segmentation faults on all three web servers and all HTTPD child processes segfault. My gut tells me that the increased Memcache traffic is stopping PHP sessions from being created or cleaned up and thus the processes die. • How do I create sub-applications in Django?

  I'm a Django newbie, but fairly experienced at programming. I have a set of related applications that I'd like to group into a sub-application but can not figure out how to get manage.py to do this for me. Ideally I'll end up with a structure like: project/ app/ subapp1/ subapp2/ I've tried: manage.py startapp app.subapp1 manage.py startapp app/subapp1 but this tells me that / and . are invalid characters for app names I've tried changing into the app directory and running ../manage.py subapp1 but that makes supapp1 at the top level. NOTE, I'm not trying to directly make a stand-alone application. I'm trying to do all this from within a project.

• Why does my macbook pro have long ping times over wifi?

  I have been having problems connecting with my wifi. It is weird, the ping times to the router (<30 feet away) seem to surge, often getting over 10s before slowly coming back down. You can see the trend below. I'm on a macbook pro and have done the normal stuff (reset the pram and smc, changed wireless channels, etc.). It happens across different routers, so I think it must be my laptop, but I don't know what it could be. The RSSI value hovers around -57, but I've seen the transmit rate flip between 0, 48 & 54. The signal strength is ~60% with 9% noise. Currently, there are 17 other wireless networks in range, but only one in the same channel. 1 - How can I figure out what's going on? 2 - How can I correct the situation? TIA!   I am trying to process with Proguard a MS Windows desktop application (Java 6 SE using the SWT lib provided by Eclipse). • iPhone SDK 3.0 and symbolicatecrash not getting along?

  * UPDATE * I've reinstalled with Snow Leopard, clean install. Completely wiped my existing Leopard install. Same problem persists. I've tried numbers of versions of symbolicatecrash to resolve symbols in my crash reports. From the version provided by Apple, to Alan's Quatermain's version posted on GitHub and finally from http://openradar.appspot.com/6438643. For whatever reason, the best results I can get is for symbols on my own libraries to get resolved. Normally, this is enough data to point me in the right direction -- other times it is not. With 2.x I had no problems getting the symbols for my code + Apple provided libraries from within the stack traces in each thread. Most likely an issue with my environment here, I'm not at all doubting the work that Apple or Alan have done. Yes I'm certain the dSYM I have stashed away is the same exact one that's generating the crash report. Although 'Foo' is me, and getting symbols from it is wonderful, I need to see symbols from the other functions in the stack to truly understand my reports. Note: For devices that crash running the app on iPhone OS 2.2.1, I have no problem getting all symbols. This is an iPhone OS 3.0 issue it appears. • Windows 2008 RenderFarm Service: CreateProcessAsUser "Session 0 Isolation" and OpenGL

  Hello, I have a legacy Windows server service and (spawned) application that works fine in XP-64 and W2K3, but fails on W2K8. I believe it is because of the new "Session 0 isolation " feature. (Note: As a StackOverflow newbie I'm being limited to one link in this post, so you'll need to scroll to bottom to lookup the links for '' items)* Consequently, I'm looking for code samples/security settings mojo that let you create a new process from a windows service for Windows 2008 Server such that I can restore (and possibly surpass) the previous behavior. I need a solution that: Creates the new process in a non-zero session to get around session-0 isolation restrictions (no access to graphics hardware from session 0) - the official MS line on this is: Because Session 0 is no longer a user session, services that are running in Session 0 do not have access to the video driver. This means that any attempt that a service makes to render graphics fails. Querying the display resolution and color depth in Session 0 reports the correct results for the system up to a maximum of 1920x1200 at 32 bits per pixel. The new process gets a windows station/desktop (e.g. winsta0/default) that can be used to create windows DCs. I've found a solution (that launches OK in an interactive session) for this here: *(Starting an Interactive Client Process in C++ - 2) The windows DC, when used as the basis for an *(OpenGL DescribePixelFormat enumeration - 3), is able to find and use the hardware-accelerated format (on a system appropriately equipped with OpenGL hardware.) Note that our current solution works OK on XP-64 and W2K3, except if a terminal services session is running (VNC works fine.) A solution that also allowed the process to work (i.e. run with OpenGL hardware acceleration even when a terminal services session is open) would be fanastic, although not required. I'm stuck at item #1 currently, and although there are some similar postings that discuss this (like *(this -4), and *(this - 5) - they are not suitable solutions, as there is no guarantee of a user session logged in already to "take" a session id from, nor am I running from a LocalSystem account (I'm running from a domain account for the service, for which I can adjust the privileges of, within reason, although I'd prefer to not have to escalate priorities to include SeTcbPrivileges.) For instance - here's a stub that I think should work, but always returns an error 1314 on the SetTokenInformation call (even though the AdjustTokenPrivileges returned no errors) I've used some alternate strategies involving "LogonUser" as well (instead of opening the existing process token), but I can't seem to swap out the session id. I'm also dubious about using the WTSActiveConsoleSessionId in all cases (for instance, if no interactive user is logged in) - although a quick test of the service running with no sessions logged in seemed to return a reasonable session value (1). • Best way to display a list of events by month

  I have a mySQL table of events and want to display them in a list using PHP. Pretty simple, except I only want to display the month name once, for example: May 2010 12th, 7 pm. Event 1 - event one description 15th, 5:30 pm. Event 2 - event two description June 2010 9th, 7 pm. Event 1 - event one description 11th, 5:30 pm. Event 2 - event two description I'm very new at SQL and PHP. I can think of one way to do it. It would involve selecting all records grouped by date, then looping through all records, comparing the month/year value each time and the first time the month/year doesn't match, print a new header row to my HTML table. I can't believe it's the best or most efficient way to go. Any ideas for a newbie? I'm sure my way would work, but it's inelegant at best, and processor-intensive at worst.

  Okay, here is my issue: My app has a display of categories in the tab bar at the bottom of the iPhoneOS screen. This only allows 5 categories before it presents the MORE button. I have over 25 (please do not answer this by saying: "Rethink your application...etc" -- that was rudely said before. They are food, drink, etc categories and cannot be changed). I want to allow the user to put their favorites on the home page. The Apple moreNavigationController editing system only allows 20 tab bar items to be rearranged due to space constraints on the editing page. This is not enough so i need to implement my own Editing screen. I set the rightBarButtonItem to nil and created my own. Using NSLog, i can see the "click" happens when clicking the EDIT button, but I cannot push using pushViewController. Nothing happens. I think it has something to do with the navigationController I am addressing...but i am not sure. ps: This all happens in my App Delegate which DOES act as both UITabBarControllerDelegate & UINavigationControllerDelegate. • use jsonp to get xml cross domain

  I am trying to read xml into a webpage from another server, and I assume that my problem is Same-Origin Policy, and therefore a cross domain problem. I have a bit of googling and it seems that jsonp is the way forward. Based on some examples I found here on stackoverflow and another sites, this is what I have, and it does not "hit" the server with the xml. • Understanding the memory consumption on iPhone

  Hello! I am working on a 2D iPhone game using OpenGL ES and I keep hitting the 24 MB memory limit – my application keeps crashing with the error code 101. I tried real hard to find where the memory goes, but the numbers in Instruments are still much bigger than what I would expect. I ran the application with the Memory Monitor, Object Alloc, Leaks and OpenGL ES instruments. When the application gets loaded, free physical memory drops from 37 MB to 23 MB, the Object Alloc settles around 7 MB, Leaks show two or three leaks a few bytes in size, the Gart Object Size is about 5 MB and Memory Monitor says the application takes up about 14 MB of real memory. I am perplexed as where did the memory go – when I dig into the Object Allocations, most of the memory is in the textures, exactly as I would expect. But both my own texture allocation counter and the Gart Object Size agree that the textures should take up somewhere around 5 MB. I am not aware of allocating anything else that would be worth mentioning, and the Object Alloc agrees. Where does the memory go? (I would be glad to supply more details if this is not enough.) Update: I really tried to find where I could allocate so much memory, but with no results. What drives me wild is the difference between the Object Allocations (~7 MB) and real memory usage as shown by Memory Monitor (~14 MB). Even if there were huge leaks or huge chunks of memory I forget about, the should still show up in the Object Allocations, shouldn’t they? I’ve already tried the usual suspects, ie. the UIImage with its caching, but that did not help. Is there a way to track memory usage “debugger-style”, line by line, watching each statement’s impact on memory usage? What I have found so far: I really am using that much memory. It is not easy to measure the real memory consumption, but after a lot of counting I think the memory consumption is really that high. My fault. I found no easy way to measure the memory used. The Memory Monitor numbers are accurate (these are the numbers that really matter), but the Memory Monitor can’t tell you where exactly the memory goes. The Object Alloc tool is almost useless for tracking the real memory usage. When I create a texture, the allocated memory counter goes up for a while (reading the texture into the memory), then drops (passing the texture data to OpenGL, freeing). This is OK, but does not always happen – sometimes the memory usage stays high even after the texture has been passed on to OpenGL and freed from “my” memory. This means that the total amount of memory allocated as shown by the Object Alloc tool is smaller than the real total memory consumption, but bigger than the real consumption minus textures (real – textures < object alloc < real). Go figure. I misread the Programming Guide. The memory limit of 24 MB applies to textures and surfaces, not the whole application. The actual red line lies a bit further, but I could not find any hard numbers. The consensus is that 25–30 MB is the ceiling. When the system gets short on memory, it starts sending the memory warning.   Hello, I am a seasoned C and Java programmer, but an absolute WPF newbie. I am creating a kiosk application that will display a list of images of products that the user will click to see product details and maybe place an order. I am trying to structure my app with MVVM Foundation because I am used to the benefits of structure and tests. I wonder what is the most natural way to create a grid of clickable images that will fill the screen left to right, top to bottom (or the other way round, I have no exact requirements). Any image should be bound to an object that will become current and be displayed in the next screen. Thanks for your help.

• Validation plugin hijacks click function?

  Absolute newbie question, any help is highly appreciated :) I am using curvycorners (http://www.curvycorners.net/) in combination with the jQuery validation plugin (http://bassistance.de/jquery-plugins/jquery-plugin-validation/), and I'm having problems getting the div to redraw the rounded corners when I do like this: $("input[type='submit']").click(function(e) { curvyCorners.redraw(); }); When I click the submit-button the first time the form validates, the validation error-message pops up and expands the div, causing the layout to go ugly. However when I click on it the second time the rounded corners redraw nicely. Could it be that my validation plugin hijacks my initial click? How do I go about this? Any hint is very much appreciated.

Now I would like to delete one dict and only one dict in this list? What is the best way to proceed? I've try with the index of the list, but when I remove a dict from the list, the index is modify, so after some random remove my index doesn't correspond anymore to the dict I want to remove in my list. I hope that is clear. Maybe I can add an "id" row in my dict, so I can ask to remove more preciously the dict I want. I'll ask to remove the dict where id is equal to the id's dict I want to remove. How can I do that? I hope I'm enough clear. Sorry but I'm a newbie in Python.

  I am trying to use HTML5 data- attributes in my ASP.NET MVC 1 project. (I am a C# and ASP.NET MVC newbie.) <%= Html.ActionLink("« Previous", "Search", new { keyword = Model.Keyword, page = Model.currPage - 1}, new { @class = "prev", data-details = "Some Details" })%> The "data-details" in the above htmlAttributes give the following error: CS0746: Invalid anonymous type member declarator. Anonymous type members must be declared with a member assignment, simple name or member access. It works when I use data_details, but I guess it need to be starting with "data-" as per the spec. My questions: Is there any way to get this working and use HTML5 data attributes with Html.ActionLink or similar Html helpers ? Is there any other alternative mechanism to attach custom data to an element? This data is to be processed later by JS.
