    I use tomcat. I am developing a web application using struts2, and I use eclipse as my IDE for development.   • Tomcat/Hibernate Problem "SEVERE: Error listenerStart"

    I downloaded working example of hibernate (with maven) and installed it on my tomcat, it worked. Then I created a new web project in MyEclipse, added hibernate support and moved all source files (no jar) to this new project and fixed package/paths wherever was necessary. My servlets are responding correctly but when I add "Listener" in web.xml, tomcat returns error "Error ListenerStart" on startup and my application doesn't start. I've carefully checked all packages, paths and classes, they look good.     Here's the sample code: var d = new Date("2010-06-09T19:20:30+01:00"); document.write(d); On FF3.6 this will give you: Wed Jun 09 2010 14:20:30 GMT-0400 (EST) Other browers tested; Chrome 5, Safari 4, IE7 give: Invalid Date I know there is limited to no support for ISO8601 dates, but does anyone know what and/or where the difference is in FF3.6 that allows this to work? My thought is that FF is just stripping out what it doesn't understand while the others are not. Has anyone else seen this and/or getting different results from the test script?

  • How to print PCL Directly to the printer? Vb.net VS 2010

    Good day, I've been trying to upgrade an old Print Program that prints raw pcl directly to the printer. The print program takes a PCL Mask and a PCL Batch Spool File (just pcl with page turn commands, I think) merges them and sends them off to the printer. I'm able to send to the Printer a file stream of PCL but I get mixed results and i do not understand why printing is so difficult under .net. I mean yes there is the PrintDocument class, but to print PCL... Let's just say I'm ready to detach my printer from the network and burn it a live.   • Visual Studio 2010 and javascript debugging in external javascript files (embedded and minified).

    Hi, The asp.net web application I'm working on is written in asp.net 3.5, the web app solution is upgraded from VS 2008 (don't know if that matter). The solution had javascript in the aspx files before I moved the javascript to external files. Now what I have done is to set all the javascript files to be embedded resource (except the jquery.js file) and I want to minify them when building for release by using the MS Ajax Minifier. I want to use the minified javascript files when I'm in the RELEASE mode and when I'm in DEBUG mode I want to use the "normal" versions. My problem now is that I'm unable to debug the javascript code in debug mode. When I set a break point a javascript function, VS is not breaking at all when the function is executed.     Hi there, i recently installed some snippets that come with the mvvm-light framework i am using. And sure enought i checked via Tools > Code Snippet Manager and they are installed under "My Code Snippets". If i do insert Snipper (right click in code window) or CTRL K + CTRL X then i can search within all available snippets.... But i do believe its possible to just type the shortcut key (in this case it is mvvmlocatorproperty) and pressing tab inserts the snippet BUT when i type the shortcut key it is not recognizing anything... What am i doing wrong?? This is not an incompatibility with resharper 5? - which i have installed Any ideas really appreciated

    I use a DATE's master table for looking up dates and other values in order to control several events, intervals and calculations within my app. It has rows for every single day begining from 01/01/1990 to 12/31/2041. One example of how I use this lookup table is: A customer pawned an item on: JAN-31-2010 Customer returns on MAY-03-2010 to make an interest pymt to avoid forfeiting the item. If he pays 1 months interest, the employee enters a "1" and the app looks-up the pawn date (JAN-31-2010) in date master table and puts FEB-28-2010 in the applicable interest pymt date. FEB-28 is returned because FEB-31's dont exist! If 2010 were a leap-year, it would've returned FEB-29. If customer pays 2 months, MAR-31-2010 is returned. 3 months, APR-30... If customer pays more than 3 months or another period not covered by the date lookup table, employee manually enters the applicable date.   • How do I use the Windows API Code Pack in VB.net 2010 Express?

    Hi all, I recently downloaded the Windows API code pack for .net, and seeing there was VB.net examples inside there, I opened them up. Upon building I get a warning that the referenced components 'Core' and 'Shell' could not be found. Looking in the code pack folder I see there are no DLLs at all, but instead a whole load of C# sources. Do I have to download C# Express (which I want to avoid) to use the code pack or are there precompiled DLLs somewhere?

    According to MSDN, for deploying custom web service, we need to create *wsdl.aspx and *disco.aspx files, and put them with .asmx together under _vti_bin folder (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\isapi). And put the dll under bin folder of the root of sharepoint virtual directory. It works correctly for me. However, i also found that if i put .asmx file under the root virtual directory without creating those *wsdl.aspx and *disco.aspx files. It can work as well and much easier than the above way. So i'm wondering what's the potential issues in this way?

    Yesterday I was checking VS2010 editions here and I've noticed that with VS10 with MSDN we get TFS2010 with 1 CAL. I'm a micro ISV (basically sole developer, many clients). I just want to save time - did anyone tried it in similar scenario? Are there any features worth looking into for such a small implementation? P.S. Right now I'm using GIT with gitextension - I'm happy with it, but I would like something more integrated with project management and bug tracking so I can show it to my clients when I'm working on their projects.

    Hi everyone, I'm trying to render a calendar with rails and haml. The dates used come from a variable called @dates. It is a Date range that contains the first and last days to be presented on the calendar. The first day is always sunday and the last one is always monday. I'm planning to render a typical calendar, with one column per weekday (sunday is going to be the first day of the week) using an html table. So, I need to put a %tr followed by a %td on sundays, but the rest of the days I just need a %td. I'm having trouble modelling that on haml. This seems to require different levels of identation, and that's something it doesn't like.   • How can I speed up Subversion checkins? (Using ANKH, latest, Visual Studio 2010)

    I've started working on a new web project with some friends... we are using the latest Subversion server (installed last week), the latest version of ANKH. My web project is a whapping 1.5 megabytes (that's with all images, css files, dll's after compiling, pdb files... etc). Checking in even super small changes (literally adding the letter "x" to a few files for testing)... takes FOREVER! (about 10 seconds - I almost killed myself). The ANKH client is measuring in BYTES PER SECOND ... BYTES? per second... I must be doing something wrong. Does anyone what config file has a joke totallyMessWithPeople=true so that I can turn that off or something? Oh, also, changing one "big" file of a super 10k gains speed up to nearly the speed of light (which is apparently 857 bytes per second). Help me obi wan kenobi, your my only hope! EDIT: As a note... my real work project that uses Visual Source Safe 2005 (I know, ouch) uploads files at about 200-500kbps from this very same computer/internet connection.
