    I need to upload a CSV file and get its contents form the client side itself. Then post it to the server where I can retriev the stream and do the string manipulations in the serer action methods. Is there any jquery plugin for this task to upload a csv file and send data as a stream using ajax or jason? I am really new to this area.I am working in VS2010 AND mvc3. Can some one give me a clear solution for this mater?? Any examples?? I did search a lot but did not find any suitable solution yet. Can anyone please help me with this matter. Thanks so much.

    I'm building a tabbed WPF application. I'm planning to put MapPoint control (ActiveX) on one of the tabs. I want to have the option to float this tab just like in VS 2010. The resulting widow must contain the same instance of the MapPoint control (because each instance of the control starts up separate MapPoint instance). Any idea how to implement this?

    We need to read data from FoxPro 8 with C#. I'm gonna do some operations, and will push some of thoses data to an SQL Server database. We are not sure what's best method to read those data. I saw OLE DB and ODBC; what's best? REQUIRMENTS: The export program will run each night, but my company runs 24h a day. The DBF could sometimes be huge. We DON'T need to modify data. Our system, wich use FoxPro, is quite unstable: I need to find a way that ABSOLUTELY do not corrupt data, and, ideally, do not lock DBF files while reading. Speed is a minor requirement: it must be quick, but requirement #4 is most important.

    Hi. I have a process that contains C# code, C++\CLI code and native c++ code. Now, I'm trying to remote debug my process, and I can go to the statements of my C# code and my C++\CLI code, but I can't reach my native code. When I try to hit a breakpoint in my native c++ source file, I get the "No symbole have been loaded" error. I tried to manualy load the symboles (tools-options-debugging), but no luck. Any Idea?

    I can build a simple dll consisting of a source file, a header file and a definition but now I am progressing beyond a simple toy dll and working towards something more real (ie: more complex). The DLL I am trying to compile has 2 source files, 2 headers and the dreaded stdafx pair. To compile normally you would use /Yc for the pch and /Yu to use it. How do you specify that with in the constraints of mojo-native's compiler options?

  • How do I get ELMAH to work with SQL Server (permission problems)

    I've got ELMAH working on my (Cassini) development server, and was quite happy with it, but now that I'm trying to move everything to my production server (IIS7), the honeymoon looks like being over. I've got past the "gotcha" with IIS7, which frankly could have been better highlighted in the documentation, and if I just use the in-memory log then it works. However, I'm trying to get it to use the SQL Server log (as I do on my development system), and I'm getting an error along the lines of: The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object ELMAH_GetErrorsXml Well, fine. I know how to grant database permissions, but I'm really struggling to understand which user and which stored procs/tables I need to grant access to. The thing that's really confusing me is that I didn't have to do anything like this to get it to work on my development server. The only difference I can see is that on my development server it seems to connect as NT AUTHORITY\IUSR, whereas on my production server it seems to connect as NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE. (It's just using a trusted connection so I've not explicitly configured it to do that - I presume it's to do with the web server). UPDATE: I've since established that because I'm using Cassini, it was actually logging in as me (an admin) and not IUSR, which explains why I didn't get any permission problems. On my development server, the IUSR account is a member of the public database role, and has access to the required database (again as "public"). There's no explicit granting of object-level permissions. [See update above - this is irrelevant]. On my production server, I've added NETWORK SERVICE in exactly the same way (public database role, explicit access to the database as "public"). Yet, I get this permission error. Why?!! [See update above - the only reason I don't get a permission error is because I'm running as an admin]. And, of course, if the fact that it works locally is just "luck", I will need to know which SPs/tables to grant access to. My guess would be all 3 SPs and not the table, but it would be good (again) to see some documentation that makes this explicit.

    Hello friends, I have created my own custom role provider class "SGI_RoleProvider" and configured properly. Everything is working fine. Suppose that I have added a public method say "SayHello()", then how can i call that. Because if i am using Roles then the method is not displayed. If i am forcefully using that Roles.SayHello() then compiler gives the error. Any suggestion how can i call this. Because creating a new instance of SGI_RoleProvider is meaningless.     I have different tabs on my UserControl. Each tab has some controls and button. I want to change AcceptButton on the basis of group of controls I am in. I can use TextChanged event or Enter event to make a button AcceptButton for Textboxes but I have some Comboboxes too. Will it also release the IRecordInfo interface? Or i have to manually get the encapsulated struct and deallocate each member myself and then use CoTaskMemFree to deallocate sturct. But, if i press down-arrow key on keyboard, it cycles thru the options in the order I've inserted, but never does it show more than 1 option in the box. So, In case an user wants to select option3, he has to cycle through options 1 and 2 !! Though once I select any option using the keyboard, the appropriate event handlers are fired, I'm miffed by this behaviour , as is understandable. I'm listing the properties of the combo-box control as well - only the properties that are true(rest are set to false): Type - Dropdown Vertical Scrollbar Visible Tabstop This has bugged me for weeks now. Can anyone pls enlighten me ?
