    i have text such as http://pastebin.com/H8zTbG54 we can say this text is set of rules splitted by "OR" at the end of lines i need to put set of lines(rules) into buckets (bash array members) but i have character limit for each array member which is 1024 so each array member should contain set of rules but character count for each array member can not exceed 1024 can anybody help me to do that solaris 10

  • On iPhone, how do I check once per day to see if i should phone-home?

    I want to check a file on the server only once each day (NSURL). And, no matter if I fetch the file or not, I do not run the function (to check for the file) again that day. This would SEEM easy... but I forsee issues. Say I had created a directory under the mainBundle: "/Library/runOnceEachDay/". Perhaps I could write to /Library/runOnceEachDay/20100601 knowing that file would only exist if I already ran the function. If it does not exist, run the function and after the function is successful write a zero length file with the date as the filename. Then check before running that function for "mainBundle/Library/runOnceEachDay/YYYYMMDD" whereas YYYYMMDD is today's date. If that file exists, do not run. I could run a housecleaning routine to clean that directory once/week or something. Any better ideas? Thanks!

    I am trying to convert this native sql into an HQL query. Basically it returns all the contacts that are duplicates (by company, firstname, and lastname). The query below works great, but performing a joined subselect seems impossible in HQL is it not?!     I'm working on an iOS app and I'm using the following code for one of my tables to return the number of rows in a particular section: return [[kSettings arrayForKey:@"views"] count]; Is there any other way to write that line of code so that it is more memory efficient? EDIT: kSettings = NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults. Is there any way to rewrite my line of code so that whatever memory it occupies is released sooner than it is released now?

  • implementing keepalives with Java

    Hi All, I am biulding a client-server application where I have to implement a keepalive mechanism in order to detect that the client has crashed or not. I have separate threads on both client and server side. the client thread sends a "ping" then sleeps for 3 seconds, while the server reads the BufferedInput Stream and checks whether ping is received, if so it makes the ping counter eqauls zero, else it increments the counter by +1, the server thread then sleeps for 3 seconds, if the ping counter reaches 3, it daclares the client as dead. The problem is that when the server reads the input stream, its a blocking call, and it blocks untill the next ping is received, irrespective of how delayed it is, so the server never detects a missed ping. any suggestions, so that I can read the current value of the stream and it doesn't block if there is nothing on the incoming stream.   • PHP & MySQL - saving and looping problems.

    I'm new to PHP and MySQL I want a user to be able to store multiple names and there meanings in a MySQL database tables named names using PHP I will dynamically create form fields with JQuery every time a user clicks on a link so a user can enter 1 to 1,000,000 different names and there meanings which will be stored in a table called names. Since I asked my last question I figured out how to store my values from my form using the for loop but every time I loop my values when I add one or more dynamic fields the second form field named meaning will not save the value entered also my dynamic form fields keep looping doubling, tripling and so on the entered values into the database it all depends on how many form fields are added dynamically. I was wondering how can I fix these problems? On a side note I replaced the query with echo's to see the values that are being entered.     I have two pools of strings and I would like to do a loop over both. For example, if I want to put two labeled apples in one plate I'll write: basket1 = ['apple#1', 'apple#2', 'apple#3', 'apple#4'] for fruit1 in basket1: basket2 = ['apple#1', 'apple#2', 'apple#3', 'apple#4'] for fruit2 in basket2: if fruit1 == fruit2: print 'Oops!' else: print "New Plate = %s and %s" % (fruit1, fruit2) However, I don't want order to matter -- for example I am considering apple#1-apple#2 equivalent to apple#2-apple#1. What's the easiest way to code this? I'm thinking about making a counter in the second loop to track the second basket and not starting from the point-zero in the second loop every time.

    Our project uses an LDAP repository for storing users. In production this will be Active Directory. For development, we seem to have a couple of options: Install an AD LDS instance that everyone uses Install an AD LDS instance on every developer machine We're trying to keep the 'F5' experience as lightweight as possible, so installing things or relying on a central AD store aren't my favorite ideas. There are other LDAP servers, like Open LDAP. I was hoping there might be an LDAP server that simply talks to an XML file. This would allow us to store the XML file in source control and have something that is fast and works. Our nightly builds would still use AD to pick up any differences, but the hope is since we're using LDAP it should Just Work. Can you recommend an LDAP implementation that works well for zero-config shared-nothing development?

  • C++ Structure within itself?

    I've been trying to port this code to python, but there is something I do not quite understand in C++ (I do know a bit of C++ but this is beyond me): typedef struct huffnode_s { struct huffnode_s *zero; struct huffnode_s *one; unsigned char val; float freq; } huffnode_t; What I don't get is how huffnode_s can be within itself, I've never seen this before and don't quite understand it. What does this mean, and if someone can, what would be the python equivalent?

  • Masking a bit in C returning unexpected result

    0x7F000000 is 0111 1111 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 in 32 bit binary. 0x01000058 is 0000 0001 0000 0000 0000 0000 0101 1000. When I AND the two numbers together I expect 0000 0001 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000, but for some reason I get 0. Here is my code: #define MASK_binop 0x80000000 #define MASK_operation 0x7F000000 int instruction=atoi(line); if((MASK_binop & instruction)>0) printf("binop\n"); else if((MASK_operation & instruction)>0) printf("operation\n"); Each of the above comparisons keeps returning zero.   • Can a process have two pid's?

    I'm studying computer systems and I've made this very simple function which uses fork() to create a child process. fork() returns a pid_t that is 0 if it's a child process. But calling the getpid() function within this child process returns a different, nonzero pid. In the code I have below, is newPid only meaningful in the context of the program, and not to the operating system?     As an addendum to this question, what is going on here: #include <string> using namespace std; struct A { string s; }; int main() { A a = {0}; } Obviously, you can't set a std::string to zero. Can someone provide an explanation (backed with references to the C++ Standard, please) about what is actually supposed to happen here? And then explain for example): int main() { A a = {42}; } Are either of these well-defined? Once again an embarrassing question for me - I always give my structs constructors, so the issue has never arisen before.

But: I have to skip holidays - non-recurrent situation I have to skip weekends - recurrent situation I have to not count working time (e.g: from 8:00am till 5:00pm) - recurrent situation, but with finer granularity Is there a simple way to achieve these cases using Joda time library?
