  • Problem setting up Master-Master Replication in MySQL

    - by Andrew
I am attempting to setup Master-Master Replication on two MySQL database servers. I have followed the steps in this guide, but it fails in the middle of Step 4 with SHOW MASTER STATUS; It simply returns an empty set. I get the same 3 errors in both servers' logs. MySQL errors on SQL1: [ERROR] Failed to open the relay log './sql1-relay-bin.000001' (relay_log_pos 4) [ERROR] Could not find target log during relay log initialization [ERROR] Failed to initialize the master info structure MySQL Errors on SQL2: [ERROR] Failed to open the relay log './sql2-relay-bin.000001' (relay_log_pos 4) [ERROR] Could not find target log during relay log initialization [ERROR] Failed to initialize the master info structure The errors make no sense because I'm not referencing those files in any of my configurations. I'm using Ubuntu Server 10.04 x64 and my configuration files are copied below. I don't know where to go from here or how to troubleshoot this. Please help. Thanks. /etc/mysql/my.cnf on SQL1: # # The MySQL database server configuration file. # # You can copy this to one of: # - "/etc/mysql/my.cnf" to set global options, # - "~/.my.cnf" to set user-specific options. # # One can use all long options that the program supports. # Run program with --help to get a list of available options and with # --print-defaults to see which it would actually understand and use. # # For explanations see # http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/server-system-variables.html # This will be passed to all mysql clients # It has been reported that passwords should be enclosed with ticks/quotes # escpecially if they contain "#" chars... # Remember to edit /etc/mysql/debian.cnf when changing the socket location. • How to organize Python modules for PyPI to support 2.x and 3.x

    - by Craig McQueen
I have a Python module that I would like to upload to PyPI. So far, it is working for Python 2.x. It shouldn't be too hard to write a version for 3.x now. But, after following guidelines for making modules in these places: Distributing Python Modules The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Packaging it's not clear to me how to support multiple source distributions for different versions of Python, and it's not clear if/how PyPI could support it. I envisage I would have separate code for: 2.x 2.6 (maybe, as a special case to use the new buffer API) 3.x How is it possible to set up a Python module in PyPI so that someone can do: easy_install modulename and it will install the right thing whether the user is using 2.x or 3.x?

  • Running Xcode Applications without installing Xcode

    - by Cawas
I know nothing about Xcode, except it's a Developer interface from Apple that actually comes on OSX CD and it's used to create iPhone apps as well. I also know it have a Applications folder, filled with little utilities, that are indeed quite useful. I tried grabbing one of them and running, without installing Xcode but it doesn't work. It brings an error and a Problem Report from which I believe the relevant part is this: Dyld Error Message: Library not loaded: @rpath/DevToolsInterface.framework/Versions/A/DevToolsInterface I've tried, of course, locating that "framework", with no success. Well... I guess it's probably possible to install Xcode, get that utility source, if it exists somewhere, and compile for stand-alone. But that goes beyond my point. I just want to know if there's somewhere I can get those utilities and/or make them run without needing to install Xcode at all.

  • Android: TabHost How To: set new content in existing tabs upon menu button?

    - by Martin D.
Hello stackoverflow, I recently started Android programming and was working on my first program which displays a historic text document, sectioned by tabs via TabHost. I have limited my program to one activity and merely used setContent in my TabSpec's to switch between different XML views. The document has both unedited and corrected versions of the text for which I have built text views to accommodate. I wanted to implement the standard menu to have buttons to "view corrected" and "view original" and switch the content of the tabs which have changes (without altering the tabs or their indicators). I've read on the TabHost API and there is no way to edit existing tab content with setContent() of TabSpec; and AFAIK TabWidget only affects the actual tabs, not the content that is displayed upon pressing them. I've thought about creating a new class which extended TabHost and super() all of the original methods, while including one more which updated the mTabSpec list. My question would be, how would I update the frameLayout view of a specific tab to display content I specify?

  • What enterprise architecture tools support DoDAF 2.0?

    - by David Hunt
What tools best support the DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) Version 2.0, including support for transfer of the architecture data in accordance with the DoDAF Meta Model (DM2) Physical Exchange Specification (PES)? My initial research found that MagicDraw and Casewise claim support for version 2.0; and several other tools have support for earlier (or unspecified) DoDAF/MoDAF versions including Sparx Enterprise Architect, Troux, IDS Scheer ARIS, Artisan Studio and Rational System Architect. Experiences with any enterprise architecture tools and DoDAF 2.0 would be appreciated. The immediate need is for Data and Information Viewpoint models (DIV-1, DIV-2/OV-7, DIV-3/SV-11), but models in the other Viewpoints will be developed. Thanks -

  • Are Visual Studio Setup Projects suitable for complex setups

    - by Robert
Are "Visual Studio Setup" Projects suitable for complex setups in different versions? The application is rather large ( 500.000 lines of code) and is under continuous development. Every 6 to 10 month a new version gets released. We have multiple configuration files (INI and XML), registry keys, database migration scripts, etc. The application is in the progress of being migrated from VB6 to .NET . The old installer was build with Installshield. The feedback to Installshield is: Bad adaptability, bad reuse - thats way we are evaluating "Visual Studio Setup" as an alternative. Other products we consider: Free Solutions WiX NSIS Commercial Solutions Installshield (again..) Wise Advanced Installer sth. missing? Solutions we don't like to consider: Inno Setup (It just doesn't feel right)

  • Django cannot find my templatetags, even though it's in INSTALLED_APPS and has a __init__.py

    - by Vivian Short
I just installed django-compress (http://code.google.com/p/django-compress) into /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/lib/python2.6/site-packages/compress. I added 'compress' to INSTALLED_APPS. In my template file, I wrote {% load compressed %}. I got the error: 'compressed' is not a valid tag library: Could not load template library from django.templatetags.compressed, No module named compressed I verified that there is an init.py in compress, as well as in compress/templatetags/. I tried putting the compress directory into PYTHONPATH. I ran python and wrote "import compress" and that worked. Your suggestions would be very appreciated! What else can I try?

  • Shell extension installation not recognized by Windows 7 64-bit shell

    - by Avalanchis
I have a Copy Hook Handler shell extension that I'm trying to install on Windows 7 64-bit. The shell extension DLL is compiled in two separate versions for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows. The DLL implements DLLRegisterServer which adds the necessary registry entries. After adding the registry entries, it calls the following line of code to nofity the Windows shell: SHChangeNotify(SHCNE_ASSOCCHANGED, SHCNF_IDLIST, NULL, NULL); Everything works great on Windows7 32-bit. The shell recognizes the extension immediately. On 64-bit, the shell extension is only recognized after the shell is restarted. Is there anything I can do to cause the extension to be recognized without restarting the 64-bit shell?

  • How to avoid session sharing provided by IE8 programatically in java/j2ee application ?

    - by Idiot
Microsoft, in an effort to make Internet Explorer 8 "more stable" and “faster”, have changed the underlying architecture of the browser and introduced a function called "Loosely-Coupled IE" (LCIE) which works on session sharing across TAB and new instances. But session sharing may be fatal when some one is trying to do two different things at a time with the same application, e.g. like someone want to book one forward journey ticket and one return ticket at a time, at that time he will book 2 same tickets what he has not intended to. PROBABLE SOLUTION ON IT While creating new window Instead of creating by clicking on icon or Ctrl+N we should use File - New Session it will not happen. You can make a registry change on the client PC - adding the following. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main] “TabProcGrowth" = dword : 00000000 Will disable "Loosely Couple IE8"; IE8 then works as previous versions of IE. But how i will do it programatically ?

  • .NET HttpListener: when registering both HTTP & HTTPS I get "conflicts with an existing registration

I'm trying to use .NET HttpListener in a C# project. When I register my prefix "http://*:8080/" it does not seem to work for HTTPS urls (i.e. doesn't pick them up). When I try the following code to register both the HTTP and HTTPS versions of the prefix however I get the error: "Failed to listen on prefix 'https://:8080/' because it conflicts with an existing registration on the machine."* How can I get my prefix working for both HTTP & HTTPS? private HttpListener _listener; // Create prefixes var prefixes = new List<string>(); prefixes.Add("http://*:8080/"); prefixes.Add("https://*:8080/"); // Create HttpListener _listener = new HttpListener(); foreach (string prefix in prefixes) { _listener.Prefixes.Add(prefix); } _listener.Start(); // <== ERROR HERE thanks

  • Excel get_Range missing when interop assembly is embedded in .NET 4.0

    - by mikemay
I build an assembly referencing a COM interop DLL. If I embed the COM interop types by setting Embed Interop Types to True in the Reference's properties (VS2010), at run-time an error occurs "object does not contain a definition for get_Range". If COM interop types are not embedded then no error occurs. Does anyone know why a particular method, Worksheet.get_Range should be ommitted or how to work around this or have any other relevant insights? I should be grateful for any help. The interop dll contains a reference to Worksheet.get_Range(object, [object]). Using reflector on my calling assembly there is no mention of get_Range under Worksheet. The interop assembly I am embedding is generated from Excel9.olb. I am not using PIAs as the application targets multiple Excel versions.

  • WPD MTP data stream hanging on Release

    - by Jonathan Potter
I've come across a weird problem when reading data from a MTP-compatible mobile device using the WPD (Windows Portable Devices) API, under Windows 8 (not tried any other Windows versions yet). The symptom is, when calling Release on an IStream interface obtained via the IPortableDeviceResources::GetStream function, occasionally the Release call will hang and not return until the device is disconnected from the PC. After some experimentation I've discovered that this never happens as long as the entire contents of the stream have been read. But if the stream has only been partially read (say, the first 256Kb of the file), it can happen seemingly at random (although quite frequently). This has been reproduced with an iPhone and a Windows Phone 8 mobile, so it does not seem to be device-specific. Has anyone come across this sort of issue before? And more importantly, does anyone know of a way to solve it other than by always reading the entire contents of the stream? Thanks!

  • Code Sign error: The identity 'iPhone Developer: x Xxxxx' doesn't match any identity in any profile

    - by Cal
I get this build error when I build my iPhone project to run on my device: Code Sign error: The identity 'iPhone Developer: x Xxxxx' doesn't match any identity in any profile My development code signing certificate expired so I got a new one. On my first attempt I created a new CSR and got the message above. The second time I reused my original CSR and got the same result. Another strange thing is the new certificate has an extra string with brackets after my name in the "common name" when I look at it using Keychain Access like this: iPhone Developer: x Xxxxx (3BDUAJYC9Q) My original certificate didn't have that. I have Xcode Version 3.1.3 Component versions Xcode IDE: 1191.0 Xcode Core: 1192.0 ToolSupport: 1186.0 Does anyone know how to solve this?

  • Building cURL & libcurl with Visual Studio 2010

    - by KTC
With the help of question #197444, I have managed to build cURL & libcurl from source on Windows from within the Visual Studio 2010 IDE, OpenSSL 1.0.0, and zlib 1.2.5. The problem I see is that at the moment, if I run the resulting curl.exe with the argument -V, then the version that it report is curl 7.20.1 (i386-pc-win32) libcurl/7.20.1 OpenSSL/0.9.8d zlib/1.2.3 Protocols: dict file ftp ftps http https imap imaps ldap pop3 pop3s rtsp smtp smtps telnet tftp Features: AsynchDNS Largefile NTLM SSL libz Note the versions reported for both OpenSSL & zlib doesn't match if what I actually used. Any idea on how to fix this? p.s. Is there a clear list of optional components that can be compiled into libcurl and what options/preprocessor directive to use? (e.g. SSPI, libidn, ...?)

It seems to be some kind of link problem to Ruby, but I'm don't know how to solve this. I ran which ruby and it's at this point located in "/usr/local/bin/ruby". I checked the Ruby in "/usr/lib/" and it's pointing to my system Ruby: "../../System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/Current/usr/lib/ruby" Any help would be appreciated.

  • Installer for java application

    - by bguiz
Hi, I would like to know what packages are out there that can be used to create installers to distribute applications. The target application is written in Java. The installer must be able to: be compiled via an ant script be compiled Linux (and Windows) run on Windows and Linux detect / handle previously installed versions of the application We currently use IzPack, because it does all of the above, except the latter: It cannot easily detect previously installed version of the software. Are there any other packages out there which fit the bill? Thank you!

  • WF4 workflow versioning using WorkflowServiceHost

    - by rwwilden
Related to this question. I understand how to implement versioning of workflows using WorkflowApplication. If you keep the original XAML definition for older versions of your workflow around, you can load them using the right WorkflowApplication constructor. How could you ensure that WorkflowServiceHost uses the correct workflow definition when you want to host your workflows in IIS? There is a WorkflowServiceHost constructor that you can use to load a workflow definition, but when you are hosting inside IIS through a XAMLX file, you do not call WorkflowServiceHost yourself, this is handled somehow by IIS. So how do I ensure that the correct workflow definition is loaded for the right version of my workflow?

  • SYSTEM_HANDLE_INFORMATION structure

From where does this structure originates? I know that it is declared in famous ntdll.h and is a part of undocumented windows API. But isn't it vary between different versions of windows? Is there a way to dump this structure from working system? I tried 'dt SYSTEM_HANLDE_INFORMATION' in Windbg and 'type SYSTEM_HANLDE_INFORMATION' in SoftIce but all I get is 'no such symbol' message. I also dumped ntoskrnl.pdb with PdbDump.exe and searched among the dumped structures - and could not find neither SYSTEM_HANLDE_INFORMATION nor SYSTEM_HANLDE. Could you help me?

  • Problem with cvCreateVideoWriter in OpenCv. Again )

    - by lyuba
I know, that the issue had been widely discussed before, but after 5 hours of inefficient googling I guess I deserve to ask :) By the way, all such problems concerned earlier versions of OpenCV, so.. I've compiled fresh OpenCV 2.1. from source under Ubuntu 9.10. It works fine except of cvCreateVideoWriter, which returns null to the following request: CvVideoWriter *writer = cvCreateVideoWriter("video.avi", CV_FOURCC('M','J','P','G'), fps, size, 0); I've walked through the OpenCv folders - it even seems to have ffmpeg inside. I've also installed it on the system to make sure. I've changed CV_FOURCC('M','J','P','G') to -1 - all worthless. I would appreciate your help soo much! P.S. I've also explored some new way for writing videos here: http://opencv.willowgarage.com/documentation/cpp/reading_and_writing_images_and_video.html#videowriter But it fails to work as well, showing the mistake: error: no match for ‘operator>>’ in ‘writer >> frame’ My code is here: http://pastie.org/984734

Some Eclipse plugins are mandated by your environment. The appropriate source code management plugin, for example - and I'm not interested in those. Some provide useful enhancements, but in a specific niche. I'm not interested in those. Some are great, but cost money. I'm not interested in those. Some were really useful on older versions of Eclipse, but are now part of the core build of the latest Eclipse version (3.4 as I write this). I'm not interested in those. I want advice on which plugins every Java SE developer should be installing, one per answer please.

Hello Guys I'm using Gilead to persist my entities in my GWT project, im using hibernate annotations aswell. my problem is on my onetomany association.this is my User class that holds a reference to a list of FileLocations @Entity @Table(name = "yf_user_table") public class YFUser implements Serializable { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO) @Column(name = "user_id",nullable = false) private int userId; @Column(name = "username") private String username; @Column(name = "password") private String password; @Column(name = "email") private String email; @OneToMany(cascade = CascadeType.ALL, fetch = FetchType.LAZY) @JoinColumn(name="USER_ID") private List fileLocations = new ArrayList(); This is my file location class @Entity @Table(name = "fileLocationTable") public class FileLocation implements Serializable { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO) @Column(name = "locationId", updatable = false, nullable = false) private int ieId; @Column (name = "location") private String location; @ManyToOne(fetch=FetchType.LAZY) @JoinColumn(name="USER_ID", nullable=false) private YFUser uploadedUser; When i persist this data in a normal desktop application, it works fine , creates the tables and i can add and store data to it. but when i try to persist the data in my gwt application i get errors i will show them lower. this is my ServiceImpl class that extends PersistentRemoteService. public class TestServiceImpl extends PersistentRemoteService implements TestService { public static final String SESSION_USER = "UserWithinSession"; public TestServiceImpl(){ HibernateUtil util = new HibernateUtil(); util.setSessionFactory(com.example.server.HibernateUtil .getSessionFactory()); PersistentBeanManager pbm = new PersistentBeanManager(); pbm.setPersistenceUtil(util); pbm.setProxyStore(new StatelessProxyStore()); setBeanManager(pbm); } @Override public String registerUser(String username, String password, String email) { Session session = com.example.server.HibernateUtil.getSessionFactory().getCurrentSession(); session.beginTransaction(); YFUser newUser = new YFUser(); newUser.setUsername(username);newUser.setPassword(password);newUser.setEmail(email); session.save(newUser); session.getTransaction().commit(); return "Thank you For registering "+ username; } this is the error that im am getting. the error goes away when i remove my onetoManyRelationship and builds my session factory when i put it in , it on the line of buildsessionfactory in hibernate Util that it throws this exception. my hibernate util class is ok also. this is the error java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: javax.persistence.OneToMany.orphanRemoval()Z Mar 24, 2010 10:03:22 PM org.hibernate.cfg.annotations.Version <clinit> INFO: Hibernate Annotations 3.5.0-Beta-4 Mar 24, 2010 10:03:22 PM org.hibernate.cfg.Environment <clinit> INFO: Hibernate 3.5.0-Beta-4 Mar 24, 2010 10:03:22 PM org.hibernate.cfg.Environment <clinit> INFO: hibernate.properties not found Mar 24, 2010 10:03:22 PM org.hibernate.cfg.Environment buildBytecodeProvider INFO: Bytecode provider name : javassist Mar 24, 2010 10:03:22 PM org.hibernate.cfg.Environment <clinit> INFO: using JDK 1.4 java.sql.Timestamp handling Mar 24, 2010 10:03:22 PM org.hibernate.annotations.common.Version <clinit> INFO: Hibernate Commons Annotations 3.2.0-SNAPSHOT Mar 24, 2010 10:03:22 PM org.hibernate.cfg.Configuration configure INFO: configuring from resource: /hibernate.cfg.xml Mar 24, 2010 10:03:22 PM org.hibernate.cfg.Configuration getConfigurationInputStream INFO: Configuration resource: /hibernate.cfg.xml Mar 24, 2010 10:03:22 PM org.hibernate.cfg.Configuration doConfigure INFO: Configured SessionFactory: null Mar 24, 2010 10:03:22 PM org.hibernate.cfg.search.HibernateSearchEventListenerRegister enableHibernateSearch INFO: Unable to find org.hibernate.search.event.FullTextIndexEventListener on the classpath. • Multiple calls with Simple Modal OSX Style Dialog

    - by Brad Langdon
I am using Simple Modal, the OSX style version. I have two calls to the modal and therefore two versions of content. When either of the buttons is clicked it selects only the first lot of content. There is nowhere to put a hook on the content like most modal windows as there is no javascript on the page to add parameters... only an external .js file which I don't want to touch for obvious reasons. Can anyone help me with this problem? Click here to view the page
