• Objective-C: How to replace HTML entities?

  Hi, I'm getting text from Internet and it contains html entities (i.e. &oacute; = ó). I want to show this text into a custom iPhone cell. I've tried to use a UIWebView into my custom cell but I prefer to use a multiline UILabel. The problem is I can't find any way of replacing these HTML entities.

  On my current system i dont have root-access and i want to install sqlite3-ruby. I can compile it and i know how to set custom install-folder, but how does my ruby-installation can recognize/find that installed gem for usage?   I found a tutorial on the net that uses the stringWithContentsOfURL command that is now deprecated as of iPhone OS 3.0. Reading MKReverseGeocoder Class Reference I noticed that The Google terms of service require that the reverse geocoding service be used in conjunction with a Google map; take this into account when designing your application's user interface. so I'm wondering if (and eventually how) can I reverse geocode user current location on iPhone OS SDK 3.1.3. I thought using Google Maps API but the EULA has the same obligation. Yahoo Maps API is even worse and Microsoft one aren't free.

  I have been searching on the web to see if I can use GoogleMaps with the JXMapViewer. According to this, it is illegal, but the article is more than three years old. Could anyone be kind enough to tell me if I can use GoogleMaps with the JXMap viewer? I know that Google has recently allowed desktop applications to use their static maps provided that the application is freely accessible to people on some website. • Dynamic tab width in a Flex 4 TabBar component with skin

  Hi, I have a Flex 4 TabBar component with a custom skin. In this skin, the item renderer is defined with an ButtonBarButton with a custom skin. All the tabs in the itemrenderer have now the same width. The client however wants me to make the tabs width dynamically, so a smaller tab for a smaller label, a bigger one for a long label. Does anybody know how to adjust the width of Tab (ButtonBarButton)? Thanks a million!

• Are tile overlays possible with the iPhone's MapKit

  I already have a tile source set up for use with the Google Maps JavaScript API. I am trying to translate this for use with the iPhone MapKit. I have correctly implemented the javascript zooming levels into mapkit. Whenever - (void)mapView:(MKMapView *)mapView regionDidChangeAnimated:(BOOL)animated is called, I snap the region to the nearest zoom level based on the same center point. Is it possible to implement a solution possibly with CATiledLayer to implement a tiling solution. Does the iPhone use the standard 256x256 tiles like google maps does natively? Any direction or help on this would be greatly appreciated. I would rather not waste a couple weeks trying to implement this if it's not possible.

• How do you adjust the frame or vertical alignment of a UIBarButtonItem contained by a UIToolbar inst

  Horizontal positioning of UIBarButtonItems is no problem, I can simply pad the space with fixed/flexible space items. However, I can't seem to adjust the toolbar item vertically. UIToolbar has no alignment property, and UIBarButtonItem has no way of setting its frame. I need to do this because we're using a mix of custom icons created using initWithImage, and standard icons created with initWithBarButtonSystemItem. The custom icons aren't being centered properly (they're offset upwards, relative to the system icons, which are centered properly), so the toolbar looks awkward.

  I'm trying to create a vertical toggle switch control for the iPhone (along the lines of UISwitch but vertical sliding). I was wondering whether an existing control already existed or if there are any good tutorials that explain the basics of creating custom controls for the iPhone. Currently I've tried using affine transforms to create the vertical switch from a basic UIswitch, and it works except that the slider is too small compared to the slider track, thus I'm looking for information on writing custom controls.   Im currently looking into an easy way to query and store Latitude/Longitude for a given address. There are a plentitude of services out there, but none actually allows me to store the data I retieve (i.e. Google Maps API TOS, Yahoo! Maps API TOS). As I wan't to use them for a distance search I can't really query the data on the fly. Are there any services that acutally allow to store the location you get for an adress? And I want to do it more or less worldwide. (As a side question, I might need the other way around soon, getting from latitude/longitude to an address or place name, but this falls under the same terms as the above).

  I have created a custom Treeview control and am trying to access the HierarchicalDataTemplate resource of this control from another window in the same project. I have placed <ResourceDictionary Source="/Controls/TreeView/Themes/Generic.xaml"/> into my App.xaml file. Everytime I run, I get an error saying that it can not find the resource key "scene" - the name of the HierarchicalDataTemplate from my custom control. How can I access this template? Thanks

  I'm using a custom pixel font on the iPad SDK, and I'm trying to find a way to disable font anti-aliasing for UIFont. Pixel fonts usually work best when they don't have Anti-aliasing. I disable it easily in Photoshop when I create static resources, but this time I need a dynamic output with the custom font. Any ideas? Thanks.

We will provide them with a large number of feature classes, but users will effectively author their own maps, map symbologies, etc. Furthermore, they will create and edit their own feature classes, which they can both map and share with other users. The model for AGS map services seems to be: author a map in ArcMap, save an MXD/MSD, publish. I'm struggling to understand how this can help us build a dynamic web mapping platform as described above. Can anyone offer some tips on how to go about it?

• Prevent Apache from logging 404 Errors, logging all other errors

  I would like to disable 404 errors from appearing in my Apache error logs. The reason for this is that I have a custom page that handles 404 errors, performing any necessary redirects. If no valid redirect is found in this 404 page, then a nice page appears and the url and other information are logged by the script. Because of this, I do not need 404 errors in my Apache error log. Is there any way to just disable 404s short of doing a custom pipe?

  I'm trying to enable the overlay to be modal. It works perfectly fine in FireFox, but the window object is behind the mask when it becomes modal. This prevents any interaction with it and the page is actually useless. I've tried debugging this for a while and can't figure it out.   Hello If I have a JSF backing bean return an object of type ArrayList, I should be able to use to iterate over the elements in the list. Each element contains a map and although the question of how to access the map content through JSTL has been answered here, if I pass an array of such maps, I can't find how to iterate over them and still access the map content using JSTL. There's documentation which refers to simple iterators but not to those whose items are themselves maps. BalusC, I'm not trying to force the issue, just that I've been looking at this all day, and still cannot seem to be able to output the contents of my data structure through jsp (only on the console). This as a separate question still has merit. If anyone can give me a simple example of how a java List is iterated over in JSP I'd be massively appreciative. Mark
