  • Any good libraries for parsing JSON in Classic ASP?

    I've been able to find a zillion libraries for generating JSON in Classic ASP (VBScript) but I haven't been to find ANY for parsing. I want something that I can pass a JSON string and get back a VBScript object of some sort (Array, Scripting.Dictionary, etc) Can anyone recommend a library for parsing JSON in Classic ASP?

  • Does Marshal.ReleaseComObject call the garbage collector ?

    Hi, I was asked this question today by a colleague, and couldn't find any clue on the Internet... Can someone tell me if calling Marshall.ReleaseComObject()directly calls the garbage collector ? As I understand it, it only removes COM references, and then the G.C. cleans memory on its next pass, but I can be mistaken... Thanks in advance for your help!

    I like to use wcf (windows communication foundation) with windows authentication. Do I need Active directory for this purpose? How the server knows about the identity of the client? If someone can found out the pass of the client that is using the wcf services, can he create the same user name on different computer and use the password to access the wcf services ?     Hi, In .NET is it possible to get the HttpContext of the current page from within an external class? So, for example in my page test1.aspx codebehind I've got: Dim blah As New FeedWriter() blah.Run() But inside FeedWriter.vb, can I get the HttpContext of test1.aspx? Or would I have to pass it in to Run()? (I'm unwilling to do the latter because FeedWriter implements an interface which will need to be re-written if it's to take arguments) Cheers, Matt

I have also tried to register the silverlight control with the following code: <%@ Register Assembly="System.Web.SilverLight" Namespace="System.Web.UI.SilverLightControls" TagPrefix="asp" % but it did not work.I want to do this, so that I would able to pass parameter to silverlight control from my aspx page. How should I register the silverlight user control in my aspx page?I am using silverlight 3.0 version.

    Hi, I have a function that will get a JSON array with objects. In the function I will be able to loop through the array, access a property and use that property.     Why browser vendors make their own css properties, even they know these will not pass the w3c validation?     I'm attempting to upload a file like this: import pycurl c = pycurl.Curl() values = [ ("name", "tom"), ("image", (pycurl.FORM_FILE, "tom.png")) ] c.setopt(c.URL, "http://upload.com/submit") c.setopt(c.HTTPPOST, values) c.perform() c.close() This works fine. However, this only works if the file is local. If I was to fetch the image such that: import urllib2 resp = urllib2.urlopen("http://upload.com/people/tom.png") How would I pass resp.fp as a file object instead of writing it to a file and passing the filename? Is this possible?

  • Splitting a test to a set of smaller tests

    I want to be able to split a big test to smaller tests so that when the smaller tests pass they imply that the big test would also pass (so there is no reason to run the original big test). I want to do this because smaller tests usually take less time, less effort and are less fragile. I would like to know if there are test design patterns or verification tools that can help me to achieve this test splitting in a robust way. I fear that the connection between the smaller tests and the original test is lost when someone changes something in the set of smaller tests. Another fear is that the set of smaller tests doesn't really cover the big test.     The reason I asked this question is that I wanted to create a helper class for Remoting instantiation, and wanted to pass the appropriate app.exe.config (or web.config) file path to the RemotingConfiguration.Configure method, depending on the caller. Is there a way I could get the name of the config file for both Win and Web apps without checking if the application is Web or WinForms?

    I am trying to add a few extra methods to a matrix type from the pysparse library. Apart from that I want the new class to behave exactly like the original, so I chose to implement the changes using inheritance. However, when I try from pysparse import spmatrix class ll_mat(spmatrix.ll_mat): pass this results in the following error TypeError: Error when calling the metaclass bases cannot create 'builtin_function_or_method' instances What is this causing this error? Is there a way to use delegation so that my new class behaves exactly the same way as the original?

    I have declared AdoConnection : TADOConnection; and successfully connected to the default "mysql" database (so, no need to pass that code). Now, taking baby steps to learn, I would like to AdoConnection.Execute('SHOW DATABASES', cmdText); which seems to work ok, in the sense that it doesn't throw an exception, but I am such a n00b that I don't know how I can examine the result of the command :-/ Halp!

    Is there a way in an XML schema to specify that an element may contain either an empty string or a decimal? If I specify the type as xs:decimal like this: <xs:element name="Sample" type="xs:decimal" /> then a blank value would not pass validation: <Sample/> (I realize that the best way to indicate no value would be to not include the element, but I was wondering if there was a way to allow blank or decimal.)
