    I have an app where users have a role,a username,faculty and so on.When I'm looking for a list of users by their role or faculty or anything they have in common I can call (among others possible) @users = User.find_by_role(params[:role]) #or @users = User.find_by_shift(params[:shift]) So it keeps the system Class.find_by_property So the question is: What if at different points users lists should be generated based on different properties.I mean: I'm passing from different links params[:role] or params[:faculty] or params[:department] to my list action in my users controller.As I see it all has to be in that action,but which parameter should the search be made by?

So I started looking in the Internet Options to see if I could change it, but I couldn't find the right option. There's no clear way to add Google from this screen and when I clicked: Find more search providers..., you get taken to IE Gallery where Google isn't even listed.     I didn't notice what and when happend but from some moment replacing stopped work in Word. Just imagine that I have a text block: Some text block And I select the word text: Some text block After that I press some key, for example, 'A'. And I expect to see Some A block because selected area should be replaced (as usual). But instead of that I see: Some Atext block Inserted text is just appended as prefix. Could anyone help me with this issue, please?

    We used to be able to add a custom search provider in Internet Explorer to search any site that put search words in the query string (such as in StackExchange sites). The page where that it was done was http://www.ieaddons.com/gb/createsearch.aspx However, this page now redirects to a generic IE Gallery page. When I upgraded from IE8 to IE9, my StackOverflow provider carried over, but I recently reset my browser settings and am not able to get it back. Can we easily create a custom search provider?

  • iPhone: How to Display Text from UIWebView HTML Document in a UITextView

    I have an RSS feed that gets arranged in a UITableView which lets the user select a story that loads in a UIWebView. However, I'd like to stop using the UIWebView and just use a UITextView or UILabel. This png is what I am trying to do (just display the various text aspects of a news story): I have tried using: NSString *myText = [webView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString:@"document.documentElement.textContent"]; and assigning the string to a UILabel but it doesn't work from where I am implementing it in webViewDidFinishLoad (--is that not the proper place?). I get a blank textView and normal webView. If I overlay a UITextView on top of a UIWebView on its own (that is, a webView that just loads one page), the code posted above works displays the text fine. The problem arises when I try to process the RSS feed . I've been stuck wondering why this doesn't work as it should for a few days now. If you have a better, more efficient way of doing it then placing the code in webViewDidFinishLoad, please let me know! Does it go in my didSelectRowAtIndexPath? Thank you very much in advance!

    hello, I have a TextBox in StatusBar in wpf which i want to update. I have a list of files in ListBox. On each file I would be doing some operation by calling say method ProcessFile(). So whenever the file processing is completed I want to show that file's name in the StatusBar text.     I have a Radgrid with 2 Textboxes and 2 DatePickers. The idea is that I have a grid with a Property name, value, valid from and until. I'm filling the first Textbox myself, the user has to fill in the value, from and until. Filling in the propertynames: (In the pageload) foreach (String s in testProperties) { DataRow dr = dt.NewRow(); dr[0] = s; dr[1] = ""; dr[2] = ""; dr[3] = ""; dt.Rows.Add(dr); } When the user hit "Save" I have to read out all the data he filled in. When i read out the data all my 'str' have the value "" instead the data that the user fills in. Question is, how comes my values in the texboxes remain ""? Or is their a better way to read out the data?

  • Positioning Layers and text gradients with css

    I'm a CSS newbie trying to get some text gradients going on. I tried this code here but it didn't work for me, most likely because the h1 object is nested within a #header div. I imagine there's something to do with layers that I don't know about. Either I get a gradent block that is in front of everything or it's not appearing at all.   • Extra text shown on oveflow: hidden

    I'm keeping the main content area of the webpage small, so that footer navigation can be seen "above the fold". This is done by javascript setting the main content <div> thus: sec.style.height = '265px'; sec.style.overflow = 'hidden'; And then using javascript to insert a button to change the style back to normal: sec.style.height = 'auto'; The problem is that the cut-off point of 265px (dictated by the size of an image which I don't want to hide) doesn't quite match the gap between lines of text. This means that there the tops of tall letters show as funny little marks. Is there any way to hide text which is partially showing in a <div style="overflow: hidden;">?   • using text and ntext SQL Datatypes in RPG

    I'll preface this with saying that I'm a .NET developer, and am NOT an RPG developer. I'm working with one of our RPG developers to come up with a solution, so any suggestions you provide will get passed to him. We have a scenario where we want our iSeries to read from a SQL Server database. One of the columns is a TEXT column. IN RPG, there is no equivalent data type to use for this. We've gone back and forth on this, and our current plan is to change course, and have our SQL Server write out a text file, which the iSeries can pick up and parse. This is, however, a last resort option, as the data in the file is sensitive, and we'd like to avoid the additional security overhead. We've already got the SQL Server locked down as tight as possible (one user only has read access to this, and that user is an iSeries user.) We don't want to have to worry about transferring files back and forth. However, at this point, we see no other option. We have no in-house Java developers, and need to do this in RPG. So I'm wondering if there are any RPG developers out there who have faced this situation and have any advice.

    Hi , I have a perl client which is calling a http restlet service (put method). Some of the parameters in this call contain japanese text. when I printed the contents of these request parameters in the restlet service I found these chars garbled ! This is my PERL client code: my %request_headers = ( 'DocumentName' => $document_name, --> This name is a JAPANESE String 'DocumentDescription' => 'Test Japanese Chars', 'content-length' => 200, 'Content-Type' => 'application/octet-stream; charset=utf-8', 'User-Agent' => "JPCharTester", ); $s-write_request('PUT', '/test-document/TEST/TEST_DOCUMENT' , %request_headers, $content); in this call both the values of $context and $document_name are JAPANESE Strings. But ONLY the document_name is received as garbled in my backend service. Ruby is irrelevant here, but it would be nice to see an answer with it. The markup looks like the following: <h5>foo</h5> <table> <tbody> </tbody> </table> <h5>bar</h5> <table> <tbody> </tbody> </table> <h5>meow</h5> <table> <tbody> </tbody> </table> I need to change just the first <h5>foo</h5> block of each text to <h2>something_else</h2> while leaving the rest of the string alone. Can't seem to get the proper PCRE regex, using Ruby.

    I have just over 1500 html pages (1.html to 1500.html). I have written a code using Beautiful Soup that extracts most of the data I need but "misses" out some of the data within the table. For some reason my code does not pull out all the required data but "misses" some data, e.g the Address1 and Address 2 data at the start of the table do not come out. I modified the code to put in * and === separators, I then use perl to put into a clean csv file, unfortunately I'm not sure how to work my code to get all the data I'm looking for!

  • rails i18n - translating text with links inside.

    Hi there! I'd like to i18n a text that looks like this: Already signed up? Log in! Note that there is a link on the text. On this example it points to google - in reality it will point to my app's log_in_path. I've found two ways of doing this, but none of them looks "right". The first way I know involves having this my en.yml: log_in_message: "Already signed up? <a href='{{url}}'>Log in!</a>" And in my view: <p> <%= t('log_in_message', :url => login_path) %> </p> This works, but having the <a href=...</a> part on the en.yml doesn't look very clean to me. The other option I know is using localized views - login.en.html.erb, and login.es.html.erb. This also doesn't feel right since the only different line would be the aforementioned one; the rest of the view (~30 lines) would be repeated for all views. It would not be very DRY. I guess I could use "localized partials" but that seems too cumberstone; I think I prefer the first option to having so many tiny view files. So my question is: is there a "proper" way to implement this?
