  • Are there any conceptual drawbacks to building a web app with C++ and MySQL?

    - by jnthnclrk
    I've inherited a pretty interesting project where there is a good opportunity to take an existing piece of software and turn it into a SaaS web app. As the project is inherited, the code base/ framework is already defined as C++ and MySQL. The app itself is compiled and run as an EXE on Windows Server. The UI is web based and the app works as a kind of server. From what I do know of modern web apps, this is perhaps an unusual choice. These days, most people seem to opt for a PHP framework or Ruby on Rails. Certainly that is the impression I get from reading blogs on the subject. So, I'm very interested to know if a C++ EXE backed by MySQL is a solid foundation for a web app, or whether we should be looking to build in another way?

  • WCF Data Service BeginSaveChanges not saving changes in Silverlight app

    - by Enigmativity
    I'm having a hell of a time getting WCF Data Services to work within Silverlight. I'm using the VS2010 RC. I've struggled with the cross domain issue requiring the use of clientaccesspolicy.xml & crossdomain.xml files in the web server root folder, but I just couldn't get this to work. I've resorted to putting both the Silverlight Web App & the WCF Data Service in the same project to get past this issue, but any advice here would be good. But now that I can actually see my data coming from the database and being displayed in a data grid within Silverlight I thought my troubles were over - but no. I can edit the data and the in-memory entity is changing, but when I call BeginSaveChanges (with the appropriate async EndSaveChangescall) I get no errors, but no data updates in the database. Here's my WCF Data Services code: public class MyDataService : DataService<MyEntities> { public static void InitializeService(DataServiceConfiguration config) { config.SetEntitySetAccessRule("*", EntitySetRights.All); config.SetServiceOperationAccessRule("*", ServiceOperationRights.All); config.DataServiceBehavior.MaxProtocolVersion = DataServiceProtocolVersion.V2; } protected override void OnStartProcessingRequest(ProcessRequestArgs args) { base.OnStartProcessingRequest(args); HttpContext context = HttpContext.Current; HttpCachePolicy c = HttpContext.Current.Response.Cache; c.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.ServerAndPrivate); c.SetExpires(HttpContext.Current.Timestamp.AddSeconds(60)); c.VaryByHeaders["Accept"] = true; c.VaryByHeaders["Accept-Charset"] = true; c.VaryByHeaders["Accept-Encoding"] = true; c.VaryByParams["*"] = true; } } I've pinched the OnStartProcessingRequest code from Scott Hanselman's article Creating an OData API for StackOverflow including XML and JSON in 30 minutes. Here's my code from my Silverlight app: private MyEntities _wcfDataServicesEntities; private CollectionViewSource _customersViewSource; private ObservableCollection<Customer> _customers; private void UserControl_Loaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { if (!System.ComponentModel.DesignerProperties.GetIsInDesignMode(this)) { _wcfDataServicesEntities = new MyEntities(new Uri("http://localhost:7156/MyDataService.svc/")); _customersViewSource = this.Resources["customersViewSource"] as CollectionViewSource; DataServiceQuery<Customer> query = _wcfDataServicesEntities.Customer; query.BeginExecute(result => { _customers = new ObservableCollection<Customer>(); Array.ForEach(query.EndExecute(result).ToArray(), _customers.Add); Dispatcher.BeginInvoke(() => { _customersViewSource.Source = _customers; }); }, null); } } private void button1_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { _wcfDataServicesEntities.BeginSaveChanges(r => { var response = _wcfDataServicesEntities.EndSaveChanges(r); string[] results = new[] { response.BatchStatusCode.ToString(), response.IsBatchResponse.ToString() }; _customers[0].FinAssistCompanyName = String.Join("|", results); }, null); } The response string I get back data binds to my grid OK and shows "-1|False". My intent is to get a proof-of-concept working here and then do the appropriate separation of concerns to turn this into a simple line-of-business app. I've spent hours and hours on this. I'm being driven insane. Any ideas how to get this working?

  • WCF app Deployed on Win7 Machine and get connection refused error

    - by Belliez
    I have created a Sync Framework application based on the following sample from microsoft and deployed it to a new Windows 7 machine for testing. The app runs ok but when I attempt to communicate I get the following error: Could not connect to http://localhost:8000/RelationalSyncContract/SqlSyncService/. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8000. I am wondering if there is something I am missing. This is my first experience using WCF and followed microsoft sample code. I have disabled the firewall and opened port 8000 for both TCP and UDP. Not sure what to look at next. Below is my App.config file if this helps: <?xml version="1.0"?> <configuration> <system.web> <compilation debug="true"/> <httpRuntime maxRequestLength="32768" /> </system.web> <!-- When deploying the service library project, the content of the config file must be added to the host's app.config file.     hi, i have written a simple app which would speak out to the user any incoming message. Both programmes seem to work perfectly when i lauched them as two separate pgms , but on keeping them in the same project/package only the speaker programme screen is seen and the receiver pgm doesn't seem to work . Can someone please help me out on it? the speaker pgm is: package com.example.TextSpeaker; import java.util.Locale; import android.app.Activity; import android.content.Intent; import android.os.Bundle; import android.speech.tts.TextToSpeech; import android.speech.tts.TextToSpeech.OnInitListener; import android.view.View; import android.view.View.OnClickListener; import android.widget.Button; import android.widget.Toast; // the following programme converts the msg user to speech public class TextSpeaker extends Activity implements OnInitListener { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ int MY_DATA_CHECK_CODE = 0; public TextToSpeech mtts; public Button button; //public EditText edittext; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); button = (Button)findViewById(R.id.button); //edit text=(EditText)findViewById(R.id.edittext); button.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener(){ @Override public void onClick(View v) { //mtts.speak(edittext.getText().toString(), TextToSpeech.QUEUE_FLUSH, null); Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), "The service has been started\n Every new message will now be read out", Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); } }); Intent myintent = new Intent(); myintent.setAction(TextToSpeech.Engine.ACTION_CHECK_TTS_DATA); startActivityForResult(myintent, MY_DATA_CHECK_CODE); } protected void onActivityResult(int requestcode,int resultcode,Intent data) { if(requestcode == MY_DATA_CHECK_CODE) { if(resultcode==TextToSpeech.Engine.CHECK_VOICE_DATA_PASS) { // success so create the TTS engine mtts = new TextToSpeech(this,this); mtts.setLanguage(Locale.ENGLISH); } else { //install the Engine Intent install = new Intent(); install.setAction(TextToSpeech.Engine.ACTION_INSTALL_TTS_DATA); startActivity(install); } } } public void onDestroy(Bundle savedInstanceStatBundle) { mtts.shutdown(); } public void onPause() { super.onPause(); // if our app has no focus if(mtts!=null) mtts.stop(); } @Override public void onInit(int status) { if(status==TextToSpeech.SUCCESS) button.setEnabled(true); } } and the Receiver programme is: package com.example.TextSpeaker; import android.content.BroadcastReceiver; import android.content.Context; import android.content.Intent; import android.os.Bundle; import android.speech.tts.TextToSpeech; import android.telephony.SmsMessage; // supports both gsm and cdma import android.widget.Toast; public class Receiver extends BroadcastReceiver{ @Override public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) { Bundle bundle = intent.getExtras(); SmsMessage[] msgs = null; String str=""; if(bundle!=null) { // retrive the sms received Object[] pdus = (Object[])bundle.get("pdus"); msgs = new SmsMessage[pdus.length]; for(int i=0;i } } }

  • Android app hanging, sometimes until Force Close / Wait dialog appears

    - by fredley
    I'm making an app that records uncompressed (wav format) audio. I'm using this class to actually record the audio. Currently, my application records fine (I can play the file), however when I click the button to stop the recording, the app hangs for 10 seconds or so, with no log output or any signs of life. Finally it comes round, dumps a load of errors into the log, updates the UI etc. I'm using AsyncTasks to try and avoid this kind of thing but it's not working. Here's my code: //Called on clicks of the record button. rar is the instance of RehearsalAudioRecorder private OnClickListener RecordListener = new OnClickListener(){ @Override public void onClick(View v) { Log.d("Record","Click"); if (recording){ new stopRecordingTask().execute(rar,null,null); startStop.setText("Record"); statusBar.setText("Recording Finished, ready to Encode"); }else{ recording = true; new startRecordingTask().execute(rar,null,null); startStop.setText("Stop"); statusBar.setText("Recording Started"); } } }; private class startRecordingTask extends AsyncTask<RehearsalAudioRecorder,Void,Void>{ @Override protected Void doInBackground(RehearsalAudioRecorder... rs) { RehearsalAudioRecorder r = rs[0]; r.setOutputFile("/sdcard/rarOut.wav"); r.prepare(); r.start(); return null; } } private class stopRecordingTask extends AsyncTask<RehearsalAudioRecorder,Void,Void>{ @Override protected Void doInBackground(RehearsalAudioRecorder... rs) { RehearsalAudioRecorder r = rs[0]; r.stop(); r.reset(); return null; } } In Logcat, I always get output like this, which has me stumped. I have no idea what's causing it (I'm logging the RehearsalAudioRecorder class, and it's being started/stopped correctly by the button clicks. This output occurs after the log output for the button click and correct stop() method call) 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/AudioRecord-JNI(22662): Unable to retrieve AudioRecord object, can't record 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/uk.ac.cam.tfmw2.steg.RehearsalAudioRecorder(22662): Error occured in updateListener, recording is aborted 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/uk.ac.cam.tfmw2.steg.RehearsalAudioRecorder(22662): stop() called on illegal state: STOPPED 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/AudioRecord-JNI(22662): Unable to retrieve AudioRecord object, can't record 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/uk.ac.cam.tfmw2.steg.RehearsalAudioRecorder(22662): Error occured in updateListener, recording is aborted 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/uk.ac.cam.tfmw2.steg.RehearsalAudioRecorder(22662): stop() called on illegal state: ERROR 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/AudioRecord-JNI(22662): Unable to retrieve AudioRecord object, can't record 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/uk.ac.cam.tfmw2.steg.RehearsalAudioRecorder(22662): Error occured in updateListener, recording is aborted 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/uk.ac.cam.tfmw2.steg.RehearsalAudioRecorder(22662): stop() called on illegal state: ERROR ... 10 or more times I've been fiddling with this all day and I'm not getting anywhere, any input would be greatly appreciated. Update I've replace the AsyncTasks with Threads, still doesn't work, the app completely hangs when I click record, despite the fact the Log indicates there's nothing going on in the main thread. Still completely stumped.

Is there a way to disable this functionality, or at least bypass this error? I have already provided implementation for a MultipartWrapperFactory.Class as that has been suggested from searching for this error Thanks

  • .Net Custom Configuration Section and Saving Changes within PropertyGrid

    - by Paul
    If I load the My.Settings object (app.config) into a PropertyGrid, I am able to edit the property inside the propertygrid and the change is automatically saved. PropertyGrid1.SelectedObject = My.Settings I want to do the same with a Custom Configuration Section. Following this code example (from here http://www.codeproject.com/KB/vb/SerializePropertyGrid.aspx), he is doing explicit serialization to disk when a "Save" button is pushed. Public Class Form1 'Load AppSettings Dim _appSettings As New AppSettings() Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click _appSettings = AppSettings.Load() ' Actually change the form size Me.Size = _appSettings.WindowSize PropertyGrid1.SelectedObject = _appSettings End Sub Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click _appSettings.Save() End Sub End Class In my code, my custom section Inherits from ConfigurationSection (see below) Question: Is there something built into ConfigurationSection class that does the autosave? If not, what is the best way to handle this, should it be in the PropertyGrid.PropertyValueChagned? (how does the My.Settings handle this internally?) Here is the example Custom Class that I am trying to get to auto-save and how I load into property grid. Dim config As System.Configuration.Configuration = _ ConfigurationManager.OpenExeConfiguration( _ ConfigurationUserLevel.None) PropertyGrid2.SelectedObject = config.GetSection("CustomSection") Public NotInheritable Class CustomSection Inherits ConfigurationSection ' The collection (property bag) that contains ' the section properties. Private Shared _Properties As ConfigurationPropertyCollection ' The FileName property. Private Shared _FileName As New ConfigurationProperty("fileName", GetType(String), "def.txt", ConfigurationPropertyOptions.IsRequired) ' The MasUsers property. Private Shared _MaxUsers _ As New ConfigurationProperty("maxUsers", _ GetType(Int32), 1000, _ ConfigurationPropertyOptions.None) ' The MaxIdleTime property. Private Shared _MaxIdleTime _ As New ConfigurationProperty("maxIdleTime", _ GetType(TimeSpan), TimeSpan.FromMinutes(5), _ ConfigurationPropertyOptions.IsRequired) ' CustomSection constructor. Public Sub New() _Properties = New ConfigurationPropertyCollection() _Properties.Add(_FileName) _Properties.Add(_MaxUsers) _Properties.Add(_MaxIdleTime) End Sub 'New ' This is a key customization. ' It returns the initialized property bag. Protected Overrides ReadOnly Property Properties() _ As ConfigurationPropertyCollection Get Return _Properties End Get End Property <StringValidator( _ InvalidCharacters:=" ~!@#$%^&*()[]{}/;'""|\", _ MinLength:=1, MaxLength:=60)> _ <EditorAttribute(GetType(System.Windows.Forms.Design.FileNameEditor), GetType(System.Drawing.Design.UITypeEditor))> _ Public Property FileName() As String Get Return CStr(Me("fileName")) End Get Set(ByVal value As String) Me("fileName") = value End Set End Property <LongValidator(MinValue:=1, _ MaxValue:=1000000, ExcludeRange:=False)> _ Public Property MaxUsers() As Int32 Get Return Fix(Me("maxUsers")) End Get Set(ByVal value As Int32) Me("maxUsers") = value End Set End Property <TimeSpanValidator(MinValueString:="0:0:30", _ MaxValueString:="5:00:0", ExcludeRange:=False)> _ Public Property MaxIdleTime() As TimeSpan Get Return CType(Me("maxIdleTime"), TimeSpan) End Get Set(ByVal value As TimeSpan) Me("maxIdleTime") = value End Set End Property End Class 'CustomSection

  • deploy a sinatra app with passenger gives only 404, page not founds. Yet a simple rack app works.

    - by berkes
    I have correctly (or prbably not) installed passenger on apache 2. Rack works, but sinatra keeps giving 404's. Here is what works: config.ru: #app = proc do |env| return [200, { "Content-Type" => "text/html" }, "hello <b>world</b>"] end run app Here is what works too: Running the app.rb (see below) with ruby app.rb and then looking at localhost:4567/about and / restarting the app, gives me a correct hello world. w00t. But then there is the sinatra entering the building: config.ru require 'rubygems' require 'sinatra' root_dir = File.dirname(__FILE__) set :environment, ENV['RACK_ENV'].to_sym set :root, root_dir set :app_file, File.join(root_dir, 'app.rb') disable :run run Sinatra::Application and an app.rb require 'rubygems' require 'sinatra' get '/' do "Hallo wereld!" end get '/about' do "Hello world, it's #{Time.now} at the server!" end This keeps giving 404s. /var/logs/apache2/error.log lists these correctly as "404" with something that worries me: 83.XXXXXXXXX - - [30/May/2010 16:06:52] "GET /about " 404 18 0.0007 83.XXXXXXXXX - - [30/May/2010 16:06:56] "GET / " 404 18 0.0007 The thing that worried me, is the space after the / and the /about. Would apache or sinatra go looking for /[space], like /%20? If anyone knows what this problem relates to, maybe a known bug (that I could not find) or a known gotcha? Maybe I am just being stupid and getting "it all wrong?" Otherwise any hints on where to get, read or log more developers data on a running rack, sinatra or passenger app would be helpfull too: to see what sinatra is looking for, for example. Some other information: Running ubuntu 9.04, apache2-mm-prefork (deb), mod_php5, ruby 1.8.7, passenger 2.2.11, sinatra 1.0

  • Maven building for GoogleAppEngine, forced to include JDO libraries?

    - by James.Elsey
    Hi, I'm trying to build my application for GoogleAppEngine using maven. I've added the following to my pom which should "enhance" my classes after building, as suggested on the DataNucleus documentation <plugin> <groupId>org.datanucleus</groupId> <artifactId>maven-datanucleus-plugin</artifactId> <version>1.1.4</version> <configuration> <log4jConfiguration>${basedir}/log4j.properties</log4jConfiguration> <verbose>true</verbose> </configuration> <executions> <execution> <phase>process-classes</phase> <goals> <goal>enhance</goal> </goals> </execution> </executions> </plugin> According to the documentation on GoogleAppEngine, you have the choice to use JDO or JPA, I've chosen to use JPA since I have used it in the past. When I try to build my project (before I upload to GAE) using mvn clean package I get the following output [ERROR] BUILD ERROR [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [INFO] Failed to resolve artifact. Missing: ---------- 1) javax.jdo:jdo2-api:jar:2.3-ec Try downloading the file manually from the project website. Then, install it using the command: mvn install:install-file -DgroupId=javax.jdo -DartifactId=jdo2-api -Dversion=2.3-ec -Dpackaging=jar -Dfile=/path/to/file Alternatively, if you host your own repository you can deploy the file there: mvn deploy:deploy-file -DgroupId=javax.jdo -DartifactId=jdo2-api -Dversion=2.3-ec -Dpackaging=jar -Dfile=/path/to/file -Durl=[url] -DrepositoryId=[id] Path to dependency: 1) org.datanucleus:maven-datanucleus-plugin:maven-plugin:1.1.4 2) javax.jdo:jdo2-api:jar:2.3-ec ---------- 1 required artifact is missing. for artifact: org.datanucleus:maven-datanucleus-plugin:maven-plugin:1.1.4 from the specified remote repositories: __jpp_repo__ (file:///usr/share/maven2/repository), DN_M2_Repo (http://www.datanucleus.org/downloads/maven2/), central (http://repo1.maven.org/maven2) [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [INFO] For more information, run Maven with the -e switch [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [INFO] Total time: 3 seconds [INFO] Finished at: Sat Apr 03 16:02:39 BST 2010 [INFO] Final Memory: 31M/258M [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Any ideas why I should get such an error? I've searched through my entire source code and I'm not referencing JDO anywhere, so unless the app engine libraries require it, I'm not sure why I get this message.

  • Integrate openid4java to GWT Project

    - by Slyker
    Hi, I created an GWT project in eclipse. Now I tried to implement openId with using the openid4java library. I imported the .jar files via properties--java build path: openid4java-0.9.5.jar lib/*.jar In addition I copied the .jar files into the war/WEB-INF/lib directory. The problem at hand comes up when I call the authenticate() method. Then I get a: HTTP ERROR 500 Problem accessing /openid/openid. • Standalone XULRunner app not loading the Flash player plugin

    - by Rajeesh
    Hi, I have created a standalone XUL application, and I copied "NPSWF32.dll"(flash plugin dll) to the "plugins" folder under the browser. When I launch the application, flash content is not getting displayed. If I set the MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH to the "plugins" directory before launching the application, everything is working as expected. Could someone tell me, what I needs to do in order to load the flash plugin automatically from the "plugins" folder. Thanks, Rajeesh

    Hi everyone, I am trying to run a python script through an application I've written. I found some pages which say that this piece of code is doing it, but I can't figure it out. http://code.google.com/p/android-scripting/source/browse/android/AndroidScriptingEnvironment/src/com/google/ase/locale/LocaleReceiver.java Can someone explain what is going on and how I can edit that to run an arbitrary script file in my project directory?

  • Optimizing tasks to reduce CPU in a trading application

    - by Joel
    Hello, I have designed a trading application that handles customers stocks investment portfolio. I am using two datastore kinds: Stocks - Contains unique stock name and its daily percent change. UserTransactions - Contains information regarding a specific purchase of a stock made by a user : the value of the purchase along with a reference to Stock for the current purchase. db.Model python modules: class Stocks (db.Model): stockname = db.StringProperty(multiline=True) dailyPercentChange=db.FloatProperty(default=1.0) class UserTransactions (db.Model): buyer = db.UserProperty() value=db.FloatProperty() stockref = db.ReferenceProperty(Stocks) Once an hour I need to update the database: update the daily percent change in Stocks and then update the value of all entities in UserTransactions that refer to that stock. The following python module iterates over all the stocks, update the dailyPercentChange property, and invoke a task to go over all UserTransactions entities which refer to the stock and update their value: Stocks.py # Iterate over all stocks in datastore for stock in Stocks.all(): # update daily percent change in datastore db.run_in_transaction(updateStockTxn, stock.key()) # create a task to update all user transactions entities referring to this stock taskqueue.add(url='/task', params={'stock_key': str(stock.key(), 'value' : self.request.get ('some_val_for_stock') }) def updateStockTxn(stock_key): #fetch the stock again - necessary to avoid concurrency updates stock = db.get(stock_key) stock.dailyPercentChange= data.get('some_val_for_stock') # I get this value from outside ... some more calculations here ... stock.put() Task.py (/task) # Amount of transaction per task amountPerCall=10 stock=db.get(self.request.get("stock_key")) # Get all user transactions which point to current stock user_transaction_query=stock.usertransactions_set cursor=self.request.get("cursor") if cursor: user_transaction_query.with_cursor(cursor) # Spawn another task if more than 10 transactions are in datastore transactions = user_transaction_query.fetch(amountPerCall) if len(transactions)==amountPerCall: taskqueue.add(url='/task', params={'stock_key': str(stock.key(), 'value' : self.request.get ('some_val_for_stock'), 'cursor': user_transaction_query.cursor() }) # Iterate over all transaction pointing to stock and update their value for transaction in transactions: db.run_in_transaction(updateUserTransactionTxn, transaction.key()) def updateUserTransactionTxn(transaction_key): #fetch the transaction again - necessary to avoid concurrency updates transaction = db.get(transaction_key) transaction.value= transaction.value* self.request.get ('some_val_for_stock') db.put(transaction) The problem: Currently the system works great, but the problem is that it is not scaling well… I have around 100 Stocks with 300 User Transactions, and I run the update every hour. In the dashboard, I see that the task.py takes around 65% of the CPU (Stock.py takes around 20%-30%) and I am using almost all of the 6.5 free CPU hours given to me by app engine. I have no problem to enable billing and pay for additional CPU, but the problem is the scaling of the system… Using 6.5 CPU hours for 100 stocks is very poor. I was wondering, given the requirements of the system as mentioned above, if there is a better and more efficient implementation (or just a small change that can help with the current implemntation) than the one presented here. Thanks!! Joel

  • Configuration Element Collection Section

    - by Matt
    I would like to set up a custom app configuration element collection section like this <logSectionGroup> <logSection name="Testttt"> <properties name ="Pride"> <pathName="TestingLog.txt"/> <deleteRetention="100"/> <deleteZeroRetention="5"/> <wildcard="*.txt"/> </properties> <properties name ="Adhoc"> <pathName="blah.txt"/> <deleteRetention="70"/> <deleteZeroRetention="3"/> <wildcard="*.*"/> </properties> </logSection> </logSectionGroup> Is this possible? Properties would be the configuration element, and log section would be the configuration element collection. The problem is, I've only seen where you can have multiple instances of a single element instead of multiple elements. <Section name="Section1"> <Section name="Section1"> <SubSection name="SubSection1"> <Item name="Item1" /> <Item name="Item2" /> </SubSection> <SubSection name="SubSection2"> <Item name="Item1" /> <Item name="Item2" /> </SubSection> </Section> When you use GetElementKey() you have it return element "name" in the above example but how would you return 4 different elements like "pathName" "deleteRetention" etc. Here is my Definition for PropElement Public Class PropElement Inherits ConfigurationElement <ConfigurationProperty("pathName", IsRequired:=True)> _ Public Property PathName() As String Get Return CStr(Me("pathName")) End Get Set(ByVal value As String) Me("pathName") = value End Set End Property <ConfigurationProperty("deleteRetention", DefaultValue:="0", IsRequired:=False)> _ Public Property DeleteRetention() As Integer Get Return CStr(Me("deleteRetention")) End Get Set(ByVal value As Integer) Me("deleteRetention") = value End Set End Property <ConfigurationProperty("deleteZeroRetention", DefaultValue:="0", IsRequired:=False)> _ Public Property DeleteZeroRetention() As Integer Get Return CStr(Me("deleteZeroRetention")) End Get Set(ByVal value As Integer) Me("deleteZeroRetention") = value End Set End Property <ConfigurationProperty("wildcard", DefaultValue:="*.*", IsRequired:=False)> _ Public Property Wildcard() As String Get Return CStr(Me("wildcard")) End Get Set(ByVal value As String) Me("wildcard") = value End Set End Property End Class

  • overwrite existing entity via bulkloader.Loader

    - by Ray Yun
    I was going to CSV based export/import for large data with app engine. My idea was just simple. First column of CSV would be key of entity. If it's not empty, that row means existing entity and should overwrite old one. Else, that row is new entity and should create new one. I could export key of entity by adding key property. class FrontExporter(bulkloader.Exporter): def __init__(self): bulkloader.Exporter.__init__(self, 'Front', [ ('__key__', str, None), ('name', str, None), ]) But when I was trying to upload CSV, it had failed because bulkloader.Loader.generate_key() was just for "key_name" not "key" itself. That means all exported entities in CSV should have unique 'key_name' if I want to modify-and-reupload them. class FrontLoader(bulkloader.Loader): def __init__(self): bulkloader.Loader.__init__(self, 'Front', [ ('_UNUSED', lambda x: None), ('name', lambda x: x.decode('utf-8')), ]) def generate_key(self,i,values): # first column is key keystr = values[0] if len(keystr)==0: return None return keystr I also tried to load key directly without using generate_key(), but both failed. class FrontLoader(bulkloader.Loader): def __init__(self): bulkloader.Loader.__init__(self, 'Front', [ ('Key', db.Key), # not working. just create new one. ('__key__', db.Key), # same... So, how can I overwrite existing entity which has no 'key_name'? It would be horrible if I should give unique name to all entities..... • Cross-site request forgery protections: Where do I put all these lines?

    - by brilliant
    Hello, I was looking for a python code that would be able to log in from "Google App Engine" to some of my accounts on some websites (like yahoo or eBay) and was given this code: import urllib, urllib2, cookielib url = "https://login.yahoo.com/config/login?" form_data = {'login' : 'my-login-here', 'passwd' : 'my-password-here'} jar = cookielib.CookieJar() opener = urllib2.build_opener(urllib2.HTTPCookieProcessor(jar)) form_data = urllib.urlencode(form_data) # data returned from this pages contains redirection resp = opener.open(url, form_data) # yahoo redirects to http://my.yahoo.com, so lets go there instead resp = opener.open('http://mail.yahoo.com') print resp.read() Unfortunately, this code didn't work, so I asked another question here and one supporter among other things said this: "You send MD5 hash and not plain password. Also you'd have to play along with all kinds of CSRF protections etc. that they're implementing. Look: <input type="hidden" name=".tries" value="1"> <input type="hidden" name=".src" value="ym"> <input type="hidden" name=".md5" value=""> <input type="hidden" name=".hash" value=""> <input type="hidden" name=".js" value=""> <input type="hidden" name=".last" value=""> <input type="hidden" name="promo" value=""> <input type="hidden" name=".intl" value="us"> <input type="hidden" name=".bypass" value=""> <input type="hidden" name=".partner" value=""> <input type="hidden" name=".u" value="bd5tdpd5rf2pg"> <input type="hidden" name=".v" value="0"> <input type="hidden" name=".challenge" value="5qUiIPGVFzRZ2BHhvtdGXoehfiOj"> <input type="hidden" name=".yplus" value=""> <input type="hidden" name=".emailCode" value=""> <input type="hidden" name="pkg" value=""> <input type="hidden" name="stepid" value=""> <input type="hidden" name=".ev" value=""> <input type="hidden" name="hasMsgr" value="0"> <input type="hidden" name=".chkP" value="Y"> <input type="hidden" name=".done" value="http://mail.yahoo.com"> <input type="hidden" name=".pd" value="ym_ver=0&c=&ivt=&sg="> I am not quite sure where he got all these lines from and where in my code I am supposed to add them. Do You have any idea? I know I was supposed to ask him this question first, and I did, but he never returned, so I decided to ask a separate question here.
