VPN Router drops connections

We are using a Netgear VPN Firewall Router FVS318v3.. We have a DSL connection here at the office, and my users complain of the connection dropping, or locking up on their end.. Latest firmware is installed, rebooting the router doesn't help, no other internet connectivity issues reported anywhere else (ie., no other internet connection problems here, or at their end, except when connecting to the VPN..) Is there anything else I can check to pinpoint this problem? TIA!!!

Rails HABTM Scoping to current subdomain

I have the following associations: class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_and_belongs_to_many :brands, :join_table => 'brands_users' has_and_belongs_to_many :companies, :join_table => 'companies_users' end class Brand < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :company has_and_belongs_to_many :users, :join_table => 'brands_users' end class Company < ActiveRecord::Base has_and_belongs_to_many :users, :join_table => 'companies_users' has_many :brands, :order => :name end While editing a user I am using the checkbox list of brands. So that I can assign users 'access' to brands, the brands that show up are only the brands that belong to the current company (defined by the subdomain [using subdomain_fu]). The problem I am running into is that when using the default HABTM functionality and the checkbox list, upon save, Rails removes ALL user-brand associations, then re-adds just the ones for the form I just submitted.. How do I scope that to only remove associations of brands who belong to the current company, defined in the subdomain?

Ruby class instance variables and inheritance

I have a Ruby class called LibraryItem. I want to associate with every instance of this class an array of attributes. This array is long and looks something like ['title', 'authors', 'location', ...] Note that these attributes are not really supposed to be methods, just a list of attributes that a LibraryItem has. Next, I want to make a subclass of LibraryItem called LibraryBook that has an array of attributes that includes all the attributes of LibraryItem but will also include many more. Eventually I will want several subclasses of LibraryItem each with their own version of the array @attributes but each adding on to LibraryItem's @attributes (e.g., LibraryBook, LibraryDVD, LibraryMap, etc.). So, here is my attempt: class LibraryItem < Object class << self; attr_accessor :attributes; end @attributes = ['title', 'authors', 'location',] end class LibraryBook < LibraryItem @attributes.push('ISBN', 'pages'] end This does not work. I get the error undefined method `push' for nil:NilClass

acl9 and devise don't seem to work well together

I have a user model which is access controlled by ACL9 in userscontroller: ACL9 related stuff before_filter :load_user, :only = [:show] access_control do allow :owner, :of = :user, :to = [:show] end def load_user user = User.find(params[:id]) end in ApplicaitonController I have a rescue_from 'Acl9::AccessDenied', :with = :access_denied def access_denied authenticate_user! # a method from Devise end it is no problem to type in url for sign in page http://localhost:3000/users/sign_in but it is a problem when for example I type in the user page first, which I am to expect to be redirected to sign in page automatically thru the logic above http://localhost:3000/users/1 #= infinite redirect hell. it tries to redirect back to users/1 again(!?) instead of directing to users/sign_in Does anyone have an opinion as to what might be going wrong? I need to find just website in some text and I'm looking for a regular expression able to find out strings like: www.my.home, http://my.site.it But this regular expression should not find strings like: [email protected] or if the website is already inside html tag <a href="http://www.my.site.com/"><span style="font-style: normal;">www.mambo-test.org</span></a> I tried with this one: \b((https?://[^ ])|(www.[^ ])) but it also finds the website in the href and between the tag: <a href="http://www.my.site.com/"><span style="font-style: normal;">www.mambo-test.org</span></a> and I don't know how except this case.

SQL IDENTITY COLUMN

Hey guys i am have an sql table which is basically a statement. Now lest say the records i have in my table have a date and an identity column which is autonumbered and defines the order which the transactions are displayed in the front end to the client. The issue is during an insert some of the data have gone missing and some transactions between two dates are missing. I need to insert the data into the table but i need to insert them between the dates and not at the end of the table.If i do a a normal insert now the data will appear at the end of the table and not at the date i specify because the identity column is autonumbered and cannot be updated. [m1,m2,m3,m4] say, m1.color = blue m2.color = blue m3.color = red m4.color = blue [m1,m2,m4] is the list of balls with the most frequent color My Approach is to do: [m1,m2,m3,m4].group_by{|ball| ball.color}.each do |samecolor| my_items = samecolor.count end where count is defined as class Array def count k =Hash.new(0) self.each{|x|k[x]+=1} k end end my_items will be a hash of frequencies foreach same color group. My implementation could be buggy and i feel there must be a better and more smarter way. any ideas please?

Android Couchdb - libcouch and IPC Aidl Services

I am working on a native CouchdDB app with android. Now just this week CouchOne released libcouch, described as "Library files needed to interact with CouchDB on Android": couchone_libcouch@Github It is a basic app that installs CouchDB if the CouchDB service (that comes with CouchDB if it was installed previously) can't be bound to. To be more precise, as I understand it: libcouch estimates CouchDb's presence on the device by trying to bind to a IPC Service from CouchDB and through that service wants communicate with CouchDB. It always attempts to install CouchDB from the market. This is because it never actually is able to bind to the CouchDBService. As I understand the purpose auf AIDL generated service interfaces, the actual service that intends to offer it's IPC to other applications should make use of AIDL. In this case the AIDL has been moved to the application that is trying to bind to the remote service, which is libcouch in this case. Reviewing the commits the AIDL files have just been moved out of that repository to libcouch. I have a directory /tmp/dir with two types of file names /tmp/dir/abc-something-server.log /tmp/dir/xyz-something-server.log .. .. and /tmp/dir/something-client.log I need append a few lines (these lines are constant) to files end with "client.log" line 1 line 2 line 3 line 4 append these four lines to files end with "client.log" and For files end with "server.log" I needed to append after a keyword say "After-this". "server.log " file has multiple entries of "After-this" I need to find the first entry of "After-this" and append above said four lines keep the remaining file as it is. many to many query for ActiveRecord

I have three data models, Users, Conversations and Lines, where each conversation has many lines and certain participating users, each line has one conversation and one user and each user has many conversations and many lines. I have arranged these in ActiveRecord like this: class Line < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :conversation belongs_to :user end class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_and_belongs_to_many :conversations has_many :lines end class Conversation < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :lines has_and_belongs_to_many :users end If I want to create a new conversation with 4 users, where the users are either found or created inside the users table, how would I go about doing this? I thought I could do: c = Conversation.new c.users.find_or_create_by_username('myUsername') c.save But this will create a new username in the Users table even if that username already exists! (ie. running the above code 3 times will result in Users having 3 rows with 'myUsername' as the username, one for each conversation, rather than three conversations all with the same 'myUsername' entry listed in their associated users) I'm not sure how to search for this kind of information with google - can anyone help?

Hy I am a uber nube to jquery my question is like this: if I have multiple toggle on same page and the div I`m toggleing must be desplayed in the same div. richfaces keepAlive not working

I have a mediaOutput tag which, in its createContent attribute, requires the backing bean to be in a certain state. A list of values, which is filled in an init method, must be available. I therefore added a keepAlive tag for the whole backing bean. I now indeed see the backingBean in stead of some (richfaces) proxy bean, but the filled list is null again. How to make this possible? Ruby on Rails - Currency : commas causing an issue.

Looking on SO, I see that the preferred way to currency using RoR is using decimal(8,2) and to output them using number_to_currency(); I can get my numbers out of the DB, but I'm having issues on getting them in. Inside my update action I have the following line: if @non_labor_expense.update_attributes(params[:non_labor_expense]) puts YAML::dump(params) The dump of params shows the correct value. xx,yyy.zz , but what gets stored in the DB is only xx.00 What do I need to do in order to take into account that there may be commas and a user may not enter .zz (the cents). Some regex and for comma? how would you handle the decimal if it were .2 versus .20 . There has to be a builtin or at least a better way. Accessing NHibernate Repository using ASP.NET Ajax WebMethod

Hi there! on my page I have a save button that gets the values from the form and then saves it in the database using NHibernate. This works using ASP.net postback buttons. I have now added an Ajax WebMethod to make things sleek and quicker. Howver, when trying to access the data in the repository it doesn't seem to get it. I am passing in the correct values, and everything looks the same as when you are using the postback but no Joy! I should point out here that I'm a newbie with NHibernate and I'm working with someone elses code. Here's the code: the main problem is this line: Solution.Entities.Hierarchy.Tag tag = tagRep.Get(tagId); The tagID is fine, but when it does the get no exception is raised it just comes out the method and goes back to the page???? http://pastebin.com/cBTp9pnC Anyone have any ideas? using crypto++ on iphone sdk with pycrypto on app engine

Hi, I'm trying to encrypt http requests using crypto++ and decrypt them with pycrypto on the app engine server end. Using Arc4 encryption, I can successfully encrypt and decrypt on the iphone end but when I try decrypting on app engine, the result is garbled. I thought maybe it has something to do with the encoding of the NSString but am not certain. It's not clear to me if I need to call encode() on the cipher on the server end before decrypting, although that does seem to resolve a failure to decrypt involving ascii values. Acts as Tree with Multiple Models

I've got several models that I'd like to relate together hierarchically. For simplicity's sake, let's say I've got these three: class Group < ActiveRecord::Base acts_as_tree has_many :users end class User < ActiveRecord::Base acts_as_tree belongs_to :group has_many :posts end class Post < ActiveRecord::Base acts_as_tree belongs_to :user end Under the current acts_as_tree, each node can individually can relate hierarchically to other nodes provided they are of the same type. What I'd like is to remove this restriction on type identity, so that SomePost.parent could have a User or a Post as its' parent, and that SomeUser.parent could have another user or a group as its parent. Any thoughts?
