  • Installing ubuntu on inspiron 1720, can I dual boot?

    Can I dual boot ubuntu with on a inspiron 1720 (it is running windows 7). One issue is I don't have space on the c:\ drive, but other partitions have space. Will that cause any issues? This is just to play and learn with, and I don't want to ruin my main windows install doing this. I don't think my laptop is powerful enough for a virtualbox install (only 2gb ram).

Extra info : I want OpenSSH 4.8+ in order to not install an extra library (RSSH) when OpenSSH can already handle it. I need to install a specific program (which fits in my system requirements), which is bundled with a number of other programs on an DVD.     Basically, for every new user we have about 30 different installers that all need to be run manually after an install of windows which is tedious/time consuming. We can't simply ghost/image the computers as they come because of the wide variety of hardware being used (all laptops). What would you suggest to run through all the installers automatically without requiring me to sit and click 'next'.. 'next'.. 'continue'.. 'no dont install msn toolbar please'?

    Just got a CanonMF5880dn and cannot print to it from Suse 11.1 MacBook prints w/o issue ping 192.168.1.103 no problem cups sees it as Canon MF5880/MF5840 PCL at URI socket://192.168.1.103:9100 cups test print appears to submit and complete job but no action from printer Yast also seems to install printer correctly CQue2 also seems to install printer correctly all attempts to print yield same results: Suse indicates job processed correctly and completely but no printing happens. firewall is off http://192.168.1.103 in FF gives me the printer config menus correctly What have I failed to do?

    Hi, Is there any way for me to find the php script that is sending emails. I have apache+php ( no mod_suphp neither suexec ) in a "standard" install, and i want to find out witch php script is sending emails, when i check the logs i just see the uid of the user that's sending the emails ( in my case apache ) but i want to find out the script that's originated the email. Is it possible or i must install suexec or mod_suphp to keep trac of that ? Thks for the help.

I'm trying to accomplish that with Virtual Audio Cable and REAUDIO3. Both tools managed to install a new device on my Windows XP machine, but on Windows Server, no new devices appear. Windows Audio and Plug and Play services are Started and Automatic. ANY ideas are greatly appreciated.
