• Is it possible to make a button on an AlertDialog that doesn't automatically close the dialog?

  I have a simple list view with some check boxes in an alert dialog. I need to option to add a select all/none but you can't bring up the menu in an alert dialog, and I want to do this function from a button. From what I've seen any kind of button (positive, neutral, and negative) all close the dialog regardless. So, is this possible? If no, what alternatives do I have? My last mitigation is to simply create a new view and recreate everything. Is a new view the best solution?

• how to properly use jquery .stop() ?

  Hello! On this page: http://www.arvag.net/old/smsbox.de/ when you hover over "Informationen" and "Über uns" you get sub menu shown. When you move mouse away it hides. Normally i have problem with jquery making queue for every single hover i make, and then i just keeps on animating all those hovers. I tried to implement stop() but just cant get it to work properly. • NAVT WordPress Plugin - Just a quick question

  Hi, I got this plugin and have created my list etc and it's appearing fine. However, I am wondering how I create a list under another list...like the second level part of the list? I'm trying to create a dropdown menu you see. In the admin, when I try and drag the item over, it will only let me put it in the first level, how do I get it to go under a sub-item? I would consult the NAVT blog etc but the documentation is so poor it's a kind of joke. But I guess it IS free :) Many thanks, Michael

• In Word, Programmatically Open New Document Dialog

  I am looking for a way to programatically open the "New Document" dialog in Word 2007. It is the same one you get when you select File-New . You can also open it using the FileNew macro or the "New..." menu command. However, I have been unable to find a way to do this programmatically. I have tried: Application.Run MacroName:="FileNew" and Dialogs(wdDialogFileNew).Show and CommandBars.FindControl(ID:=5746).Execute but both of these open the old dialog, not the new one that word 2007 uses.

• How can I access the bookmarks toolbar using only shortcuts in Firefox 3

  I am not interested in accessing the bookmarks menu or sidebar. The specific goal that I'm trying to accomplish is to be able to easily navigate (using only the keyboard) through the live bookmarks loaded from stack overflow by means of a feed reader and located on my bookmarks toolbar. Notes: I have found an add-on that supposedly does exactly what I need: Bookmark Keys, but unfortunately it doesn't work in firefox 3), and is not being currently maintained. I'm using WinXP at work and Ubuntu 8.04 at home. Edit: changed bookmark keys "not compatible" with firefox 3 to "not working" in firefox 3

• Database of common translated phrases for localization?

  I'd like to localize my app into a few other languages, all of which I can barely order a drink in. Does anyone know of an online resource for translations of common software menu options, messages, etc. into other languages? Given the number of developers (both OSS and closed-source) that deal with localization, and the overlap of resource strings between, it seems like a pretty obvious fit for a wiki or open source package, but I can't seem to find anything like this. I could try to mine the Windows resource files or dig around in resource strings in robust OSS apps like Firefox, but I suspect I'm not the first person to think of this and surely there is a site that I'm just not finding yet. Update: since nothing exists like this that I could find, I started a feeble attempt at an open-source string library.   I have a project that generates text (representing an interface and a class) based on metadata. I would like to take this generated code and insert it as a new class and interface directly into the currently opened solution under a specific project and directory. I will create the menu tool that will generate the class but what I don't know how to do is gain access to the following items from within my custom Visual Studio Extension: Iterate the current solution and find a project to dump the generated code into. Open a new file window within Visual Studio and inject the generated text that comes from my tool directly into that window. Create a new folder in a specific project within the current solution from within my custom extension. EDIT - To clarify I need to open a new file (e.g. Right Click on a Project - Add - New Class) and insert text into it from within my custom Visual Studio Extension. Thanks

• window.beforeunload called twice in Firefox - how to get around this?

  I'm creating a popup window that has a beforeunload handler installed. When the "Close" file menu item is used to close the popup, the beforeunload handler is called twice, resulting in two "Are you sure you want to close this window?" messages appearing. This is a bug with Firefox, and I've reported it here, but I still would like a way to prevent this from happening. Can you think of a sane way of detecting double beforeunload to prevent the double message problem? The problem is that Firefox doesn't tell me which button in the dialog the user elected to click - OK or cancel.

• How to hide a Mono application on the OSX Dock

  I have a Mono application that should not show on the dock, but will occasionally show a window. I want neither menu bar nor dock icon to show for this application. I have my application wrapped in an app bundle, and my info.plist file has the LSUIElement set to "1". This does not seem to be hiding my application from the Dock. I have tried also calling osascript with the following info in a Process.Start: osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to set visible of process "myapp" to false' This returns a System Event error code: -10006. Thus far, I've had no luck finding out what that means. I've also tried all the standard Hide() and Visibility = false stuff inside Mono. Anyone found a workaround for this, or have an idea a direction I can look in? For the most part, working in Mono has been straightforward .Net coding, but this has me stumped.

• Is it feasible to write a Firefox plugin to make use of ActiveX control on Windows?

  I use an ActiveX control called TAPIEx enabling TAPI phone system integration using MS Access 2000 (+Visual Basic). I want to turn this Access database into a web app with the clients running Firefox (all on internal network). Since Firefox doesnt support ActiveX is it feasible for me to write a Firefox plugin that in turn utilizes the ActiveX control? With regard to how plugins work - Would I be able to call 'functions' of the plugin from page script (eg dial call specifying phone number, check if calls in process)? Would adding these functions to the Firefox right click menu 'globally' inside Firefox be easier? Hope you guys can help. Note I'm not a fulltime programmer; I just need to know how steep the learning curve will be or even if my idea is possible! • WCF - WebReferences not working

  At the client end, I have generated a Proxy using SvcUtil.exe and it is working fine. Then I have added a WebReference to the client assembly and calling the same method. But it is not working. My program is running in console mode and the method is suppose to return a string. It is not returning the string. I just see a blank console window. No exception is thrown. And after setting a debug point on the method call I see that, program is halted on the method call for ever. What should I look for to solve the problem? I am using VS2005. And adding the webReference by right-clicking the client project and then clicking "Add Web Reference" pop-up menu.

• jsTree causes that links on whole page are broken

• VS2010 profiler/leak detection

  Anyone know of a profiler and leak detector that will work with VS2010 code? Preferably one that runs on Win7. I've searched here and in google. I've found one leak detector that works (Memory Validator) but I'm not too impressed. For one thing it shows a bunch of menu leaks and stuff which I'm fairly confident are not real. I also tried GlowCode but it's JUST a profiler and refuses to install on win7. I used to use AQtime. It had everything I needed, memory/resource leak detection, profiling various things, static analysis, etc. Unfortunately it gives bogus results now. My main immediate issue is that VS2010 is saying there are leaks in a program that had none in VS2005. I'm almost certain it's false positives but I can't seem to find a good tool to verify this. Memory Validator doesn't show the same ones and the reporting of leaks from VS doesn't seem rational.

• Controlling 3rd party program.

  Hi my program launches a 3rd party program with a few switches to update itself. Once these updates are complete I need to manually click save from the applications menu. This can be done via the keyboard (Alt Gr + M then Alt Gr + S) The application will take several seconds to load at which point the application will open maximised and the save option will be enabled. Can anyone suggest a method or example for doing such a thing? Monitoring a lauched process? Macro? Thanks.

• How can I click a button behind a transparent UIView?

  Let's say we have a view controller with one sub view. the subview takes up the center of the screen with 100 px margins on all sides. We then add a bunch of little stuff to click on inside that subview. We are only using the subview to take advantage of the new frame ( x=0, y=0 inside the subview is actually 100,100 in the parent view). Then, imagine that we have something behind the subview, like a menu. I want the user to be able to select any of the "little stuff" in the subview, but if there is nothing there, I want touches to pass through it (since the background is clear anyway) to the buttons behind it. How can I do this? It looks like touchesBegan goes through, but buttons don't work.

• How do I debug a .NET executable at MSIL-level?

  I have a .NET executable file that I need to debug. I would like to step into it so that it stops on the first instruction and have a visual interface for single-stepping, breakpoints, etc. This seems like it should be easier but I haven't yet found a solution! I read about DbgCLR.exe on the web but I can't find that file on my system or online for the life of me. I also read somewhere that DbgCLR.exe is no longer necessary because Visual Studio can do the same thing. A Visual Studio .NET solution would be great, too! (Maybe there's a menu item that I overlooked?) Either will suit, so long as I can inspect the stack, set breakpoints, etc.

• FileNotFound Exception when using TestDriven.NET and NUnit

  I'm Writing a simple pong game in C# and XNA 4.0 to learn unit testing. The tools used are TestDriven.NET and NUnit, all newest versions. The problem is, if I test the code with VS2010 internal debugger, everything runs fine, but when I use "Run Test(s)" from menu, the application chokes with error: Test 'WindowsGame1.Game1.TestGameMenu' failed: Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Content.ContentLoadException : Error loading "SpaceBackground". File not found. ----> System.IO.FileNotFoundException : Error loading "Content\SpaceBackground.xnb". File not found. (some more below...) So it stops when the first textre is going to be loaded. • Carbide / Symbian C++ - Change Application Icon

  I am using Carbide (just upgraded to 2.0) to develop an S60 3rd Edition application. I would like to know the easiest way to change the icon (both the application icon on the device menu and the icon at the top left of the main view) because I have the need to skin my application in many different ways as easily as possible. All my efforts with messing around with .mif files have so far failed. I have a 44x44 .svg icon I made with Illustrator, could someone please help me in the right direction? Thanks!

• Flash security popup is unclickable on a layered window

  I have a layered (TransparencyKey is set) winform w/ a WebBrowser control on it that navigates to a page that contains flash (swf). Everything works okay except that when flash shows a security popup, none of the buttons on the popup respond to mouse click, so I can't click Allow/Deny. Right-click works but only shows the context menu that is normal to flash. I tried overriding WndProc on the WebBrowser control, as suggested here, but it still does not respond to mouse click. If I comment out the TransparencyKey setting, even w/o the WndProc override, the buttons respond. I thought this'd be a container issue so I decided to host the swf file on the form, using the example here, but this, too, had the same problem w/ layered window. So, is there another way that can get around this problem? What is it w/ layered window that renders the buttons on the flash popup unclickable? What is it w/ flash...?

• (iPhone) Instruments can't "Attach to Process"

  Actually, I'm using a second generation Ipod Touch. What I'm trying to do is to debug my app on XCode and look for any memory leaks on Instruments at the same time. Is it even possible? Because the "Attach to Process" submenu lists when my app is running (or debugging in this case) but all the items inside this menu are disabled. All I can do is start the app from Instruments but later I come across some bug and I want to see the variables and properties affected. I'm also new to Instruments. Please, could someone give me any advice? Help would be greatly appreciated!

• Dropdown Menus In Drupal?

  Hi, I have my Drupal site here so far: selkirk.treethink.net Each Primary Link at the top has a bunch of other primary links under it (sub links) I need to display these sub links when you hover over the parent primary link in a dropdown menu. Everything is in the primary links but there are parents (what you see at the top of the demo) and sub links (what should be in the dropdown). I'm not sure if I set up these menus wrong though...Drupal is a little awkward for me. • Passing switches to Xcode 3.1 user scripts

  I have a user script that would be much more useful if it could dynamically change some of its execution dependent on what the user wanted. Passing simple switches would easily solve this problem but I don't see any way to do it. I also tried embedding a keyword in the script name, but Xcode copies the script to a guid-looking filename before execution, so that won't work either. So does anyone know of a way to call a user script with some sort of argument? (other that the normal %%%var%%% variables) Thanks! EDIT: User scripts are accessible via the script menu in Xcode's menubar (between the Window and Help menus). My question is not about "run script" build phase scripts. My apologies for leaving that somewhat ambiguous.

• Adding Parameters to Zend_Navigation

  I have a problem with Zend_Navigation that I am hoping for a little guidance on. I'm in the process of adding a Zend_Navigation to a legacy app as described [here on SO].1 The thing that I am not sure of is how to add parameters to the navigation menu after the data is loaded from the xml file. What I want to do is get 2 identifying parameters from the url and add them to the Zend_Navigation so that they are included in things such as the breadcrumb bar, so that if a user selects the previous item in the breadcrumb they are returned with the correct params in the url. The parameters, I believe need to be set at the Action level rather than the controller. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

• Plugin or module for filtering/sorting a large amount of data?

  I have a rather large amount of data (100 MB or so), that I would like to present to a user. The format of the data is similar to the following... Date              Location      Log File          Link 03/21/2010   San Diego   some_log.txt   http://somelink.com etc My problem is that I would like to have some nice/slick way for the user to filter the information. Unfortunately, because there is so much of it, the jQuery Table Filter plugin does not work (crashes the browser). I was wondering if there is a nice solution or if I have to simply do the filtering on the server end and have a bland pull-down menu / select-box interface for the client to use.
