But I still can access this directory using a different Samba user than SomeUser. Why is that? And how do I prevent this?

    Someone gained access into my Ubuntu VPS via SSH, they entered rm -Rf / which wiped it and now I can't access it via SSH or SFTP. On SFTP I get the the following error: Error: Connection timed out Error: Could not connect to server And then on SSH, I try to connect to my VPS IP on Port 22, it doesn't come up with anything for ages (it should come up asking for a username) and then a op-up appears saying: Network Error: Connection timed out. Is it possible to fix this, if so, how?

  • Single-port 2600 router with 2900XL switch

    I have a setup, where the single port 2600 router is in port 0/2 in the switch, outside network is on port 0/1, and the rest (0/3-0/24) should be clients for the second network that would be managed by the 2600 router. I configured everything with two VLANs: 100 for outside (0/2-0/24), 200 for inside (0/1-0/2). 0/2 is a trunk port for the two VLANs. The issue that came about is that I can't have two VLANs on at once: software doesn't allow it. Now, I can ping the outside network devices (172.16.7.1, 172.16.7.103), and even google (8.8.8.8) from the router, but not the switch. Devices on connected get a DHCP lease properly but can't ping outside the network, just the router - 172.17.7.1 and the switch itself, 172.17.7.7.     Hello. I have a problem with my first-time ssh connection. Yes, I've already done yours guides, already tried your "Dealing with firewalls and proxies" article and the problem is still occuring. I am using Win7 32bit, Windows Firewall is disabled, haven't any third-party firewalls, ESET Nod32 Antivirus is not blocking any ports, I am not using any PROXY (neither local proxy) .     Our security policy does not permit ftpd on our servers. Our trusted developers use ftps to access our webservers and they have full access to the server. How do we grant limited access to a single untrusted developer for an existing virtual host. Ive configured rssh to only allow sftp to our untrusted developer, but we dont want him browsing around our other sites. I've investigated chroot, but it seems overly complex and more for restricting access to their home folders. I want to limit access to /srv/www/vhostx/ and below. Whats the best solution?

  • Are Ms-PL and Apache License Version 2.0 Compatible?

    I need to use two libraries in a commercial product that i'm developing at work. One library is under the Ms-PL license and the other is under Apache License Version 2.0. I know that Ms-PL is not compatible with GPL according to the FSF, and that the Apache License Version 2.0 is only compatible with GPLv3 (and not with GPLv1 or GPLv2). But i don't know if both licenses are compatible. Any help would be appreciated, even if it is that it is impossible :)

  • Objective-C NSMutableArray Count Causes EXC_BAD_ACCESS

    I've been stuck on this for days and each time I come back to it I keep making my code more and more confusing to myself, lol. Here's what I'm trying to do. I have table list of charges, I tap on one and brings up a model view with charge details. Now when the model is presented a object is created to fetch a XML list of users and parses it and returns a NSMutableArray via a custom delegate. I then have a button that presents a picker popover, when the popover view is called the user array is used in an initWithArray call to the popover view. I know the data in the array is right, but when [pickerUsers count] is called I get an EXC_BAD_ACCESS. I assume it's a memory/ownership issue but nothing seems to help. Any help would be appreciated.     Hi, we have a VSTO outlook add-in we'd like to silently deploy to everyone via AD. I'm signing the App with a "Code signing" certificate (requested certmgr from AD). If I add this certificate to my Trusted Publishers, then I can silently install the signed app via the VSTOInstaller.exe (with the /S switch). We don't want to have to install my certificate as a trusted publisher on everyone's machine - we'd like to be able to say that any code signed by a certificate issued within our AD is trusted. Is there some way to do this?
