    iPhone Application writes data to a text file, saves it on the Documnets folder. Great that works If I place "£" in the string, or use [currencyStyle stringFromNumber] the text file will not be created. The "£" and the [currencyStyle stringFromNumber] works if the information is printed to a "New View" page on the simulator, pound and all Can someone please explain what's happening?

    Hello While trying to understand how a web server worked, I came accross this: //myfile.js function donothing(){}; //myfile.html javascript:donothing(open('http://www.acme.com/whatever.jpg','','left=100, right=0, top=100, scrollbars=no, status=no, titlebar=no, resizable=no, toolbar=no, menubar=no, width=255, height=255')) I'm no JavaScript expert, so I don't get how an empty function can be made to work. I know latency over local wifi is probably fine but what are the issues with latency over GPRS/3G? I've searched and the best I've seen is someone saying it was 'high', without presenting any concrete numbers. I suppose latency fluctuations are important as well - does anyone have any info on this?

I'm not that familiar with the Win32 API in general and so I wanted to ask if someone here who is better in it than me could show me an example for, Retrieving a process handle by its PID required to terminate it and then call TerminateProcess with it.   • Can we call methods of non-static classes without an object in Java?

    In Java, the wrapper class Integer has the static method parseInt() which is used like this: Integer.parseInt(). I thought only methods of static classes could be called like this (ie. Class.doMethod()). All non-static classes need objects to be instantiated to use their methods. I checked the API, and apparently Integer is declared as public final Integer - not static. Someone please help me understand this.

    Could someone explain to me what should two following lines do: s.httpheaderline[s.httpheaderlineptr] = *(char *)uip_appdata; ++((char *)uip_appdata); This is taken from uIP code for microcontrollers. s - structure httpheaderline - http packet presented as a string httpheadrlineptr - integer value uip_appdata - received ethernet packet (string) If some more info is needed please let me know. BTW. Eclipse is reporting an error on the second line with message Invalid lvalue in increment so i'm trying to figure out how to solve this.

    Basic question, sorry. Basically, I have a script that creates a MySQL entry each time someone visits the page. A logging script. However, I want to make it autoprune after, say, 100 visits. For example in pseudo code: if amount of rows > 100 { delete rows 1+ until amount of rows == 100 } So in a nutshell, each time a new row is added after 100, it needs to automatically remove the row with the smallest id (My primary key).

    I'm getting the following line in the disassembly from objdump -d of an x86 linux program... 4000b0: ba 0e 00 00 00 mov $0xe,%edx I'm trying to understand how the machine code "ba 0e 00 00 00" maps to "mov $0xe,%edx" In the manual move immediate 32-bit is: B8 + rd ... MOV r32, imm32 ie "B8" not "BA" In fact none of the MOV opcodes are "BA". If someone could break down "ba 0e 00 00 00" and explain bit-wise how to get to "mov $0xe,%edx" it would be most helpful.
