    I have a MySql database that stores a timestamp for each record I insert. I pull that timestamp into my Android application as a string. My database is located on a server that has a TimeZone of CST. I want to convert that CST timestamp to the Android device's local time. Can someone help with this?

    I have seen different type of js function call like function aTestFunction(param) { // function body } and also: aTestFunction = function(param) { // function body } what is the difference in above to implementaion? Also, i found that jquery/prototype js framework uses the second implementation in most cases. Is there any special reason for that?     I have a treeview control where I am dynamically selecting a node depending on user interaction. when a node is selected I want to be able to have the scrollbar go to the location of that selected node in the tree. The scrollbar is simply made by overflow:auto in the div tag where the treeview is located. Can someone give me some detailed code to accomplish this? Thanks in advance.

  • Can we call methods of non-static classes without an object in Java?

    In Java, the wrapper class Integer has the static method parseInt() which is used like this: Integer.parseInt(). I thought only methods of static classes could be called like this (ie. Class.doMethod()). All non-static classes need objects to be instantiated to use their methods. I checked the API, and apparently Integer is declared as public final Integer - not static. Someone please help me understand this.

    Could someone explain to me what should two following lines do: s.httpheaderline[s.httpheaderlineptr] = *(char *)uip_appdata; ++((char *)uip_appdata); This is taken from uIP code for microcontrollers. s - structure httpheaderline - http packet presented as a string httpheadrlineptr - integer value uip_appdata - received ethernet packet (string) If some more info is needed please let me know. BTW. Eclipse is reporting an error on the second line with message Invalid lvalue in increment so i'm trying to figure out how to solve this.

Can someone help me understand a few points for the screenshot below? What is the root layout used here? How do I get the button bar to remain at the bottom, while the center section scrolls when it is long enough? Similar to the Ok/Cancel buttons seen here, how do I make them each 50% width (minus some margin and padding)?

    Basic question, sorry. Basically, I have a script that creates a MySQL entry each time someone visits the page. A logging script. However, I want to make it autoprune after, say, 100 visits. For example in pseudo code: if amount of rows > 100 { delete rows 1+ until amount of rows == 100 } So in a nutshell, each time a new row is added after 100, it needs to automatically remove the row with the smallest id (My primary key).

    I'm trying to write fully automated unit tests in JavaScript and I'm looking for a way to read some private variables in various JS functions. I thought I recalled a way to inject privileged members into a function/object (and found an overwhelming occurrence of "no such thing as private in JS") and yet I can't find any resources indicating how. I'm trying to read through the properties of .prototype but if there's a way, someone out here would know where to direct me faster than I'd find on my own. Thanks
