• SSRS Export to Excel not working through VPN (Juniper SA4000)

  We have a SharePoint (MOSS 2007 on Win2003 R2) with SSRS reports (from SQL 2005) embedded in it. When we connect to the SharePoint portal through our VPN (firewall is Juniper SA4000) and using Internet Explorer (6, 7, and 8) and try to export any SSRS report under Excel, we get an error message: Internet Explorer cannot download . Internet Explorer was not able to open the internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later. When not using the VPN (LAN from the office), everything (exporting under Excel) works fine. When using Firefox through the VPN, it works fine. When exporting to any other format (pdf or text or whatever), everything is fine under both IE and FF. Our firewall people suspect something in SSRS/MOSS/Office. Our MOSS consultants suspect something in the firewall Juniper SA4000. • jqGrid - Problems opening in jquery tabs (on Firefox and Google Chrome)

  I have developed a very simple MVC app to test out trirand's jqGrid for MVC. The app opens a jqgrid in a jquery tab group and everything is ok with IE. However when I use Firefox jqgrid only opens occasionaly in the first tab (but not under any other tab), and in Chrome my jqgrids dont appear to open under any tab of the group. I'm a bit of an MVC newbie (and have only been testing jqgrid out for a few days), but I know my users will want to use different browsers. Trirand have not come back with any answer so wondered if anyone else had had a similar issue. I have really just implemented jqgrid as per the controllers and model in the sample application on the Trirand site, and then combined it with a straightforward jquery tab group. • fullCalendar className to multiple eventSources

  I am trying to setup my fullCalendar event sources. instead of pulling all of my events through 1 source, I would like to use multiple sources (ie: google, and local json) Here is what I have so far (In short): eventSources: [ //CA HOLIDAYS $.fullCalendar.gcalFeed('http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/en.canadian%23holiday%40group.v.calendar.google.com/public/basic', { className: 'holiday' }), //General events 'events.php?a=getAllCalendarEvents' ], The problem that I am having is, I can get the gCalFeed to have a className, but not exactly sure how to get my other source to have a className... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

• Calling AuditQuerySystemPolicy() (advapi32.dll) from C# returns "The parameter is incorrect"

  The sequence is like follows: Open a policy handle with LsaOpenPolicy() (not shown) Call LsaQueryInformationPolicy() to get the number of categories; For each category: Call AuditLookupCategoryGuidFromCategoryId() to turn the enum value into a GUID; Call AuditEnumerateSubCategories() to get a list of the GUIDs of all subcategories; Call AuditQuerySystemPolicy() to get the audit policies for the subcategories. All of these work and return expected, sensible values except the last. Calling AuditQuerySystemPolicy() gets me a "The parameter is incorrect" error. I'm thinking there must be some subtle unmarshaling problem. I'm probably misinterpreting what exactly AuditEnumerateSubCategories() returns, but I'm stumped. You'll see (commented) I tried to dereference the return pointer from AuditEnumerateSubCategories() as a pointer. Doing or not doing that gives the same result.   I'm attempting to use Microsoft's NATUPnP library to create a port mapping. Unfortunately, I'm unable to. My router supports UPnP, it is enabled, and I can create mappings with other (pre-built) applications. I can also read existing mappings. When I call the Add function, it fails and returns HRESULT 0x80040214 (which is undocumented). I have absolutely no idea what might be going on. IStaticPortMapping* newMapping = NULL; hr = portMappings->Add(27015, L"TCP", 27015, L"MYCOMPUTER", VARIANT_TRUE, L"TestMapping", &newMapping); You can see the reference for this function at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa366148%28v=VS.85%29.aspx. The portMappings object is, of course, valid; I use it earlier in the code to enumerate over the existing mappings. • Giving a child window focus in IE8

  I'm trying to launch a popup window from a Javascript function and ensure it has focus using the following call: window.open(popupUrl, popupName, "...").focus(); It works in every other browser, but IE8 leaves the new window in the background with the flashing orange taskbar notification. Apparently this is a feature of IE8: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms536425%28VS.85%29.aspx It says that I should be able to focus the window by making a focus() call originating from the new page, but that doesn't seem to work either. I've tried inserting window.focus() in script tags in the page and the body's onload but it has no effect. Is there something I'm missing about making a focus() call as the page loads, or another way to launch a popup that IE8 won't hide?

  Hi I have been following this tutorial: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee307987(VS.100).aspx#registering_routes_in_account_and_store_areas and have an application (a bit more complex) like this set up. All the areas are working fine, however I have noticed that if I change the project name of the Accounts project to say Areas.Accounts, that it wont find any of my views within the accounts project due to the Area name not being the same as the project name e.g. the accounts routes.cs file still has this: public override string AreaName { get { return "Accounts"; } } Does anyone know why I would have to change it to this: public override string AreaName { // Needs to match the project name? get { return "Areas.Accounts"; } } for my views in the accounts project to work? I would really like the AreaName to still be Accounts, but for ASP.net MVC to look in the "Views\Areas\Areas.Accounts\" folder when its all munged into one project, rather than trying to find it within "View\Areas\Accounts\" Thanks Mark

  Hi All, I am developing an ASP.NET MVC app and I've been looking into using Data Annotations on my POCO's which are defined in my Service Layer. As long as I have a reference to System.ComponentModel & System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations this is no problem and what I like about this is that it allows me to reuse my Service Layer in a Win Forms app. I'm now looking to do some Remote Validation using Data Annotations and have taken a look at this article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff398048(VS.100).aspx However, to use the Data Annotations in this context I need to reference System.Web.MVC, System.Web and System.Web.Routing. This introduces a dependency on the Web DLL's, which limits me somewhat. Can anyone recommend a good clean way to implement Remote Data Validation using Data Annotations that isn't coupled with ASP.NET MVC or maybe suggest a better alternative. Thanks for the help !

  My website is running on Asp.net v4 , IIS 7 , Windows server 2008. My cpu is running on 20-30% and the site is responding quickly. Every 2-5 mins i'm receiving the following error: Event code: 3001 Event message: The request has been aborted.   I was tring to deploy an ASP.NET Web Application to a Windows Azure Web Site by following the tutorial through this link: https://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/develop/net/tutorials/get-started/ After download the public profile, which is a ".PublishSettings" file, I go back to Visual Studio and right-click the project in Solution Explorer and select Publish from the context menu as the tutorial said. However, a warning box jumped up and it showed me that "The Web Publishing extension is not installed which is required to publish. You can install it from http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=208120." I already installed "Windows Azure SDK for .NET (VS 2012)" and I also tried to uninstall this and install again, but the same problem is still there. Anyone knows how to solve this? I am really appreciated.

• ISAPI Rewrite rule help ( .html -> .aspx )

  Hello, Recently I'm working on a refactor project from asp to asp.net 3.5. There are lots of .html file uses .inc file for the header and footer in the old site, and needed to be converted to .aspx uses master page. My problem is, for search engine and for bookmark those old pages are all gone Therefore I need to redirect the old .html pages to .aspx. I've been trying to find a way to fix that, finally i found ISAPI_Rewrite might be the tool that i can use. After a few hours reading the document on the site, i still have no clue how to write the syntax at all :( Could anyone give a some examples please? ex. rewrite all urls under www.example.com/en to www.example.com/ rewrite all .html to .aspx The server is using Windows 2000, IIS6, ISAPI_Rewrite 3 Lite Thanks in advance ben :)

• WinForms - Localization - UI controls positions different in additional Culture

  Hi, I did my UI settings.Original language is English. After that I set Localizable property to True. Copied original resx file to frmMain.de-De.resx (for example). Translated all strings. Everything works. But now I would like to change positions of controls. After that changes are visible only for original/primary Culture (En). When I change Culture to de-De then UI controls are on the "old positions"(?!) Is this normal behaviour? :O I'm unable to change controls positions on my form after localization? Can someone explain me this and give some best solution. I really have to change UI design but I don't want to manual copy all translated strings again. If my description is not clear then I can post source code, just please let me know. I use VS 2008. Greetz!

  posix does not appear when I run php -m cmd, however, I see it from the phpinfo() –enable-posix=shared on Linux with Plesk 9. • Outlook 2003 View Control with C#

  I want to embed a custom c# windows form (or WPF) user control into an outlook view. I am using Outlook 2003 and Visual Studio 2008. I did download an example for Outlook 2007 here: http://blogs.msdn.com/e2eblog/archive/2008/01/09/outlook-folder-homepage-hosting-wpf-activex-and-windows-forms-controls.aspx and also here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa479345.aspx I tested it and under 2007 it is working, but for 2003 i am getting the following error when i want to open the view: Could not complete the operation due to error 80131509 I can start it from Visual Studio, it is registering the folder just fine, debugging works and all that. It creates an HTML page that contains my type as an object parameter - but the Initialize method that should be called is either not present (not shown via JS) or it has some errors. The breakpoints for RegisterSafeForScripting are also never hit - maybe related to that. Thx in advance!

  I'm looking for info on howto get a google appengine app onto the newly announced google apps marketplace. The page at http://code.google.com/googleapps/marketplace/sso.html does not have a python openid apps-discovery library which seems to be the stumbling block. • AJAX POST problems with CKFinder

  We're using CKFinder for one of our sites, which has been working fine for us until we moved to a new dedicated server (which is similar but not exactly the same as the old server). Now we cant upload, the AJAX request simply never finishes. From monitoring it in Firebug it attempts to POST to here: http://www.site.com/temp/ckfinder/core/connector/php/connector.php?command=FileUpload&type=Files&currentFolder=%2F&hash=4f9cdbbb1e295966&langCode=en&= but never gets a response. This is the same CKFinder install on both WIMP servers, one works fine one doesnt. any idea where we should be looking to fix this problem? php.ini maybe? any help would be great as we havent a clue at this stage. I followed the official page setup and this Screencast from Ryan Bates, but when I try to index the models it gives me this error: $ rake thinking_sphinx:index (in /home/benoror/Dropbox/Proyectos/cotizahoy) Sphinx cannot be found on your system. • Windows "known folders": is there any one of them which is reliably read/write for all users on all

  SHGetKnownFolderPath() and its cohorts accept one of the constants defined here (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd378457%28v=VS.85%29.aspx ), returning the path to a directory. I'm looking for one of these folders which is reliably writable by all users (including LocalSystem) on XP, Vista, and Windows 7... but I think I'm striking out. It appears that, in fact, there is no single location on the hard drive anymore where you can put a file and be assured that all users can write to it on all these OS versions, without fiddling the permissions first. Is this true?
