• POST from a submit button in C#

  I'm not familiar with http stuff, but how would I be able to submit data to a website? There is a submit button that I would like to "press" from a console app. This is not my own website. This is part of the page source, not sure if it has any relevance: <form action="rate.php" method="post"> I looked at the HttpWebRequest class but I am unfamiliar with what properties I need to fill in. • CSS: How to affect OTHER elements when a div is hovered

  I think this is a very basic question but I not sure how/if it can be done. What I want to do is to is a certain div is hovered, affect the properties of another div. For example, in this simple example when you hover over #cube it changes the background-color but what I that when I hover over #container, #cubeis affected. • JSF - Updating Model Values in Controller Bean

  I have a Controller bean (SearchController) that has two managed bean as managed properties (SearchCriteria, SearchResults; both of which are session scoped). When the user hits the find button, the action method that is executed is in SearchController. The SearchCreteria managed bean has a method called search(). This method returns a new SearchResults object. In the controller bean, I am setting the searchResults managed property to be this new SearchResults object. The searchResults object contains what I expect during that request, but the object does not persist in the managed bean. I understand that I am changing what object that searchResults is referencing, but what I don't understand is why JSF isn't updating the model to use the new object. Any ideas what I'm missing or don't understand? I am using JSF 1.1 on WebSphere 6.1. If I put the search method in the SearchResults managed bean, it works.

  I'm using the Generics Collection library C5 (server down :-( ) and I have an IntervalHeap(T) and I need to Delete or Replace a T that is not the Max or Min. How do I get an IPriorityQueueHandle from my T? The C5 library source code shows that IPriorityQueueHandle(T) has no methods or properties to implement and the compiler thinks my implementation of IPriorityQueueHandle(T) for my T is acceptable. I try to use a T like this: q.Replace(t, t); and the C5 library throws an InvalidCastException because it cannot convert my T to a (Handle).

• Best canvas for drawing in wxPython?

  I have to draw a graph of elements composing a topological model of a physical network. There would be nodes and arches, and the latter could be unidirectional or bidirectional. I would like to capture the clicking events for the nodes and the arches (to select the element and show its properties somewhere), and the dragging events for the nodes (to move them around) and arches (to connect or disconnect elements). I've done some research and I've narrowed the alternatives down to OGL (Object Graphics Library) and FloatCanvas. I would not like to go down to the DrawingContext, but it is not discarded if necessary. Which canvas option would you choose?

• Anchors requiring multiple clicks to fire

  'This is bizarre bug. I have CSS3 anchors/buttons, which I've continued to strip properties out of, that sometimes require multiple clicks to fire. I've never seen anything like it. http://votizen.com Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. So it's very tough to pin down. • How do I link a VS2008 C++ project as a DLL instead of a LIB?

  I have the C++ source code in a Visual Studio project from another developer that compiles into a static lib. I need to change it so that it builds a dll from that code so that I can call it from C#. I went into the project properties in Visual Studio and changed the configuration type to a DLL. However, it now gives lots of linker errors like: error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol __CAP_Enter_Function XXXFilter.obj XXXFramework What else do I need to do in Visual Studio and in the code to produce a dll from the code instead of a lib? The library is huge so writing a wrapper is not an option. I have the code so I should be able to make it build a dll. I am not a very experienced C++ dev but I am in C# and visual studio. Thanks

  Do you know how if you drag an <mx:Label> or <s:Label> component into your Flex project, when you go to design mode you get this panel on the right to set its properties like text etc. I have a custom component that I can call with actionscript, or with mxml like this: <comps:TheComp field1="OK" field2="Yes" /> The component takes this input and uses it for its internal operation private var field1:String; private var field2:String; private function initializeit() { // component takes the input and lays it out as needed } When I go to design mode, I can see the component under custom components, I can drag it to the stage and see it, but can't set its values field1 and field visually on the right like a normal <s:Label> or <mx:Label> would have. Any idea how I can add that? Do I need to make it inherit something or anything else

  I have created an windows service. I want to open some windows based application from this service. But my windows service is unable to start desktop applications. To enable the access I had to do the following steps: Opened the administrative tool "Services" Right clicked on my service and had to select "properties" Then in the "Log On" tab, selected "Allow service to interact with desktop". After that my service can open desired windows based processes. Can I configure my windows service in the code (C#) to access the desktop so that I won't have to change the access permission manually after installation?

  Hi, I have a class with a set of properties As given below. class ContactInfo { [ReadOnly(true)] [Category("Contact Info")] public string Mobile { get; set; } [Category("Contact Info")] public string Name{ get; set; } } The objects of this class is being assigned to a property grid, so that the users can update an existing contact. you can see that Mobile is marked as ReadOnly. But, when I want to add an entirely new Contact, I would want the users to be able to edit the contact Mobile also. For that I need to remove the Readonly property dynamically from the Type, before assigning the object to the property grid. Is it possible?

• how do you load files in windows phone 7?

  do you seriously have to make your own content pipeline project for every single type of file you want to load? Microsoft just seem to be pretending that the iphone doesn't exist (even though they are now paying devs to port between them). I'm trying to port my game from the iphone to winmo7, and I already have a nice asset pipeline set up for exporting textures in the exact format we want (16 bit fmts ect) I just want to be able to open a file and read it, just like I would on any other platform. I have tried System.IO.File.OpenText("atextfile.txt"), but it says that function is "RESTRICTED!!!!" I have tried just adding the txt file to the content project, setting its properties to "content" and "copy always" and then trying to open it doing this.Content.Load("atextfile.txt"); with and without the extension, says it can't find the file.

  Basically, I like default theme widgets. However, I need to change font size on DecoratedStackPanel widget. I think it should be possible with something like this: decoratedStackPanel.getElement().getStyle().setProperty("fontSize", "12pt"); However, "fontSize" is not valid name for property and I didn't find way how to get all element's properties. Therefore, I don't know correct property name. Any ideas? Please, don't post about inheriting widget or writing custom CSS. I like default one but the font size. This should be possible afaik.

• EntityFramework: Access dabase-column using user defined Type

  I "inherited" an old Database where dates are stored as Int32 values (times too, but dates shall suffice for this example) i.e. 20090101 for Jan. 1st 2009. I can not change the schema of this database because it is still accessed by the old programs. However I want to write a new program using EF as the O/R-M. Now I'd love to have DateTime-Values in my Model. Is there a way to write a custom type and use this as a Type in the EF-Model. Something like a Type "OldDate" with properties: DatabaseValue : Int23 Value : DateTime (specifying the date-part whereas the time-part is always 0:00:00) Is something like this possible with the EF-Model ?

• How can the number of modifications be changed in the TeamCity success email?

  I would like to list an arbitrary number of changes rather than the default 10 that are listed now. We have a dev build on checkin where this isn't necessary, but the once daily build that goes out I would like to have all the changes listed for the day. If that is unpossible (range?) than the last n would be fine. I've looked in the .ftl files, specifically common.ftl. It contains the macro for using data from jetbrains.buildServer.notification.impl.ChangesBean to acquire the changes. I am hopeful there is a way to set properties externally that ChangesBean will look at, but I haven't been able to discover anything. Ideas?

  When i write something like this: <Style x:Key="panelS"> <Setter Property="Orientation" Value="Horizontal" /> <Setter Property="DockPanel.Dock" Value="Top" /> </Style> I get the error that says: Cannot resolve the Style Property 'Orientation'. Verify that the owning type is the Style's TargetType, or use Class.Property syntax to specify the Property. Sure i have a Dock panel with many Stackpanels in it so i want to move Stackpanel's properties to the style. But there is this error and i dont quite understand what it means and what is the workaround(..i'd wanted not to assign Orientation on every Stackpanel).

  Don't worry, I'm not going to ask that question, yet again... I am wanting to create my own programming language, just for learning sake. I don't want anything other than possibly a few links to head me into the right direction. MSDN Documentation on C# that is specific to what is required to create a language would be great! For the time being, all I am wanting to create is a very simple language that allows me to Create a Form, add a control to it, give that control a location, and maybe even some properties like a Text property, or maybe even a Color property.   I'm writing an application in C# for a smart device running Windows Mobile 6.1. It's pretty basic. Just querying a database and getting results. Nothing too fancy. This program is only going to be deployed internally, but we still want to be secure with our SQL connection info. What's the best way I should go about encrypting/securing my connection string in the program? I've seen examples for .NET programs using AppSettings, but I'm not seeing a Setting stab in my Solution properties. This is my first time developing an application in C#/Visual Studio 2008, so there might be some kind of setting I'm missing. Thanks for the help.

• Empty dict-like collection problem in SQLAlchemy

  I have a mapping in SQLAlchemy that looks like this: t_property_value = sa.Table('property_value', MetaData, autoload = True, autoload_with = engine) orm.mapper(PropertyValue, t_property_value) t_estate = sa.Table('estate', MetaData, autoload = True, autoload_with = engine) orm.mapper(Estate, t_estate, properties = dict( property_hash = orm.relation(PropertyValue, collection_class = column_mapped_collection(t_property_value.c.property_id)) )) Now, everything seems to be fine, when I load the Estate object and it has some relations to PropertyValue objects. However, when it does not, then property_hash attribute is None, instead of being something dict-like, so I can not add new relations like this: estate.property_hash[prop_id] = PropertyValue(...) because I get the "'NoneType' object does not support item assignment" error. So, is there any way to force SQLAlchemy to create proper empty collection?

I have an instance of a class, myThing. myThing has a property that has be synthesized: // .h @property(nonatomic,retain)MyCoolType *coolType; // .m @synthesize coolType; In my program I call: // The retain count on MyCoolType is 1. [myThing.coolType release]; The reference count on MyCoolType is now zero and dealloc should fire. So, shouldn't myThing.coolType now be nil? In my code that is not the case.   i am working with android webview and inside webview i am displaying the webpage which is having css,Javascript so i want that whenever i will select the checkbox and try to zoom the page so it should wrap otherwise it should not.   At the moment, I've got a JSON file with content looking like this: { "username": "test", "someNumber":100 } I'm using JSON.Net to fetch the .JSON file from a webserver - C#: var http = new HttpClient(); http.MaxResponseContentBufferSize = Int32.MaxValue; var response = await http.GetStringAsync(URI); var result = JsonConvert.DeserializeObject<DatClass.Result>(response); This works great together with the class getting/setting the properties. However, what I would like to know is whether there's a good way for a user to update the .JSON file through a textbox UI? As in: [textbox - update username] [update button] - username sent to server - .JSON file updated - [textblock - showing updated username in UI]. I'm not looking for exact code solutions, I'm rather looking for good solutions on this, and/or if this is a terrible idea of an easy database(?).

• Dll only loads correctly via LoadLibrary?

  I'm trying to use dbghelp.dll. If I set it up in the VS2008 properties to point to the correct library and header file, and put dbghelp.dll in the same directory as the executable, one of the functions in the dll fails. If I LoadLibrary the dll, everything that function works. I've looked at the header that gets included via the VS option, and the right one is being pulled in. The correct lib is being pulled in (checked via /verbose option), and depends.exe shows the correct dll is loaded. Does anyone know why I can't get this to work? I'll probably just go with LoadLibrary, but I'm genuinely stumped on this one. EDIT: SymfromAddr fails with an "error 87", whatever that is. If I load the dll via LoadLibrary, it works.

• Can anyone recommend a .Net XML Serialization library?

  Can anyone recommend a .Net XML Serialization library (ideally open source). I am looking for a robust XML serialization library that I can throw any object at, which will produce a human readable XML representation of the public properties for logging purposes. I never need to be able to deserialize. XmlSerializer's requirement of an object having a parameter constructor is too restrictive for what I want. DataContractSerializer does not give enough control over the output (which is not particularly human-readable). Any recommendations appreciated! Thanks
